Why connect Notifyre SMS to Zapier
The Notifyre SMS Zapier integration links your text messages to the rest of your tools. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time) can start when a text reaches Notifyre, or end by sending one through Send SMS.
Three things it gets you. A reply inbox your team actually reads: every text that comes back through Receive SMS lands in a Slack channel or a sheet, so nobody has to log in to Notifyre to check. Appointment or delivery texts sent from the tool where the event happens, with Send SMS at the end of a Zap that starts in your booking app or your store. And a simple acknowledgment loop: an incoming text gets logged, then a short confirmation goes back to the sender.
What Zapier won't do here, since the listing stays quiet on it. There is no search, so a Zap can't look up a contact or a past message in Notifyre. There's no action to manage contacts or lists either. And the only trigger polls on a timer, so incoming texts reach your other tools after a wait that depends on your plan, never the instant they arrive.
Comparing platforms? The Make vs Zapier comparison sets out the criteria (pricing model, branching, learning curve) without picking for you.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on this page. Here they are once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation itself: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every single time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Here: a text received by Notifyre.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like sending an SMS.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's monthly number counts exactly those.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier the moment the event happens. Receive SMS polls.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and quietly stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it needs a paid plan.
What it really costs
Notifyre SMS is not a premium app, so it runs on Zapier's free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and only the steps that act after the trigger use them.
- Premium appNo, free plan works
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Free plan Zap size2 steps: 1 trigger, 1 action
- Cost of Receive SMS0 tasks
Receive SMS never costs a task, however often Zapier checks for new texts. Each Send SMS that goes through counts as one task, and a failed send counts for nothing. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only, and a check every 15 minutes. Log a reply and send a confirmation in the same Zap, and that's two actions: a multi-step Zap on a paid plan, and two tasks per incoming text.
Connect your Notifyre SMS account
- 01
Open Apps
In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Notifyre account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that reads or sends texts.
- 02
Pick Notifyre SMS
Search for Notifyre SMS in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing Notifyre account; Zapier won't open one for you along the way.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A tab opens on Notifyre. Sign in and allow Zapier to use the account. If the account belongs to your company, check that your login is allowed to send messages.
Your first Zap: log a reply, confirm receipt
GoalEvery incoming text is saved in a sheet and the sender gets a short confirmation.
- 01
Pick Receive SMS
Create a Zap, choose Notifyre SMS and Receive SMS, then your connection. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent texts so you map on a real one.
- 02
Log the message
Add Google Sheets and create a row. Map the sender's number and the text into your columns. That's one task per incoming message.
- 03
Add Send SMS
Add Notifyre SMS again with Send SMS. Map the sender's number into To SMS Number and write a short confirmation. A second action makes this a paid-plan Zap.
- 04
Test on your own phone
Run each step once and read what comes back. A test really sends, so send yourself a text first and let the Zap answer your own number.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish. From now on, each new text is logged and answered, two tasks per message. Texts received before this moment are left alone.
The Notifyre SMS trigger on Zapier
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Notifyre SMS. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Receive SMS
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an SMS text is received.”
Starts your Zap each time a text reaches your Notifyre account, carrying the sender's number and the message into the next steps so another app can file it, share it or answer it.
The Notifyre SMS action on Zapier
Notifyre SMS gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Send SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Create and send an SMS.”
Sends a text from your Notifyre account to the number you give it, with a message built from whatever the earlier steps collected.
When it breaks
Zapier ties no help article to Notifyre SMS, so the known failure points are the ones every Zap shares.
Four of them hit an SMS Zap hard, because a wrong text reaches a real phone. If one stops you, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the fixes.
Older texts are never picked up
A Zap only reacts to messages received after you switch it on. Texts already in Notifyre stay out of your sheet; moving that history is a separate job.The reply loop
A Zap that writes into the very place its trigger watches sets itself off again and again. With SMS, that can mean answering your own answers and burning tasks.A burst of replies held back
After a big campaign, the trigger can return a huge batch of replies at once. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back instead of running every one.No double handling
Zapier keeps track of the texts it has already seen on this polling trigger, so the same message never starts the Zap twice.
