Overview

What the Mythic Text Zapier integration actually does

It is a formatting step you drop in the middle of a Zap. Mythic Text turns content produced by a language model into versions ready to share and publish. Another app starts the Zap and hands over the text; Mythic Text reshapes it; a later step sends the result where it belongs.

Four actions, one per destination, and each one gives a distinct result. A blog draft: Format for Wordpress prepares an AI-written article for a Wordpress post. A newsletter body: Format for Email gets the same kind of text ready to go out in an email. A shared document: Format for Google Docs shapes it for a Google Docs file your colleagues can open. A fourth action, Format for Twitter, readies a short text to become a Tweet. Every one of them works the same way: text in, formatted text out for the next step.

Now what Zapier does not do for this app. There is no trigger, so Mythic Text never starts a Zap: something else has to, and that app decides how fast the Zap runs. There is no search either. And Mythic Text does not publish anything by itself; the email, the document or the post is sent by the step you put after it, which makes the Zap multi-step.

Vocabulary

The Zapier words you will meet

Eight terms, in plain words. They come back all through this page.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. Mythic Text has none, so the trigger always comes from another app, such as the tool that writes your text.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. All four Mythic Text operations are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen yet.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Mythic Text Zap costs

Each Mythic Text action that succeeds is one task. The trigger of the app that starts the Zap costs nothing.

  • Trigger of the starting app0 tasks
  • Each Mythic Text action that succeeds1 task
  • Action that failsNot counted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two steps per Zap

If you add a step after the formatting that sends or saves the result, that is two actions, so two tasks per run, and a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps. An action that fails is not counted. Mythic Text itself is open on the free plan.

The grid below is Zapier's polling interval per plan. It only applies if the app that starts your Zap uses a polling trigger.

Connect

Connect Mythic Text to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open your Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type Mythic Text in it and pick the app from the results.

  2. 02

    Sign in and grant access

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Mythic Text: sign in with the Mythic Text account you want your Zaps to use, then grant Zapier access to that account.

  3. 03

    Check the prerequisites

You need an account on Mythic Text, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Once linked, the connection is reused by every step that calls Mythic Text.

First Zap

Your first Zap: from AI draft to blog draft

GoalEach new text produced by your writing tool is formatted for Wordpress, then saved as a draft in your blog tool.

  1. 01

Pick the trigger in another app

Create a new Zap and choose the app where your text appears, with its event for a new text. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items, so you work on a real one.

  2. 02

    Add Format for Wordpress

Add an action, choose Mythic Text, then Format for Wordpress. Select your connection, then map the text from the trigger into the required Convert Markdown → Wordpress field.

  3. 03

    Test the formatting

Run the Mythic Text step once and read what came back. Check at the test which output field carries the formatted text before you use it further down.

  4. 04

    Add the blog step

Add a second action in your blog tool, map the formatted text from the Mythic Text step into it, and test it too. With two actions, this Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, every new text from your source is reshaped and saved as a draft, after the trigger of that source fires.

Actions

The four Mythic Text actions

Mythic Text gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Format for Email

Action

In Zapier“Optimizes Markdown or Plain Text for Email”

Hand this action a Markdown or plain text and it returns a version prepared for an email, ready for the step that sends the message.

When to use it
when an AI writes the body of a newsletter or a follow-up message and an email step sends it next.
Watch out
the Convert Markdown → Email field is required, so a previous step must supply the text.
2

Format for Google Docs

Action

In Zapier“Optimizes Markdown or Plain Text for GoogleDocs”

Built for documents, this action reshapes Markdown or plain text for Google Docs, ready for a file your team will open and edit.

When to use it
when generated reports or briefs should end up as shared documents rather than raw text.
Watch out
Convert Markdown → GoogleDocs is required, and the document itself is created by a later step.
3

Format for Twitter

Action

In Zapier“Optimizes Markdown or Plain Text for Twitter”

Short text in, Tweet-ready text out: this action prepares Markdown or plain text so it can go out as a post on Twitter.

When to use it
when an AI drafts a short announcement from a longer piece and you want it shaped for a Tweet.
Watch out
Convert Markdown → Twitter is required; check at the test what the output looks like before posting anything.
4

Format for Wordpress

Action

In Zapier“Optimizes Markdown or Plain Text for Wordpress”

For blog content, this is the one: it takes an article in Markdown or plain text and prepares it for a Wordpress blog post.

When to use it
when an AI writes full articles and you want them in Wordpress without reformatting each one by hand.
Watch out
the Convert Markdown → Wordpress field is required, and the post is created by the step that follows.
When it breaks

When a Mythic Text Zap goes wrong

Zapier attaches no help article to this app and lists no limit of its own, so what can go wrong comes from how Zapier works in general.

Four cases are worth knowing before you publish. If a run still behaves oddly, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Older texts are not formatted

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Texts that already existed in your source app are not picked up; reworking that backlog is a separate job.
  • Writing back where the trigger looks

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and use up tasks fast.
  • A large batch can be held back

If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back.
  • The same item does not run twice

When the starting app uses a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has seen, so the same item does not start the Zap a second time.

FAQ

Mythic Text and Zapier: common questions

01Is the Mythic Text Zapier integration free?
Mythic Text is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans, so you can connect it and use it on the free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, but each Zap stops at one trigger and one action. Add a step after the formatting to send or save the text, and that second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The trigger never costs a task.
02How many tasks does a Mythic Text Zap use?
One task for each action that succeeds, per run. A Zap that formats a text for Wordpress and then creates the draft uses two tasks each time it runs: one for Mythic Text, one for the blog step. If you format the same text for email and for Google Docs in one Zap, add one more task per format. The trigger of the app that starts the Zap costs nothing, and an action that fails is not counted. Compare the number of runs you expect each month with the 100 tasks of the free plan.
03Does Mythic Text work in real time on Zapier?
Mythic Text has no trigger, so the question is about the app that starts your Zap. If that app's trigger is instant, it calls Zapier when the event happens and the Mythic Text step runs right after. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on the free plan, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. The type is set by that app and cannot be changed in the editor. A Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt.
04What does it take to connect a Mythic Text account to Zapier?
An account on Mythic Text, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The link is made from the Apps page of Zapier: click + Add connection, search for Mythic Text, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. After that, every step that uses Mythic Text reuses the same connection, in this Zap and the next ones. You will also need a connection to the app that produces your text, since the Zap has to start there.
05Why does a Mythic Text action ask for a Convert Markdown field?
Because that field is the text to convert, and it is required on all four actions: Convert Markdown → Email, → GoogleDocs, → Twitter and → Wordpress. Mythic Text cannot produce anything without it, and it cannot fetch text by itself since it has no trigger and no search. So the text must come from an earlier step, such as the trigger of your writing tool. Map that value into the field, run the step once, and read what came back before adding the step that publishes or sends the result.
06What if the Mythic Text operation you need is not there?
Then this integration cannot do it for now. On Zapier, Mythic Text offers four formatting actions, for Email, Google Docs, Twitter and Wordpress, and no trigger or search. If your destination is not one of those four, there is no matching format here. The app's page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, so check it before you plan a Zap around one that is missing. What you can build today is any Zap whose text ends up in one of those four formats, with a later step that delivers it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Mythic Text?
It depends on your criteria, not on a winner. Coverage first: on Zapier, Mythic Text offers four formatting actions and no trigger, so check whether the other tool lists Mythic Text at all and what it offers. Billing next: on Zapier a formatting step plus a publishing step means two tasks per run and a paid plan, so count your monthly runs. Speed last: it is set by the trigger of the app that starts the Zap, not by Mythic Text, so look at that app on each tool before you compare.
