NowDraft Zapier integrationAutomate NowDraft with Zapier.
The NowDraft Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. Another app hands over a title idea, NowDraft writes the content, and the next step files it wherever your team works. Here is what it does, what it costs and where it trips.

What the NowDraft Zapier integration actually does
NowDraft is an AI writing tool: give it a title idea and it produces a piece of content around it. On Zapier it offers a single action, so it always sits in the middle of a Zap. Something else starts the Zap and supplies the idea, NowDraft writes, and another step decides where the draft goes.
Three outcomes people usually build around Generate AI Content:
An editorial calendar that drafts itself. Each new row in your planning sheet carries a title idea; the Zap sends it to NowDraft so the writer starts from a first version, not a blank page.
Drafts where the team reviews. The generated text goes straight into a document or a project card, so an editor reads and fixes it before anything is published.
Ideas captured on the go. A title typed into a form becomes a draft waiting for you later, without opening NowDraft at all.
What Zapier does not do for NowDraft: there is no trigger, so nothing that happens in NowDraft can start a Zap. There is no search either, and the only action writes new content; it doesn't edit or delete anything. Speed depends on the app that starts the Zap, not on NowDraft. Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. NowDraft has none, so with it the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills you for. One task is one action your Zap finished successfully, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself the second the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your NowDraft account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step in every Zap that touches NowDraft.
What it really costs
Every draft NowDraft writes successfully is one task. The trigger of the other app costs nothing, and a failed generation isn't counted.
- Generate AI ContentOne task per successful draft
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
NowDraft isn't a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and Zaps limited to two steps, one trigger and one action. The catch: trigger plus NowDraft already fills those two steps, so filing the draft somewhere needs a second action, which makes it a multi-step Zap and needs a paid plan. How fast the Zap starts depends on the trigger app and the grid below if that trigger polls.
Connect your NowDraft account
- 01
Open your Zapier apps
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box. Type NowDraft in it and pick it from the list.
- 02
Sign in to NowDraft
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on NowDraft. Sign in there with the account your team uses to generate content, the one you already work with every day.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to access the account. The connection is saved once. Every Zap that uses NowDraft will reuse it, so you sign in only once. Anything you don't own yourself needs access granted first.
Your first Zap: from title idea to draft document
GoalEach title idea added to your planning sheet becomes a NowDraft draft saved as a document.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick your spreadsheet app as the one that starts it, with its new row event. Choose the planning sheet where the title ideas go.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows, so you map the next step on a real title instead of a made-up one.
- 03
Add Generate AI Content
Pick NowDraft and Generate AI Content. Map the title column into Enter your title idea, the one field you can't skip. Test it and read the draft that comes back.
- 04
Save the draft
Add a document step and map NowDraft's text into it. This second action makes it a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test and publish
Test the whole chain once, open the document it created, then click Publish. From now on, each new title row produces a draft.
The NowDraft action
NowDraft gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Generate AI Content
ActionIn Zapier“Generate AI Content with NowDraft”
Takes a title idea passed along by an earlier step and asks NowDraft to write the content for it, so the following steps can store, send or review the result.
When a NowDraft Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to NowDraft, so the traps below are the general ones, applied to an AI writing step.
Most of them don't throw an error. The Zap just does less, or more, than you expected. If one of them bites, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the fix.
Old ideas never get drafted
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Title ideas already in your sheet stay as they are; drafting that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that feeds itself
Write the drafts back into the very sheet that starts the Zap and each new row sets it off again, burning through your task count fast. Store drafts elsewhere.A bulk paste gets held back
Paste a long list of ideas at once and the trigger may return a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can then hold it back instead of drafting each one.Tasks run out mid-month
Every successful draft costs a task, and so does the step that saves it. On the free plan's 100 tasks a month, a busy content calendar runs dry quickly.
