Overview

What the Myna Zapier integration does

Myna turns audio and video files into a SmartTranscript: the transcription, the topics and an editor, delivered to your inbox. On Zapier it is the final step of a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier): a recording shows up somewhere, and Myna gets it without you uploading it by hand.

Three results you can get with Send File to Myna. Recordings dropped into a cloud storage folder go to Myna one by one, each becoming a SmartTranscript titled with the file name. A recording link shared through a form reaches Myna too, as long as the form gives a real download link. And a recording listed in a spreadsheet row, with its name and link, can be sent the same way.

What Zapier does not do here. Myna has no trigger, so a finished SmartTranscript cannot start a Zap: the result lands in your inbox, not in Zapier. There is no search either, and no action to read, rename or delete a transcript. The action only takes two things, a file name and a download URL, both required, and Myna uses that link to fetch the recording. A share page that needs a click before the download is not the same as a download link, so pick the field that carries the link itself.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in plain English

Seven terms come back on this page. Here is what each one means before you meet it in the editor.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Myna has none, so another app starts things.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. Here, sending a file to Myna.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan counts those, nothing else.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier at a fixed interval. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Myna account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that sends files to Myna.
Cost

What a Myna Zap costs

Zapier bills completed actions only. The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking for new files costs nothing either, however often it looks.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
  • Myna premium? No, it works on the free plan
  • Cost of one file1 task when the action succeeds
  • Failed actionNot counted

Each file that Send File to Myna hands over successfully is one task; an action that fails is not counted. Myna is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap. A trigger from your storage plus Send File to Myna fits exactly. A filter, say to keep only some files, or a second action, makes it a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to the trigger of the other app when it is a polling one.

Connect

Connect Myna to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a Myna account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Select Myna

Search for Myna by name in the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens on the Myna side, where you sign in to your account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Myna in that tab, then grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then saved in your Zapier account, and every Zap that sends files to Myna reuses it.

First Zap

Your first Myna Zap: storage folder to SmartTranscript

GoalEach new recording saved to a cloud storage folder goes to Myna, only when the file matches the condition you set.

  1. 01

    Build: start from the folder

Create a Zap and pick your cloud storage app with its new-file event as the trigger, pointed at the folder where recordings land. Myna cannot start a Zap itself.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent files of the connected account, so you map the name and the link from a real recording.

  3. 03

    Add a filter (paid plan)

From the plus icon, add a Filter step and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Send File to Myna

Pick Myna, then Send File to Myna. Map the file name to File Name, which becomes the meeting title, and the download link to File DownloadURL.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run the action test once and read what came back before going further. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. Files already in the folder are not sent.

Actions

The Myna action

Myna gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send File to Myna

Action

In Zapier“Sends the file to Myna for processing to generate the SmartTranscript”

Hands a recording to Myna through its download link, so Myna can process it into a SmartTranscript. The file name you send becomes the meeting title of that transcript.

When to use it
recordings already land in a storage folder or a list, and you want transcripts without uploading anything by hand.
Watch out
both fields are required, and the URL has to be a download link Myna can use.
When it breaks

When a Myna Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Myna and documents no limit specific to it. The cases below come from how Zapier itself works.

  • Old recordings are not sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Recordings already in the folder do not go to Myna, and sending that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through the task count fast.
  • A sudden huge batch

When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • The same file twice

On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

Myna Zapier integration: FAQ

01Is the Myna Zapier integration free?
Yes. Myna is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan of Zapier. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each made of two steps: one trigger and one action. A new file in a storage folder followed by Send File to Myna fits exactly, as long as the storage app is not premium itself. A filter or a second action turns it into a multi-step Zap, and that requires a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Myna Zap use?
One task per file that Send File to Myna hands over successfully. The trigger in your storage app costs nothing, and Zapier checking that folder for new files costs nothing either, however often it looks. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. If you later add a second action after Myna, each successful action counts on its own, so every recording then uses two tasks instead of one.
03Does Myna work in real time with Zapier?
Myna has no trigger, so the timing depends on the app that starts the Zap. If that app offers an instant trigger, it tells Zapier itself and the plan interval does not apply. If its trigger is a polling one, Zapier checks at a fixed interval: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Send File to Myna then runs right after the trigger. How long Myna takes to produce the SmartTranscript is not documented here.
04What do you need to connect Myna to Zapier?
A Myna account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Then, on the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Myna, click Add connection, sign in to Myna in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. That single connection is reused by every Zap that sends files to Myna, so you set it up once. After that, the only fields left to fill in each Zap are File Name and File DownloadURL.
05What kind of link does Send File to Myna need?
A download link. File DownloadURL is required, and Myna uses that link, with the access it grants, to download and process the recording. A link to a preview page or a folder is not the same thing as a download link. Map the field that carries the actual download link from your storage app, then run the action test and read what came back before you publish the Zap. The other required field, File Name, becomes the meeting title of the SmartTranscript.
06What if the Myna operation you need is not available?
Then Zapier cannot do it today. This integration has one action, Send File to Myna, and nothing else: no trigger when a transcript is ready, no search, no way to change or remove a transcript. The Myna page on zapier.com shows the current list of operations, so check it before planning a Zap around something else. Within a Zap, Send File to Myna can still follow any trigger from another app that carries a file name and a download link.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Myna?
Compare on criteria rather than a ranking. Coverage: on Zapier, Myna offers one action, Send File to Myna, and no trigger; for Make or n8n, look at each tool's own app list. What the action needs: a file name and a download link, so the tool you pick must be able to hand over the link itself from your storage. Cost model: Zapier bills each successful action as a task, and its free plan stops at two steps per Zap. Timing: on Zapier, the trigger of your storage app, instant or polling, sets the pace.
