GoHighLevel alternatives: where to go and how to switch cleanly
Six destinations, one per reason to leave, and a seven-step migration plan.
The short answer: Systeme.io if you're a solo owner paying GoHighLevel for funnels and email (free up to 2,000 contacts, then $17 a month), HubSpot if your clients want real reporting, ClickFunnels if funnels are the whole business, ActiveCampaign if email automation drives your revenue, Vendasta if you want to stay a white-label agency, Kajabi if you mostly sell courses. One thing first: GoHighLevel doesn't export your sites, funnels or workflows to another platform. Contacts leave as a CSV file, phone numbers leave through support. We compared these six tools, their prices and their migration paths in 2026.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a rating.
Why people leave GoHighLevel, and why it takes a while
Let's be fair: GoHighLevel is loved by a lot of its users (4.9 out of 5 across more than 15,000 public reviews, only 2% one-star), and plenty of agencies saved real money moving CRM, funnels, SMS and booking off HubSpot. People leave for other reasons: a bill that grows with usage, the learning curve, and needs the platform doesn't cover well. These six come up most.
The subscription is only the start of the bill
Starter is $97 a month, Unlimited $297, the next tier $497. Then everything that consumes gets billed on top: each SMS segment at $0.00747 plus carrier fees (AT&T adds $0.0035), each call minute, with partial minutes rounded up, each email, the AI. AI Employee adds $50 to $97 per sub-account per month, WhatsApp $10, a branded mobile app $497. Surprise credit auto-recharges are a recurring theme in negative reviews.
Two to four weeks to feel at home
The learning curve is the most cited complaint in public reviews, with more than 140 mentions on a single review site. One agency coming from HubSpot describes two weeks of setup, then three to four weeks to get comfortable. If you just wanted a funnel and follow-ups, that's a steep price.
An agency tool for a one-brand business
GoHighLevel is built around sub-accounts: one per client, with rebilling. If you're a coach, a clinic or a local shop with one brand, you're paying for multi-client architecture you'll never use. Starter at $97 includes 3 sub-accounts; you need one.
Reporting that falls short for demanding clients
Agencies serving bigger clients point to attribution and reporting as the weak spot next to HubSpot. When a client wants to know which campaign closed which deal, you end up in a spreadsheet. Custom fields also need manual remapping on the way out.
Slow sites that struggle on SEO
On an SEO forum, a consultant describes a client whose Core Web Vitals score (Google's speed metrics) dropped from 90 to 50 after moving to a GoHighLevel site, blaming heavy code and JavaScript. For a paid-traffic landing page, that's fine. For a site that needs organic rankings, it isn't.
Support and billing friction
Support gets as much praise as criticism: negative reviews mention tickets dragging for days and a month billed after cancellation. The 14-day trial turns into an automatic charge, and the started month stays due. Note your trial date and keep written proof of your cancellation.

GoHighLevel alternatives, one by one
For each tool: why move there, who it's for, its limit, how to migrate and what it costs. Prices are the ones listed in 2026 on each vendor's official pricing page, in US dollars.
The tools
Systeme.io: the cheapest way out for a solo business
CheapestWhy move to Systeme.io. If you use GoHighLevel for funnels, email and courses, Systeme.io covers the same ground for a fraction of the price. The free plan keeps 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels and 1 course, no credit card. Startup is $17 a month (5,000 contacts, 10 funnels), Webinar $47, Unlimited $97. Email is unlimited on every plan and no plan takes a cut of your sales. No usage meter on email, unlike GoHighLevel.
Who it's for. Coaches, course creators and digital product sellers who bought GoHighLevel for one business.
Who it's not for. Agencies running several clients (no rebillable sub-accounts), and businesses that live on SMS and calls: Systeme.io doesn't do either.
Its limit. Design freedom and depth. Pages are built from blocks, automations stay simple next to GoHighLevel workflows, and the sales pipeline is thinner.
How to migrate. Systeme.io offers a free migration on the monthly Unlimited plan or any yearly plan. Ask before you pay whether a GoHighLevel account is in scope. Otherwise, import contacts by CSV with their tags and rebuild funnels from your screenshots. Tip: Startup yearly (2 months free) gets you the migration for about $170 instead of $1,164 a year on monthly Unlimited.

HubSpot: the pick when clients want numbers
ReportingWhy move to HubSpot. It's the tool agencies name when they compare reporting: deal attribution, campaign dashboards, a clean timeline on every contact. The free CRM covers 2 users. When a client asks where each sale came from, you see the gap in the first monthly report.
Who it's for. Sales teams and agencies whose clients have real marketing budgets and a sales team to track.
Who it's not for. Budget-tight solo owners, and agencies that resold GoHighLevel under their own brand: HubSpot isn't white-label.
Its limit. The Pro wall. Marketing Hub Professional runs $800 a month billed yearly for 3 seats, plus a mandatory $3,000 onboarding fee. That's about $12,600 in year one, against $3,564 for a year of GoHighLevel Unlimited before usage. No GoHighLevel-style funnel builder either.
How to migrate. Import contacts and companies by CSV, then deals pipeline by pipeline, after recreating the stages exactly. Map your custom fields before you import: that's where migrations slip. Our HubSpot review breaks down every tier.
- Free
- CRM, 2 users
- Pro
- $800/month + $3,000

ClickFunnels: the pick when funnels are the business
FunnelsWhy move to ClickFunnels. If you mainly used GoHighLevel to build and sell through funnels, ClickFunnels is the specialist. Launch costs $97 a month ($81 billed yearly), Scale $197 ($164), Optimize $297 ($248). Workspaces scale with the plan: 1, 5, then 10.
Who it's for. Info-product sellers and small teams whose revenue runs through order bumps and one-click upsells.
Who it's not for. Anyone who relied on GoHighLevel's phone and SMS: the ClickFunnels pricing page doesn't list texting. Agencies with dozens of clients will also pay more per workspace than with Unlimited sub-accounts.
Its limit. No free plan and a narrower scope: no calling, no review management, no reputation tools.
How to migrate. No native import from GoHighLevel. Bring contacts by CSV, rebuild funnels from screenshots, and reconnect the same Stripe account so active subscriptions keep billing. Our guide to switching from ClickFunnels covers the reverse trip and its pitfalls.
- Launch
- $97/month ($81 yearly)
- Workspaces

ActiveCampaign: the pick for email automation
AutomationWhy move to ActiveCampaign. If your money comes from email sequences, ActiveCampaign goes further than GoHighLevel there: branching automations, fine conditions, split tests inside automations. Starter is $15 a month billed yearly ($19 month to month) for 1,000 contacts, Plus $49.
Who it's for. Creators, ecommerce brands and service businesses whose list drives revenue.
Who it's not for. Teams that need funnels, calendars, SMS and calls under one login: you'll be adding tools.
Its limit. Price climbs with every contact. At 10,000 contacts, Plus costs $189 a month billed yearly, and SMS is a paid add-on ($21 a month for 1,000 credits).
How to migrate. CSV import with tags, then rebuild automations: list every trigger and action of your GoHighLevel workflows in a sheet before leaving, and use it as your spec. Our ActiveCampaign review covers the tiers.
- Starter
- $15/month yearly
- Plus
- $49/month
- At 10,000 contacts

Vendasta: the pick to stay a white-label agency
AgenciesWhy move to Vendasta. If you're leaving GoHighLevel but keeping the agency model (a portal in your name, tools resold to clients), Vendasta is the most direct swap. Starter is $99 a month, no commitment, 1 seat. Professional, $499 a month on a one-year commitment, unlocks the white-label client portal. Premium goes to $999.
Who it's for. Local-marketing agencies selling a catalog (listings, reviews, ads) to many small businesses.
Who it's not for. An agency with a handful of clients: $499 locked for a year is $5,988, more than GoHighLevel Unlimited yearly at $2,970.
Its limit. The monthly minimum. It counts toward your product purchases, so if you resell little, you still pay it. And the real selling point, white label, needs the annual commitment.
How to migrate. No native GoHighLevel import. Export each sub-account's contacts as its own CSV, then attach them to the matching client account in Vendasta. Move one pilot client first, not the whole book.
- Starter
- $99/month, no commitment
- Professional
- $499/month, 1 year
- White label

Kajabi: the pick for course businesses
CoursesWhy move to Kajabi. GoHighLevel can host courses, but it isn't its core. Kajabi is built around the course product: courses, community, site and digital products, with funnels around them. Basic is $179 a month ($143 billed yearly), Growth $249, Pro $499. One coaching business publicly described moving its membership area from GoHighLevel to Kajabi and plugging a separate email tool in through Make.
Who it's for. Creators whose revenue comes from courses and memberships and who want a clean student experience.
Who it's not for. Tight budgets, or businesses that live on phone and SMS.
Its limit. Fees and caps. With a third-party payment processor, Kajabi adds 2% on Basic, and Basic's 2,500 contacts go fast.
How to migrate. Import contacts and students by CSV, then rebuild courses. Videos need re-uploading: pull them from your original files rather than from GoHighLevel.

Moving off GoHighLevel in seven steps
Order matters. Each step protects something: your contacts, your numbers, your deliverability, your clients. Golden rule: cancel last.
The steps
Inventory every sub-account
Day 1For each sub-account: pipelines and stages, funnels and sites, workflows and their triggers, calendars, forms, phone numbers, connected domains and custom fields. One row per item in a spreadsheet.
Take full-page screenshots of every page, desktop and mobile. No site or funnel leaves GoHighLevel any other way: the official help center says there's no supported method for exporting a website.
- Time
- half a day per client
- Output
- one sheet, one row per item
Export contacts and opportunities
Day 1Contacts export as CSV from the Contacts menu, by an admin user, on desktop: the mobile app can't do it. Large exports land in Bulk Actions. Export opportunities too, one pipeline at a time.
Check phone formatting: keep numbers in E.164 (+1 555…) so they re-import cleanly. One file per sub-account, stored outside GoHighLevel.
- Who
- an admin, on desktop
- Trap
- badly formatted phones
Save conversations and recordings
Before the switchThis is the one everyone forgets. Moving a number does not move contacts, conversations, call recordings or voicemails. If a client needs that history (disputes, compliance), download what matters before you touch the numbers.
- Risk
- lost call history
- Rule
- download before moving
Rebuild pipelines, funnels and workflows
Week 1Recreate pipeline stages exactly first, then import opportunities; the reverse order breaks the mapping. Rebuild funnels starting with the one that earns the most, from your screenshots. Copying a published page's HTML can serve as a reference, but it isn't a supported method.
Workflows don't export. Work from your trigger-and-action sheet, and drop the ones nobody used.
- Time
- 1 to 3 days per funnel
- Tip
- highest-earning funnel first
Repoint domains and authenticate sending
Week 2Point your page DNS to the new platform, then authenticate your sending domain there (SPF, DKIM, DMARC). If you sent through LC Email, GoHighLevel's built-in email (which runs on Mailgun), remove the old records once the switch is done. Our guide to switching from Mailgun covers the domain side.
Send to your most engaged contacts first so Gmail and Yahoo learn to trust the new setup. Our Mailchimp switching guide details their sender rules.
- To do
- SPF, DKIM, DMARC
- Tip
- most engaged contacts first
Move phone numbers without losing them
Week 2To take a number out of LC Phone (GoHighLevel's telephony), go through HighLevel support: the transfer goes to a Twilio account, in 1 to 2 business days. Keep the number active the whole time and release nothing before confirmation. Re-register A2P 10DLC (the mandatory US registration for business texting) on arrival.
If your destination isn't Twilio, there's no official direct path: land on Twilio first, then port out. Our guide to switching from Twilio picks up from there.
- Time
- 1 to 2 business days
- Rule
- number stays active
Cancel, last
End of monthCancel from the agency view, under Settings then Billing; the GoHighLevel team confirms it. The started month is billed, so aim for the day before renewal. Keep a screenshot of the confirmation: negative reviews mention charges after cancellation.
Before you click, turn off phone and email credit auto-recharge so you don't top up an account that's closing.
- Path
- Settings > Billing (agency view)
- Trap
- auto-recharge still on

What makes a GoHighLevel exit go wrong
The same mistakes keep showing up. None is technical: they're oversights, and each one costs clients or calls.
Canceling before everything is out
Contacts, opportunities, recordings: whatever isn't exported goes with the account. Export, open each file, check the row count, then cancel.
Releasing a number too early
A number released before the transfer completes is gone, and so are your clients' calls. Keep it live in GoHighLevel until support confirms, even if it costs one more month.
Comparing plans without usage
Your real GoHighLevel bill is the plan plus SMS, minutes, email and AI. Pull your last three invoices before comparing, or a $99 alternative may look pricier than a $97 plan that actually cost you $200.
Skipping A2P 10DLC
A number that changes accounts has to redo its A2P 10DLC registration, or carriers filter your texts. Start the paperwork the day you request the transfer.
Moving every client at once
An agency that flips twenty sub-accounts in one weekend finds every mistake twenty times. Move one pilot client, fix your plan, then batch three to five at a time.
Swapping one agency tool for another when you're solo
If you run one business, don't replace GoHighLevel with another multi-client platform. Compare simpler CRMs in our list of the best CRMs instead.
GoHighLevel alternatives: common questions
What is the best GoHighLevel alternative?
It depends on who you are. Solo business: Systeme.io, free up to 2,000 contacts. Agency with demanding clients: HubSpot for reporting. Agency that wants to keep white label: Vendasta. No single tool replaces all of GoHighLevel at its price.
Is there a free alternative to GoHighLevel?
Partly. Systeme.io keeps 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels and 1 course free, with unlimited email, and HubSpot's CRM is free for 2 users. Neither covers SMS and calling, so you'd likely pair two tools.
Is there anything cheaper than GoHighLevel?
Yes, if you're one business. Systeme.io Startup is $17 a month against $97 for GoHighLevel Starter, and there's no usage bill on email. For an agency with ten or more clients, GoHighLevel Unlimited at $297 is hard to beat on price.
Is HubSpot better than GoHighLevel?
For reporting and attribution, yes. On price and all-in-one, no: Marketing Hub Professional is $800 a month billed yearly plus $3,000 onboarding, and HubSpot can't be resold under your brand.
Can I export my GoHighLevel funnels and workflows?
No. The help center says there's no supported way to export a website, and public requests for a WordPress export haven't shipped. Contacts leave as CSV; pages and workflows are rebuilt.
How do I move my LC Phone numbers?
Ask HighLevel support to transfer them to a Twilio account; it takes 1 to 2 business days. Keep the number active, redo A2P 10DLC on arrival, and export conversations first, because they don't travel with the number.
How do I cancel GoHighLevel without paying an extra month?
Cancel from the agency view under Settings then Billing, the day before renewal: the started month is due. Turn off credit auto-recharge first and keep a screenshot of the confirmation.
Are Keap or Kartra good GoHighLevel alternatives?
Rarely. Keap starts at $299 a month for 1,500 contacts plus a mandatory onboarding of about $499. Kartra starts at $59, but that plan takes 5% of your sales. Our Keap review and Kartra review explain why.
