Billo alternatives: where to go when prepaid video packs stop working

Five platforms in detail, one per reason to leave, and a seven-step exit plan.

The short answer: Insense if you run paid social all year and need a steady flow of new videos. Trend.io if you also need product photos: its entry pack covers 6 videos or 15 photos. JoinBrands if you want affiliates and TikTok Shop alongside paid videos, with a free plan to start. Influee if you sell in Europe as well as the US. Youdji if you'd rather pay creators directly with no subscription and no brand-side fee. Before you pick, check your Billo balance: a pack expires 12 months after purchase. We compared the five platforms in this guide and read their terms in 2026.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why brands move off Billo

Billo's model is simple and it works for a lot of people: buy a pack, post an order, pick from the creators who apply, and own the video once it's paid and approved. Billo says more than 37,000 brands have used it. People leave for other reasons: money locked in a balance, a video-only catalog, and uneven results. Six of them, each checked against Billo's own terms or its customers' reviews.

Your balance expires after 12 months

Billo sells packs: $1,000 (up to 10 videos), $2,500 plus a $300 bonus (up to 28 videos), $5,000 plus a $700 bonus (up to 57 videos). Its brand terms say every pack is valid for twelve months from the date of purchase. Whatever you haven't spent by then is gone. One reviewer puts it bluntly: "the fact that my credits expired really stinks since I paid for them." Another says they're "using up the rest of the credits" before finding a new platform.

Refunds are the exception

Packs are non-refundable, with one carve-out: you can request compensation if no creator has been selected for an order within 30 days of its creation, and a 25% administrative fee comes off the unused amount. Billo's pricing page frames this as a guarantee. In practice it covers a narrow case, and some reviewers describe slow answers once they ask.

Photos cost extra, and no TikTok Shop

Billo does sell photos, but as an additional service paid from the same balance as your videos, like expert editing, extra hooks or partnership ads: every add-on cuts the number of videos in your pack. Billo also says it doesn't support TikTok Shop campaigns, affiliate link structures or product seeding programs. If your plan mixes ad videos, product photos and commission-based creators, you'll pay for photos out of your video budget and still need another tool for affiliates.

Creator quality is a lottery

It's the most common complaint in recent reviews. One customer says "the creators quality is getting worse and they no longer justify the money, product and time investment." Another reports receiving a video from a different creator than the one they picked, with no refund. When a creator misreads your product, a round of edits rarely saves a video that was off from the start.

A creator pool limited to three countries

Billo lists more than 5,000 vetted creators in the US, Canada and the UK. If you also sell in Europe or Latin America, you need a second platform for native-language videos.

Shipping is on you

Every creator needs your product before filming, and getting it to them is your job. For a brand shipping from outside North America, that means customs and delays per creator. Even domestically, ten creators means ten parcels before a single video is shot.

The 5 alternatives

Billo alternatives, platform by platform

For each platform: why you'd move there, who it fits, its catch, how to switch from Billo, and what it costs. Prices are the ones each vendor lists in 2026. One thing to keep in mind as you read: on Billo, a basic video works out to roughly $100 whatever the pack, since $1,000 covers up to 10 videos and $5,700 of credit covers up to 57.

01

Insense: the always-on program for paid social

Best for ongoing ads

Why move to Insense. Insense is built for brands that keep ads running all year and burn through creatives fast. It lists 115k+ responsive creators across 57+ countries and lifetime rights on the content, so you aren't stuck with three markets.

Who it's for. Performance teams testing new hooks every week on Meta and TikTok, with an ad budget already in place.

Who it's not for. A small brand that needs four videos a quarter. The subscription is too heavy for that volume.

The catch. The subscription doesn't include creator fees. The Brand plan costs $400 a month billed annually, and the one-month Trial plan $650, which then moves to quarterly billing. Creator payments carry a 10% fee on Brand (20% on the Trial). Insense says creator payments must be budgeted separately, so add both before you compare with Billo's per-video price.

How to switch. Use your best Billo videos as reference clips in your first Insense brief. Don't pull your Billo creators over to Insense: Billo's terms bar you from engaging them outside Billo for 12 months after your last order or exchange with them. Recruit similar new profiles instead.

Trend.io: videos and photos from the same pack

Video and photo

Why move to Trend.io. Trend.io sells mixed packs where photos have a clear, upfront price. Its Starter pack, at $550, covers up to 6 videos or 15 photos. You get 100% licensing and distribution rights for social, websites and ads. Larger packs step up to $1,045, $1,980 and $3,872, the last one covering 56 videos.

Who it's for. US brands that want lifestyle product photos for their store and ads alongside short videos.

Who it's not for. Anyone leaving Billo because of expiring credits. Trend.io credits also expire 12 months after purchase.

The catch. Expect 2 to 3 weeks on average to get all your content back. Per video, the entry pack works out to about $91.67, a little less than the roughly $100 inside a Billo pack, and you get the photo option.

How to switch. Time your Trend.io purchase for when your Billo balance runs out, not before. Otherwise you're juggling two balances on two expiry clocks.

JoinBrands: paid videos, affiliates and TikTok Shop

Widest scope

Why move to JoinBrands. JoinBrands does what Billo turns down: affiliate programs and commission-based creators sit next to paid video orders. The company talks about collaborations with 4M+ creators and affiliates. The Free plan has no subscription and a 15% platform fee; Start-up costs $99 a month (12%), Pro $299 (10%) and Max $499 (8%).

Who it's for. US brands mixing paid UGC, affiliate creators and TikTok Shop sales, who want one tool instead of three.

Who it's not for. A brand that only wants a handful of polished ad videos and no affiliate program. In our reading, the extra features add noise there.

The catch. The free plan is tempting, but a 15% fee on every creator payment overtakes a subscription once volume grows. Paid plans also come with a monthly rollover credit, so compare both on your real volume.

How to switch. Start on the Free plan with a single campaign that mirrors your best Billo order. Move to a paid plan the month your creator spend crosses the break-even point.

Influee: one subscription for the US and Europe

Most creators

Why move to Influee. Influee lists more than 180,000 UGC creators worldwide and publishes average creator prices for more than 30 countries across Europe and the Americas. You post a campaign, pick creators, and approve every video with unlimited revisions. Usage rights cover all content, and the subscription is month to month: no balance waiting to expire.

Who it's for. Brands that order every month and sell in more than one country, especially across Europe.

Who it's not for. A brand that forgets to cancel. For three videos a year, one Starter month ($229) plus three videos at the $92 US average and the 10% fee comes to about $533, well under a $1,000 Billo pack. The catch is the monthly subscription: it keeps billing $229 until you cancel it.

The catch. Pricing has two parts. Starter costs $229 a month for up to 10 creator collaborations, Basic $529 for 25, Pro $999 for 50. Creator payments come on top, with a 10% marketplace fee. Influee publishes its own averages: a 30-second UGC video in the US costs about $92 in creator fees.

How to switch. Influee runs a landing page aimed at Billo users. In practice, rebuild your campaign from your Billo brief, keep the same structure (hook in the first 3 seconds, demo, call to action), and cancel any month if the pool doesn't fit.

Youdji: pay creators directly, no subscription

Free for brands

Why move to Youdji. Youdji flips the model: brands pay no subscription and no commission. Each creator lists their own prices on a portfolio, and the creator side pays a 20% commission. Secure payments, automatic invoicing and file transfer are included. The site runs in six languages, which helps if you sell outside English-speaking markets.

Who it's for. Small brands that want to try creator content without committing $1,000 upfront, and brands selling in several languages.

Who it's not for. Teams that want a fixed, predictable price per video. Here, every creator sets their own rate.

The catch. Comparing creators takes time when every price is different. And with no subscription, there's no account manager: you handle selection, briefs and follow-ups yourself.

How to switch. Open a free account, filter by language and niche, and compare three portfolios on the price of a 30-second video. Within an hour you'll know whether you beat the roughly $100 a video you pay inside a Billo pack.

Exit plan

Leave Billo in seven steps

Leaving Billo isn't technical: no contact list to export, no domain to set up. What you can lose is money (the balance), files (the videos) and proof (the rights). The order below protects all three.

01

Work out what's left on your balance, and until when

Day 1

Note two numbers: the amount left, and the purchase date of each pack. Billo's terms say a pack stays valid for twelve months from purchase unless stated otherwise. Bonus credits on the bigger packs follow the same rule.

If what's left still covers three or four videos, don't let it lapse: order the English-language videos you'll need for the next quarter before you move.

Validity
12 months from purchase
Risk
balance lost
02

Claim what you can

An order with no creator selected within 30 days of its creation qualifies for compensation under section 6.9 of Billo's terms. It's the only route to recover unused funds, and a 25% administrative fee is withheld.

Make the request in writing, with the order number and its creation date, and keep the thread.

Condition
no creator within 30 days
Fee
withheld from the amount
03

Download every video and the raw files

Day 1

Billo's terms don't promise access to your deliverables after you leave. Download every approved video at full quality, plus raw files when the creator provided them. File them by product and by hook, with each one's ad results.

This is also when you shortlist your winners: they become the template for your next orders.

Keep
videos, raw files, ad results
04

Archive proof that the rights are yours

On Billo, the creator irrevocably assigns you all rights in the video once it's paid and accepted. Keep invoices and order pages: they're your proof if a creator ever disputes an ad.

One thing stays off-limits: Billo bans any AI-altered depiction of a creator (a clone of their face or voice) without their separate written consent. That still applies after you leave.

Proof

Banned

05

Re-request ad authorizations

If you run Spark Ads on TikTok or partnership ads on Instagram from a creator's account, those authorizations were granted around your Billo order. List each video and the creator behind it.

Careful: Billo's terms include a non-solicitation clause. You can't engage a creator you met on Billo outside Billo for 12 months after your last order or exchange with them. To keep a creator, keep ordering through Billo, or wait out that window.

Track
video and creator for each ad
06

Turn your best briefs into templates

Keep the structure of the videos that won (a hook in the first 3 seconds, the problem, the demo, the call to action) and rewrite the wording for each new creator pool. If you're expanding to Europe, have native speakers write the hooks rather than translating them.

Ask up front for product photos, a short cut for stories, a long cut for your product page.

Keep
the structure of winning videos
07

Run a small test order, then switch

Week 2

Order two or three videos on the new platform for the same products as your best Billo videos. Run them on the same ad budget for a week and compare cost per purchase.

If the new videos match or beat the old ones, move your orders over. If not, change creators before you change platforms: the gap almost always comes from the creator, rarely from the tool.

Exit pitfalls

What makes a Billo exit go wrong

The same mistakes come up again and again in reviews from brands that switched platforms. None is fatal on its own, but each costs more than the time it would have taken to avoid.

Letting the balance lapse

The most common loss. A $2,500 pack bought ten months ago with $800 left means $800 to spend in two months or lose. Plan your last orders before you sign elsewhere.

Comparing rights that aren't equal

Billo assigns rights for good. Insense advertises lifetime rights. Trend.io grants 100% licensing for social, web and ads. Before comparing prices, compare what you're allowed to do with the video, and for how long.

Forgetting creator fees inside a subscription

On Influee and Insense, the subscription buys access to the network, not the videos. Creators are paid on top, with a 10% fee on Influee and on Insense's Brand plan (20% on its Trial). Always add both before comparing with a per-video price.

Switching platform and creators at once

If the first video disappoints, you won't know whether it's the platform or the creator. Start with profiles close to the ones that worked on Billo (age, tone, filming style), then widen.

Ignoring the expiry clock on the next platform

Trend.io credits also expire after 12 months. If expiring balances are why you're leaving, a monthly subscription (Influee) or no subscription at all (Youdji) solves the problem; another prepaid pack doesn't.

FAQ · 8 questions

Billo alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • How much does Billo cost?

Billo says videos start at $99. In practice you buy a pack: $1,000 for up to 10 videos, $2,500 (plus $300 bonus) for up to 28, $5,000 (plus $700 bonus) for up to 57. The same balance pays for Billo's other services, so every add-on cuts the number of videos. Billo also sells CreativeOps from $149 a month and a managed service from $2,000 a month.

  • Is Billo worth it in 2026?

It depends on your volume and your market. At roughly $100 per basic video inside a pack, Billo is fair for a US, Canadian or UK brand that will spend its balance within 12 months. It's a poor fit if you order a few videos a year (the balance may lapse), sell outside English-speaking markets, or need affiliates and TikTok Shop.

  • Do Billo credits expire?

Yes. Billo's terms say all packs are valid for twelve months from purchase unless stated otherwise. Unused funds are lost after that, and packs are non-refundable except when no creator was selected for an order within 30 days.

  • Do I keep the rights to my Billo videos after I leave?

Yes. Once a video is paid and accepted, the creator irrevocably assigns you all rights. You can keep running it. The one exception: no AI-altered version of the creator without their written consent.

  • What's the cheapest Billo alternative?

On the brand side, Youdji: no subscription and no commission, you only pay the creator's listed price. JoinBrands also has a free plan, but takes a 15% fee on every creator payment.

  • Which Billo alternative also does photos?

Trend.io. Its $550 Starter pack covers up to 6 videos or 15 photos. Billo sells photos too, but as an add-on paid from your video balance. Note that Trend.io credits also expire 12 months after purchase.

  • How fast do Billo alternatives deliver?

Trend.io takes 2 to 3 weeks on average. On Insense and marketplaces like Influee, JoinBrands and Youdji it depends on the creator. Shipping your product always adds time on top.

  • Which Billo alternative works for brands selling in Europe?

Influee, with creator pools across Europe in the same subscription, or Youdji, with no subscription and a site in six languages. Billo lists creators in the US, Canada and the UK. Our ranking of UGC platforms compares more options.
