STEL Order alternatives: where to go and how to switch without losing your job history

STEL Order alternatives for field service teams: six reasons people leave, six tools to move to, and an eight-step exit plan built around auto-renewal.

The short answer: STEL Order is a solid, well-rated tool, and plenty of teams have no reason to leave it. Switching makes sense in three cases. Your business runs outside Spain, in the US or the UK for example: Jobber is built for field service teams in those markets, from $49 a month. You're in Spain and pay for the Business plan only to get the technical service module: Fixner does nothing but that, with Verifactu and TicketBAI. Your company has outgrown job management: Odoo or Holded. One rule before you go: STEL Order's yearly and two-year plans renew automatically for the same length and are never refunded pro rata. Turn off auto-renewal, export, then leave on your renewal date. We compared six destinations and their 2026 prices.

The real reasons

Why people leave STEL Order, and what it still does well

STEL Order is Spanish business software, made in Murcia, with a mobile app built for technical service companies: quotes, work orders signed on the customer's phone, incidents assigned to technicians with their location, and one-click conversion from work order to invoice. To be fair: its public reviews are overwhelmingly five stars, live chat is fast, and the Free plan really is free and Verifactu compliant (Verifactu is Spain's tamper-proof invoice register). Negative reviews are rare. So the reasons to leave come mostly from its pricing, its terms and a handful of specific complaints.

The headline price isn't what a team pays

The "from €18 a month" on marketing pages is the Lite plan paid two years upfront, and Lite only covers quotes and invoices. Technical service (maintenance contracts and incidents), delivery notes, projects and multiple price lists start on Business: €36 a month billed monthly, €30 yearly, €27 on a two-year term, before VAT. Each extra user costs €18 a month on monthly billing. A four-person team on monthly Business pays €36 + 3 × €18 = €90 a month, or €1,080 a year. Fair money for real job management software, but five times the headline number.

A commitment that renews itself

Yearly and two-year plans renew automatically for the same period: a two-year plan rolls over for another two years. Leave mid-term and you keep access until the end date, with no refund for the rest. If it renews by mistake, the terms only allow a refund if you flag it within 30 days, minus the payment processor's fee, and they call a bank chargeback bad practice. The service is for businesses only, so consumer protection rules don't apply.

Few ready-made integrations

Reviewers say it plainly: the API (the interface that lets two apps exchange data) exists, but ready-made integrations are scarce. The good news buried in the pricing table: the API is included from Lite, with daily quotas of 300 calls on Lite, 1,000 on Business and 2,000 on Pro. The real blocker is the lack of ready-made connectors: syncing a store or a CRM takes a developer or an automation tool.

Gaps for field teams

The few critical reviews point at the same holes: invoice templates you can't customize much, no time tracking per incident, and one reviewer misses automatic reminders for unpaid invoices (the pricing page does list overdue-customer tracking from Business, worth checking). Others ask for better matching of grouped bank collections and more video tutorials. For a solo plumber, none of this matters much. For a maintenance company that bills by the hour, missing time tracking per job hurts.

It's built for Spain first

STEL Order runs sites for Spain, France, Europe in English, Chile, Mexico and the US. But the product's core is Spanish: Verifactu, TicketBAI, Spanish VAT. Third-party sites quote dollar prices that don't match each other ($28, $45, $48, $60 depending on the site), while the official list is in euros. If you invoice in the US or the UK, you're paying for compliance features you don't need.

Phone support only on the bigger plans

Chat runs from 8 am to 11 pm and gets praised everywhere for speed. Phone support, from 8 am to 7 pm, only comes with Business and Pro. Lite gets help center, email and chat; Free gets the help center alone. The French app store rating also tells a story: 3.6 out of 5 on seven ratings, against 4.5 on more than 800 in Spain, with French users saying French-language support faded.

The 6 alternatives

STEL Order alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why move to it, who it's for, its limit, how to migrate from STEL Order, and what it costs. Prices are pre-tax, in the currency each vendor shows, as listed in 2026; when a vendor publishes no price, we say so. For reference: STEL Order Business, the first plan with technical service, costs €36 a month billed monthly. We left out Praxedo, which is quote-only, and general business suites like NetSuite or Acumatica, which are a different budget league.

01

Jobber: the field service pick outside Spain

US and UK teams

Why switch to Jobber. If you found STEL Order through its US or Europe site, you're using a tool whose core compliance work targets Spain. Jobber is a field service platform built for North American and English-speaking markets: quotes, scheduling, jobs, invoices and payments. Core costs $49 a month billed monthly with no commitment, $39 with a one-year commitment, or $29 a month billed yearly.

Who it's for. Home service and trades businesses in the US, Canada or the UK that used STEL Order for quotes, work orders and invoicing.

Who it's not for. Anyone invoicing in Spain. Jobber handles neither Verifactu nor TicketBAI, and Spanish VAT formats are patchy. For a Spanish business, it's the wrong move.

Its limit. Each extra user costs $29 a month, and the plans with more automation cost $139, $119 or $99 (Connect) and $199, $169 or $149 (Grow), depending on the same three billing options. A five-person team adds up fast: compare the full team cost, not the Core price.

How to migrate. Export clients and products from STEL Order to Excel or CSV and bring them in during the free trial. Keep your old STEL Order invoices as PDFs in a separate archive.

02

Fixner: the Spanish technical service specialist

Technical service in Spain

Why switch to Fixner. At STEL Order, the technical service module only exists from Business up (€36 a month billed monthly), next to a web store, a catalog and features you may never touch. Fixner does technical service and maintenance only, CMMS style (computerized maintenance management). Its FAQ states Verifactu and TicketBAI support, two users are included, there's no lock-in, and yearly billing saves about 22%.

Who it's for. Spanish maintenance, HVAC or elevator companies paying for STEL Order Business only for incidents and maintenance contracts.

Who it's not for. A business that also sells over the counter or manages a lot of stock: STEL Order or Odoo cover that better.

Its limit. No readable base price: its configurator shows "Desde --" until you pick options. Treat it as quote-based pricing and compare it with your real STEL Order team cost, users included.

How to migrate. Export clients and products to Excel. For incident and equipment history, which STEL Order has no documented export for, ask Fixner to handle the data transfer before you sign.

03

Odoo: when field jobs are only part of the business

Most modular

Why switch to Odoo. STEL Order covers quotes, jobs, stock and invoicing, but integrations remain its weak spot. Odoo is a modular suite: invoicing, accounting, inventory, CRM, projects and field service in one database. One app is free with unlimited users, and official modules handle Verifactu and TicketBAI if you work in Spain.

Who it's for. A growing technical team that wants sales, stock, accounting and technicians connected without stacking subscriptions.

Who it's not for. A solo tradesperson sending ten invoices a month: setup will cost more time than it saves.

Its limit. Standard costs $24.90 per user a month billed yearly. Standard includes all apps, Field Service included per the pricing grid, with limited rights for light users: check it. You'll often need an implementation partner too; get that cost in writing.

How to migrate. Odoo imports everything by CSV. The trick: add an "External ID" column holding each row's STEL Order ID. If an import fails halfway, you rerun it without creating duplicates.

04

Holded: full accounting and projects on top

Full business management

Why switch to Holded. STEL Order exports accounting entries to Excel or CSV for your accountant; Holded keeps full books itself, with projects, a CRM and inventory as an add-on (Inventario, €25 a month). Verifactu comes with every plan, and Holded is registered as TicketBAI software in Bizkaia. Its interface is available in English, which helps expat-run companies in Spain.

Who it's for. Spanish SMBs of 2 to 10 people that invoice more than they dispatch technicians, and want accounting in the same tool.

Who it's not for. A pure technical service company: we didn't find a match for STEL Order's assigned incidents and mobile-signed work orders. Check it during the trial. We cover its weak points in our page on switching from Holded.

Its limit. Plus costs €15 a month for 250 invoices a year, Básico €29, and full accounting starts at Estándar, €59 a month. The first three months are half price: budget for the real price from month four.

How to migrate. Holded imports contacts and products from Excel, the format STEL Order exports. The 14-day trial needs no card, which is enough to import your clients and send a test invoice.

Kubysoft: a Spanish option for small technical teams

Small teams in Spain

Why switch to Kubysoft. Kubysoft is Spanish technical service software that keeps coming up for teams of three to five technicians, with a separate entry plan for self-employed workers. If STEL Order Business plus per-user fees feels heavy for a small crew, it's worth a quote.

Who it's for. Small Spanish repair or installation businesses that need work orders and scheduling but not a web store or catalog.

Who it's not for. Anyone outside Spain, and anyone who needs proven Verifactu or TicketBAI support today.

Its limit. Its official pricing page was down when we compared, and the figures in circulation come from a competitor's blog: check prices directly with Kubysoft. We also couldn't verify Verifactu compliance, so ask for its signed compliance statement before you pay.

How to migrate. Ask for a demo with your own STEL Order Excel export of clients and products, and ask how they'd bring over equipment history.

TS Facturas: if all you use is quotes and invoices

Budget pick in Spain

Why switch to TS Facturas. Lots of STEL Order Lite accounts only send quotes and invoices. For that, TS Facturas (formerly Billin) costs €8 a month, €6.60 yearly, against €24 for Lite billed monthly. It includes Verifactu, Facturae (the public-sector e-invoice format) and TicketBAI from its first plan.

Who it's for. Freelancers and micro-businesses in Spain, Basque Country included, that don't use technical service or stock.

Who it's not for. Anyone dispatching technicians: there's no job management here. The interface is in Spanish.

Its limit. Básico stops at 5 clients and 1 user. Pro (€17 a month, €14 yearly) goes up to 50 clients and 3 users.

How to migrate. With so few clients, typing them in is often faster than importing. There's a 30-day trial. And before paying anything, check whether STEL Order's own Free plan already does the job.

Migration plan

Move off STEL Order in eight steps

Two things matter more with STEL Order than elsewhere: auto-renewal, which can lock you in for another two years, and job history, which has no documented export. Each step protects your money, your data or your compliance.

01

Note your plan, billing period and renewal date

First

Open "Mi STEL Order" and write down three things: your plan (Free, Lite, Business or Pro), your billing period (monthly, yearly or two-year) and your renewal date. On monthly billing you can leave any time. On yearly or two-year terms, the current period is owed and not refunded.

Tip: if you signed up less than 30 days ago, the 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans may still apply. Ask for it in writing.

Monthly
leave any time
Yearly, two-year
no pro rata refund
02

Turn off auto-renewal

Right away

This is the step that stops you paying for another year or two by accident. Turn off renewal in "Mi STEL Order" as soon as you decide, even if the end date is far off, and keep a screenshot.

If it has already renewed, you have 30 days to flag it and get a refund, minus the payment processor's fee. After that, the new period is owed.

Keep
a screenshot
03

Line up the switch with your renewal date and a new quarter

Calendar

In Spain, switch on the first day of a quarter, once the previous quarter's VAT return is filed, so no return gets split between two tools. Elsewhere, pick the start of a month so your accountant gets clean periods.

Ideally your STEL Order end date falls right after. If not, keep STEL Order read-only until it ends and start invoicing in the new tool.

Best
new quarter, just before renewal
04

Export clients, suppliers, products and accounting

Data

Data import and export come with every plan. Export clients, suppliers and your product catalog to Excel or CSV, then your bank transactions and the accounting entries STEL Order generates.

Open each file before moving on. An empty or cut-off export is obvious now and invisible once your subscription is closed.

Format
Excel or CSV
Content
clients, suppliers, products, bank, entries
05

Download invoice and signed work order PDFs

Legal

We found no public help article describing a bulk PDF export of invoices. Plan time to download invoices and signed work orders, or ask support whether they can send them in one batch.

Spain requires you to keep invoices for 4 years. Store everything in a dated folder outside STEL Order and open a few files at random to check they're readable.

no documented bulk PDF export
06

Recover job and equipment history

Field service

This is the weak spot of any STEL Order exit: incident history, work orders and the equipment installed at each customer have no documented export. For a technical service business, that's often the most valuable data.

Ask STEL Order support what they can extract, then test the transfer during the new tool's trial with ten real customers. If nothing works, at least build a spreadsheet of equipment per customer.

Risk

07

Start a new invoice series and get compliance in writing

Legal

In the new tool, start a new invoice series (for example "2027-B") or continue from the last number issued, with no gaps or duplicates. In Spain, ask the vendor for its signed Verifactu compliance statement; in the Basque Country, check it's a registered TicketBAI provider with your provincial tax office.

Outside Spain, check the tool meets your own country's e-invoicing rules.

08

Drop to the Free plan instead of closing everything

Last

Instead of cancelling outright, you can move down to the Free plan at €0, still Verifactu compliant. This is our own inference, so confirm it with support: you'd keep access to your documents while you double-check your archive. Free has no technical service module and no extra users.

The month after your end date, check your bank statement. Dispute any unexpected charge with STEL Order within 30 days, not through your bank.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a STEL Order migration go wrong

Few users complain about STEL Order itself. The bad surprises come from timing, the terms, and data you think you exported. Six mistakes to avoid.

Leaving auto-renewal on

A two-year plan renews for two years. More than 30 days after renewal, no refund. Turn it off the day you decide.

Leaving mid-term

Yearly and two-year plans aren't refunded pro rata. Leaving early means paying for two tools. Time your switch to the end date.

Assuming the export covers everything

Clients, products and accounting export to Excel or CSV. Incident and equipment history doesn't. Check before you close anything.

Comparing headline prices

STEL Order's "from €18" means two years upfront with no technical service. Compare full teams, users included, over the same period.

Switching mid-quarter

A Spanish VAT return split across two tools is a recipe for errors for you and your accountant. Switch at the start of a quarter.

Picking a tool with the wrong compliance

A US field service app doesn't handle Verifactu. If you invoice in Spain, get written proof of compliance before you pay.

  • Plan, billing period and end date noted
  • Auto-renewal turned off, screenshot kept
  • Switch date set at the start of a quarter
  • Clients, suppliers and products exported to Excel or CSV
  • Bank transactions and accounting entries exported
  • Invoice and signed work order PDFs downloaded
  • Equipment history recovered or backup spreadsheet built
  • New invoice series started
  • Written compliance proof from the new tool
  • Next month's bank statement checked

STEL Order alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • How much does STEL Order cost?

Billed monthly, Lite is €24, Business €36 and Pro €60 a month, before VAT. Yearly drops that to €20, €30 and €50 a month; a two-year term to €18, €27 and €45. Extra users cost €9 to €27 a month depending on plan and term. The number that matters: technical service starts on Business, so at least €30 a month on yearly billing, before users.

  • Is STEL Order free?

Yes, there's a Free plan at €0 with no time limit, and it's Verifactu compliant. It has no technical service module, no extra users, and support is limited to the help center. Good for a solo invoicer, and possibly a fallback to keep access to your documents after you migrate (confirm with support).

  • Can I cancel STEL Order any time?

You can leave any time, but you won't always get money back. Monthly plans stop whenever you want. Yearly and two-year plans keep running until the end date with no refund, and they renew for the same length unless you turn renewal off in "Mi STEL Order".

  • Does STEL Order work in the US?

STEL Order has a US site and a Shopify app, but its pricing is set in euros and its compliance work targets Spain. Dollar prices on review sites don't match each other, so ask for a written quote in dollars. For a US field service business, Jobber is the more natural fit. If you run a company in Spain, our ranking of Verifactu software for Spanish SMBs lists the compliant options.

  • How long is the STEL Order free trial?

15 days according to the pricing page, although some comparison sites say 30. The trick: paid plans also carry a 30-day money-back guarantee, and STEL Order offers free data import. Have them run the import during the trial and you'll see right away whether your files come through.

  • STEL Order or Jobber: which one?

STEL Order if you invoice in Spain: it handles Verifactu and is a certified TicketBAI provider. Jobber if you work in the US, Canada or the UK: it's built for those markets and has far more integrations. Neither is cheap once you add users, so price your full team on both.

  • Does STEL Order support TicketBAI?

Yes: STEL Order presents itself as a certified provider for the tax offices of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. Its pricing page doesn't say which plan includes it, though, so ask in writing. To compare other tools that handle it, read our guide to Verifactu and TicketBAI software.

  • Can I connect STEL Order to other tools without switching?

Partly. STEL Order has few native integrations, but an automation tool like Make can move your data to a CRM, a spreadsheet or a store. See our STEL Order on Make page. Sometimes an automation fixes the problem that made you want to leave.
