What is the best local SEO software in 2026?

The right pick depends on what you pay per location, not the sticker price.

You run 12 clinics, 40 franchise stores, or a book of agency clients. Every holiday hours change means logging into profile after profile. Reviews pile up unanswered. And you have no idea whether your Denver location shows up in the map pack two blocks away. Local SEO software fixes that: one screen for every Google Business Profile, your reviews, your directory listings and your map rankings.

The short answer. BrightLocal is the best local SEO software for most multi-location brands and agencies: tiered pricing by location count, scheduled Google posts from the Manage plan, reviews from Grow. Semrush Local leads on AI-assisted profile management at $30 per location per month. Synup puts every feature on every plan, with a per-location price that drops as you grow and white label for agencies. SE Ranking fits if you also want a full SEO suite. Whitespark manages profiles for $1 per location, and Local Falcon is still the go-to for map-pack geogrids.

What most "best of" lists skip: your bill scales with your location count. A $30 tool becomes a $1,500 monthly bill at 50 locations. Always run the math on your real footprint.

Scores use five weighted criteria, explained in the method section. Prices checked in 2026 on official vendor pages, in USD, before tax where the vendor says so. The SE Ranking 10-location figure assumes 7 extra locations at the listed entry rate. Local Falcon, which handles no profiles, reviews or directories, is scored on map tracking and cost only.

How we scored

How we compared and scored

This page is for whoever owns more than a handful of Google Business Profiles (the listing that shows your hours, photos and reviews on Google Maps): the marketing lead at a franchise or retail chain, the ops manager at a multi-site healthcare group, or the agency running profiles for clients. If you have one storefront and want a full SEO toolkit, our SEO tools for local businesses ranking is a better fit.

We went through each vendor's pricing page tier by tier to find the plan where the tool starts publishing posts, answering reviews and tracking map rankings. Then we read user reviews and threads on local search forums, complaints first. Three gripes come up again and again: per-location pricing that balloons, geogrid credits that expire, and directory listings that revert after you cancel.

The weighting tracks what actually moves a multi-location brand on Google. Listing and post management is 30%: it's why you buy the tool. Reviews are 20%, since they drive clicks as much as rankings. Map rank tracking is 20%. Real cost per location is 20%, measured at 10 locations. Directory coverage is 10%, because Google is still the source that matters most.

What's not ranked, and why. Yext, Moz Local, Uberall, Partoo and Mobilosoft don't publish prices on an official page we could read, so they get a card below with no score. General-purpose SEO suites live in our best SEO tool ranking.

Best overall

BrightLocal

4.5/5

BrightLocal is the name local SEO pros bring up first, and the pricing explains a lot of it. You pay by location tier, not per profile. Between 6 and 10 locations, Manage runs $109 a month, roughly $11 per location. For a mid-size footprint, nothing else here gives you as much for the money.

The three plans stack. Track covers rank tracking (100 keywords, 4 competitors, geogrids on 5 keywords), a Google Business Profile audit and citation tracking (checking your name, address and phone across directories). Manage adds data sync and scheduled Google posts. Grow adds multi-location review management and review requests by email or SMS.

For a multi-location brand, Manage is the real starting point. Track alone never touches your profiles. Citation Builder is pay-as-you-go, $2 to $3.20 per citation.

The catch: BrightLocal is local-only. No technical site audit, no deep keyword research. Users also mention slow load times, uneven support and some display errors in citation reports. At 50 locations, Grow is $494 a month, and $989 between 91 and 100.

Pro tip: start monthly on the 14-day trial (no card needed), then switch to annual once your tier is settled.

Standout features
  • Tiered pricing, not per profile
  • Scheduled Google posts from Manage
  • 14-day trial, no card
+Pros
  • ✓About $11 per location at 10 locations, posts included
  • ✓Profiles, reviews, geogrids and citations in one place
  • ✓Predictable annual bill
−Cons
  • ✗Multi-location reviews only on Grow
  • ✗No technical SEO or deep keyword research
  • ✗Users report slowdowns and uneven support
Verdict

The default pick for any multi-location brand that wants one dashboard. Go Manage if you mostly push info and posts, Grow if reviews are the priority.

Best AI profile management

Semrush Local

4.2/5

Semrush Local is a separate add-on to the Semrush suite, which itself starts at $199 a month. Our full Semrush review scores it 4.2 out of 5, and that score carries over here. Local is priced per location, billed annually: $30 a month on Base, $60 on Pro.

Base already covers what your profiles need: an AI agent that manages your Google Business Profile, AI-written posts, automatic review replies and Map Rank Tracker with 375 credits. Pro adds directory listing management, review management and collection, and 1,225 tracking credits.

It's a strong pick for brands with locations abroad, too: in France, the listing sync even reaches Pages Jaunes, 118000 and Petit Futé on top of Google, Apple, Bing and Facebook.

The catch: pricing never drops with volume. Ten locations on Base cost $300 a month; fifty cost $1,500. Past 10 locations, BrightLocal and Synup come in cheaper. And if you're moving off Yext, cancel Yext first so the two tools don't overwrite each other on the same directories.

Pro tip: keep a human in the loop on negative-review replies. A canned AI response to an angry customer sits in public, right under your profile.

Standout features
  • AI agent for Google profiles from Base
  • Same login as the Semrush SEO suite
  • Directory sync on Pro
+Pros
  • ✓Entry plan already handles profiles, posts and reviews
  • ✓Natural fit if your team lives in Semrush
  • ✓Generous map tracking credits on Pro
−Cons
  • ✗Linear pricing: $1,500/mo at 50 locations on Base
  • ✗Directories and review collection only on Pro
  • ✗Annual billing, extra users at $20
Verdict

The best pick up to roughly 10 locations, especially if your team already works in Semrush. Beyond that, price out BrightLocal before signing an annual contract.

3
Best for white-label agencies

Synup

4.1/5

Synup has the cleanest pricing in this lineup: every feature on every plan, and only the location count changes. The price per location drops as you grow. Solo is $49 for one location, Premium $299 for 10 ($29.90 each), Pro $499 for 25 ($19.96), Scale $899 for 50 ($17.98).

That curve is where Synup wins. At 50 locations, it's $899 a month versus $1,500 for Semrush Local Base. And you never wonder whether reviews sit one plan up.

For agencies, white label (your logo on the dashboard and the reports) is included from Premium. That's rare at this price point, and it lets you present the platform as your own.

The catch: tiers are fixed. With 11 locations you pay for 25. Map rank tracking is less granular than BrightLocal or Local Falcon. And for a single location, Solo at $49 costs more than Semrush Local Base.

Pro tip: count the openings you have planned for the year before you pick a tier. Annual billing saves 20% but locks you in for twelve months.

Standout features
  • Every feature on every plan
  • Per-location price drops up to 50 locations
  • White label from Premium
+Pros
  • ✓Per-location price drops from $29.90 to $17.98
  • ✓No features hidden in a higher tier
  • ✓Built for agencies that resell
−Cons
  • ✗Fixed tiers: 11 locations pay for 25
  • ✗Map tracking less granular than specialists
  • ✗Pricey for a single location
Verdict

The best pick for agencies that want to resell listing management under their own name, or for brands that want every feature without checking which plan holds it. Size the tier for where you'll be in a year.

Best local plus full SEO

SE Ranking

4.0/5

SE Ranking is a full SEO suite first: keyword tracking, site audits, backlinks. Its Local Marketing module adds listing management, and that's the appeal. One tool, one invoice, for both the website and the profiles.

Core, at $103.20 a month billed annually, includes 3 locations, local and map rank tracking on 1,500 keywords, directory sync across 100+ countries and Google posts. Each extra location starts at $18.40 a month.

At 10 locations, that's $103.20 plus 7 times $18.40, at least $232 a month billed annually. More than BrightLocal Manage, but you also get the whole SEO suite for your site.

The catch: review management is thinner than BrightLocal or Semrush Local. The local module isn't sold on its own, so you pay for the suite even if you ignore it. Past 20 locations, the bill climbs fast.

Pro tip: if you already automate reporting, the SE Ranking integration with Make pushes your rankings into a spreadsheet or BI tool without copy-paste.

Standout features
  • 3 locations included in Core
  • 1,500 local and map keywords tracked
  • Full SEO suite in the same plan
+Pros
  • ✓One tool for site and profiles
  • ✓Generous local rank tracking
  • ✓Directories in 100+ countries
−Cons
  • ✗Thinner review management
  • ✗Local module can't be bought alone
  • ✗Cost climbs past 20 locations
Verdict

A smart pick for a business with 3 to 10 locations that also runs its own site SEO. For a large footprint, a local-only tool costs less.

Best on a tight budget

Whitespark

3.9/5

Whitespark sells its tools one by one, and that's its edge. Google profile management costs $1 per location per month: $10 for 10 locations, $50 for 50. Nobody in this ranking goes lower.

Everything else is à la carte. Local Rank Tracker runs $14 to $200 a month, with geogrids from $10 a month. Local Citation Finder digs up directories you're missing, from $33 to $149 a month. Reputation Builder, for reviews, is $79 per location per month.

Citations are where Whitespark built its name, and its support gets real praise from local SEO pros. A tip that keeps popping up on forums: build the core citations with BrightLocal, then the niche ones (industry directories, local press) with Whitespark.

The catch: the interface feels dated, and stitching modules together takes time. Reputation Builder at $79 per location gets expensive fast: $790 a month for 10 locations.

Pro tip: Whitespark also sells a one-time "Yext Replacement" service at $399 per location. Worth a look if you're leaving Yext and worried about losing directory listings.

Standout features
  • Profile management at $1 per location
  • Every tool sold separately
  • Citation specialist
+Pros
  • ✓Cheapest way to manage a whole footprint's profiles
  • ✓Support praised by local SEO pros
  • ✓Pay only for what you use
−Cons
  • ✗Dated interface
  • ✗Reviews at $79 per location
  • ✗You assemble the modules yourself
Verdict

The lowest price for keeping a footprint's profiles in shape, and the right tool for citations. Pair it with something else for reviews.

Best map-pack tracking

Local Falcon

3.8/5

Local Falcon doesn't manage profiles. It does one thing better than anyone else here: it shows where you rank on the map, point by point. You drop a grid around your store (5x5, so 25 points) and see your rank from each point for a given keyword. You'll spot right away that half a mile north, a competitor pushes you out of the map pack.

Pricing runs on credits: 1 credit equals 1 grid point. A 5x5 grid costs 25 credits. One weekly scan on one keyword burns about 108 credits a month. So the $24.99 Starter plan covers close to 70 location and keyword pairs scanned weekly.

Since it doesn't handle profiles, reviews or directories, Local Falcon is scored on map tracking and cost only, and its overall score is capped: you'll need a management tool alongside it.

The catch: monthly credits expire at month end. A recurring theme in user reviews is that cost, which climbs with every new location, and budgets blown because nobody planned the scan schedule. Pay-as-you-go credits at $0.05 don't expire, so keep them for spikes.

To automate it, the Local Falcon integration with Zapier triggers scans or sends reports without opening the app.

Pro tip: burn the 100 free credits (no card) on your weakest location first. One grid tells you whether the problem is local or across the board.

Standout features
  • Point-by-point geogrids
  • Pay-as-you-go credits never expire
  • 100 free credits, no card
+Pros
  • ✓Sharpest view of your map-pack position
  • ✓Low entry price
  • ✓Pairs well with any management tool
−Cons
  • ✗Doesn't manage profiles or reviews
  • ✗Monthly credits expire
  • ✗Cost rises with every location
Verdict

The ideal companion to a listing management tool, not a replacement. Budget your scans before you pick a plan.

7
Best flat fee for small agencies

Localo

3.8/5

Localo flips the model: a flat fee, not a per-profile price. Pro costs $169 a month, $149 billed annually, for up to 60 active profiles. An agency with 20 client profiles pays the same as one with 5.

For a single business, Single Business is $49 a month, or $39 annually. Enterprise, on quote, covers bigger networks.

The math is simple. At 10 profiles, Pro works out to under $17 each; at 50, under $3.40. It's the best flat-fee deal in this lineup between 20 and 60 profiles.

The catch: Localo is less established than BrightLocal or Semrush, and there are fewer user reviews to go on. Past 60 profiles you're into a custom quote.

Pro tip: the 14-day trial needs no card, and there's a 30-day refund. Run the trial on your messiest profiles, not your cleanest.

Standout features
  • Flat fee up to 60 profiles
  • 14-day trial, no card
  • 30-day refund
+Pros
  • ✓Fixed price up to 60 profiles
  • ✓Very cheap between 20 and 60 profiles
  • ✓Low risk thanks to the refund
−Cons
  • ✗Fewer user reviews than the leaders
  • ✗Custom quote past 60 profiles
  • ✗Pricey for 2 or 3 profiles
Verdict

The right flat fee for an agency running 20 to 60 profiles. Under 10 profiles, per-location pricing comes out cheaper.

Real cost

What local SEO software really costs at 1, 10 and 50 locations

A starting price means nothing until you multiply it by your footprint. Here's the monthly bill, at official USD prices, on the first plan that actually manages your profiles (info and posts).

1 location

Whitespark: $1 for profile management. Semrush Local Base: $30, billed annually. Localo Single Business: $39 annually. Synup Solo: $49. BrightLocal Manage: $54, or $485 a year on annual. At this size, Google's own free tools often do the job.

10 locations

Whitespark: $10. BrightLocal Manage, 6 to 10 tier: $109. Localo Pro: $169. SE Ranking Core: at least $232 with 7 extra locations. Synup Premium: $299. Semrush Local Base: $300. That's a 30x spread for different feature sets, so always compare reviews and map tracking side by side.

50 locations

Whitespark: $50. Localo Pro: $169. BrightLocal Manage, 41 to 50 tier: $384 ($494 on Grow, with reviews). Synup Scale: $899. Semrush Local Base: $1,500. At this size, also get quotes from Yext and Uberall, which target large networks.

  • Is pricing per location, tiered, or flat?
  • Which plan includes posts, reviews and directory sync?
  • Do map tracking credits expire at month end?
  • Is the price billed annually or monthly, before or after tax?
  • What happens to your directory listings if you cancel?
  • Who owns the Google profiles: you or the vendor?

Quote-only platforms worth a demo

Several serious players don't publish pricing. We don't score them, since we can't compare cost. Here's when they're still worth a call, and what their official pages say.

01

Yext: wide reach, but plan your exit

Listings sync

Yext pushes your business data to a long list of directories from a single record. No price is published. The thing to know before you sign: when you cancel, Yext stops sending your data and directories can revert to old info. One user on a local search forum saw a dozen directories delete the listing and four roll back to stale data. Listings created through Yext aren't always claimable afterward, so claim the ones that matter before you leave.

Europe

Partoo, a French company, targets store networks from SMBs to enterprise, with everything on quote after a demo. Starter covers presence management, review management and a review booster. Field tips

Run a profile network without getting suspended

No software shields your profiles from Google. Suspensions are rising and appeals are slow. Here's what multi-location teams that get it right have in common.

01

Start with Google's free tools

Google Business Profile lets you build location groups and bulk-manage profiles once you have 10 or more locations. The API is available on request through a Google Cloud project. For 10 locations that change hours twice a year, that may be enough. Software earns its keep when you want regular posts, tracked review replies and rank tracking.

02

Keep ownership of your profiles

Your profiles should belong to a company Google account, not to an agency or a vendor. Add the tool or the agency as a manager. If Google restricts an owner account, every profile it owns can go down with it, so never park your whole network in a contractor's account.

03

Don't bulk-edit sensitive fields

Name, address, phone, website and categories get close scrutiny from Google. Changing them across 40 profiles at once is the fastest way to trigger a verification. Roll those changes out in small batches, and never rush to accept a user-suggested edit.

04

Budget your scans before you pick a plan

A weekly 5x5 grid on one keyword uses about 108 credits a month. Multiply by locations and keywords before you buy. Monthly scans are enough for stable locations; save weekly scans for the ones you're actively working.

05

Review AI replies to negative reviews

Auto replies save real time on positive reviews. On a one-star review, a canned reply does more harm than silence. Simple rule: AI drafts, a human approves anything under three stars.

06

Plan your exit before you sign

Before canceling a listings sync tool, export your data and claim the important directory listings (Apple, Bing, Facebook) under your own name. Some listings created by a tool can't be claimed later. Better to know that going in.

FAQ

Your questions about local SEO software

  • Can I manage multiple Google Business Profiles from one account?

Yes, for free. Google lets you put profiles into location groups and bulk-manage them once you have 10 or more. The API, available on request, is what third-party tools plug into. Keep those groups in a company-owned Google account so you stay the owner.

  • Is per-location pricing or a flat fee better?

Per location up to about 10 locations, flat fee past 20. A small per-location price adds up: Localo Pro is $169 a month for up to 60 profiles, while Semrush Local Base would be $1,800 a month for 60. Run the numbers on where you'll be in a year.

  • Can I publish the same post to every location?

Yes, from one screen: BrightLocal (from Manage), Semrush Local and SE Ranking all schedule Google posts across your profiles. Still swap in the city or neighborhood: 30 identical posts give a local searcher nothing local to read.

  • Can local SEO software guarantee a top spot in the map pack?

No. No tool controls Google's ranking, which mostly comes down to distance, relevance and prominence. The software helps you keep info accurate, post consistently and reply to reviews. Walk away from anyone promising a position.

  • Is there free local SEO software?

Not a complete one. Google Business Profile is free and already handles location groups. Local Falcon gives 100 credits with no card, enough for four 5x5 grids. BrightLocal, Localo and Synup (on Solo) all offer 14-day trials. For a whole network, Whitespark at $1 per location is the closest thing to free.

  • Is BrightLocal or Whitespark better for citations?

Use both if citations matter. BrightLocal's pay-per-citation builder ($2 to $3.20 each) is quick for the core directories. Whitespark's Citation Finder is stronger on niche and industry sites, and its support gets more praise. Many local SEO pros split the work that way.

  • Can a management tool get a profile suspended?

Not on its own, but it can scale a mistake. Pushing a name or category change to every location at once can trigger a Google verification. Keep sensitive fields out of bulk edits, and check who has publishing rights inside the tool.

  • Which local SEO tool works best for a white-label agency?

Synup includes white label from Premium, $299 a month for 10 locations. Localo fits if you'd rather pay a flat fee for up to 60 profiles. Either way, keep profiles in your clients' names: when a client leaves, the profile leaves with them.
