OfficeClip Zapier integrationAutomate OfficeClip with Zapier.
The OfficeClip Zapier integration is small: 1 trigger, 1 action and 0 searches, all of them about contacts. That is enough to keep your OfficeClip address book in step with your forms, sheets and mailing tools, as long as you know where it stops.

What the OfficeClip Zapier integration is good for
OfficeClip is a collaboration suite that groups a CRM, HR records, an issue tracker and project follow-up for a team. Its Zapier integration links only the contact side to other apps: a contact created in OfficeClip can start work elsewhere, and other tools can create contacts in OfficeClip.
Two directions, two typical results. Contacts that leave OfficeClip: New Contact picks up each person your team records, and the next step pushes them to a spreadsheet, a newsletter list or a team chat. Contacts that arrive in OfficeClip: a form, a webinar sign-up or a sheet row becomes an OfficeClip record through Create Contact, without anyone retyping it. A third result combines both with a filter in the middle, so only the leads that match your criteria reach OfficeClip.
What Zapier does not do here is just as clear. There is no search, so a Zap cannot check whether a contact already exists before creating it. There is no update or delete, so a record changed elsewhere stays unchanged in OfficeClip. And nothing touches the HR, issue tracker or project parts of the suite: the 2 operations are both about contacts.
If that scope feels tight, the n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons help you check what other automation tools offer before you commit.
Zapier words, explained in one minute
Seven terms come back throughout this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: a single starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event occurs.
- Trigger
- The event that kicks off the Zap, here a new contact appearing in OfficeClip. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- The step the Zap carries out after it starts: it creates, sends or updates something in an app on your behalf.
- Task
- What Zapier counts on your bill: one action that finished successfully. Your plan's monthly allowance is a number of these.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer. Instant: the app warns Zapier itself, at once. The OfficeClip trigger polls.
- Filter
- A checkpoint step: the Zap goes on only if what arrived matches the condition you set, and stops quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap with more than one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What it really costs
OfficeClip is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, not in Zaps.
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- BilledEach successful action; triggers are free
- FilterMakes the Zap multi-step, paid plan
The New Contact trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier checks OfficeClip. Each Create Contact that succeeds counts once, and a failed one is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Polling speed also follows the plan, as the grid below shows.
Connect your OfficeClip account in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an OfficeClip account, plus write access to the contacts if the address book belongs to someone else in your team.
- 02
Pick OfficeClip
Type OfficeClip in the search box of the dialog, choose it in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the OfficeClip side so you can identify yourself.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in with the OfficeClip account you want to automate and accept the access request. Zapier then saves the connection once and reuses it in every OfficeClip step of every Zap.
Your first Zap: send new OfficeClip contacts to your newsletter
GoalEach OfficeClip contact that has an email address joins your newsletter list.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose OfficeClip as the app and New Contact as the event, then select the OfficeClip connection you just added.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of your OfficeClip account, so you map fields on a real person rather than on placeholder data.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, pick Filter, then set the email field with a text rule that checks it exists. From here the Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the newsletter step
Choose your mailing tool and its subscriber action, then map the email, first name and last name that came from OfficeClip into the matching fields of your list.
- 05
Test and publish
Test the action once and check that the subscriber appears in your list. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The OfficeClip trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in OfficeClip. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Contact
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when new contact is created.”
Starts the Zap each time someone in your team adds a contact to OfficeClip, and passes that person's details to the following steps, ready to map.
The OfficeClip action
OfficeClip gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new contact in OfficeClip.”
Adds a new person to the OfficeClip address book from whatever earlier steps carried: a form answer, a sheet row, a booking.
When it breaks
Zapier links no help article to OfficeClip, so the cases below come from the general rules every polling app follows.
Four situations explain most of the surprises on an OfficeClip Zap. Check them before anything else, and call on the Zapier troubleshooting service if the Zap still misbehaves.
Older contacts never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts that were already in OfficeClip are never picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps creating contacts
A Zap started by New Contact that also runs Create Contact in the same OfficeClip account sets itself off again and again, and burns through your tasks fast.A bulk import is held back
After importing a large contact list into OfficeClip, the trigger may return a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection can then hold it back. The same contact does not fire twice
Zapier remembers which contacts it has already seen on a polling trigger. Editing a record later does not start the Zap again, by design.
