Rewardful alternatives: which affiliate tool to pick, and how to switch without losing affiliates

Seven destinations, one per reason for leaving, and a seven-step cutover plan.

The short answer: FirstPromoter if you bill through Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree, Tolt if you want to pay affiliates with no payout fee, Dub Partners if you want links on your own domain and a few-click import, Affonso if budget is tight, Partnero if you run several programs and want no revenue cap, Reditus if you need someone to bring you affiliates. Know this before you pick: Rewardful only connects to Stripe and Paddle Classic, and its price follows the revenue your affiliates drive ($49 a month up to $7,500 in attributed revenue). The good news: five of the seven destinations can pull your Rewardful program in with your API key. We compared all seven tools in this guide and checked their public prices in 2026.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored placement is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why teams leave Rewardful, and when you should stay

Rewardful does one thing very well: it sets up fast on a Stripe-billed SaaS, and reviewers keep praising its simplicity and support. People leave because of limits that show up as they grow. Here are five, checked against Rewardful's own pages and user reviews. If none applies to you, stay put: a migration always costs time.

Stripe or Paddle Classic, nothing else

Rewardful connects to Stripe or Paddle Classic. It does not support Paddle Billing, the current version of Paddle, and its help center says you can't run Stripe and Paddle Classic at the same time. Moving to Paddle Billing, Chargebee or Recurly, or selling through two payment providers, means Rewardful can't follow.

A bill that grows with your success

Pricing follows the revenue your affiliates bring in each month: $49 up to $7,500 attributed, $99 up to $15,000, then Enterprise from $149 in tiers. A program that works moves up a tier on its own. That's stated openly, but at $15,000 a month Partnero caps nothing and Tolt covers up to $20,000 for $99.

Custom domain and branded portal start at Growth

Starter gives you one campaign, two team members, and no branded portal or custom domain. Tracking links on a third-party domain get blocked by ad blockers more often. One team that left Rewardful said the custom domain was a must for them, which forced the $99 plan.

Payouts are still a manual job for many

PayPal and Wise bulk payouts are included, but you trigger them. Reviews often mention that monthly chore. Rewardful now offers optional Managed Payouts at a 3% fee on amounts paid out. On $5,000 of monthly commissions, that's $150 extra, more than the Growth subscription itself.

Simple on purpose

Reviewers mention limited settings: no per-product commission rates, no bulk email to affiliates from the app, and no marketplace to find affiliates. For a one-campaign program that's a strength. For a program with several partner types, the friction adds up.

The 7 alternatives

Rewardful alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why move to it, who it fits, its catch, how to switch from Rewardful, and what it costs. Prices are what each vendor shows in 2026, in the currency it displays, before tax.

01

FirstPromoter: the same tool, with wider billing support

Closest to Rewardful

Why move to FirstPromoter. It's the tool closest to Rewardful, at the same entry price ($49 a month, $490 a year), with much wider billing support: Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree, on every plan. If you're changing payment providers, that's the main reason to pick it.

Who it fits. A SaaS billing outside Stripe, or planning to, that wants a classic affiliate program: link, cookie, recurring commission.

Who it doesn't fit. Anyone looking for affiliates. FirstPromoter tracks your partners, it doesn't bring you new ones.

The catch. Starter stops at $5,000 in monthly affiliate revenue, versus $7,500 at Rewardful for the same price, and at 1,000 affiliates. Past that you move to Business at $99 (up to $15,000), so at equal revenue you may hit the next tier sooner. Reviewers also say reporting could go deeper.

How to switch. FirstPromoter's team runs the migration for you and quotes 24 to 48 hours, with no link changes for affiliates. The 14-day trial needs no card: start it a week before your Rewardful renewal date, not earlier.

02

Tolt: pay affiliates with no payout fee

Fee-free payouts

Why move to Tolt. Rewardful charges 3% to manage payouts. Tolt sends money to every eligible affiliate with no fee on its side, via PayPal, Wise or bank transfer, and affiliates only pay their payout method's own fee. The cap is wider too: Growth at $99 a month covers up to $20,000 in partner revenue, with 5 programs.

Who it fits. A SaaS on Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee paying lots of small affiliates every month and done with manual payouts.

Who it doesn't fit. A tiny program: under $7,500 in attributed revenue, Rewardful Starter is half the price.

The catch. No $49 plan, the entry point is $99. One reviewer missed a setting to hold commissions for 45 days after payment. Custom payout methods are Pro only, at $199.

How to switch. Tolt says it moves your program in a day: affiliates, links, clicks, customers, commissions and coupons, and affiliates keep their links and logins. The 14-day trial needs no card. Use it to run both tools across your cookie window.

03

Dub Partners: links on your domain, imported in a few clicks

Easiest import

Why move to Dub. Dub started as a short-link tool. Its Partners product turns it into affiliate software where every link lives on your own domain, which helps with ad blockers. Its Rewardful importer brings over commission rules (type, amount, duration), active affiliates, their referrals and commissions, without breaking existing links.

Who it fits. A Stripe SaaS that wants branded links and precise click stats, for example for a creator program.

Who it doesn't fit. Anyone paying out large commission volumes: fees add up.

The catch. Dub takes 5% of partner payouts on Business ($81 a month) and Advanced ($270), and 3% on Enterprise. Business caps payouts at $30,000 a year. On $2,000 of monthly commissions, that's $100 in fees on top of the plan.

How to switch. Add your custom domain in Dub and install client-side click tracking first: that's what keeps old ?via= links alive. Then paste your Rewardful API secret in the Partners tab. Heads-up: Dub skips affiliates with no referrals and referrals without a valid Stripe customer ID.

Affonso: the cheapest way out

Low budget

Why move to Affonso. It's the lowest entry point in this guide: €15 a month billed yearly (€19 monthly) on Launch. Growth costs €29 a month billed yearly, up to $10,000 in partner revenue, and Elite €79 a month billed yearly, up to $30,000. For a solo founder starting a first program, the gap with Rewardful's $49 matters.

Who it fits. A small SaaS launching its first program that wants to pay as little as possible while affiliate revenue is still modest.

Who it doesn't fit. A large program that wants a long-established vendor and phone support.

The catch. Launch stops at $1,000 in monthly partner revenue, so a program that takes off moves to Growth fast. Caps are in dollars and prices in euros, keep that in mind when comparing.

How to switch. The importer sits under Settings, Migration: paste your Rewardful API secret and Affonso brings over campaigns, rewards, affiliates with their PayPal details, referrals, and commissions with their status. Only confirmed affiliates with at least one referral come across, so export the rest yourself.

Partnero: several programs, no revenue cap

No cap

Why move to Partnero. Partnero doesn't charge for your success: every plan includes unlimited partners, transactions and revenue, with no overage fees. Starter costs $49 a month billed yearly ($59 monthly) for one program, Partner $159 billed yearly for three. You can run an affiliate program and a customer referral program side by side.

Who it fits. A SaaS already past $15,000 a month in affiliate revenue, or one that wants to separate affiliates, resellers and customer advocates.

Who it doesn't fit. A large team that wants everyone in the tool: each extra seat is $29 a month.

The catch. Starter includes a single team member. Enterprise starts at $599 a month.

How to switch. In Partnero, create your program, paste your Rewardful API secret (Company Settings, API Credentials), then pick the campaign to import. You can map several Rewardful campaigns to several programs. The 30-day trial is the longest in this guide, long enough to cover a full cookie window.

Reditus: when you're short on affiliates, not on tooling

Find affiliates

Why move to Reditus. Rewardful tracks the affiliates you find yourself. Reditus adds a marketplace of affiliates focused on B2B software, where your program gets seen. It answers a common complaint: finding good affiliates is harder than tracking them.

Who it fits. A B2B SaaS whose program exists but stalls for lack of active partners.

Who it doesn't fit. Anyone who already has an affiliate audience: you'd pay for a storefront you don't need.

The catch. The marketplace listing only comes with Scale Up, $399 a month on an annual term. Growth ($99 a month billed yearly, $149 monthly, up to $60K ARR) doesn't include it. Managed payouts cost 5% by card or 2% by invoice.

How to switch. Migration is free on every plan. Reditus moves affiliates, links, referrals and pending commissions; affiliates keep their links and just reset their password. Plan 30 to 60 minutes of your time and about a day for the data move.

Tapfiliate: if you also sell through a store

Ecommerce

Why move to Tapfiliate. Rewardful is built for Stripe subscriptions. Tapfiliate also plugs into Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and Magento, with 30+ ready-made integrations, with no setup fee. If your business sells both software and store products, it covers both.

Who it fits. A brand selling through an online store, or a SaaS with a physical offer that wants commissions per channel.

Who it doesn't fit. A pure SaaS affiliate program, where the tools above cost less.

The catch. Launch at $89 a month stops at 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions a month, and bills overages ($15 per 1,000 conversions). Automated payouts only come with Scale, at $179. The 14-day trial rolls into a paid plan automatically.

How to switch. No Rewardful importer: build your affiliate file from your export, recreate your commission rules, then invite affiliates to the new portal.

The 7 options compared

Our default pick: FirstPromoter if you want the same kind of tool with wider billing support, Tolt if payout fees bother you. For a sense of scale, take a program driving $10,000 a month: Rewardful costs $99 a month (Growth), FirstPromoter $99 (Business), Tolt $99 (Growth), Affonso €29 a month billed yearly (Growth), Partnero $49 a month billed yearly. Each row: entry price and its cap on the left, how it takes over your Rewardful program on the right.

Cutover plan

Leaving Rewardful in seven steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: the links your affiliates published, the commissions they're waiting on, and the tie between a Stripe customer and the affiliate who brought them.

01

Note your renewal date and your tier

Week 1

Open billing in Rewardful and note two things: your next charge date, and your attributed revenue over the last three months. The first is your deadline. The second tells you which tier you'll land on at the new tool.

Time the end of the migration just before that charge.

Time
one hour
If skipped
a month paid for nothing
02

Export everything the importers will skip

Critical

Importers take active affiliates, not all of them: Dub and Affonso skip anyone with no referrals. Export your full list of affiliates, referrals and commissions, and keep the files outside any tool.

Rewardful itself doesn't import past invoices and commissions when you move in, and the same logic applies on the way out: each tool starts from its own data. Your export is your only archive.

Format
spreadsheet files
If skipped
forgotten affiliates
03

Pay what's owed before the switch

Approve and pay every due commission in Rewardful. For those still in their waiting period, choose: pay them from the old tool when due, or have the new one take them over (Reditus and Affonso import commissions with their status).

Don't leave a commission without an owner. It's the top affiliate complaint after a migration.

If rushed
unpaid affiliates
04

Check the tie between Stripe customers and affiliates

In Rewardful, each referred customer carries a Stripe customer ID. That's what lets you pay a recurring commission to the right affiliate month after month. Check that your referred customers have one: Dub, for example, skips referrals without a valid ID.

If skipped
lost recurring commissions
06

Run both tools for your cookie window

30 to 60 days

A click made the day before the switch set Rewardful's cookie, not the new tool's. Keep Rewardful running for your cookie window, often 30 days, sometimes 60. Most signups happen within a day of the click, so the overlap empties fast.

Set a cutover date at the start of a month and decide that from then on, each new commission counts in one tool only.

Length
your cookie window
If rushed
commission paid twice
07

Tell affiliates, then shut Rewardful down

Last step

Write to your ten biggest affiliates first: what changes (the portal, the login page) and what doesn't (their rate, their customers). Then tell everyone else. Once the overlap ends, cancel Rewardful and disconnect it from Stripe.

Cutover pitfalls

What makes an affiliate software switch go wrong

The same mistakes show up in every migration. None is really technical. They're oversights, and each one costs you angry affiliates or commissions paid twice.

Canceling before commissions are paid

Commissions still unpaid when the account closes can be voided. Pay everything approved in Rewardful, then export what's still pending, affiliate by affiliate.

Letting old links die

A link in a blog post or a video lives for years. Pick a destination that still tracks ?via= links, or keep a redirect. Otherwise every old link is a lost sale for your affiliate and a support ticket for you.

Trusting the importer with everything

Importers don't take everything: Dub and Affonso skip affiliates with no referrals, and Dub skips referrals without a valid Stripe customer ID. Keep your own full export.

Paying the same commission twice

During the overlap, one customer can show up in both tools. Set a cutover date, ideally at the start of a month, and count each commission in a single tool from that date on.

Forgetting the Stripe connection

Canceling Rewardful doesn't remove its integration or its webhooks (the automatic calls Stripe sends on each payment). Disconnect them after the switch.

FAQ · 7 questions

Rewardful alternatives: common questions

  • Is there a free alternative to Rewardful?

None of the serious tools in this guide is free forever; they all offer a trial. Partnero's is the longest at 30 days. For the lowest budget, Affonso starts at €15 a month billed yearly, up to $1,000 in partner revenue. Our SaaS affiliate software ranking compares them on price and features.

  • Does Rewardful work with Paddle Billing?

No. Rewardful's help center says it only supports Paddle Classic, and that you can't use Stripe and Paddle Classic at the same time. If you're moving to Paddle Billing, pick a tool that names it explicitly and check it during the trial: FirstPromoter, for one, lists Paddle without saying which version.

  • FirstPromoter vs Tolt: which should replace Rewardful?

FirstPromoter if you bill through Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree, or if your affiliate revenue stays under $5,000 a month (Starter at $49). Tolt if you pay out lots of commissions and want to avoid payout fees: it starts at $99, but covers up to $20,000 in partner revenue.

  • Will my affiliates have to change their links?

Not necessarily. FirstPromoter, Tolt and Reditus say existing links keep working, and Dub keeps old ?via= links alive through client-side click tracking. Open three old links before announcing anything.

  • How much does Rewardful cost in 2026?

Starter is $49 a month up to $7,500 in attributed revenue, Growth $99 up to $15,000, Enterprise from $149 in tiers. Annual billing gives you 12 months for the price of 10 ($490, $990 or $1,490). Managed Payouts are optional, at 3% of amounts paid out.

  • How long does a migration from Rewardful take?

The data move takes from a few minutes (Affonso) to 48 hours (FirstPromoter). The real duration is the overlap: keep both tools live for your cookie window, often 30 days. Plan about six weeks from decision to cancellation.

  • Which Rewardful alternative works for a customer referral program?

Partnero runs an affiliate program and a referral program in the same account, with no revenue cap. For referrals built into your app, see our SaaS referral software page.
