Overview

What the Network Leads Zapier integration does for you

Network Leads is a cloud CRM for moving companies: leads, sales, marketing, operations and billing in one place. The Zapier integration links it to the rest of your tools through Zaps (an automation on Zapier: one trigger that starts it, then one or more actions that run each time). Leads can leave Network Leads, and leads can come in.

Three results come back again and again. A lead log outside the CRM: New Lead hands every fresh lead to another tool, a spreadsheet for example, so the people who never open Network Leads still see the pipeline. A hand-picked feed: Automation Triggered starts a Zap only when an automation you built in Network Leads, with Zapier as its action, actually runs, so the CRM decides what leaves it. Leads that arrive by themselves: Post Lead and Post Lead (Moving) create the lead in your account from a form answer or a row that lives somewhere else.

The detail worth knowing before you pick a trigger: of the 2 triggers, Automation Triggered is the only instant one. It reacts right away, even on the free plan. New Lead waits for the check interval of your plan, which is 15 minutes on the free one. When speed matters, Automation Triggered is the trigger to look at first.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. There is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an existing lead before acting. There is no action to update or delete a lead either: the integration reads new leads and posts new ones, nothing more.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, here a new lead or an automation run.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like posting a lead.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. It asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Network Leads Zap really costs

Network Leads is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. What you pay for is tasks, never triggers.

  • TriggerNever costs a task
  • Successful action1 task each
  • Failed actionNot counted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, free plan is enough

Watching for leads is free, however often Zapier checks. Each action that goes through counts as one task, and an action that fails is not counted. A Zap with three actions uses three times what a one-action Zap uses. The free plan stops at two steps: add a filter or a second action and the Zap needs a paid plan. The interval grid below only concerns New Lead; it does not apply to Automation Triggered, which is instant.

Connect

Connect your Network Leads account in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Add the connection from Apps

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type Network Leads in the dialog, pick it in the results, then confirm with Add connection.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Network Leads

A tab opens on Network Leads: sign in there. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  3. 03

    Grant access, then reuse it

Grant Zapier access to the account. That connection (your Network Leads account linked once) is then reused by every step that uses the app, in this Zap and in the ones you build later.

First Zap

Your first Zap: new leads into a spreadsheet, filtered

GoalSend every new Network Leads lead that matches your rule to a spreadsheet row.

  1. 01

Build: pick Network Leads and New Lead

Create a Zap, choose Network Leads as the app that starts it and New Lead as the event, then select the connection you added earlier.

  2. 02

Test the trigger on real leads

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the account, so you pick a real one and map fields from actual data.

  3. 03

    Add the filter (paid plan)

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet action

Add your spreadsheet as the next step, choose the action that adds a row, and map each column to a field of the lead you picked at test.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right, publish the Zap to switch it on. From then on, each new lead that passes the filter costs one task.

Triggers

The 2 Network Leads triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in Network Leads, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Automation Triggered

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new automation with the action 'Zapier' in Network Leads is triggered.”

Inside Network Leads you can build an automation whose action is Zapier. Each time that automation runs, this trigger starts your Zap, so the rules you already wrote in the CRM decide what goes out.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
when you would rather choose inside Network Leads which events leave the CRM, instead of sorting them with a Zapier filter.
Watch out
nothing arrives until an automation with the Zapier action exists and runs, so create it in Network Leads first, then check at test what the Zap receives.
2

New Lead

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is received.”

Every lead received in your Network Leads account becomes a new start for the Zap. It is the plain entry point: nothing to build in the CRM, the lead itself is the event.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
to copy each new lead to a spreadsheet or another tool where a short wait does not hurt anyone.
Watch out
leads received before you publish the Zap are never picked up; only the ones that come in afterwards start it.
Actions

The 2 Network Leads actions

Network Leads gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Post Lead

Action

In Zapier“Post a lead to your account”

Creates a lead in your Network Leads account from what an earlier step brought in, a form answer or a spreadsheet row for instance. You map that data onto the lead fields.

When to use it
when leads land in another tool first and should reach the CRM without anyone retyping them.
Watch out
the Unique Key field is required; check at test which key your account accepts.
2

Post Lead (Moving)

Action

In Zapier“Post a lead to your account (for moving companies)”

The variant meant for moving companies. It posts the lead to your account, and its required Unique Key is the one of a lead source set up in Network Leads.

When to use it
when you run a moving business on Network Leads and the leads you post come through one of the lead sources you set up there.
Watch out
the key lives in Network Leads under Settings, then Leads, then Sources; have the source ready before you map the field, then check the result at test.
When it breaks

When a Network Leads Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Network Leads, so the cases below are Zapier's own limits. They apply here as on any app.

Read them before you publish. If a run still behaves in a way you did not expect, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • No catch-up on old leads

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Leads already sitting in Network Leads are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your task count fast.
  • Flood protection on big batches

After a bulk import or a migration, a trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch of items can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
  • The same lead never runs twice

On New Lead, Zapier keeps track of the leads it has already seen, so the same lead does not start the Zap a second time.

FAQ

Network Leads and Zapier: frequent questions

01Is the Network Leads Zapier integration free?
Yes. Network Leads is not a premium app, so its triggers and actions work on Zapier's free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. New Lead is checked every 15 minutes there. The moment you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Network Leads itself stays usable on the free plan for every two-step Zap.
02How many tasks does a Network Leads Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing else. The trigger never costs a task, whether it is New Lead or Automation Triggered, and Zapier checking for new leads is free however often it looks. A Zap that posts one lead with Post Lead uses one task per lead. If you chain three actions, every successful one counts on its own, so the same lead costs three tasks. An action that fails is not counted against your plan.
03Does Network Leads work with Zapier in real time?
It depends on the trigger. Automation Triggered is instant: Network Leads tells Zapier the moment the automation runs, and the Zap starts right away on any plan. New Lead is a polling trigger: Zapier checks at a fixed interval, every 15 minutes on Free, 2 minutes on Professional, 1 minute on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans you can also run a check by hand from the editor. A Zap built on Automation Triggered shows a lightning bolt in the editor.
04What does connecting Network Leads to Zapier require?
An account on Network Leads, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection starts from the Apps page of your Zapier account, with + Add connection. You pick Network Leads, sign in to it in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. The connection is saved once and every later step that uses Network Leads reuses it, so you do not repeat this for each Zap.
05Why does Post Lead (Moving) ask for a Unique Key?
Because the field is required, and the app describes it as the unique key of the lead source. You create or view that key inside Network Leads under Settings, then Leads, then Sources. Have it ready before you set up the step, then paste or map it, so the test runs on a real value. Post Lead asks for a Unique Key too; run the step test to check which value your account accepts before you publish.
06What if the Network Leads operation you need is not listed?
Then the Zapier editor cannot do it with this app today. Network Leads offers 2 triggers and 2 actions: no search, no update, no deletion. The Network Leads page on Zapier shows the current list, so check it before you plan a Zap around a missing step. Without a search, a Zap cannot find a lead that already exists, so plan your Zaps around new leads and new automation runs only.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Network Leads?
Decide by criteria rather than by brand. On Zapier, Network Leads is ready to use: 4 operations, a connection in three steps, and the free plan is enough for a two-step Zap. The first thing to check elsewhere is whether Make or n8n offers Network Leads at all, which their own catalogs answer. Then look at volume: Zapier bills each successful action as a task, so a Zap posting many leads through several actions grows its bill with every step you add.
