mohnetic Zapier integrationAutomate mohnetic with Zapier.

The mohnetic Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. All three triggers are instant, so a change in a dataset reaches Zapier right away on any plan, and the one action adds a row. The app is in beta and runs on the free plan.

Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

Overview

What the mohnetic Zapier integration actually does

mohnetic is a platform that stores business data in datasets and automates work around them, without code. The Zapier integration plugs those datasets into your other tools: a row is added, changed or removed in mohnetic and Zapier acts elsewhere, or data from another app lands as a new row.

New rows that travel. Record Inserted fires each time data is added to a dataset you choose. Every new entry can reach a spreadsheet or a helpdesk without exporting anything.

Changes that leave a trace. Record Updated follows edits to existing rows. Pair it with an email step and you hear about each change without opening mohnetic.

Deletions that do not go unnoticed. Record Deleted reports rows removed from a dataset, the kind of event that otherwise vanishes without anyone seeing it.

What Zapier does not do with mohnetic: there is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a row before acting, and no action to edit or delete a row. Insert Record, which adds a row, is the only way to write. On the bright side, all three triggers are instant: the app tells Zapier itself, so a reaction starts right away whatever your plan. The integration is also flagged beta by Zapier, so expect it to evolve.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven terms carry this whole page. Here is each one in a sentence.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event to come in.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
Task
What Zapier bills you for: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's quota counts those.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. All three mohnetic triggers work this way.
Polling trigger
The other kind: Zapier asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps what it has not seen. mohnetic has none.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Cost

What a mohnetic Zap costs

Zapier bills tasks, and only actions that succeed count as tasks. The trigger, instant or not, never costs one.

  • TriggerNever counted
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, Zaps of 2 steps
  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan

A Zap that sends a message for every new mohnetic row uses one task per row; add a second action and each row costs two. Failed actions are not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes it a multi-step Zap (anything beyond one trigger and one action), which needs a paid plan. mohnetic is not a premium app. The grid below shows how often Zapier checks polling triggers on each plan; it does not apply to mohnetic, whose three triggers are all instant.

Connect

Connect your mohnetic account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your mohnetic account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that uses it.

  2. 02

    Find mohnetic

Search for mohnetic in the dialog, pick it from the list of results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens where you sign in to your mohnetic account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to mohnetic in that tab and let Zapier reach the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: an email for new data

GoalEvery new row added to a chosen mohnetic dataset sends an email, but only when the row matches a rule you set.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap, pick mohnetic as the app that starts it and Record Inserted as the event, then select your mohnetic connection.

  2. 02

    Choose the dataset

Select the dataset to watch. This field is required, and the Zap reacts only to rows added to that dataset, nowhere else.

  3. 03

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account so you build the next steps on a real row.

  4. 04

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and fill in the field, the rule and the value. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Add the email

Add your email tool as the action and map the row's fields into the subject and body. Test it once and check what came back.

  6. 06

    Publish

Publish the Zap to switch it on. Because Record Inserted is instant, each new matching row now triggers the email right away, whatever your plan.

Triggers

mohnetic triggers on Zapier

3 events start a Zap when something happens in mohnetic, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Record Deleted

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there was a record deleted from the chosen dataset.”

Starts a Zap whenever a row is removed from the dataset you chose. Removals are easy to miss, and this turns each one into an event another tool can record or announce.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
keep an audit log in a spreadsheet of every customer entry someone deletes.
Watch out
picking the dataset is required, so rows removed from any other dataset will not start this Zap.
2

Record Inserted

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there's a new new data put into the chosen dataset.”

Reacts to every new row put into a chosen dataset. This is the trigger most people start with, because new data is usually what other tools need to hear about first.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
create a ticket in your helpdesk for each new request logged in a mohnetic dataset.
Watch out
rows that were already in the dataset before you published the Zap are never sent; only new inserts count.
3

Record Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there's an existing record was changed in the chosen dataset.”

Fires when an existing row in the chosen dataset is changed. Use it when what matters is not new data but data that moves: a status, an amount, an owner.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
send an email each time a row in a dataset you follow is edited.
Watch out
every edit counts, so a busy dataset can start many runs; each action that follows costs a task, and a filter on a paid plan keeps only the edits you care about.
Actions

The mohnetic action on Zapier

mohnetic gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Insert Record

Action

In Zapier“Puts a new row into the dataset. Data is pulled from the trigger configured by the user.”

Adds a new row to a mohnetic dataset, filled with data from an earlier step of the Zap. It is the single way a Zap writes into mohnetic.

When to use it
collect each new web form submission as a row in the dataset your team works from.
Watch out
the destination dataset is required; pick it carefully, since every Zap that writes where its own trigger looks can set itself off again.
When it breaks

When a mohnetic Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article and no app-specific limit to mohnetic. What goes wrong comes from Zapier's general behavior, which applies here too.

Three cases to know before you switch anything on. If something still behaves oddly, our Zapier troubleshooting page is a good next stop.

  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows already in the dataset stay where they are; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, which burns through your tasks fast.
  • A bulk import can be held back

When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.

FAQ

mohnetic Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the mohnetic Zapier integration free?
Yes. mohnetic is not a premium app, so it works on Zapier's free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. Adding a filter, a second action or a search turns the Zap into a multi-step one, which needs a paid plan. A Zap that copies each new mohnetic row into another dataset with Insert Record stays within the free plan.
02How many tasks does a mohnetic Zap use?
One task for each action that succeeds, and none for the trigger. A Zap that emails someone for every new row spends one task per row; if it also writes to a spreadsheet, each row costs two. Actions that fail are not counted. Record Updated deserves attention: a dataset edited often produces many runs, and every run that reaches an action uses a task, and a filter on a paid plan lets only the edits you care about through.
03Is the mohnetic Zapier integration real time?
Yes, for all three triggers. Record Inserted, Record Updated and Record Deleted are instant: mohnetic tells Zapier when the event happens, so the Zap starts right away whatever your plan. The polling interval grid of the plans does not apply to them, which makes the free plan as fast as the others here. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt next to it.
04What does it take to connect mohnetic to Zapier?
An account on mohnetic, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You start from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection, pick mohnetic, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. Then make sure the account holds at least one dataset, since every trigger and the action ask you to choose one. The connection is then reused by every mohnetic step in all your Zaps.
05Why does every mohnetic step ask for a dataset?
Because each mohnetic operation works inside one dataset of your account. Record Deleted, Record Inserted and Record Updated each require you to choose the dataset to watch, and Insert Record requires the dataset to write into. The connected account needs read or write access on any dataset it does not own and that the Zap should touch. As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again, so choose the target carefully and verify at the test step where the row landed.
06What if the mohnetic operation you need does not exist?
Check the mohnetic page on Zapier first: it shows the current list of triggers and actions. Today there are three triggers on datasets and one action that adds a row, with no search and no way to edit or delete a row. If your process depends on one of those, Zapier cannot do that part with this app; you can still react to changes with the triggers and handle the rest in another tool.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for mohnetic?
Decide on criteria rather than a ranking. On Zapier, mohnetic has three instant triggers and one action ready to use, and since the triggers are instant, speed does not depend on your plan. The limits are a beta integration and two-step Zaps on the free plan. Before considering Make or n8n, check that they offer a mohnetic connector at all and how they bill each run of a workflow. For a simple new-row alert, Zapier's free plan already covers it.
