Overview

What the ZoomInfo Zapier integration is for

It turns ZoomInfo's company and contact data into steps of an automation. One trigger, New Intent, starts a Zap when ZoomInfo spots accounts on your topics showing signs of a purchase. Fifteen actions then look up companies, contacts, technologies, hierarchies and news, and hand the result to the next step.

Three results teams build with it:

A warm-account file that fills itself. New Intent fires, Enrich Company fetches the profile, and the next step gets a company that is both interested and documented.

Names to call, not just logos. Search for Contacts or Enrich Org Charts returns people at a company by department and seniority, so sales reaches the right desk.

A reason to call today. Search Scoops, Search News and Get Signals bring back what changed: funding, leadership moves, hiring.

What Zapier does not do with ZoomInfo. There is a single trigger, and it only watches intent: no trigger for a new contact or a new company in your ZoomInfo lists. There is no search step either, so a lookup is always an action, billed as a task when it works. Several actions also spend ZoomInfo credits, and two of them need ZoomInfo Copilot access. If you weigh other tools, the ZoomInfo Make integration covers the same app. For the platform choice itself, see n8n vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, explained once

Eight terms carry the whole page. Each one in a line.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap. With ZoomInfo there is one: New Intent. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once started. For ZoomInfo, almost always a lookup: enrich a company, find contacts, pull news.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Your plan's allowance counts those and nothing else.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, keeping only what it has not seen yet. New Intent works this way.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself the moment the event happens, with no timer. ZoomInfo has none on Zapier.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your ZoomInfo account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every ZoomInfo step of every Zap you build.
Cost

What it costs: tasks on one side, credits on the other

ZoomInfo is not a premium app on Zapier: it runs on the free plan. But the Zapier bill is only half the story.

  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • TriggerFree, checked on a timer
  • ZoomInfo creditsSpent by 3 enrichment actions

On Zapier, the New Intent trigger costs nothing, however often it is checked. Each ZoomInfo action that succeeds is one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, Zaps of two steps (one trigger, one action) and a check every 15 minutes. A filter, or a second action, turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. On ZoomInfo's side, Enrich Corporate Hierarchy, Reveal IP and Enrich Org Charts consume credits on your ZoomInfo account, according to their own descriptions.

Connect

Connect ZoomInfo to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Start from the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. Search ZoomInfo by name in the dialog and pick it from the results to move on to the sign-in.

  2. 02

    Sign in to ZoomInfo

Click Add connection. A tab opens on ZoomInfo's side: sign in with the account whose data and credits the Zaps should use, since every ZoomInfo step will run on it.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is then reused by every ZoomInfo step. You need a ZoomInfo account, plus access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: from intent to people to call

GoalWhen ZoomInfo reports intent on your topics, enrich the company, then find the contacts there worth reaching.

  1. 01

    Build: pick New Intent

Create a Zap, pick ZoomInfo and New Intent. Choose the topics to watch: the field is required, and the Zap only reacts to those.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent intent results, so you map the next steps on a real account rather than a blank one.

  3. 03

    Add Enrich Company

Add Enrich Company and map what the trigger returned into its fields. The full company profile becomes available to the steps that follow.

  4. 04

    Add Search for Contacts

Add Search for Contacts and map the company from the previous step. Two actions make it a multi-step Zap: a paid plan is required.

  5. 05

    Test, then Publish

Test each step and read what came back. Read the enrichment results closely: they feed every step that follows. Then click Publish.

Triggers

The ZoomInfo trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in ZoomInfo. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

Actions

The 15 ZoomInfo actions

ZoomInfo gives you 15 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Account Summary

Action

In Zapier“Retrieve the account summary for a specific company.”

Pulls the account summary of one specific company, a condensed view rather than the full profile.

When to use it
an account executive wants a short brief on a warm account pushed into the deal notes.
Watch out
it needs the ZoomInfo Company Id, so put Enrich Company before it when the trigger does not carry one.
2

Enrich Corporate Hierarchy

Action

In Zapier“Returns the full corporate hierarchy for a company, including parent, subsidiaries, and acquisitions. Consumes a credit per record enriched.”

Returns a company's whole corporate structure: parent, subsidiaries and acquisitions.

When to use it
a key-account team discovers that a small subsidiary belongs to a group it already serves.
Watch out
you must say which output fields you want, and every record enriched consumes a ZoomInfo credit.
3

Enrich Company

Action

In Zapier“Lookup any company in ZoomInfo and return all available data.”

Looks a company up in ZoomInfo and returns everything available on it. Enrich Company Technology itself points to it as the way to find a company's ZoomInfo ID when you do not have it.

When to use it
a new demo request names a company, and the team wants its size and sector before the call.
4

Reveal IP

Action

In Zapier“Resolves an IPv4 address to a matching ZoomInfo company record using the Company Enrich endpoint. IPv6 addresses are not currently supported. Each successful match consumes 1 enrichment credit unless the record is already under management.”

Matches an IP address to the company record behind it, so an anonymous visit gets a company name.

When to use it
marketing wants to know which businesses read the pricing page, from the IP its form or analytics tool captured.
Watch out
only IPv4 addresses work, IPv6 ones are rejected, and each successful match costs an enrichment credit unless the record is already under management.
5

Enrich Org Charts

Action

In Zapier“Returns ZoomInfo contacts at a company by department and seniority, filtered by minimum contact accuracy. Consumes a credit per successful request.”

Lists the ZoomInfo contacts at a company, sorted by department and seniority, keeping only those above a minimum accuracy level.

When to use it
a rep needs the finance and IT heads of an account before planning a multi-threaded approach.
Watch out
the Company ID is required, and each successful request spends a ZoomInfo credit.
7

Enrich Contact

Action

In Zapier“Search for contact information based on as much information as you can provide.”

Finds a person's contact information from whatever you can give it. The more details you map in, the better the match.

When to use it
a webinar sign-up only left a name and a company, and sales wants the rest before following up.
Watch out
with one vague detail, the match can come back thin, so map every field the source carries.
8

Enrich Company Technology

Action

In Zapier“Look up what technology a company uses. This data is only available on Advanced+ and Elite+ plans.”

Tells you which technologies a company uses, according to ZoomInfo's data.

When to use it
a software vendor only wants to approach accounts running a tool it integrates with.
Watch out
this data only exists on ZoomInfo's Advanced+ and Elite+ plans, and the step needs the company's ZoomInfo ID, which Enrich Company can find first.
9

Find Lookalike Companies

Action

In Zapier“Finds companies similar to a given reference company.”

Returns companies similar to a reference company you give it.

When to use it
a deal just closed, and the team wants accounts that resemble that customer queued for outreach.
Watch out
it runs as an action, not a search step, so each successful run counts as one task, and a Zap fired on every closed deal adds them up.
10

Find Lookalike Contacts

Action

In Zapier“Finds contacts similar to a given reference person. Requires ZoomInfo Copilot access — contact your ZoomInfo admin if you receive an access denied error.”

Returns people who resemble a reference person, using that person's ZoomInfo ID.

When to use it
your best champion at one customer becomes the template for finding counterparts elsewhere.
Watch out
it requires ZoomInfo Copilot access; an access denied error means your ZoomInfo admin has to open it.
11

Search Companies

Action

In Zapier“This will find companies”

Finds companies in ZoomInfo from the criteria you set, which makes it the prospecting entry point when you have a profile rather than a name.

When to use it
a growth team builds a target list for a new territory and wants it to land in its CRM.
Watch out
it runs as an action, not a search step, so every successful run is a task.
12

Search for Contacts

Action

In Zapier“Search for contacts at a given company, in a given industry, or by many other search parameters.”

Searches people at a given company, in a given industry, or by many other criteria.

When to use it
right after Enrich Company, to turn an interested account into the names sales will actually write to.
Watch out
too broad a search hands back people nobody will contact, so give it every criterion you already know before mapping the results.
13

Search News

Action

In Zapier“Use News Search to retrieve news-related data using valid query parameters.”

Queries ZoomInfo's news data with the parameters you set, by category, a wider net than scoops on one company.

When to use it
a market team tracks one category of announcements across its whole territory.
Watch out
categories, results per page and page number are all required, so the step needs explicit paging.
14

Search Scoops

Action

In Zapier“Retrieve the latest news about any given company.”

Brings back the latest news ZoomInfo holds about a given company, called scoops.

When to use it
before a renewal call, the account manager gets fresh talking points about the customer.
Watch out
the company name is required, so map it from a step that always fills it.
15

API Request (Beta)

Action

In Zapier“This is an advanced action which makes a raw HTTP request that includes this integration's authentication.”

An advanced action that sends a raw request to ZoomInfo with your connection's authentication already attached, for what the other fourteen do not cover.

When to use it
a developer on the team needs a ZoomInfo call that has no ready-made action.
Watch out
it only reaches ZoomInfo's own domains, and you must decide whether an error stops the step.
When it breaks

When the ZoomInfo Zap breaks

Zapier ties no help article to ZoomInfo. What breaks comes from the action descriptions and from the general limits of every Zap.

The account behind the connection decides a lot here: plan, Copilot access, credits. If a run still fails, the Zapier troubleshooting guide helps read the history.

  • Access denied on Copilot actions

Get Signals and Find Lookalike Contacts require ZoomInfo Copilot access. Without it the step fails, and only your ZoomInfo admin can change that.
  • Technology data missing

Enrich Company Technology only returns data on ZoomInfo's Advanced+ and Elite+ plans. On another plan, the step has nothing to give back.
  • An IPv6 address sent to Reveal IP

Reveal IP only accepts IPv4 addresses and rejects IPv6 ones. If your source captures both, keep the IPv6 visits out with a filter.
  • No company ID to work with

Account Summary, Enrich Org Charts and Enrich Company Technology need the ZoomInfo company ID. Put Enrich Company first when the trigger does not provide it.
  • Past intent is never replayed

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Intent detected before publishing does not come back; catching up is a separate job.
  • A huge batch held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a very large batch, Zapier's flood protection can hold it. Already-seen results never start the Zap twice.

FAQ

ZoomInfo Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the ZoomInfo Zapier integration free?
On Zapier's side, yes: ZoomInfo is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, with 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action. New Intent followed by Enrich Company fits. Anything longer, a filter or a second action, needs a paid plan. On ZoomInfo's side, you still need a ZoomInfo account, and some actions use your ZoomInfo credits or require a specific ZoomInfo plan or Copilot access. Zapier being free does not make the data free.
02How many tasks does a ZoomInfo Zap use?
One task per ZoomInfo action that succeeds, and nothing for the New Intent trigger, however often Zapier checks it. A failed action is not counted either. A Zap that enriches the company, then searches contacts, uses two tasks each time it runs. Then add the second meter: Enrich Corporate Hierarchy, Reveal IP and Enrich Org Charts also consume ZoomInfo credits on success. A busy intent topic can therefore spend tasks and credits at the same pace, so start with narrow topics.
03Does the ZoomInfo trigger work in real time?
No. New Intent is a polling trigger: Zapier asks ZoomInfo for new results on a timer and keeps only what it has not seen before. The interval depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans, the check can also be run by hand from the editor. Do not promise a sales team instant alerts on a free plan.
04What does it take to connect ZoomInfo to Zapier?
A ZoomInfo account, signed in through Zapier's Apps page: add a connection, pick ZoomInfo, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. That account's plan and rights then apply to every step. Enrich Company Technology needs ZoomInfo's Advanced+ or Elite+ plan, while Get Signals and Find Lookalike Contacts need ZoomInfo Copilot access. Check those on the connected account before you build a Zap on these actions, not after its first failed run.
05Why does Reveal IP fail on some visitors?
One documented reason: the address is IPv6. Reveal IP only resolves IPv4 addresses and rejects IPv6 ones outright. If the tool feeding the Zap records both kinds, a share of runs will fail for that reason alone. The fix is a filter before the step that only lets IPv4 addresses through. Also keep in mind that each successful match spends an enrichment credit, unless the company record is already under management on your ZoomInfo account.
06What if the ZoomInfo action you need is not listed?
First check the fifteen actions: enrichment, prospecting, lookalikes, news and signals cover a lot. If none fits, API Request (Beta) sends a raw request to ZoomInfo with your connection already authenticated, as long as it targets ZoomInfo's own domains. It is an advanced step that assumes someone knows ZoomInfo's API. If the need is a trigger other than intent, Zapier offers none, so look at what the other platforms expose for ZoomInfo.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for ZoomInfo?
Compare them by criterion rather than by verdict. On Zapier, ZoomInfo offers one polling trigger and fifteen actions, no premium surcharge, and a billing model where each successful action is a task. If your flow chains many lookups per account, count the tasks per run before choosing. If you need ZoomInfo events other than intent to start a workflow, check what Make and n8n expose for ZoomInfo. On Zapier, the ZoomInfo plan and Copilot rules described above decide what several of these actions can return.
