Nemonic Zapier integrationAutomate Nemonic with Zapier.

Nemonic Zapier integration: 0 triggers, 2 actions, 0 searches. Nemonic only sits at the receiving end: another app starts the Zap, then the inkless printer puts a text note or an image on sticky paper. Both actions run on the free plan inside a two-step Zap.

Overview

What the Nemonic Zapier integration actually does

The Nemonic Zapier integration turns an event in another app into a printed sticky note. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) watches that other app, and when the event shows up, it sends a line of text or an image link to your Nemonic printer. Nemonic never starts anything itself: it has no trigger on Zapier, only two print actions.

Three things you can get out of it. First, a printed reminder: Print Text takes a sentence built from the previous step and lays it on a sticky note, so the reminder sits on your desk rather than in a tab. Second, a printed visual: Print Image takes the link of a picture and prints it, as long as another app hands that image over as a link. Third, both at once: a Zap with a text note followed by an image, which is a multi-step Zap and needs a paid plan.

What Zapier does not do for Nemonic matters just as much. There is no trigger, so nothing that happens on the printer can start a Zap. There is no search step either, so a Zap cannot look up a printer or a past note. And a Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on: notes you wanted from last week will not print by themselves. If you are still deciding whether Zapier is the right tool at all, read our Zapier review or the Make vs Zapier comparison before you build.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary, in one minute

Seven words come back on this page. Here they are in plain English, once, so the rest reads without a dictionary.

Zap
The automation itself: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. With Nemonic, it always comes from another app, since Nemonic has none.
Action
What the Zap does once started. Here, that means printing a text note or an image on the Nemonic printer.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Each print that goes through counts as one task.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, so nothing waits.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a printed note costs you in tasks

Nemonic is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only the printing counts.

  • Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, Nemonic works on the free plan
  • Cost of one print1 task when it succeeds, 0 when it fails

The trigger from the other app never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new items. Each print that succeeds is one task. A print that does not go through is not counted. If your Zap prints a note and then an image, that is two tasks per run, and two actions make it a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan. The same goes for a filter. On the free plan you get 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, each limited to one trigger and one action. Nemonic has no trigger, so the interval grid below concerns only the other app's trigger, when it is a polling one; it never applies to an instant trigger.

Connect

Connect Nemonic to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Nemonic account linked once, then reused by every step that prints. You need a Nemonic account before you start.

  2. 02

    Pick Nemonic and sign in

Type Nemonic in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Nemonic side: sign in there with your Nemonic account.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to access the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. That single connection then serves both print actions, Print Text and Print Image.

First Zap

Your first Zap: print a reminder only when it matters

GoalA new response arrives in your form tool, a filter keeps only the ones you care about, and Nemonic prints the reminder as a text note.

  1. 01

Pick the trigger in the other app

Create a Zap and choose the app that starts it, then its event. Nemonic cannot open a Zap, so the first step always belongs to another tool. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items so you map a real one.

  2. 02

    Add a filter

From the plus icon, add Filter and fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare with. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so this version needs a paid plan.

  3. 03

    Add Print Text

Add Nemonic, pick Print Text, choose your printer, then fill the text with fields from the trigger. Paper Length and Sticky Direction are mandatory too: set them before moving on.

  4. 04

    Test the print

Run the Nemonic step once, read what came back, and check the result on the printer before going any further. If something looks off, adjust the step settings and test again.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, only new responses that pass the filter print a note; anything that arrived before publishing stays where it was.

Actions

Nemonic actions on Zapier

Nemonic gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Print Image

Action

In Zapier“Print an image from URL with Nemonic printer”

Fetches a picture from a link and prints it on sticky paper, so a visual handed over by another app ends up on paper instead of in an inbox.

When to use it
the trigger carries an image link and you want that image physically on hand.
Watch out
the action expects a URL, not a file; on top of Printer, Paper Length and Sticky Direction, it also requires Image Fit Option. Check the result at the test step.
2

Print Text

Action

In Zapier“Print a text note with Nemonic printer”

Sends a line of text from the previous step to your printer and comes out as a sticky note.

When to use it
a reminder you want in front of you, built from a form answer or a new task title.
Watch out
Printer, Paper Length and Sticky Direction are all mandatory, so the step stays incomplete until each one is set.
When it breaks

When a Nemonic Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Nemonic, so the cases below are the general limits of any Zap, applied to a printer.

None of them is specific to Nemonic, and each one has a plain fix. If a Zap still misbehaves after these checks, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Old items never print

A Zap reacts only to what happens after you switch it on. Responses or rows that existed before publishing will not print; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A loop can burn your tasks

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and each print counts as a task.
  • A big batch gets held back

When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of printing them all.
  • The same item does not print twice

On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

Nemonic Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Nemonic Zapier integration free?
Yes. Nemonic is not a premium app, so both print actions run on the free Zapier plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, but each Zap is limited to two steps: one trigger from another app and one Nemonic action. Printing a text note and an image in the same Zap, or adding a filter before the print, makes it a multi-step Zap, and that needs a paid plan or the free trial. Check the plan you are on before you design anything longer than two steps.
02How many tasks does printing a note use?
One task per print that succeeds. The trigger in the other app costs nothing, and Zapier checking that app for new items costs nothing either, however often it looks. A print that fails is not counted against your plan. If one Zap runs Print Text and then Print Image, each run uses two tasks, because every successful action counts on its own. With 100 tasks on the free plan, the count of prints per month is the number to watch, not the number of Zaps you build.
03Does Nemonic print instantly?
It depends on the other app, because Nemonic has no trigger of its own. If the trigger you pick is instant, the app reports the event to Zapier itself and the Zap runs straight away, whatever the plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer that depends on your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. The app page on Zapier shows which kind each trigger is, and a lightning bolt marks an instant one in the editor.
04What does connecting Nemonic to Zapier require?
An account on Nemonic, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection starts from the Apps page of your Zapier account with + Add connection; you then search Nemonic, click Add connection, sign in to Nemonic in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. The connection is made once and reused by every step that prints. Both actions then ask you to pick a printer in the mandatory Printer field.
05Why does the Printer field stay empty in Zapier?
Because the Printer field is mandatory on Print Text and on Print Image. When the list comes back empty, the field shows a link for when no printer appears or you want to add a new one. Add the printer there, then come back to the step and pick it. Paper Length and Sticky Direction are mandatory too, and Print Image also requires Image Fit Option. Whether a given setting gives the result you expect is something to check at the test step.
06What if the Nemonic action you need is not there?
Then the Zapier integration simply does not offer it today. Nemonic on Zapier has two visible actions, Print Text and Print Image, and no trigger or search. The app page on Zapier shows the current list of operations, so that is the place to look before building. If what you want is a reaction to something happening on the printer, no Zap can start from Nemonic: the starting event has to come from another app, with Nemonic printing at the end.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Nemonic?
Decide on criteria, not on a ranking. On Zapier, Nemonic is available with two print actions and no trigger, so it fits flows where another app does the watching. First check whether Make or n8n list Nemonic at all in their own catalog. Then look at length: Zapier's free plan stops at two steps, so a filter or a second print means paying. Finally, look at how each tool counts usage; on Zapier, only a successful print costs a task.
