Loox alternatives: where to go when the bill grows with your sales

Eight review apps in detail, one for each reason to leave, plus an eight-step migration plan.

The short answer: Judge.me if you want unlimited photo and video reviews for free, and Google Shopping stars for $15 a month. Junip if you want a free plan with no order cap and a clean interface. Fera if your volume is high and you want a price you can predict. Okendo or Yotpo if your brand is scaling and needs a fuller suite. Ali Reviews if you run a dropshipping store. Two things to know before you pick. Loox's free plan ends for good at 500 total orders. And when you leave, Judge.me doesn't import your videos by default, so you reattach them by hand. We compared these eight apps, their pricing and their import paths from Loox in 2026.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why stores leave Loox

Loox is well liked: 4.9 out of 5 across more than 10,000 merchant reviews on the Shopify App Store. Its customer photo galleries look great, and some merchants stay for that alone. The exits come from elsewhere: a bill tied to your order count, a free plan that runs out, and key features locked behind the paid tier. Six reasons, all checked in 2026.

The free plan ends at 500 orders, permanently

Loox advertises its free plan as "up to 500 orders". The catch sits in the help center: those 500 orders are lifetime, not monthly. Once you hit 500 fulfilled orders, the plan is gone and you move to Convert. A store doing 100 orders a month is out of the free tier in five months. It's a long trial, not a free plan.

Every 300 orders adds $50

Convert costs $49.99 a month and includes 300 orders. Each extra block of 300 orders costs $50, and Loox adds it to your monthly quota automatically. At 900 orders a month you pay $149.99. At 1,500 orders, $249.99. You don't pick the tier; your sales do. The old Scale plan ($39.99 plus $40 per block) is closed to new subscribers.

Getting off the meter costs $299.99

There's only one way to stop paying per order: Unlimited, at $299.99 a month with no quota at all. Nothing sits between $49.99 and $299.99. A growing store spends months stacking $50 blocks, then jumps to $300 a month. Judge.me's paid plan stays at $15 whatever your volume.

Google Shopping stars need a paid plan

Showing your ratings in Google Shopping ads takes Convert or higher, at least 50 reviews in total, and only verified reviews collected by Loox. Reviews you mark as verified by hand don't count. Google can also take up to 30 days to process the feed. The same feature costs less elsewhere: $15 a month on Judge.me, from $15 on Yotpo Starter, whose price then follows your orders.

Surprise usage fees and weak support

Most one-star reviews on the App Store tell the same story. Merchants find usage fees on their Shopify bill, sometimes several hundred dollars in a month, and support that can't explain the math. Others mention plan changes and renamed plans that weren't clearly announced. Several recent reviews also say other review apps have caught up on features.

Reviews auto-published with no spam filter

One merchant complains about reviews going live automatically with no way to block spam. Another reports a video upload bug that never got fixed. These aren't the majority, but if your niche attracts fake reviews, look hard at the moderation settings of your next app. And Loox only runs on Shopify, so a move to another platform means switching anyway.

The 8 alternatives

Loox alternatives, app by app

For each app: why move to it, who it fits, where it falls short, how to migrate from Loox, and what it costs. Prices are the ones listed on the Shopify App Store in 2026, in US dollars. Labs scores come from our review app ranking.

01

Judge.me: what Loox charges for, free or close to it

Our pick

Why switch to Judge.me. It's the mirror image of Loox's pricing. The Forever Free plan has no time limit and no order cap: unlimited photo and video reviews, Google reviews sync, review stars in search results (rich snippets) and an importer with AliExpress sync. Awesome costs $15 a month flat, whatever your order count. It adds Google Shopping stars, coupons and referrals, AI help and Q&A.

The math. A store doing 900 orders a month pays $149.99 on Loox Convert and $15 on Judge.me Awesome. Over a year, that's more than $1,600 back in your pocket.

Who it's for. Shopify stores of any size that want solid photo reviews and Google Shopping stars without a bill indexed to sales.

Who it's not for. Stores off Shopify: Judge.me has dropped WooCommerce, Squarespace, BigCommerce and PrestaShop. And merchants who care most about the Loox gallery look, since Judge.me widgets take some styling to match your theme.

Where it falls short. Videos aren't imported from Loox by default, so you reattach them after the import. Merchants still rate it 5 out of 5 across nearly 50,000 reviews.

How to migrate. Judge.me has a dedicated Loox path. Export your reviews from Loox, then in Judge.me go to Settings, Import reviews, Import from apps, Loox. It takes about five minutes and leaves an import log. Turn on the verify option to keep reviews in the Google Shopping feed. To automate follow-ups and alerts, our page on Judge.me with Make shows the scenarios.

Junip: a free plan with no order meter

No order cap

Why switch to Junip. Junip's free plan takes unlimited orders and includes rich snippets. Where Loox drops you from free at 500 lifetime orders, Junip doesn't count. The interface is clean and the widgets stay light.

Who it's for. Young brands that want to start free on a simple tool and only pay once they want photo request campaigns.

Who it's not for. Stores that want cheap Google Shopping stars: on Junip they come with Growth at $79 a month. Judge.me includes them for $15.

Where it falls short. Media review requests and incentives (a discount for a photo) need Core at $29 a month. Growth at $79 adds Google Shopping, TikTok Shop, Meta and Klaviyo; Premium is $299. The free trial is only 7 days.

How to migrate. Junip documents the Loox export: in the Loox Reviews tab, choose "Export all reviews to .csv file", then upload that file to Junip's importer. Keep the file exactly as Loox gives it to you.

Fera: wide tiers for high-volume stores

High volume

Why switch to Fera. Fera also prices by orders, but its tiers are far wider than Loox's 300-order blocks. Startup is $9 for up to 200 orders, Small $29 for up to 2,000, Medium $99 for up to 20,000, Semi-Large $199 for up to 50,000. Reviews and media are unlimited on every plan, with Q&A and AI features.

The math. At 1,500 orders, Loox Convert costs $249.99. Fera Small costs $29.

Who it's for. Stores doing hundreds or thousands of orders a month that want to know their bill in advance.

Who it's not for. Tiny stores that want to spend nothing: Fera has no free plan, only a 30-day trial.

Where it falls short. Go past your plan's order cap and Fera asks you to move up a plan. One merchant says their widgets were hidden once a limit was hit; Fera admitted its warnings weren't clear enough and refunded them. Watch that counter from month one.

How to migrate. Fera imports from AliExpress, Google and Etsy and accepts CSV files. Export your Loox reviews to CSV, and confirm the expected format with Fera's support before the trial ends.

Okendo: the full suite for a scaling brand

Scaling brands

Why switch to Okendo. Okendo targets Shopify brands that want more than reviews: Q&A, AI and TikTok Shop on Growth, campaigns and email and SMS integrations on Power. If you're leaving Loox for missing features, not just price, this is the richest destination.

Who it's for. Brands with real volume and a marketing team, building retention around reviews.

Who it's not for. Stores leaving Loox to pay less: Okendo also prices by orders, with wider but pricier tiers.

Where it falls short. The free plan stops at 50 orders a month. Essential is $19 a month for up to 200 orders ($204 a year), Growth $119 for up to 1,500, Power $299 for up to 3,500. At 900 orders you pay $119 versus $149.99 on Loox: a saving, but a small one.

How to migrate. Install Okendo during its 14-day trial, import your Loox export, compare a few product pages side by side, and only then uninstall Loox. Ask Okendo's support for the import format before your first payment.

Ali Reviews: built for dropshipping

Dropshipping

Why switch to Ali Reviews. If you sell products sourced from AliExpress, this is your app: AliExpress imports are unlimited on the free plan. Basic, at $14.95 a month, adds imports from Amazon, eBay, Temu and Etsy plus rich snippets. It also accepts a CSV exported from Loox.

Who it's for. Dropshipping stores that want product pages full of existing reviews from launch day.

Who it's not for. Brands that rely on Google Shopping stars: the app listing doesn't mention them. And brands selling only their own products, for whom marketplace imports are useless.

Where it falls short. The free plan publishes only 10 reviews per product. Basic raises that to 150, Growth ($24.95) to 1,500, and Advanced ($49.95) removes the cap. Annual billing saves 25%.

How to migrate. Export your Loox reviews to CSV and load it through Ali Reviews' CSV importer. Then check that your plan's per-product cap hasn't left some reviews unpublished.

Yotpo: for brands that want the big platform

Large brands

Why switch to Yotpo. Yotpo is the go-to for large ecommerce brands on reviews and loyalty. Its Pro plan, from $119 a month, adds Google seller ratings, the stars that show next to your store name in ads. If your marketing runs on Google Ads, that's a real plus.

Who it's for. Established brands that want a heavyweight vendor and a reviews plus loyalty suite, and have the budget.

Who it's not for. Stores leaving Loox because the bill tracks sales: Yotpo does the same.

Where it falls short. The free plan stops at 50 orders a month, Starter begins at $15, Pro at $119. Our guide to switching from Yotpo covers its pricing and why some merchants leave.

How to migrate. Export your reviews from Loox and import the file into Yotpo during the trial. Check on a few product pages that photos came through before you uninstall Loox.

Stamped: clear tiers, Shopify and WooCommerce

Beyond Shopify

Why switch to Stamped. Stamped also runs on WooCommerce, which Loox and Judge.me no longer do. Its tiers are easy to read: $23 a month for up to 200 orders, $99 for up to 1,000, $199 for up to 5,000 and $399 for up to 20,000.

Who it's for. Stores selling outside Shopify, or planning to, that want to keep one review app.

Who it's not for. Small stores: there's no free plan, and the jump from $23 to $99 at order 201 hurts.

Where it falls short. The price climbs fast each time you cross a tier. Our Stamped review scores it 3.7 out of 5, and our Stamped pricing page breaks down every tier.

How to migrate. Loox can import a Stamped file, a good sign the formats line up, but for the reverse direction ask Stamped's support which format it expects before you pay. Install Stamped before removing Loox, import, check the display, then cut Loox.

Trustpilot: independent brand reviews on top of product reviews

Third party

Why add Trustpilot. Every other app here shows reviews on your own store. Trustpilot hosts them on an independent platform shoppers already know, which helps for brand trust beyond product pages. Its free plan sends 50 review invitations a month.

Who it's for. Brands that sell on several channels and want one public reputation page, alongside a product review app like Judge.me.

Who it's not for. A store that only wants to replace Loox's product photo reviews: Trustpilot isn't built for that, and it isn't cheap.

Where it falls short. Plus starts at $319 a month and Premium at $799, both on a 12-month commitment. Our guide to switching from Trustpilot explains what that contract locks you into.

How to migrate. There's nothing to move: keep your product reviews in your new app and start collecting brand reviews on Trustpilot's free plan before committing to a year.

The 8 alternatives side by side

Our default pick: Judge.me, free to start and $15 a month with Google Shopping. For scale, take a store doing 900 orders a month that wants Google Shopping stars: Loox Convert costs $149.99, Okendo Growth $119, Stamped $99, Junip Growth $79 and Judge.me Awesome $15. Migration plan

Leaving Loox in eight steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: your reviews, your photos and videos, your Google stars, your bill.

01

Export product reviews AND store reviews

Day 1

In Loox, open Manage Reviews, then the "..." menu, and pick "Export all reviews". Product reviews and store reviews come out as two separate exports: do both. Plenty of migrations forget the store reviews, the ones on your homepage.

To move only part of your reviews (one collection, one period), "Export filtered reviews" applies your filters. Save the files outside Loox in a dated folder.

Format
CSV
Files
two: product and store
02

Leave the export file untouched

Trap

Don't open it in a spreadsheet to tidy it up. Saving it can change dates, accents and separators, and the importer then rejects rows. On the Shopify forum, a merchant moving from Loox to Judge.me describes a file that became unreadable, with no fix in the thread. Upload the CSV exactly as Loox produced it.

If you really must change a column, work on a copy and keep the original.

Rule
upload the raw file
03

Import into your new app

5 minutes

On Judge.me, the path is Settings, Import reviews, Import from apps, Loox: about five minutes, with an import log. On Junip, upload the CSV to its importer. Same with Ali Reviews' CSV import. For the others, ask support for the format before you pay.

Keep Loox installed during the import so your product pages stay live and you can compare the two.

Judge.me
Import from apps, Loox
Junip, Ali Reviews

04

Reattach videos by hand

Judge.me

Judge.me doesn't import videos by default. After the import, list the video reviews in your Loox export and attach each video to its review. Start with your best sellers, where a customer video matters most for conversion.

With any other app, check three or four reviews to confirm photos and videos display before moving on.

Priority
best sellers first
05

Verify reviews to keep Google Shopping

Google

Only reviews marked verified go into Judge.me's Google Shopping feed. Pick the verify option at import: Judge.me then pulls the buyer's name from Shopify customer records. A customer record with no name gives a review signed "Customer".

Tip: fill in missing names in Shopify before the import. Ten minutes of work saves you dozens of anonymous reviews.

No name
review signed "Customer"
06

Count the imported reviews

Before you cut

Compare the review count in your Loox export with the count in the new app's import log or summary email. A gap means rejected rows: fix them before you uninstall anything.

Also check three random product pages on mobile: average rating, review count, photos.

Check
export vs import
07

Uninstall Loox and clean up your theme

Cancellation

Cancelling Loox means uninstalling the app, and only the store owner can do it. Usage charges already created stay due: on the Shopify forum, merchants still find a Loox charge after uninstalling. So uninstall early in a billing cycle, right after an invoice.

Code can stay behind in your theme: search for "loox" in theme.liquid and remove leftover calls. Your reviews stay stored at Loox; to have them deleted, ask their support.

Plan for the Google Shopping star gap

Up to 30 days

When your review source changes, Google has to process the new feed. Loox quotes up to 30 days of processing; expect the same with your new app. Your ads may lose their stars in the meantime.

So don't switch right before a big sales period. Do it in a quiet month so the stars are back before your peak.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a Loox migration go wrong

The same mistakes come up on the Shopify forum and in vendors' import guides. None is truly technical. They're oversights, and each one costs you reviews, stars or money.

Forgetting store reviews

Loox exports product and store reviews separately. Export only the first and your homepage loses every testimonial the day you uninstall. Run both exports, import both.

Losing videos without noticing

Video reviews are the most valuable and the first to go missing, since Judge.me doesn't import them by default. Count the videos in your export, then count them in the new app. The numbers must match.

Uninstalling at the wrong time

Usage charges already created stay due after you uninstall. Leave at the end of a busy month and you still pay that month's 300-order blocks. Leave right after an invoice.

Breaking Google stars in peak season

Up to 30 days without Shopping stars is fine in a slow month, not right before your biggest sales weeks. Schedule the switch at least a month ahead of your peak.

Leaving Loox code behind

A leftover Loox snippet in theme.liquid can slow the page or show an empty block. Search the theme files for "loox" after uninstalling.

Comparing prices without counting orders

Loox, Okendo, Yotpo, Fera and Stamped price by orders; Judge.me and Junip don't. Compare on your real volume, not the entry price. Our review management software ranking lines them up, and our Stamped alternatives page adds more options.

FAQ · 8 questions

Loox alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • Is Loox really free?

Not for long. The free plan ends at 500 lifetime orders, not 500 a month. After that you move to Convert at $49.99 a month. For a free plan that lasts, Judge.me and Junip have no such cap.

  • What's the best free alternative to Loox?

Judge.me for most stores: unlimited photo and video reviews with no time limit or order cap. Junip is the other option if you prefer a cleaner interface; its free plan also takes unlimited orders, but photo review requests cost $29 a month.

  • Loox vs Judge.me: which should you pick?

Judge.me if price matters: $15 a month flat with Google Shopping, versus $49.99 and up on Loox. Loox if gallery design is your main selling point and your volume stays modest. Past 300 orders a month, the price gap gets hard to justify.

  • Can I keep my photos and reviews when I leave Loox?

Yes, if you export before uninstalling. Export product and store reviews, then import both into the new app. The one thing to watch is video: Judge.me doesn't import it by default, so you reattach it by hand.

  • How do I cancel Loox?

Uninstall the app from your Shopify admin; there's no other cancel button. Only the store owner can do it. Usage charges already created stay due, so uninstall right after an invoice and check the next one.

  • How much does Loox cost as my store grows?

Convert is $49.99 for 300 orders, then $50 for each extra block of 300, added automatically. At 600 orders a month you pay $99.99; at 1,200, $199.99. Beyond that, Unlimited at $299.99 removes the meter.

  • Will I lose my Google Shopping stars?

Possibly, for a while. Google has to process your new app's feed, which can take up to 30 days. To keep reviews eligible on Judge.me, import them as verified. Switch outside your peak season.

  • What's the best Loox alternative for dropshipping?

Ali Reviews: AliExpress imports are unlimited on the free plan, and Amazon, eBay, Temu and Etsy come with Basic at $14.95 a month. Judge.me also syncs AliExpress on its free plan if you want one tool for everything.
