Claude Indeed connectorWhat Claude can do in your Indeed account.
The Claude Indeed connector exposes 2 tools, both of them read tools. 0 write, 0 undocumented: Claude searches Indeed's job database and opens a listing's details, nothing more. Below: what it finds, what it leaves alone, and who decides.

What the Claude Indeed connector changes in a job hunt
Instead of juggling a dozen browser tabs full of job ads, you describe the role to Claude. It queries Indeed's database on its own, brings back the listings that fit, then opens the one you pick to pull out duties and requirements, with a direct link to the posting.
A first shortlist in one message. You want product designer roles in Austin: search_jobs returns the matching listings and Claude lays them out side by side, each with its link.
Check a posting against your résumé. One listing stands out: get_job_details fetches the full description and requirements, and Claude helps you spot the gaps before you apply.
Research a field or an employer. The publisher pitches the connector for career exploration and employment research: ask Claude to read several listings in the same industry and tell you which skills keep coming up.
What Claude does not do with this connector: by default the directory sheet lists no tool to apply, save a job or post one. And nothing runs on its own: no alert fires when a new listing appears, Claude only searches when you ask. For a watch that runs in the background you need an automation tool, which is a different job; the Integrations hub covers that side.
The vocabulary in one minute
Five words you will meet while connecting Indeed.
- Connector
- The link you set up once between Claude and a service, so Claude can work with it while it answers you.
- Tool
- One named capability the connector opens to Claude. Claude picks the ones it needs, and the directory sheet lists them all.
- Authorization
- The service's own sign-in screen, where you hand Claude the access it will use from then on. Granted once, and taken back the same way.
- Directory
- Claude's official catalogue: every connector gets a sheet with its publisher, its purpose and the full list of its tools.
- MCP
- The shared standard behind connectors: it is what lets an assistant like Claude talk to an outside service.
Connect Indeed to Claude in three steps
- 01
Find Indeed in your settings
Open Claude's settings, go to Customize then Connectors, and locate Indeed in the list. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an Owner or Primary Owner has to enable it before you can sign in.
- 02
Start the connection
Hit Connect on its row, then sign in through the window that Indeed opens on its own side. If the link ever breaks, use Disconnect and connect it again.
- 03
Review the authorization screen
Read the authorization screen before you accept: it belongs to the service, and it sets what the access covers. You can also revoke that access later from your Indeed account.
The 2 tools in the Indeed connector
Indeed gives Claude 2 tools: 2 that read your account, 0 that change something in it.
Both tools read; neither changes anything. Their names stay exactly as Claude shows them.
- 2 read
What Claude reads (2)
2 toolsTwo tools that look through Indeed's job listings without touching anything.
search_jobs
Runs your request against Indeed's job database and returns the listings that match, each with its direct link. Claude picks it on its own whenever your request calls for a search.
get_job_details
Opens one specific listing and pulls out its full description and requirements, plus the link to the posting. Claude can then summarize it or hold it up against your experience.
What Claude asks before it acts
By default, Claude stops and asks for your go-ahead before each action it takes on an account for you. Both Indeed tools only read, but the rule is unchanged.
On a Team or Enterprise workspace, owners decide whether a member may let some actions through without being asked every time. They can also cap what a connector may do across the organization, keeping reads open and shutting writes for instance, and that setting binds everyone. Finally, Claude works with your access and nothing beyond it: what you cannot reach on Indeed stays out of its reach too.
Which plans it is available on
None of the 819 sheets in the directory shows availability by plan. Connector by connector, that information is not published anywhere: a genuine gap in the catalogue.
The general rule is published: remote connectors are open to all users on Claude, Cowork, Claude Desktop and mobile. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner turns the connector on for the organization before members can connect. For the current state, check the Indeed sheet in the directory.
Where this connector stops
A connector is not an automation. Claude calls these tools while it answers you: nothing kicks off when a new job is posted.
By default the sheet exposes only reads, but that is an observed floor, not a ceiling: an admin can open actions that appear on no public sheet. The partner badge is not a security audit either, and Anthropic says so on every sheet: it does not choose the tools a publisher exposes and does not vouch for their behavior. This connector is documented by its sheet alone; to compare with another connector's page, see the Claude activecampaign connector.
