LAfricaMobile Zapier integrationAutomate LAfricaMobile with Zapier.

LAfricaMobile Zapier integration: 0 triggers, 1 action, 0 searches. LAfricaMobile is a bulk SMS platform. On Zapier it does exactly one job, Send SMS, so some other app has to start the Zap and LAfricaMobile delivers the text at the end of the chain.

Overview

What the LAfricaMobile Zapier integration actually does

The LAfricaMobile Zapier integration lets an event in another tool send a text message through your LAfricaMobile account, with no copy and paste in between. The app brings a single action and no trigger, so it always sits at the end of a Zap: something happens elsewhere, and LAfricaMobile turns it into an SMS.

Three results people build with it, all on the one action Send SMS. First, a confirmation text: a form or a booking tool records a new entry, and the person who filled it gets a message on their phone a moment later. Second, a team alert: a deal moves, a ticket arrives, and the field staff who never open email get the news by SMS. Third, a small broadcast: the recipient field accepts several numbers, so one Zap run can reach a whole list of colleagues at once.

Now the part the app page does not spell out. LAfricaMobile cannot start anything on Zapier. It has no trigger, so nothing that happens in your LAfricaMobile account will ever set off a Zap. It has no search either, which means a Zap cannot look up a contact or a past message inside LAfricaMobile. Everything the text needs (the number, the wording, the sender name) has to come from the app that started the Zap or be typed into the action. And because the action asks for your LAfricaMobile login and password on the step itself, keep those two values at hand before you build.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven terms come back on every Zapier page. Here they are once, in plain words, so the rest of the page reads without a dictionary.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for it. LAfricaMobile has none.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Send SMS is the LAfricaMobile action.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One action that completes successfully is one task, and your plan is a monthly count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets a condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something already stored in an app so later steps can reuse it. LAfricaMobile offers no search.
Connection
Your account of an app, linked to Zapier once and then reused by every step that touches that app in any Zap.
Cost

What a LAfricaMobile Zap costs you

LAfricaMobile is not a premium app, so it works on the free Zapier plan. Zapier counts tasks, and only successful actions count.

  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
  • One SMS sent1 task when it succeeds, 0 when it fails

The trigger in the other app is free, and so is every check Zapier runs to look for new data. Each Send SMS that goes through costs one task; one that fails costs nothing. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is capped at two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter, a second action or a search and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. A few apps and actions use more than one task when they complete, so glance at the run history after your first sends.

Connect

Connect LAfricaMobile to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an existing LAfricaMobile account before you start, since Zapier cannot create one for you.

  2. 02

    Pick LAfricaMobile

Type LAfricaMobile in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the LAfricaMobile side to collect your sign-in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to LAfricaMobile in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is then saved once and offered to every Zap that uses LAfricaMobile, so you never repeat this step.

First Zap

Your first LAfricaMobile Zap

GoalText a new lead the moment their row is added to a spreadsheet, but only when the row has a phone number.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Click to create a Zap and choose the app that starts it. Here a spreadsheet plays that part: every new row is a new contact who should get a text.

  2. 02

    Set and test the trigger

Connect the sheet and run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the account, so you can pick a real one to map from later.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, and set the phone column to exist. Rows without a number stop here. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan is required.

  4. 04

    Add Send SMS

Pick LAfricaMobile and the Send SMS action. Map the phone column into the recipient field, write the text, enter a declared sender name, then your Login and Password.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run the action test and check that the message reaches the phone. When it does, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only rows added afterwards will be texted.

Actions

LAfricaMobile actions on Zapier

LAfricaMobile gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Send SMS

Action

In Zapier“Send an SMS text message”

This step pushes a text message out through your LAfricaMobile account to one recipient or to several numbers at once, using the wording and sender name you set.

When to use it
a customer books a slot and should get a reminder on their phone rather than in an inbox.
Watch out
a sender name that is not declared in the destination country may stop the message from arriving, so test with LAM first.
When it breaks

When a LAfricaMobile Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to LAfricaMobile, so the failures below are the general ones that hit any SMS Zap, plus the sender rule the action itself states.

Most breakages come from the starting app or from the Zap design, not from LAfricaMobile. When a run fails, the Zap history shows which step stopped. See also our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Undeclared sender name

The action warns that a sender not declared in the destination country may never reach the phone. Test with LAM, then check that the text really lands on the phone.
  • No catch-up on old records

A Zap only reacts to events that happen after you publish it. Contacts already in your sheet will not be texted; sending to that backlog is a separate job.
  • Zap that restarts itself

If a later step writes back into the very place your trigger watches, the Zap fires again and again, sending duplicate texts and burning tasks fast.
  • Big imports held back

After a bulk import, the trigger app can return a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection may hold it, which is often a blessing with SMS.

FAQ

LAfricaMobile Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the LAfricaMobile Zapier integration free?
Yes. LAfricaMobile is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, which includes 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is size: a free Zap is limited to two steps, one trigger and one action. A simple form to SMS Zap fits. Add a filter or a second action and you need a paid plan. Note too that on the free plan a polling trigger in the starting app is checked every 15 minutes.
02How many tasks does sending an SMS use?
One task per Send SMS that completes successfully. The trigger in the other app costs nothing, and the checks Zapier runs to look for new data are free as well. If the send fails, no task is counted. In a Zap with several actions, each successful action is billed separately, so a Zap that texts and then updates a sheet uses two tasks per run. Keep that in mind against the 100 tasks of the free plan.
03Is it real time?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, since LAfricaMobile has no trigger of its own. If that app offers an instant trigger, it reports the event to Zapier straight away and the SMS follows right after, whatever your plan. If its trigger is polling, Zapier checks on a timer set by your plan: every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Pick an instant trigger when speed matters.
04What does connecting LAfricaMobile require?
An active LAfricaMobile account, which you sign in to during the connection. Then, inside the Send SMS step, you enter your Login (account ID) and Password. Both are provided when your LAfricaMobile account is created or from Mon Espace. You also need a sender name declared in the countries you send to. Zapier cannot create any of these for you, so gather all of them before you start building the Zap.
05Why does an SMS not arrive even though the Zap ran?
The most common reason is the sender name. The action notes that a sender which is not declared in the destination country may stop the message from reaching its recipient. Use a declared sender for each country you target, or LAM while testing, and always send a test text to your own number before you publish the Zap. Also make sure the recipient field holds the number itself, mapped from the step that started the Zap.
06What if the LAfricaMobile operation you are after is not available?
Then the Zapier integration cannot do it today. It exposes one action only, Send SMS, with no trigger and no search. So a Zap cannot react to anything that happens in LAfricaMobile, and it cannot look up past messages. The workaround is to keep LAfricaMobile at the end of the chain and let another app provide the event and the data. Anything beyond sending has to happen inside LAfricaMobile itself, or through a different automation tool.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LAfricaMobile?
Judge by criteria rather than by a winner. Zapier has a ready-made LAfricaMobile app with one action, so a sending Zap is quick to set up and needs no code. Check whether Make or n8n offer an equivalent before comparing them. Then weigh the volume you expect, since Zapier bills each successful send as a task, the number of steps your flow needs, and whether your team prefers a guided editor or a more technical one.
