Overview

What the Motor Fiscal Zapier integration actually does

The Motor Fiscal Zapier integration sends the electronic service invoices (NFSE) that Motor Fiscal receives to your other tools. A Zap (an automation built on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions) starts on each new invoice and hands its data to the next app, without anyone retyping it.

An invoice register that fills itself. New Electronic Service Invoice (NFSE - Nota Fiscal Servico) reports each invoice Motor Fiscal receives, through its integration with the city government or through OCR, and a spreadsheet action adds it as a row.

A heads-up in your team chat. The same trigger can feed a messaging step, so a new invoice is announced where your team already reads.

Invoices sorted before they go anywhere. With a filter (paid plan), only invoices that meet your condition move on to the next step.

What Zapier does not do with Motor Fiscal: the app has no action and no search on Zapier, so a Zap cannot write into Motor Fiscal or look something up in it. The flow goes one way, out of Motor Fiscal. And invoices received before you publish the Zap are not picked up. On the plus side, the trigger is instant, so the plan interval never delays it.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words come back throughout this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, here a new service invoice in Motor Fiscal.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, in another app since Motor Fiscal has none.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those, nothing else.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. Motor Fiscal does not use this kind.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check. The Motor Fiscal trigger is one.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise. It needs a paid plan.
Connection
Your Motor Fiscal account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that uses Motor Fiscal in any of your Zaps.
Cost

What a Motor Fiscal Zap really costs

Motor Fiscal is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only for actions that go through.

  • Motor Fiscal statusNot premium, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
  • Motor Fiscal trigger1, instant
  • Actions and searchesNone on Zapier

The trigger never costs a task, however many invoices Motor Fiscal reports. Each action that succeeds counts as one: one invoice written to a spreadsheet is one task. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below does not apply to the Motor Fiscal trigger, which is instant; it only concerns polling triggers from other apps.

Connect

Connect Motor Fiscal to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Motor Fiscal account linked once, then reused by every step that uses it.

  2. 02

    Pick Motor Fiscal

Type Motor Fiscal in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need a Motor Fiscal account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Motor Fiscal in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access to the account. Every Motor Fiscal trigger you set afterwards can reuse this one connection.

First Zap

Your first Zap: log each received invoice in a spreadsheet

GoalEach electronic service invoice Motor Fiscal receives for your company becomes a row in your spreadsheet.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

Create a Zap, pick Motor Fiscal as the app and New Electronic Service Invoice (NFSE - Nota Fiscal Servico) as the event, then choose your connection.

  2. 02

    Enter the CNPJ

Type the CNPJ of the service taker, the company receiving the invoices. The help text of the field notes that your company's CNPJ is already registered on Motor Fiscal.

  3. 03

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map from a real invoice rather than from a guess.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add your spreadsheet app as the action with its add-row event, then map the invoice values from the test into your columns.

  5. 05

    Optional message (paid plan)

A message after the row turns the Zap into a multi-step one, which needs a paid plan, and each successful action is counted as its own task.

  6. 06

    Test and publish

Test each action once and read what came back, then publish the Zap to switch it on. Invoices received before publishing are not picked up.

Triggers

Motor Fiscal trigger on Zapier

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Motor Fiscal, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Electronic Service Invoice (NFSE - Nota Fiscal Servico)

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when Electronic Service Invoice (NFSE) after the receipt by Motor Fiscal by the integration with city government or OCR”

Starts your Zap each time Motor Fiscal receives an electronic service invoice for the company you set, whether it came through the integration with the city government or through OCR. It is the only Motor Fiscal operation on Zapier, so every Zap with this app begins here and sends the invoice data on to another tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
keeping a running register of every received invoice in a shared spreadsheet, without exporting anything by hand.
Watch out
the CNPJ of the service taker is required; the field help describes it as your company's CNPJ, already registered on Motor Fiscal.
When it breaks

When a Motor Fiscal Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Motor Fiscal, and no limit specific to the app is documented. The cases below come from how every Zap behaves, plus the one requirement the trigger states.

Four situations to know before you publish. When a run does not do what you expected, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • The CNPJ field is required

The trigger asks for the CNPJ of the service taker; its help text says your company's CNPJ is already registered on Motor Fiscal. Check the value on the trigger test.
  • No backlog

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Invoices received earlier are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again and burn through tasks. Keep the source and the destination apart.
  • A sudden flood of invoices

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the batch back.

FAQ

Motor Fiscal Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Motor Fiscal Zapier integration free?
Yes. Motor Fiscal is not a premium app, so it works on the free Zapier plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each built from two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that writes every received invoice into a spreadsheet fits inside that. The moment you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Plan for that if you want to sort invoices before they reach the next tool.
02How many tasks does a Motor Fiscal Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. Motor Fiscal reporting an invoice to Zapier is free, however many invoices arrive. If your Zap adds a row for each invoice, every row written costs one task. A Zap with two actions spends two tasks per invoice when both succeed. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task when they complete.
03Does Motor Fiscal trigger Zaps in real time?
Yes. Its only trigger, New Electronic Service Invoice (NFSE - Nota Fiscal Servico), is an instant trigger: Motor Fiscal tells Zapier itself when an invoice is received, so the Zap starts right away. The polling interval of your plan does not apply to it, whatever plan you are on. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The type of trigger is set by the app and cannot be changed from the editor.
04What do you need to connect a Motor Fiscal account to Zapier?
A Motor Fiscal account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. From the Apps page of your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search Motor Fiscal, click Add connection, sign in to Motor Fiscal in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. To set up the trigger, you also need the CNPJ of the service taker, which the field help describes as your company's CNPJ, already registered on Motor Fiscal.
05Which CNPJ goes in the Motor Fiscal trigger?
The CNPJ of the service taker, meaning the company that receives the service invoices you want to follow. The field is required. Its help text puts it simply: the CNPJ of your company is already registered on Motor Fiscal. Confirm the value before you publish. Run the trigger test afterwards: it brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you can map from a real invoice and see that the right company comes back.
06What if the Motor Fiscal operation you need is not on Zapier?
Then this integration cannot do it. The Motor Fiscal page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, and today it holds a single trigger, with no action and no search. A Zap can therefore read received invoices, but cannot write into Motor Fiscal or look something up there. If what you have in mind happens after the invoice arrives, it can live in another app of the Zap, such as a spreadsheet or a messaging tool fed by the trigger.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Motor Fiscal?
Weigh them on criteria rather than a ranking. Start with what each tool offers for Motor Fiscal: on Zapier, one instant trigger for received service invoices, no action and no search. Then look at billing: Zapier counts each successful action as a task and never charges for the trigger. The polling interval of a plan does not apply here, since the only Motor Fiscal trigger is instant. Finally, check whether the free plan's two-step limit covers the Zap you want to build.
