Overview

What the Neto Commerce Zapier integration does for you

The Neto Commerce Zapier integration links your Neto store, which runs your web shop, your counter sales and your marketplace listings in one place, to your other tools through Zapier. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions) can react to what happens in the store and write orders, customers or items back into it.

Paid orders in your books. New Paid Order picks up each order once it is paid, and the Zap writes a line to the spreadsheet or accounting tool you reconcile from.

Abandoned carts someone follows up. New Cart spots carts left behind, so your team hears about them in its chat tool and can decide what to do.

A catalog kept in line with a spreadsheet. A row changes in your sheet, Find Item locates the product by searching, then Update Item changes it, matched on its SKU.

Searches play a big part here: seven of them, and six come with a find-or-create mode that creates the missing order, customer, item, payment, return or content page.

What Zapier does not do here: none of the twelve triggers is instant, so each one waits for Zapier's next check. There is no action to delete anything, and no search for several orders or customers at once. And every search adds a step, so a Zap using one needs a paid plan. See our Make vs Zapier comparison.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, explained once

Eight words come back all over this page. Here they are, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. Each action your Zap completes successfully counts as one task on your plan.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer; an instant one is reported by the app as it happens. All Neto Commerce triggers are polling ones.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What the Neto Commerce Zapier integration costs you

Neto Commerce is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works from the free plan. Zapier counts in tasks, never in checks.

  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • Trigger check0 tasks
  • Successful action1 task each
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps

The trigger costs nothing, however often Zapier looks at your store. Each action that succeeds counts as one task, and one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, capped at two steps. A filter, any of the seven searches or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval below applies to all twelve Neto Commerce triggers. Checks stay free.

Connect

Connect Neto Commerce to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Neto account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Neto step you add.

  2. 02

    Pick Neto Commerce

Type Neto Commerce in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Neto side, where the sign-in happens.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Neto Commerce in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: alert the team about abandoned carts

GoalWhen Neto Commerce records an abandoned cart that meets your condition, post a message in your team chat.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Start a new Zap, choose Neto Commerce and New Cart. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent carts of the store, so you set up the rest on a real one.

  2. 02

    Add a filter

Add a filter with the field to look at, the rule and the value, so only the carts worth a follow-up reach the team. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  3. 03

    Add the message

Add your team chat as the action and its send-message event. Write the text and insert the cart details the test brought back.

  4. 04

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back before going further. When the message looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

Neto Commerce triggers on Zapier

12 events start a Zap when something happens in Neto Commerce. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Cart

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when new abandoned carts are made.”

Starts a Zap when a shopper leaves a cart behind in your Neto store. Each abandoned cart becomes an item your team or another tool can act on.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when abandoned carts should land in a list someone reviews, rather than stay buried in the store admin.
Watch out
carts abandoned before you publish the Zap are not picked up, only the ones that follow.
2

New Completed Order

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new completed orders (dispatched or cancelled).”

Fires when an order reaches the end of its road, which in Neto means dispatched or cancelled. Both outcomes come through the same trigger.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
to close the loop in another tool once an order is done, such as a delivery tracker or a review request list.
Watch out
a cancelled order also counts as completed, so add a filter if only dispatched ones matter.
3

New Content

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when new content pages are made.”

Picks up each new content page created in your Neto store. Pages you publish on the shop can then be announced or listed elsewhere.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when a new page on the store should be shared with the team or logged in a spreadsheet.
Watch out
a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again. Check at test.
4

New Customer

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new customer is made.”

Watches for customers created in Neto and hands each one to the next step. Your mailing tool or CRM can then hold the same people as your store.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when each new buyer should join a newsletter list or a customer sheet.
Watch out
the trigger offers an Is Active setting, so check at test which customers it lets through.
5

New Item

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when new items are created.”

Kicks in when a new item is added to your Neto catalog. Every product you create becomes an event other tools can use.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when a new product should appear in a catalog sheet, a team channel or another sales tool.
Watch out
a bulk import of items can come back as one huge batch, which Zapier's flood protection may hold back.
6

New Order

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new orders.”

Reacts to every new order placed in your store. Of the order triggers, it is the one that waits for nothing else.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when the team should see each order as it comes in, before payment or dispatch.
Watch out
if only paid orders matter to the next step, New Paid Order fits better than a filter on this one.
7

New Paid Order

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new paid orders.”

Hands over orders once they are paid. Your books then start from money that is actually in, not from orders still open.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
to log revenue in an accounting sheet, or to tell your team an order is confirmed.
Watch out
orders paid before the Zap goes live are not picked up.
8

New Payment

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new payments.”

Fires on each payment recorded in Neto, as a payment rather than as an order. The event is the money, not the basket.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when your bookkeeping follows money received, not orders placed.
Watch out
a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off.
9

New RMA

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new RMAs.”

Starts when a new RMA, a return request, is created in your store. Returns reach the people who handle them without anyone checking the admin.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when each return should become a ticket or a message in another tool.
Watch out
returns opened before the Zap is published do not come through.
10

Updated Customer

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer is updated.”

Goes off when an existing customer record changes in Neto. Edits made in the store can then follow into your other tools.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
to keep a CRM or mailing list in line with the customer data your store holds.
Watch out
a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can loop, so check at test.
11

New Updated Order

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers on new updated orders.”

Picks up orders that have just been modified. Status moves and other edits become events you can pass on.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
when a change on an order should update a tracker or warn your team.
Watch out
a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again.
12

Updated Item

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an item is updated.”

Comes through when an item already in your catalog is edited. Product changes made in Neto can then reach the tools that copy your catalog.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
to mirror product edits into a catalog sheet or a sales channel you feed by hand today.
Watch out
a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches risks a loop.
Actions

Neto Commerce actions on Zapier

Neto Commerce gives you 9 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Content

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new content page.”

Creates a content page in your store. Content Name and Content Type are required; options set whether it is active, on the menu or on the site map.

When to use it
when pages are drafted in another tool and should land in Neto.
2

Create Customer

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new customer.”

Adds a customer to your store. Only the Email Address is required, and you can mark the person as a Newsletter Subscriber.

When to use it
when a sign-up form or an event list should feed your customer base directly.
3

Create Item

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new item.”

Puts a new item in your Neto catalog. The SKU is the one required field; many optional switches cover visibility, tax and where the item is sold.

When to use it
when new products are prepared in a sheet or another tool first.
4

Create Order

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new order.”

Records a new order in Neto from another sales channel. Order ID, Username and Email are required.

When to use it
when orders taken elsewhere should be handled in your Neto store like the rest.
Watch out
all three values come from earlier steps, so check at test that each one is mapped.
5

Update Order

Action

In Zapier“Updates an existing order.”

Changes an existing order, found by its Order ID; Email is required too.

When to use it
when another tool, such as a shipping or approval step, should change the order in Neto.
Watch out
when the Order ID is not at hand, put a Find Order step first.
6

Create Payment

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new payment.”

Records a payment against an order. Order ID, Payment Method, Card Authorisation, Amount Paid and Date Paid are all required.

When to use it
when money is collected outside the store and the order should show it. Map each one from the tool that took the money.
7

Create RMA

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new RMA.”

Opens a return in Neto. It is the most demanding action: Order ID, Invoice Number, Customer and Staff Usernames, Purchase Order Number, Internal Notes and the shipping refund amount and tax code are required.

When to use it
when returns are requested through a form or a help desk.
8

Update Customer

Action

In Zapier“Updates an existing customer.”

Edits an existing customer, identified by Username, with the Email Address required as well.

When to use it
to sync a newsletter opt-in or a change made in your CRM back into the store.
Watch out
a Find Customer step gets you the right customer first.
9

Update Item

Action

In Zapier“Updates an existing item.”

Changes an item already in your catalog, matched on its SKU. The same optional switches as Create Item are available.

When to use it
when product data maintained in a sheet should flow back into Neto.
Watch out
use Find Item before it when the earlier step does not carry the SKU.
Searches

Neto Commerce searches on Zapier

7 search steps look for data that already exists in Neto Commerce, so a later step can use it.

A search step looks up something that already exists in your store, so the next steps can use it. In the action list, searches sit at the bottom under SEARCH. Each adds a step, so a Zap with a search needs a paid plan. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not a single clean match.

1

Find Content

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds content by searching.”

Looks up a content page of your store, with optional criteria such as active, on the menu or on the site map. Find or Create Content is this same search with creation switched on.

When to use it
to avoid a duplicate page before Create Content.
2

Find Customer

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds a customer by searching.”

Searches your customers, with optional criteria such as credit hold or newsletter status. Find or Create Customer, also in the editor, is the same search that creates the customer when none matches.

When to use it
before Update Customer, when the earlier step does not carry the Username; check at test what the search returns.
3

Find Multiple Items

Search

In Zapier“Finds multiple items and returns them as line items. Useful for comparing multiple items.”

Returns several items at once, as line items, rather than a single match. It suits comparing products side by side in a later step.

When to use it
when a quote or a report needs a set of products, not one.
Watch out
it has no find-or-create mode.
4

Find Item

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds a item by searching.”

Finds one item of your catalog, with optional criteria such as approved for POS or active. Find or Create Item is the same search with creation ticked.

When to use it
before Update Item, when the earlier step knows the product but not its SKU.
5

Find Order

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds an existing order by searching.”

Locates an existing order. Find or Create Order is this search with creation enabled, not another operation.

When to use it
before Update Order, Create Payment or Create RMA.
Watch out
its Exported To WMS flag is set each time the order is fetched and reset when the status changes; check at test before relying on it.
6

Find Payment

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds an existing payment by searching.”

Looks for a payment already recorded in Neto. Find or Create Payment is the same search that records the payment when it is missing.

When to use it
to check a payment exists before you write it again from your payment tool.
7

Find RMA

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds an existing RMA by searching.”

Retrieves an existing return. Find or Create RMA is this search with creation switched on.

When to use it
when a help desk Zap should check a return already exists before opening another with Create RMA. It also offers Split Kit Components.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there. Switched on, the Zap carries on without a result.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
Ticking it turns the search into a find-or-create: it drops the setting above and asks for the fields needed to create the missing item. Six Neto searches offer it.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Keep the first match (the default), stop the Zap, or hand every match on at once.
When it breaks

When the Neto Commerce Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Neto Commerce, so the known weak spots are the general ones of any Zap.

Four of them matter for a store. If a Zap stops doing what you expect, our Zapier troubleshooting guide is the next stop.

  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Orders, customers and items already in the store are not picked up, and moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burns through your tasks fast.
  • A big batch held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • The same order never runs twice

On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap a second time.

FAQ

Neto Commerce Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the Neto Commerce Zapier integration free?
Yes, within the free plan's limits. Neto Commerce is not a premium app, so you can use it without a paid Zapier plan. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, each capped at two steps: one trigger and one action. The seven Neto searches add a step, as does a filter or a second action, so any Zap using them needs a paid plan. New Paid Order followed by a spreadsheet row stays free.
02How many Zapier tasks does a Neto Commerce Zap use?
One task for each action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. Zapier can check your store as often as your plan allows without spending a task. A Zap that logs each paid order in a sheet costs one task per order. A Zap that finds an item and then updates it counts one task for Update Item. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Loops are the thing to watch, since a store Zap that writes where its trigger looks can restart itself.
03Does Neto Commerce trigger Zaps in real time?
No. All twelve Neto Commerce triggers are polling triggers. Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one, 2 minutes on Professional, 1 minute on Team and Enterprise. On the paid plans you can change how often a polling trigger checks, and run a check by hand from the editor. An order paid just after a check waits for the next one.
04What does it take to connect Neto Commerce to Zapier?
An account on Neto Commerce, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Start from the Apps page of your Zapier account with + Add connection, pick Neto Commerce, sign in in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Before building, gather what the actions identify things by: SKUs for items, Usernames for customers, Order IDs for payments and returns.
05Why does Find Order mark orders as exported?
Find Order carries an Exported To WMS flag, short for warehouse management system. That flag is set each time the order is fetched, and reset when the order status changes. If another tool of yours relies on that flag, test the search on a real order and check the flag afterwards. The same search also offers Split Kit Components, which decides whether kits show as one item or as their parts.
06What if the Neto Commerce operation you need is not there?
Check the Neto Commerce page on Zapier, which shows the current list of triggers, actions and searches. Today that is 12 triggers, 9 actions and 7 searches, with nothing to delete. Many gaps close by chaining steps: Find Order then Create RMA to open a return on an order the earlier step does not name by its ID. When no chain fits, the job needs another route than the steps Neto Commerce offers on Zapier.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Neto Commerce?
It depends on what you weigh most. On Zapier, Neto Commerce brings 28 operations, twelve polling triggers and billing per successful action. If you mostly push store events to a sheet or a chat in two steps, the free plan is a fair start. Syncing a catalog with search then update needs a paid plan, so compare how each platform bills a run with several steps, how often it checks for new orders, and which Neto operations it exposes.
