Badger Maps alternatives: where to go and how to leave cleanly

Six field sales tools, one pick per reason for leaving, and a seven-step exit plan.

The short answer: Map My Customers if you have outgrown 2,000 records per license, SalesRabbit if you knock on homeowners' doors, Knockio if you want month-to-month with no contract, Pipedrive if you work alone and need a CRM with a map, Salesforce Maps if your company runs on Salesforce, and Maptive if you mostly need to map and split territories from a desk. Badger itself is not a bad tool. People leave over the price, the lack of offline mode and the limits of the Business plan. We compared six tools on this page and went through their pricing pages in 2026.

The real reasons

Why field reps leave Badger Maps

Reps like seeing their accounts on a map and building a day in a few taps. So why leave? Six reasons come back again and again, most of them written on Badger's own pages.

The bill climbs fast

Business costs $69 per user per month on monthly billing ($58 annual). Location- and time-stamped check-in reports only come with Enterprise, at $109 monthly ($95 annual). Then the add-ons: Align at $20 per territory, Lead Routing at $16 to $18, Insights at $50 to $60 per user, Scoreboard at $12 to $14. For a team of five on Enterprise monthly, that is $545 a month before any add-on.

No offline mode

Badger's help center is clear: it is a web-based app and needs an internet connection. A route you already opened keeps running, but you cannot write a note or edit an account without signal. For reps in rural areas, that means notes typed from memory at the end of the day.

2,000 records per license on Business

Business and Personal stop at 2,000 accounts per license. Going to 10,000 means Enterprise. A rep with a large territory hits that wall quickly.

Routes that need fixing

In user reviews, routing comes up often: back-and-forth trips, slowness, limited route export. Others are happy with it, so judge on your own territory during the trial.

No CRM sync for a solo rep

The two-way, real-time CRM sync starts at two licenses. Alone, you import addresses by spreadsheet and keep two tools up to date by hand.

Light on prospecting and reporting

Badger is built for routing. There is no email, text or call sequence. A manager who wants to coach reps from data often finds it thin.

The 6 alternatives

Badger Maps alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it is for, its limit, how to migrate from Badger, and what it costs. Prices are per user per month in US dollars, as shown on each vendor's page in 2026.

01

Map My Customers: when 2,000 records per license is too tight

Large B2B teams

Why switch to Map My Customers. Badger's Business plan stops at 2,000 records per license, and the 10,000 cap only comes with Enterprise at $95 to $109. Map My Customers starts at 50,000 records on its first plan, Industry Leader, with a two-way CRM sync and check-ins included. If your reps carry big territories with thousands of accounts each, that is the gap that matters.

Who it's for. B2B teams of five reps or more that call on a large account base, already run Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics or Zoho, and want managers to see visit activity without an extra add-on.

Who it's not for. A solo rep or a team of two. Industry Leader needs five users minimum, and everything is billed annually on a 12-month commitment.

Where it falls short. No trial is mentioned on the pricing page, so you buy after a demo. The entry price is $99 per user per month, which is $30 more than Badger Business on monthly billing. Unlimited records, advanced routing, mileage tracking and API access sit in Enterprise at $139, with a 10-user minimum.

How to migrate. If Badger is synced to your CRM, the CRM already holds your accounts: connect Map My Customers to the same CRM and let it pull them in. Otherwise, export your accounts from Badger (Reports, then Accounts) and import the CSV. Registered nonprofits get 25% off, so ask if that applies to you.

02

SalesRabbit: built for knocking doors, not for account routes

Door-to-door

Why switch to SalesRabbit. Badger is designed for reps who visit known business accounts. If your team knocks on homeowners' doors (solar, roofing, pest control, home security), you need lead maps by street, statuses per house and team leaderboards. That is SalesRabbit's home turf, and it has paid add-ons for exactly that work: weather data, mover leads, e-contracts.

Who it's for. Residential door-to-door teams with a manager who hires and coaches reps. Also a solo rep: SalesRabbit Lite is free for one user.

Who it's not for. B2B reps driving a planned route to existing customers. Badger, Map My Customers or a CRM with maps fit that job better.

Where it falls short. Setup is mandatory and its price is not on the page. Contracts run one to three years, and there is no trial of the paid plans. Team costs $59 per user on monthly billing; Pro is $75 monthly or $49 on an annual plan. Add-ons such as DataGrid AI ($19 annual), Weather ($19) or Mover Leads ($13) come on top.

How to migrate. Export your Badger accounts to CSV and add a status column before import, because SalesRabbit sorts leads by status. Get the setup fee and the exit terms in writing before you sign a multi-year deal.

03

Knockio: month to month, one plan, no contract

No contract

Why switch to Knockio. Badger's monthly price is $69 per user on Business, and the guarantee only covers teams of two or more. Knockio sells plans, billed monthly with no contract and no setup fees. Route optimization is already in the Prospect plan, which costs $25 per user for one to four users and $20 from five.

Who it's for. Small teams that want to stop committing for a year, and managers who want to start cheap with prospecting and move up to Growth later.

Who it's not for. A team that needs a native, real-time CRM sync. Knockio connects through Zapier, which means more setup and more things to watch.

Where it falls short. You pick one plan, you don't stack them. Growth includes everything in Prospect and adds pipelines, estimates, invoices and payments for $60 ($45 from five users), still under Badger Business at $69 monthly. Organize ($35, or $30 from five) is for field service, and its feature list does not mention route optimization. The extras are what push the bill up: Engage at $15 per number per month, and pre-knocked data at 15 cents per address. Scale, for 100 users or more, is quote only.

How to migrate. Export your accounts from Badger, clean the CSV, import it into Knockio, then rebuild your CRM link through Zapier. Run one week with two reps before you move everyone.

Pipedrive: a CRM with Google Maps already inside

Solo rep with a CRM

Why switch to Pipedrive. Here is a trap few people notice: Badger only syncs with a CRM from two licenses up. A solo rep on Badger keeps updating spreadsheets by hand. Pipedrive includes its Google Maps integration on every plan, with no API key to set up: your contacts on a map, a route and a nearby search for the accounts around you.

Who it's for. Independent reps and small teams that do a few visits a day and spend more time managing deals than driving. One tool instead of a CRM plus a mapping app.

Who it's not for. A rep running 30 stops a day. Pipedrive draws a route but does not optimize a packed day the way Badger does with up to 120 stops.

Where it falls short. No offline visit reports, no check-in with location stamps, no territory design. It is a CRM first.

How to migrate. Export your Badger accounts to CSV and import them into Pipedrive as organizations and people. Map Badger's custom fields to Pipedrive fields first. The 14-day trial needs no card, enough to run a real week. Our Pipedrive review covers the rest.

Maptive: for the manager who plans territories at a desk

Mapping and analysis

Why switch to Maptive. Some Badger users mostly use the map, not the route: who buys where, which zone is underserved, how to split a region. Maptive is a web mapping tool for that. A 10-day trial needs no card, and a 45 Day Pass at $250 covers a one-off project, like redrawing territories before a reorg.

Who it's for. Sales ops and managers who analyze and plan from a desktop, with data in Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive or Keap.

Who it's not for. Reps in the car. The pricing page does not mention a mobile app, so check that point before you buy.

Where it falls short. Routes stop at 70 stops, against 120 at Badger. Pro is $110 a month or $1,250 a year for one user, plus $750 per extra user (the page gives no billing period for it); Team is $220 a month or $2,500 a year for five users, plus $500 each.

How to migrate. Load the Badger account export into Maptive as a spreadsheet, or connect your CRM. Many teams keep a field app for reps and use Maptive only for planning.

Salesforce Maps: keep everything inside Salesforce

On Salesforce

Why switch to Salesforce Maps. Badger syncs with Salesforce, but a sync is one more thing to watch: one object on Business, several only on Enterprise. If your company runs on Salesforce, Salesforce Maps works directly on your records, with no second database to keep clean.

Who it's for. Companies already on Sales Cloud that want routes, territories and visit planning without leaving Salesforce.

Who it's not for. Anyone not on Salesforce. Maps is not included in Sales Cloud; it is an add-on on top.

Where it falls short. It starts at $75 per user per month, billed annually on a 12-month contract, on top of your Sales Cloud licenses. Ask for the price of the Advanced tier in writing: the vendor's pages do not agree with each other.

How to migrate. Your accounts are already in Salesforce if Badger was synced. Check that Badger notes and check-ins landed on the records, then turn off the sync. Our Salesforce agency can help with the setup.

Exit plan

Leaving Badger Maps in seven steps

Order matters. At Badger, a refund deletes the account, and the export link expires in an hour. Each step protects something: your money, your accounts, your visit history.

01

Find your renewal date and your notice window

Day 1

Badger renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual), on the same card and at the same price unless you are told otherwise. The subscription agreement asks for 30 days' written notice before the end of the cycle. Find your renewal date, count back 30 days, then add a week of buffer.

If you are still within 90 days of the end of your pilot, the money-back guarantee can refund you in full, once per account. Read the next step before you ask for it.

Renewal

02

Export your accounts first, and download within the hour

Day 1

Go to Reports, then Accounts, and run the export. Badger emails you the file, and the link only works for one hour. Download it right away and save it in two places.

Need one territory only? Filter the map (Visualize, then Filters) or draw a zone with the Lasso tool, then More, Export Accounts.

Do this before any refund request: under the contract, a refund cancels and deletes your team's Badger account.

03

Save check-in photos and the routes you reuse

Day 2

Badger's official export only covers your accounts. If you use check-in photos as proof of visit, or want to keep the routes you run every week, ask Badger support in writing how to get them before you give notice.

Do the same for anything else (the full list of export columns, check-in history), and keep their answer.

04

If Badger syncs with your CRM, check the CRM first

Day 2

With a sync, your CRM holds the master data. Before you cut the link, open ten accounts at random and check that the last notes and check-ins from Badger are there. Fix what is missing while both tools still talk to each other.

Business syncs one CRM object, Enterprise several: list which objects you synced so you know what to check.

05

Build a field mapping table, then import

Week 1

Make one row per Badger field, with its name in the new tool next to it. Import the CSV, then open accounts in each region and check where the pins land. Badger reviews mention addresses turned into raw coordinates: those rows need cleaning before import, or the pins will sit in the wrong place.

Check

06

Redraw Align territories by hand

Week 1

If you pay for Align ($20 per territory per month, five minimum), Badger describes no KML export of territories. Take screenshots of each territory, write down its boundaries, and redraw them in the new tool. Or ask support in writing for a file.

07

Pilot one week, then cancel the right way

Week 2

Run one week with two reps on the new tool. Then cancel: email support@badgermapping.com from the email on the account, or call +1 415-592-5909. In the app, you can also use Request account deletion.

Exit pitfalls

What makes a Badger Maps exit go wrong

None of these mistakes is technical. They are calendar and export oversights, and each one costs more than the five minutes it takes to avoid it.

Asking for the refund before exporting

The 90-day guarantee is real, but a refund request cancels and deletes the team's account. Export accounts, photos and routes first, then ask.

Letting the export link expire

The account export arrives by email and only works for one hour. Run it when you can download it right away, not on a Friday evening.

Missing the 30-day notice

Badger renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle. Notice sent 20 days before renewal comes too late. Put the deadline in your calendar now.

Forgetting the iPhone subscription

A plan bought through the App Store is billed by Apple. Emailing Badger does not stop it: cancel in your Apple subscriptions.

Trusting the CRM sync blindly

If the sync covered one object on Business, notes or check-ins may never have reached the CRM. Check a sample before you cut the link.

Importing coordinates instead of addresses

Some records hold raw coordinates instead of a street address. Clean them before the import, or check the pins region by region afterwards.

FAQ · 8 questions

Badger Maps alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • How much does Badger Maps cost?

Business is $58 per user per month on annual billing, or $69 monthly. Enterprise is $95 annual or $109 monthly, and Enterprise Plus is quote only. Annual saves about 15%. There are no setup or integration fees, but add-ons (Align, Lead Routing, Insights, Scoreboard) come on top, several with a five-license minimum.

  • Does Badger Maps work offline?

No. Badger's help center says the app needs an internet connection. You can keep following a route you already opened, but you cannot add notes or edit accounts without signal. Badger's own tip is to download the area in Google Maps. If your reps lose signal often, test the next tool's offline use during its trial before you move.

  • Is there a free version of Badger Maps?

No lasting free plan. The Personal plan, shown as "Start for free", is a 14-day free trial of the Business features. The pricing page says no credit card is needed for the first 7 days, except for trials started in the iOS app. Teams of two or more also get a 90-day money-back guarantee, which does not cover Align.

  • How do I cancel Badger Maps?

Email support@badgermapping.com from the address on the account, or call +1 415-592-5909, and give 30 days' written notice before your renewal date. If you subscribed through Apple, cancel in your Apple subscriptions. Export your data before you ask for a refund: a refund deletes the account.

  • How many stops can a Badger Maps route have?

Up to 120 stops per route, the figure Badger shows on its Personal plan. Maptive caps routes at 70 stops. Pipedrive draws a route on Google Maps but is not built to optimize a packed day.

  • Does Badger Maps sync with my CRM on a single license?

No. The two-way, real-time CRM sync starts at two licenses, and NetSuite at five. Business syncs one object, Enterprise several. A solo rep is better served by a CRM with maps built in, such as Pipedrive. Our CRM ranking for small businesses lists other options.

  • What is the best Badger Maps alternative for Salesforce users?

Salesforce Maps, from $75 per user per month on annual billing, because it works on your Salesforce records directly. It is an add-on on top of Sales Cloud. See our Salesforce alternatives guide if Salesforce itself is the problem.

  • Badger Maps vs Spotio: which one should I pick?

Badger if you want a listed price, a trial and a two-way CRM sync for B2B routes. Spotio if you need more prospecting and coaching and accept a quote: its pricing page shows no amounts. Our guide to leaving Spotio covers the other side.
