PickFu Zapier integrationAutomate PickFu with Zapier.
The PickFu Zapier integration gives you 2 instant triggers, 1 action and 2 searches. Enough to react when a poll is created or completes, publish a new poll from another app, and pull the results of a poll into the rest of your tools without copying anything by hand.

What the PickFu Zapier integration is for
PickFu lets you put a question in front of real people and collect their opinion quickly: which cover, which headline, which product photo. Zapier is the service that chains apps together. The integration links both, so a poll that starts or ends in PickFu can set off work in your other apps, and another app can launch a poll.
Three results worth building. Results that reach the team: Poll Complete starts the Zap, Get Poll Results fetches the answers, and the next step posts them where people decide. A poll launched from your pipeline: a design marked ready in another tool triggers Create Poll, with the question and the sample size already set. A log of every test: New Poll fires for each poll your team creates, so a spreadsheet or a project board keeps track of what is being tested.
What Zapier does not do here. There is a single action, and it only publishes Open-Ended or Head-To-Head polls with 1 to 4 options; any other poll format stays in PickFu. You cannot edit, stop or delete a poll from a Zap. And a Zap never looks back: polls created or finished before you switch it on are never picked up, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
If you are still choosing a tool, Zapier review and Make vs Zapier cover the wider question.
Zapier vocabulary in plain words
A handful of Zapier words come back throughout this page. Here they are, before you open the editor.
- Zap
- The automation you set up: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run again each time that event comes back.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. With the Zap switched on, Zapier waits for that event to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that creates, sends or updates something in an app for you.
- Task
- What Zapier bills you for: one action that went through. Your plan allowance is a number of these.
- Polling vs instant
- Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself as the event happens. Both PickFu triggers are instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the data that arrived meets a condition you chose, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists in an app and passes what it found to the steps after it.
What a PickFu Zap costs
PickFu is not a premium app on Zapier, so it runs on the free plan. Your Zapier bill follows the number of actions that succeed, never the number of polls.
- Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps
- Free plan Zap shapeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- TriggersNever cost a task
- Failed actionNot counted
Triggers cost nothing, and an action that fails is not counted. Each action that works is counted on its own: fetch results, then post them, then log them, and that is three tasks per completed poll. The free plan builds two-step Zaps only, one trigger and one action. Add a search such as Get Poll Results, or a filter, and the Zap becomes multi-step (anything past one trigger and one action), which needs a paid plan. The interval grid only concerns polling triggers; both PickFu triggers are instant, so it does not apply.
Connect PickFu to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Start a new connection
In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your PickFu account linked once, then reused by every PickFu step you add later.
- 02
Find PickFu
Type PickFu in the search box of the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. You need a PickFu account, plus access to any polls you do not own but want the Zap to read.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A new tab opens on PickFu. Sign in with the account your team uses for polls and allow Zapier in. The connection then appears in every PickFu step of the editor.
Your first Zap: a follow-up poll when one ends
GoalWhen a poll completes, fetch its results and publish a follow-up poll that narrows the choice.
- 01
Set the trigger
Create a Zap and pick PickFu with
Poll Completeas the event. Choose your connection, then the Poll owner: all completed polls, or only yours. - 02
Test it on a real poll
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the account, so you set the next steps on a poll that actually ran.
- 03
Fetch the results
Add
Get Poll Resultsand map the poll from the trigger rather than typing it. This search makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan. - 04
Publish the follow-up
Add
Create Poll. Write the new question (up to 255 characters), pick the sample size, and use the results returned by the search to choose its options. - 05
Test, then publish
Test each step once and read what came back before going further. When the follow-up poll looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 2 PickFu triggers
2 events start a Zap when something happens in PickFu, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Poll
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when someone on your team creates a poll.”
Starts the Zap each time a poll is created on your PickFu team, before any answer comes in. It is the hook for anything that should know a test is under way: a line in a tracking sheet, a heads-up to the person who owns the product, a card on a project board.
Poll Complete
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a poll completes (collects all responses or is manually stopped).”
Fires when a poll is done, either because it collected all its responses or because someone stopped it by hand. This is the trigger most teams want, because it marks the moment the answers are ready to be read and shared. Pair it with Get Poll Results to carry the answers forward.
The PickFu action
PickFu gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Poll
ActionIn Zapier“Publish an Open-Ended or Head-To-Head poll with 1-4 options”
Publishes a poll from another app: an Open-Ended poll or a Head-To-Head with 1 to 4 options, sent to the number of respondents you pick.
The 2 PickFu searches
2 search steps look for data that already exists in PickFu, so a later step can use it.
Searches sit at the bottom of the action event list, under SEARCH. Some fields also offer + Add search step, which inserts a search right before the current step. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not what you expected.
Get Poll Results
SearchIn Zapier“Fetch results for a specific poll ID.”
Fetches the results of one poll from its identifier, so the next steps can post, store or compare them.
Search Polls
SearchIn Zapier“Searches for PickFu polls and returns the first result.”
Looks through your PickFu polls and hands back the first one that matches, for a Zap that does not start from a poll event.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap goes on without that value.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet?Turns a search into find-or-create. PickFu exposes no such variant on Zapier, so this box never shows on its searches.
- If multiple search results are found?Three options when several items match: keep the first (the default), stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When a PickFu Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article and no limit specific to PickFu. What goes wrong comes from Zapier's own rules, and these four cases cover most of it.
Each comes from how Zapier works, not from PickFu, so knowing them saves guesswork. When a run fails outright, Zapier troubleshooting walks through the usual fixes.
Earlier polls never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Polls that ended before stay out; bringing them in is a separate job.The Zap feeds itself
A Zap on New Poll that also runs Create Poll starts again on its own poll, and the task count drains fast. Keep those two apart.A large batch is held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a very large batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back. The test shows the wrong poll
A trigger test brings back the three most recent items of the account. If none is the one you expected, run a real poll and test again.
