Overview

What changes once Claude can work in Astravue

Astravue is a project and task tool. With the connector, Claude can do most of what you would click through yourself: find tasks, read comments and checklists, log time, set up a sprint, reassign work, and open interactive boards right in the conversation. Every request runs with your own Astravue permissions, so Claude sees what you see.

Set up a sprint in one message. Ask for a project in a space, a batch of tasks with owners and priorities, then an assignment, and Claude chains astravue_create_project, astravue_bulk_create_tasks and astravue_update_task.

Start the week with the right list. astravue_list_overdue_tasks and astravue_list_scheduled_tasks tell you what slipped and what is due, and astravue_preview_my_tasks puts your assignments on one interactive board.

Close the loop on time. A consultant logs hours with astravue_log_manual_time and then asks astravue_get_timesheet_report for the week's statement.

What it will not do: act without you asking, or go beyond your role. A Guest account stays read-only, deleting a project is reserved to a Project Admin, and three tag tools on the sheet are not described anywhere. Nothing fires when a deadline passes either; Claude acts only while it answers you. The Integrations hub lists the other apps we cover.

Vocabulary

Five words to know first

The vocabulary around this connector, in one minute.

Connector
The link you set up once between Claude and an account you already have, so Claude can work in it while it answers you.
Tool
One named thing a connector lets Claude do. Claude picks the tools it needs by itself, and the directory lists each by name.
Authorization
Astravue's sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use afterward. Given once per person, and revocable.
Approval
The confirmation Claude waits for before it changes something in your workspace, shown in the conversation when it matters.
MCP
The shared standard connectors are built on: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service such as Astravue.
Connect

Connect Astravue to Claude in three steps

  1. 01

    Find Astravue in Claude

Open Claude's settings, go to Customize then Connectors, and look for Astravue App. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it before members can each sign in.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Astravue

Click Connect on its row, then sign in to Astravue in the window it opens itself. If the link breaks later, use Disconnect and connect again; that usually fixes it.

  3. 03

    Read the authorization screen

Read Astravue's authorization screen before you accept. It belongs to the service, not to Claude, and it sets what the access covers. You can withdraw that access later from the same connector list.

Tools

The 83 tools, split by what they do

Astravue App gives Claude 83 tools: 33 that read your account, 47 that change something in it, and 3 no official source describes.

Three groups: what Claude reads, what it changes, and three tools nobody documents. Astravue's Supported tools page describes every other one. Names stay exactly as Claude shows them.

  • 33 read
  • 47 write
  • 3 not documented

What Claude reads (33)

33 tools

Thirty-three tools that look at spaces, projects, tasks, time, members and notifications, including three interactive views.

astravue_find_tasks

Runs a keyword search across your tasks and returns the ones that match, wherever they sit in the workspace you can see. You can phrase it loosely, such as anything about the dashboard redesign.

When it helps
you remember a task about payments but not which project it lives in.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_active_timers

Shows which timers are running right now, so Claude can tell you who is tracking time on what at this moment.

When it helps
a team lead wants to know who is actively working before calling a quick sync.
Watch out
it only covers timers in progress, not hours already logged.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_current_user

Returns the profile of the person signed in, the account every other request runs under.

When it helps
you share a computer and want to confirm which Astravue account Claude is actually using.
Watch out
whatever this shows sets the limits of everything else Claude can reach.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_custom_fields

Lists the custom fields defined on one project, such as story points or severity.

When it helps
before asking for a report by severity, you check that the project even has that field.
Watch out
fields are per project, so another project may use different ones.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_member_by_email

Looks up one workspace member from an email address and brings back their profile. You give the address, for example sarah@company.com, and Claude gets the matching profile.

When it helps
you want to add a colleague to a project and only know their work email.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_project

Brings back the full details of a single project, status included, so Claude can answer where things stand. Where a list of projects only names them, this tool returns one project's full record.

When it helps
a manager asks for the current status of Sprint 3 before a steering meeting.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_project_time_entries

Collects every time entry recorded across one project, entry by entry.

When it helps
a consultant needs the detail of hours logged on a client sprint before invoicing.
Watch out
for a single total rather than the detail, the time summary tool is shorter.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_project_time_summary

Adds up the total time spent on a project and returns the summary rather than each entry. A separate tool lists every entry when you need the detail.

When it helps
a director wants to know how many hours the backend project has consumed so far.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_space

Watch out
spaces you are not a member of stay out of reach.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_task

Fetches everything recorded on one task, from status to owner, so Claude can answer a precise question about it. Where a project list gives you names, this tool returns the full record of one task.

When it helps

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_task_checklists

Reads the checklists attached to a task and which items are still open.

When it helps

Watch out
it reports the items; ticking one off goes through another tool.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_task_counts

Gives a quick count of tasks: total, pending, completed and overdue. Claude can turn those four numbers into a sentence on how a project is doing.

When it helps
a project lead wants a one-line health check before the weekly stand-up.
Watch out
these are counts, not the tasks themselves.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_task_time_entries

Lists the time entries logged against one task. Each entry shows a slice of time someone recorded on that task.

When it helps
you wonder how long the backend refactor has really taken compared with the estimate.
Watch out
it covers one task; project-wide hours come from another tool.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_get_timesheet_report

Builds a timesheet report for the signed-in user over a period such as this week or the last seven days.

the report is about your own time, not the whole team's.

Watch out

When it helps
you want to know what is holding up the API implementation.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_filters

Retrieves the saved filters of the signed-in user. It answers a request as simple as showing your saved filters.

When it helps

Watch out
these are your own filters, not your colleagues'.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_notifications

Watch out
only unread items come back.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_overdue_tasks

Picks out the overdue tasks assigned to the signed-in user. Claude can rank them by priority or group them by project if you ask.

Watch out
tasks assigned to others are not included.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

Watch out
each project can have its own workflow.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

Watch out
it works space by space.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_scheduled_tasks

Watch out

Watch out
spaces you are not a member of stay hidden.

When it helps

Watch out
it reads one parent at a time.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_tags

Returns the tags defined across your organization. Its scope is the whole organization rather than a single project.

Watch out
this is the list of tags, not the tasks carrying them.

Sourcedocs.astravue.com · October 1, 2026 ↗

astravue_list_task_statuses

Tells Claude which statuses tasks can take in a given project. The question can be as plain as which statuses are available in a project.

Not documented (3)

3 tools

Three names that appear on the directory sheet but in no source that says what they do. Not documented means exactly that: no capability is claimed here.

astravue_bulk_create_tags

Listed by name on the directory sheet, this tool is missing from Astravue's own tool reference, and no other source describes it. Its name hints at a purpose, but a name is not a description.

Watch out
until a source documents it, the general approval rule is the only reference.

astravue_create_tag

Astravue's Supported tools page skips this name, which appears only on the directory sheet; no source describes what it does. Reading a capability into that name would be guesswork.

Watch out
the general rule in the approvals block is all that applies here.

astravue_remove_tag_from_all_tasks

Only its name is published: the directory sheet carries it, while the documentation leaves it out and no source describes it. Nothing official says what it changes or for whom.

Watch out
check Astravue's documentation before relying on it; the general approval rule applies meanwhile.
Approvals

What Claude checks with you first

By default, Claude stops and asks before each action it carries out on an account for someone. Astravue adds its own warning: some tools delete tasks, projects or spaces, so review those actions before you approve them.

On Team and Enterprise workspaces, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without a prompt each time. They can also cap what a connector may do for the whole organization, for example keeping reading open and closing deletions, and nobody gets around that from a personal account. Underneath, Astravue applies its own roles: every tool call runs as you, with your existing permissions, and you cannot reach or change anything through the connector that you could not reach in the app.

Plans

Which plans include it

None of the 819 sheets in the official directory shows plan availability. Connector by connector, Anthropic publishes that answer nowhere.

The general rule is what is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner opens a connector for the organization before members can each connect. Astravue's documentation says something narrower; the contradiction is spelled out in the limits below. Check the Astravue App sheet in the official directory for the live state.

Limits

Where this connector stops

A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you, so nothing runs when a task goes overdue or a timer is left on.

The tool list is an observed floor, not a promise: an administrator can open actions that no public sheet shows. The partner badge in the directory is not a security audit, and Anthropic states on every sheet that it neither picks a publisher's tools nor guarantees they behave as announced. Only Astravue documents this connector; no Claude help page covers it. For a connector with a much shorter tool list, compare with the Claude agility-cms connector page.

Two official sources disagree

Which Claude plans can use the Astravue connector?

  • Claude Help Center, general connector rule ↗2026-09-18Remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile; on Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner enables the connector first.
  • Astravue documentation, Get started ↗2026-10-01For Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, the publisher writes that a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan is required, in its section on adding the server as a custom connector.

What this page followsAnthropic's rule covers every connector; Astravue's sentence is about adding its server by hand, and it is the publisher speaking. Neither is authoritative for your account: check the Astravue App sheet in the directory while signed in.

FAQ

Questions about the Claude Astravue App connector

01What can Claude do with the Claude Astravue App connector?
Claude can run most of your project work from the conversation. It reads spaces, projects, tasks, subtasks, comments, checklists, dependencies, time entries, members and notifications, and opens interactive views of your tasks or of a project. On the writing side, it creates, edits, moves and deletes those same items, logs time and starts or stops timers. Astravue's own reference describes each of these tools, except three tag tools left undocumented.
02Can Claude delete tasks or projects in Astravue?
Yes. The sheet includes tools that delete tasks, subtasks, comments, attachments, custom fields, statuses, filters, time entries, projects and spaces. Astravue says deleting a project removes all its tasks and deleting a space removes everything inside, permanently. Your role still applies: a task can only be deleted by its owner, its creator or a Project Admin, and a Guest cannot write at all through the connector. Read each confirmation before accepting a deletion.
03Does Claude ask before it changes something?
By default, Claude asks for confirmation before each action it takes on an account for someone. No source describes a specific prompt tool by tool, so that general rule is what covers the 47 writing tools. Astravue adds that most assistants ask before destructive operations and tells you to review them before approving. In an organization workspace, owners decide whether members may let some actions through without a prompt. Members cannot override that choice.
04Which Claude plans is the Astravue connector available on?
No official source from Anthropic publishes plan availability connector by connector, and none of the 819 directory sheets shows it. The general rule is that remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile, with an Owner or Primary Owner enabling them first on Team and Enterprise. Astravue's setup guide names a narrower set of Claude plans. Check the Astravue App sheet in the directory for your own account.
05Does Claude see every project in our workspace?
No, only what your own account can see. Astravue runs every tool call as you, with your existing permissions, and states that nothing is reachable through the connector if you cannot reach it in the app. A Guest reads without writing, and a call your role does not allow comes back as a 403 Access Denied error; Astravue then sends you to your workspace admin. Two people asking the same question can get different answers.
06Is there a limit on how much Claude can do at once?
Yes, Astravue sets two. Each user is capped at 100 requests per minute; beyond that, the server returns a 429 error and asks you to wait 60 seconds before trying again. Bulk task creation also stops at 100 tasks per call. For a very large backlog, ask Claude to create the tasks in batches. These figures come from Astravue's Supported tools page, not from a test of ours, and the request cap counts per user.
07Claude or an automation tool for Astravue?
They do different jobs, so this is not a ranking. Claude with this connector is for work you direct in a conversation: plan a sprint, triage overdue tasks, log time, clean up duplicates. An automation tool runs a scenario by itself when something happens. No Astravue tool starts on its own when a deadline passes or a status changes, so a recurring routine belongs to an automation platform. Both can sit side by side in the same team.
