What the Nove Zapier integration does for a styling business
Nove is where a stylist builds, runs and grows the business: clients, their profiles, their follow-up. Zapier is a tool that links apps together without code. Connected, a new client or a new tag in Nove can start something elsewhere, and a form or a CRM can create the client in Nove for you.
A client list that copies itself. Customer Created sends each new client to a spreadsheet, a mailing tool or your accounting, so nobody retypes a name.
Tags that start a follow-up. Customer Tag Updated reacts when you add a tag to an existing client. Tag someone as ready for a lookbook and the next tool takes over.
Leads that arrive already filed. Create Customer opens the client record in Nove from a booking form or a lead tool, with the email as the only required field.
What Zapier does not do here: there is no search step, so a Zap cannot check whether a client already exists before creating it. There is no update action either, and no trigger beyond new clients and new tags. Both triggers check on a timer, so nothing is instant.
One honest limit before you start: with only three operations, Nove works best as one end of a Zap, not as the place where all the logic lives.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Six words come back across this page. Here they are, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in Nove (or another app) that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that creates, updates or sends something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action that completed successfully; your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling means Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer. Instant means the app calls Zapier the moment it happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
What a Nove Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not triggers. Checking Nove for new clients costs nothing, however often it happens; each action that succeeds counts once.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Steps on the free plan1 trigger + 1 action
- Paid plan required for NoveNo
- Nove polling triggers2 of 2
A Zap with two actions uses two tasks per run, and a failed action is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Nove is open to free accounts. Both Nove triggers are polling, so the grid below decides how long a new client waits before the Zap sees it.
Connect your Nove account in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Nove account linked once, then reused by every Zap that touches Nove.
- 02
Pick Nove
Type Nove in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing Nove account, with access to the client records you want the Zap to read or write.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A new tab opens on Nove. Sign in with the account the Zaps should act as, then allow Zapier to access it. From then on, every Nove step of every Zap reuses this one connection.
Your first Nove Zap
GoalTag a client in Nove and she joins the right email sequence, without exporting anything.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap in the editor, choose Nove as the app and Customer Tag Updated as the event, then select your Nove connection.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent tagged clients of your account, so you set the next steps up on a real client instead of guessing.
- 03
Add a filter on the tag
Add a Filter step so only the tag you use for follow-ups goes through. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the email action
Add your mailing tool as the action, pick the audience and map the client's email from the Nove trigger into the subscriber field.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action and check that the client shows up in your mailing tool. When it does, click Publish to switch the Zap on for good.
Nove triggers: what can start a Zap
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Nove. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Customer Created
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new customer is created.”
Picks up each client added to Nove since the last check and sends it down the Zap. It is the starting point for any routine that should follow a new client, from a welcome sequence to a row in your bookkeeping.
Customer Tag Updated
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new tag is added to an existing customer.”
Fires when a new tag lands on a client who already exists in Nove. Tags become switches: you sort a client by hand, and the Zap does the rest elsewhere.
Nove action: what a Zap can do
Nove gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Create a customer in Nove”
Adds a new client to Nove from data that came out of another app, so the record exists before the first session.
When a Nove Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Nove and lists no specific limit for it. What breaks is what breaks on any polling Zap.
These four cases cover most surprises in the first weeks. The Zapier troubleshooting page goes further when a run fails without a clear reason.
Existing clients are never sent
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Clients already in Nove stay where they are, and moving that history is a separate job.The Zap feeds itself
A Zap that runs Create Customer while another watches Customer Created can loop and burn tasks. Keep the two flows apart or add a filter.A bulk import gets held back
Importing many clients at once can trip Zapier's flood protection, which holds the batch back instead of running everything. The same client is not sent twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so a client edited later does not start Customer Created again.
