Overview

What the MyTaag Zapier integration actually does

It is a one-way, instant link. MyTaag is a platform where you manage business cards and keep track of new leads. When a lead is created there, MyTaag tells Zapier itself, and Zapier hands the lead to another app you pick. Nothing travels back into MyTaag.

Everything runs through one operation, New Lead, so every result starts from the same event and only the destination changes. Three uses stand out. A lead sheet: each new lead becomes a row in a spreadsheet you can sort and share. A sales follow-up: the lead opens a record in the tool where you chase prospects. A team ping: the lead shows up as a message in the chat your colleagues already read. All three read the same lead; only the second step changes.

The trigger is instant: the plan you pick does not slow it down, and a free plan gets leads as fast as a paid one. In the editor, a Zap built on it shows a lightning bolt.

What Zapier does not do for this app matters as much. There is no action, so a Zap cannot create, edit or tag anything in MyTaag. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up a lead that already exists.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you will meet

Eight terms, in plain words. They come back all through this page.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Here it is a new lead in MyTaag, which Zapier waits for once the Zap is switched on.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something in another app for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. MyTaag's trigger is not one.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check. New Lead is one.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MyTaag Zap costs

The trigger costs nothing. Only the actions that follow a new lead are counted.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each action that succeeds1 task
  • Action that failsNot counted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two steps per Zap

One lead sent to one app is one task; sent to two apps in the same Zap, two tasks. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. MyTaag itself is open on the free plan.

The grid below is Zapier's polling interval per plan. It does not apply to MyTaag's New Lead trigger, which is instant on every plan.

Connect

Connect MyTaag to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open your Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type MyTaag in it and pick the app from the list of results.

  2. 02

    Sign in and grant access

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on MyTaag: sign in with the account whose leads the Zap should receive, then grant Zapier access to that account.

  3. 03

    Check the prerequisites

You need an account on MyTaag, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Once linked, the connection is reused by every step that calls MyTaag.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a lead sheet that fills itself

GoalEvery new MyTaag lead that meets a condition you set is added as a row in a spreadsheet.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Create a new Zap, choose MyTaag as the app that starts it, then New Lead as the event. Select the connection you made, or add it from that screen.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the connected account, so you map your fields on a real lead rather than a blank one.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers. This step needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet step

Choose your spreadsheet app and its add-a-row action, then place the lead's values in the right columns. Test this step once and read what came back before going further.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each new lead that passes the filter is written to the sheet, with no polling interval in between.

Triggers

The MyTaag trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in MyTaag, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Lead

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created.”

A lead is created in MyTaag and your Zap starts with that lead in hand, ready to pass it to whatever app you put in the next step.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
when each new lead should reach your follow-up tool or your team without anyone copying it by hand.
Watch out
leads created before you publish the Zap are not sent, only the ones that come after.
When it breaks

When a MyTaag Zap goes wrong

Zapier attaches no help article to this app and lists no limit of its own, so what can go wrong comes from how Zapier works in general.

Three cases are worth knowing before you publish. If a run still behaves oddly, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Leads from before are not sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads that already existed in MyTaag are not picked up, and moving them is a separate job.
  • A big batch can be held back

If a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch at once, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back.
  • A Zap can set itself off again

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and use up tasks fast.

FAQ

MyTaag and Zapier: common questions

01Is the MyTaag Zapier integration free?
Yes. MyTaag is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans, so a two-step Zap, New Lead followed by one action, runs on the free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to one trigger and one action. You hit the ceiling once you want more: a filter that keeps only some leads, or a second action that sends the same lead to two tools, makes the Zap multi-step, and a multi-step Zap needs a paid plan. The trigger never costs a task.
02How many tasks does a MyTaag Zap use?
One task per lead and per action that succeeds. The trigger itself is free, so receiving leads costs nothing. A Zap that writes each new lead to one spreadsheet uses one task per lead. If the same Zap also posts a message to your team, each lead costs two tasks, because every successful action is counted on its own. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. To size your plan, compare the number of leads you expect in a month with the 100 tasks of the free plan.
03Does MyTaag send leads to Zapier in real time?
Yes. New Lead is an instant trigger: MyTaag calls Zapier itself when a lead is created, so the Zap starts right away instead of waiting for a scheduled check. That holds on every plan, the free one included, and the polling interval grid of Zapier does not apply to it. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The type is set by the app and cannot be changed from the editor, so there is nothing to tune on this side.
04What does it take to connect a MyTaag account to Zapier?
An account on MyTaag, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The link is made once from the Apps page of Zapier: click + Add connection, search for MyTaag, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. After that, every step that uses MyTaag reuses the same connection, in this Zap and in the next ones. Sign in with the account whose leads you want to receive, since that is the account the trigger listens to.
05Why are older MyTaag leads missing from the Zap?
Because a Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. New Lead fires for leads created once the Zap is published; the ones already stored in MyTaag are never picked up, however recent they are. The trigger test does bring back the three most recent leads, but only so you can map fields on a real one, not to send them. If you need the existing leads in your other tool, treat that as a separate job, done once, before you rely on the Zap for what comes next.
06What if the MyTaag operation you need is not there?
Then this integration cannot do it for now. On Zapier, MyTaag offers a single trigger, New Lead, and no action or search, so a Zap cannot create, update or look up anything inside MyTaag. The app's page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, so check it before you plan a Zap around one that is missing. What you can build is anything that starts from a new lead: a row, a message or a record in another tool, as long as that tool offers the action you want.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MyTaag?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Coverage first: on Zapier, MyTaag exposes one instant trigger, so check whether the other tool lists MyTaag at all and what it offers there. Speed is not a deciding point on Zapier, since the New Lead trigger is instant on every plan and the polling interval does not apply to it. Billing is: Zapier counts one task per successful action and the free plan stops at two steps, so a filtered Zap means a paid plan. Weigh those points against your monthly lead volume.
