Wix Zapier integrationAutomate Wix with Zapier.

The Wix Zapier integration gives you 20 triggers and no action at all. Your site can start an automation the second an order, a booking or a form lands, but nothing on Zapier writes back into Wix. Here is what that means in practice.

Overview

What Wix can do on Zapier, and what it can't

The Wix Zapier integration turns things that happen on your Wix site into the starting point of an automation. A store order, a class booking, a donation, a new review: each one can set off a chain of steps in your other tools. It only works in one direction. Wix talks, Zapier listens, and the work happens elsewhere.

Three results people actually build with it. A sales log that fills itself: the eCommerce trigger reports every placed order and every abandoned checkout, so your bookkeeping or follow-up tool hears about it without anyone copying lines by hand. A front desk that never misses a booking: Bookings reacts when a client books, checks in, or a session starts or ends, which suits a studio or a consultant who juggles a calendar. A lead inbox in one place: Forms and CMS Forms pass each submission on, so a quote request reaches the person who answers it.

Now the part the app page doesn't spell out. Wix exposes no action and no search step on Zapier. You cannot create a product, update a contact or look up an order in Wix from a Zap. If your plan is to push data into your site, this integration won't do it, and it's worth checking the Wix Make integration before you commit. The upside: all 20 triggers are instant, so even the free plan reacts straight away. For a side-by-side of the two platforms, the Make vs Zapier comparison covers the criteria.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Eight terms come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain words.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger first, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger goes off.
Trigger
The event that wakes the Zap up. On this page it is always something that happens on your Wix site, like an order or a booking.
Action
The step that does the work once the Zap has started: it writes, sends or moves something. With Wix, it always runs in another app.
Task
What Zapier counts and bills: one action that completed successfully. Your plan's allowance is a number of these tasks.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. Nothing waits for a scheduled check. All 20 Wix triggers are instant.
Polling trigger
The other kind: Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer and keeps what it hasn't seen yet. Wix has none of these.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived matches a condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap with more than one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and that needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Wix Zap really costs

Short version: Wix itself costs you nothing on Zapier. The bill comes from what happens after.

  • TriggerNo task, ever
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, Wix works on the free plan

The trigger never uses a task, and Zapier listening for new orders or bookings is free too. You pay one task per action that succeeds, and each action counts on its own: three actions after a Wix order means three tasks per order. A failed action isn't counted. Wix is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, which gives you 100 tasks a month but only two-step Zaps. Add a filter and you need a paid plan. The polling grid below doesn't affect Wix at all, since every trigger here is instant.

Connect

Connect your Wix site to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Wix account linked once, then reused by every Zap that needs it, so you only do this the first time.

  2. 02

    Pick Wix and confirm

Type Wix in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Wix side, where you sign in with the account that manages the site you want to automate.

  3. 03

    Grant the access

Allow Zapier to access the account. You need a Wix account of your own, plus access to any site you don't own but want a Zap to watch. Without that access, the site's events won't reach Zapier.

First Zap

Your first Wix Zapier integration: store orders to your books

GoalSend each Wix store order to your accounting tool, but only when it matches the condition you care about.

  1. 01

    Build: choose the trigger

Start a new Zap, pick Wix as the app, then eCommerce as the event. Select the connection you created. You'll see a lightning bolt: that's the sign of an instant trigger.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from your site, so you can work with a real order. If your store has none yet, place a test order first.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

Click the plus icon and choose Filter. In Configure & test, set the field to read, the rule and the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers.

  4. 04

Add the action in your other tool

Add the step in the app that should receive the order, then map the fields from the Wix test order into it. This is the step that costs a task each time it succeeds.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step and read what came back before moving on. When it all looks right, click Publish. From then on, every new order runs through the Zap within moments.

Triggers

The 20 Wix triggers, one by one

20 events start a Zap when something happens in Wix, and 20 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

eCommerce

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Order placed, Checkout abandoned.”

Your Wix store reports each placed order to Zapier, and also each checkout a shopper left halfway. Zapier's description lists both events under this single name, so test it to see which one came back.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a merch shop that wants each abandoned checkout handed to whoever does the sales follow-up.
Watch out
orders placed before you publish the Zap never come through.
2

Bookings

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a session starts, ends or a client books or checks in.”

Appointments on your site become events Zapier can act on: a client books, a client checks in, or a session starts or ends. It covers the whole life of a booked slot.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a yoga studio that logs every check-in in the spreadsheet the owner reviews at the end of the month.
Watch out
one name covers several moments, so use a filter if only one of them matters, which needs a paid plan.
3

Events

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an event ends, a ticket is ordered or a guest joins the waitlist.”

Built for sites that sell tickets: it goes off when a ticket is ordered, when a guest joins the waitlist, or when an event is over.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a workshop organizer who wants each waitlist signup passed to the tool that sends updates to attendees.
Watch out
it has a required setting, Event starts, the amount of time before an event starts; decide it before you build.
4

Chat and Inbox

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a visitor is live on your site.”

This one reacts to presence rather than to a message: it goes off when a visitor is live on your site. Think of it as a doorbell for your pages.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a small agency whose sales lead wants a ping in a team tool whenever someone is browsing, to jump into the chat.
Watch out
on a busy site every visit becomes a Zap run, and each action after it is a task.
5

Tasks and Workflows

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Task assigned, task overdue, task deleted, workflow card added, workflow card moved”

Wix has its own to-do lists and workflow boards, and this trigger reports what moves on them: a task assigned, overdue or deleted, a workflow card added or moved.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a freelancer who tracks client projects on a Wix board and wants overdue tasks to land in a personal task app.
Watch out
only changes after publishing count; existing tasks won't replay.
6

Members and Contacts

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when contacts are created, group status changes, or on post activity.”

Anything about the people on your site starts here: a contact created, a change in group status, or activity on posts.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a community site that copies every new contact into the email tool its newsletter goes out from.
Watch out
a bulk contact import can return a huge batch at once, and Zapier's flood protection may hold it back.
7

Blog

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new blog post is published or a user comments on a post.”

Publishing and conversation on your blog both count: a new post going live, or a reader leaving a comment.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a podcast host who announces each new show-notes post in the tool used to schedule social posts.
Watch out
posts and comments share this one trigger, so check the test sample before you map fields, or the action will receive the wrong kind of item.
8

Forms

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a form is submitted.”

The simplest of the twenty: a visitor sends a form on your site, and Zapier gets the answers straight away.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a contractor whose quote request form should open a deal in the CRM before anyone checks the inbox.
Watch out
Wix also has a separate CMS Forms trigger, so check which kind of form you built before you pick one.
9

Pricing Plans

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Trigger when a plan is purchased, canceled or soon to expire.”

Memberships sold on Wix generate three moments Zapier can catch: a plan purchased, a plan canceled, and a plan about to expire.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
an online fitness coach who wants a heads-up in the support tool when a member's plan is close to running out.
Watch out
the purchase and the cancellation arrive through the same door, so map carefully.
10

File Share

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when folder access is requested or access is approved.”

Gated folders on your site generate requests, and Zapier hears about them: someone asks for access to a folder, or that access gets approved.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a photographer sharing client galleries who wants each access request flagged in the team chat so it gets approved fast instead of waiting in an inbox.
11

CMS Forms

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when CMS form submitted.”

Separate from the regular Forms trigger, this one goes off when a form tied to your site's CMS is submitted, and passes the submission straight to Zapier.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a job board built on CMS collections that forwards each application to the hiring manager's tracker.
Watch out
Forms and CMS Forms are two different triggers; if a test comes back empty, check you picked the one that matches your form.
12

Online Programs

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when members join, pay, leave or participants complete steps.”

Courses and challenges sold through Wix report their milestones: a member joins, pays or leaves, or a participant completes a step.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a course creator who sends a progress note to the mentor each time a participant finishes a step.
Watch out
joining and paying are separate moments, so decide which one should start your Zap before you build.
13

Wix Donations

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Donation created, donation updated, donation deleted and more.”

Fundraising on your site feeds this trigger: a donation created, updated or deleted, among other events Zapier lists for it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a local nonprofit that records every gift in the donor spreadsheet its treasurer works from.
Watch out
an update or a deletion also starts the Zap, so a simple copy can create duplicates downstream.
14

Loyalty and Referrals

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when loyalty points is reached or when there is a successful referral.”

Rewards programs on Wix report two kinds of wins: a customer reaching a loyalty points level, and a referral that worked.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a coffee roaster who wants every successful referral sent to the tool that issues thank-you codes.
Watch out
past referrals stay in Wix; the Zap only sees new ones.
15

Payments

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Payment received, payment method updated, payment grace period starts, payment grace period starts ends.”

Money events on your site land here: a payment received, a payment method updated, or the start and end of a payment grace period.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a membership site whose bookkeeper wants each grace period flagged in the accounting tool.
Watch out
store orders and abandoned checkouts belong to the eCommerce trigger, not to this one.
16

Wix Restaurants

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Order created, Order accepted, Dilvery order ready and more.”

Online ordering for a restaurant runs through this trigger: an order created, an order accepted, a delivery order ready, and more.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a taco place that pings its delivery partner the moment an order is ready to go.
Watch out
a single order can go through several of these stages, and each one runs the Zap again.
17

Wix Reviews

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Review is created, review updated, review deleted and more.”

Customer feedback on your products becomes a signal: a review created, updated or deleted, among other events.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a skincare brand that routes every new review to the customer care lead, who answers the unhappy ones first.
Watch out
an edited review fires again, so a filter on the kind of event keeps the inbox clean, on a paid plan.
18

Wix Proposals

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Proposal template created, updated, deleted; proposal status changed.”

Quotes sent from Wix produce two families of events: proposal templates created, updated or deleted, and a change in a proposal's status.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a web designer who wants the project kicked off in a planning tool as soon as a client's proposal changes status.
Watch out
template edits also start the Zap, which is rarely what you want.
19

Wix Portfolio

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a project is created.”

Creative work published on your portfolio has one event here, and only one: a project is created.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
an architect who shares each new case study with the person drafting the newsletter, without forwarding links by hand.
Watch out
Zapier's description only mentions creation, so don't count on it to follow edits to a project.
20

Segments

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers include: Contact enters segment, contact leaves segment.”

Wix groups contacts into segments, and this trigger tells Zapier when a contact enters one or leaves it.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
an online shop that moves contacts entering a repeat buyer segment into the email tool's VIP list.
Watch out
entering and leaving share this trigger, so the action must know which one it got.
When it breaks

When a Wix Zap breaks

Wix triggers are instant, so the usual delay complaint doesn't apply. The trouble comes from elsewhere.

Four situations explain most surprises with this app. None of them shows up as an error on your site, which is why they're worth knowing before you publish. For the failures that do show up, the Zapier troubleshooting page goes further.

  • Old orders never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Orders, bookings and contacts that already exist stay where they are. Moving that history is a separate job.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Import a big contact list or migrate a store, and a trigger can return a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back instead of running everything.
  • The filter step is refused

On the free plan a Zap stops at two steps. Adding a filter makes it multi-step, so the editor asks for a paid plan before you can publish.
  • Events asks for a required setting

The Events trigger has a required setting, Event starts, the amount of time before an event starts. Fill it in before you test the step.

FAQ

Wix Zapier integration: your questions

01Is the Wix Zapier integration free?
Yes, Wix works on Zapier's free plan because it is not a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and lets you build as many Zaps as you like, but each one is limited to two steps: one Wix trigger and one action in another tool. The moment you want a filter or a second action, you need a paid plan. The trigger itself never costs anything, so the free tier stretches further than it seems if every Zap has a single action.
02How many tasks does a Wix Zap use?
One per successful action, and nothing for the trigger. If a Wix order starts a Zap with one action, that order costs one task. With three actions after it, the same order costs three. Zapier waiting for new events on your site is free, and an action that fails is not counted against your plan. Since Wix only offers triggers, every task you spend is spent in the other apps of your Zap, which makes the cost easy to predict from the number of steps.
03Do Wix triggers run in real time?
Yes. All 20 Wix triggers are instant: Wix tells Zapier as soon as the event happens, and the Zap starts straight away. That holds on every plan, including the free one, because the polling interval grid only applies to triggers that Zapier has to check on a timer. In the editor you'll see a lightning bolt on the trigger, which is how Zapier marks an instant one. It's one of the few apps where the free plan feels as fast as the paid ones.
04What does it take to connect Wix to Zapier?
A Wix account, and access to the site you want to automate if someone else owns it. On Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, pick Wix and confirm with Add connection. Sign in on the Wix tab that opens and grant access. The connection is then reused by every Zap that uses Wix. If a step needs a site you can't see, the access on the Wix side is the first thing to check.
05Can Zapier create or update things in Wix?
No. On Zapier, Wix offers 20 triggers and no action or search step, so a Zap can't create a product, change a contact or look up an order on your site. Wix can only be the starting point. If the goal is to write into Wix, this integration won't cover it, and another platform's Wix connector is worth checking before you build anything. For everything that flows out of your site, the triggers cover stores, bookings, forms, members, payments and more.
06What if the trigger you need doesn't exist for Wix?
Check first whether it hides inside a broader one. Several Wix triggers group a handful of events under a single name: eCommerce covers placed orders and abandoned checkouts, Bookings covers bookings, check-ins and session start or end. Run a test to see what comes back. If the event really isn't there, Zapier offers no workaround from the Wix side, and an agency or a different automation platform is the realistic next step.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Wix?
It depends on the direction of your data. If Wix only needs to start automations in other tools, Zapier's 20 instant triggers cover a lot of ground and react straight away, even on the free plan. If you need to write into your site, Zapier offers no action and no search for Wix, so check what Make or n8n expose for it. The other criterion is the shape of your Zap: on Zapier's free plan it stops at one trigger and one action.
