What the OmgLeads Zapier integration is good for
The OmgLeads Zapier integration takes the leads your quizzes and forms collect and passes them to other tools. Zapier runs small automations called Zaps: an event in one app starts them, and they do the work somewhere else. With OmgLeads, that event is a lead completing a form, and everything after it happens in other apps.
Three results are typical. A clean lead list: each completed lead lands as a row in a spreadsheet the whole marketing team can sort and share. A CRM that fills itself: the same lead becomes a contact in your sales tool, so nobody retypes names from a quiz export. A heads-up for sales: a message in the team chat for each new completed lead, so follow-up starts the same day. All three rest on one operation, New Completed Leads. Since it is a polling trigger, each lead reaches those tools at the next check, not at the very second the form is completed.
What Zapier does not do for OmgLeads is just as clear. The editor offers no action and no search step for this app, so a Zap cannot create a quiz, change a lead, delete one or look up an existing answer in OmgLeads. Data goes out of OmgLeads, never back in, and leads collected before the Zap was switched on are not picked up. If a two-way flow matters, compare tools first with Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier.
The Zapier words you will meet
Eight terms in plain words. The rest of the page uses them without explaining them again.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. OmgLeads offers none.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer, keeping only what is new. An instant one is reported by the app itself.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so later steps can reuse it. OmgLeads has none.
- Connection
- Your account of an app, linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that uses that app.
What it really costs
Zapier bills in tasks, one per action that completes. New Completed Leads costs nothing, however often Zapier checks OmgLeads for new leads.
- The trigger and its checks0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Needs a paid planFilter, search or second action
So the bill comes from the steps after it: one task per successful action, nothing for an action that fails. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, and OmgLeads is not reserved for paid plans. Two catches. A free Zap stops at two steps, so adding a filter, a search or a second action makes it multi-step and needs a paid plan. And this trigger is a polling one, so how quickly a lead arrives depends on the plan grid below.
Connect your OmgLeads account in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Have your OmgLeads account ready: Zapier links an account that already exists, it does not create one.
- 02
Pick OmgLeads
In the dialog, type OmgLeads, select it in the results, then click Add connection. Zapier opens a separate tab where you sign in to OmgLeads with your usual account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to OmgLeads in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. If a colleague owns the forms you want to watch, get read access on them first, or the Zap will not see their leads.
Your first Zap: log and announce every completed lead
GoalEach completed OmgLeads lead lands in a shared sheet and in the sales channel.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose OmgLeads as the app that starts it, then New Completed Leads as the event, and select your OmgLeads connection.
- 02
Choose the form
Fill in the Form Key with the form you want to watch. One Zap watches one form, so a second quiz needs a Zap of its own.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent completed leads of that form. Pick one, so the next steps are mapped on a real lead rather than an empty sample.
- 04
Add the two actions
Add the Google Sheets step, then the Slack step, and map the lead details from the trigger into each. Three steps make a multi-step Zap, so this one needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each action once and read what came back, then click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, every new completed lead on that form is picked up at the next check.
The OmgLeads trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in OmgLeads. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Completed Leads
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when new leads are completed.”
When a visitor finishes one of your OmgLeads quizzes or forms, this trigger hands that completed lead to your Zap. It is the only operation Zapier offers for OmgLeads, so every Zap built with this app starts here and does its real work in other tools: a CRM, a sheet, an email platform.
When it breaks
Zapier attaches no help article and no rate limit to OmgLeads. What goes wrong here is the general behaviour of a Zap built on a polling trigger.
Three cases cover what a marketing team is likely to meet. For a run that fails for another reason, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Leads from before the Zap never arrive
A Zap only reacts to leads completed after you switch it on. Everything collected earlier stays in OmgLeads, and moving that backlog is a separate job.A sudden burst holds leads back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those leads back instead of running them all.The same lead does not run twice
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so a lead it has processed does not start the Zap again.
