What you can automate

What does the Agencyjoy Make integration let you automate?

The Agencyjoy Make integration links your Agencyjoy account to Make so that leads and customers move without copy and paste. In Make, you build a scenario, the automation itself, out of modules: each module is one brick, such as a trigger that spots a new lead or an action that creates a customer.

Three setups cover most needs. First, a clean intake: a form or a spreadsheet in another app feeds Create a Lead, so every prospect lands in Agencyjoy without retyping. Second, a hand-off when a deal is won: Watch Lead Status spots the change and Create Customer from Lead turns that prospect into a customer record. Third, a shared view for the whole agency: Watch Updated Customers passes each edit to the tools your account managers already read.

Know the limits before you build. Make's own documentation for Agencyjoy is flagged as limited, because little public information exists about the app. The module names are listed, but no field list, no setup notes and no troubleshooting come with them. Plan to test each module with Run once and read what comes back.

When a module is missing, Make an API Call reaches any endpoint of the Agencyjoy API with the same connection. If you are still choosing a platform, the n8n vs Make comparison lays out the criteria, and the Make pricing page explains how operations are counted. Teams that prefer to learn step by step can start with the Make training.

Connect

How do you connect Agencyjoy to Make?

  1. 01

    Add an Agencyjoy module

Open a scenario, click the +, search for Agencyjoy and pick any of its modules. Then click Create a connection. A connection is your Agencyjoy account linked to Make once, and every Agencyjoy module reuses it.

  2. 02

    Name it and authorize Make

Give the connection a name you will recognize later, for example the agency or workspace it belongs to. Next, either approve access on the Agencyjoy page that opens, or paste the key Agencyjoy gives you, depending on what the window asks for.

  3. 03

    Save and check the fields

Click Save. Back in the module, Make can now read your account, so the fields fill with the choices it finds there. If they stay empty, the connection did not go through and needs to be created again.

First scenario

Your first scenario: send every new prospect into Agencyjoy

GoalWhen a prospect fills in a form in another app, Make creates the lead in Agencyjoy.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

From the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the +. Pick the app where prospects arrive today, such as your form tool, and choose its trigger. That module opens the flow.

  2. 02

    Add Create a Lead

Click the + on the right of the first module, search for Agencyjoy and choose Create a Lead. Select your connection, or click Create a connection if this is your first Agencyjoy module.

  3. 03

    Map the prospect's details

Fill the fields of Create a Lead by clicking into each one and picking the matching value from the first module: the name, the email, whatever your form collects. Make shows every item it received, so there is nothing to type by hand.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Submit a test entry in your form, then click Run once. Make runs the scenario one time and shows the bundles, the items each module received. Open Agencyjoy and check that the test lead is there.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch it on

Click the clock on the first module to set the schedule: a new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default. Then switch the scenario on. From now on, each new prospect becomes a lead without anyone retyping it.

Triggers

Which Agencyjoy triggers can start a scenario?

5 modules start a scenario when something happens in Agencyjoy. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Agencyjoy as soon as it happens.

Agencyjoy1Watch Customers

Watch Customers

triggerIn the docs only

Your scenario starts each time a new customer shows up in Agencyjoy, so onboarding tasks, welcome messages or a folder in another tool can follow on their own. Each customer arrives as one bundle, one item passed to the next module.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks Agencyjoy on the scenario's schedule, every 15 minutes by default and never more often on the Free plan. Make gives no type for it: scheduled is deduced from its name.
When to use it
a new account has just been signed and the delivery team should hear about it without someone forwarding the news.
Watch out
Make lists this module with no official description, so run it once and read the bundle before mapping anything.
Agencyjoy2Watch Lead Status

Watch Lead Status

triggerIn the docs only

This trigger is the one to pick when the stage of a prospect matters more than its arrival. It lets a scenario react to the status of your Agencyjoy leads, which is the natural hook for hand-offs between sales and delivery.

How it fires
scheduled. Make queries Agencyjoy on the scenario's schedule, so a change shows up at the next run rather than the moment it happens.
When to use it
a prospect moves forward in your pipeline and should become a customer or reach a colleague.
Watch out
the documentation does not say which statuses it returns. Test it with Run once first.
Agencyjoy3Watch Leads

Watch Leads

triggerIn the docs only

Every lead added to Agencyjoy can start your scenario, which means a fresh prospect reaches your inbox, your chat or your spreadsheet without anyone checking the CRM. It is the simplest entry point for a first build.

How it fires
scheduled. Make looks in Agencyjoy at each run of the scenario and picks up the leads it has not seen yet.
When to use it
your team wants to call back new prospects quickly and needs an alert outside Agencyjoy.
Watch out
avoid pairing it with Create a Lead in the same scenario, or each lead the scenario creates may start it again at the next run.
Agencyjoy4Watch Updated Customers

Watch Updated Customers

triggerIn the docs only

Edits made to existing customer records become a starting point here. When someone corrects an address or a contact name in Agencyjoy, the change can travel to your invoicing tool or shared sheet instead of drifting out of sync.

How it fires
scheduled. Make polls Agencyjoy on the scenario's schedule and passes along the customers that changed since the last check.
When to use it
Agencyjoy is your reference for client details and other tools should copy it.
Watch out
a scenario that ends on Update a Customer will set this trigger off again. Keep those two apart.
Agencyjoy5Watch Updated Leads

Watch Updated Leads

triggerIn the docs only

Changes to leads that already exist feed this trigger, so a note, a new phone number or a reassignment can reach the people who need it. It differs from Watch Leads, which only reacts to brand new prospects.

How it fires
scheduled. Make checks Agencyjoy on the scenario's schedule, which sets how soon an edit is picked up.
When to use it
you mirror your pipeline in a reporting sheet and each edit should appear there too.
Watch out
pairing it with Update a Lead in the same scenario creates a loop, since each update counts as a new change.
Modules

What can Make do in Agencyjoy?

Agencyjoy gives you 8 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Agencyjoy1

Create Customer from Lead

ActionIn the docs only

A won prospect becomes a customer in one step, without you rebuilding the record from scratch. It is the module that closes the gap between your sales pipeline and your client list.

When to use it
right after Watch Lead Status or Find a Lead, once you know which lead has signed.
Watch out
it needs the lead to already exist in Agencyjoy, so pass it the lead found or watched earlier in the scenario.
Agencyjoy2

Create a Customer

ActionIn the docs only

Adds a brand new customer to Agencyjoy from data that lives elsewhere, a signed quote, a payment or a booking. Pick it over Create Customer from Lead when the client never went through your lead pipeline.

When to use it
a contract signed in another tool should open the client record in Agencyjoy.
Watch out
run Find a Customer first if the same client might already exist, or you will end up with duplicates.
Agencyjoy3

Create a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Puts a new prospect into your Agencyjoy pipeline, fed by a form, an ad platform or a spreadsheet. The lead then follows your usual sales process inside Agencyjoy.

When to use it
prospects reach you through a channel that Agencyjoy does not collect on its own.
Watch out
the documentation gives no field list, so open the module after connecting to see what Agencyjoy expects before you map anything.
Agencyjoy4

Find a Customer

SearchIn the docs only

Looks up customers already stored in Agencyjoy so the next modules can work on the right record. As a search, it can return nothing, one customer or several, each as its own bundle.

When to use it
before an update or a creation, to check whether the client is already there.
Watch out
when several customers match, every following module runs once per result, and each run uses operations on your plan.
Agencyjoy5

Find a Lead

SearchIn the docs only

Retrieves existing leads from Agencyjoy, handy when an event in another app concerns a prospect you already track. The result can be empty, a single lead or a batch of them.

When to use it
an email or a call logged elsewhere needs to be matched to the right lead before an update.
Watch out
an empty result stops the modules that depend on it, so test with a prospect you know exists.
Agencyjoy6

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Reaches any endpoint of the Agencyjoy API through the connection you already set up. It covers whatever the twelve other modules leave out, without a second login.

When to use it
you need an Agencyjoy action that has no dedicated module in Make.
Watch out
you have to know the endpoint and its format yourself, and Make's limited documentation for this app does not give them.
Agencyjoy7

Update a Customer

ActionIn the docs only

Changes an existing customer record in Agencyjoy so your client list stays accurate when details move in another tool. Only the record you point to is touched.

When to use it
a billing contact or an address changes in your accounting app and Agencyjoy should follow.
Watch out
it acts on one customer, so feed it the result of Find a Customer or of a trigger, never a guess.
Agencyjoy8

Update a Lead

ActionIn the docs only

Edits a lead that already sits in your pipeline, for instance to record the outcome of a call or a reply from a campaign. The prospect keeps its history and gains the new information.

When to use it
activity recorded in another tool should show up on the matching Agencyjoy lead.
Watch out
placed after Watch Updated Leads, it restarts its own scenario at the next run.

FAQ

Agencyjoy and Make: common questions

01Is the Agencyjoy Make integration free?
Yes, Agencyjoy is a standard app in Make, so its modules work on the Free plan. That plan comes with limits: 2 active scenarios, at least 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution per run, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) bring the interval down to 1 minute and remove the cap on active scenarios. Usage is counted in operations, one per module per bundle. Any Agencyjoy subscription is separate and not covered here.
02What does it take to connect Agencyjoy to Make?
An Agencyjoy account and a Make account are the starting point. The documentation lists no other prerequisite and no app-specific steps, so the generic flow applies: add an Agencyjoy module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, approve access on the Agencyjoy page or paste the key the app provides, then save. Once saved, the connection is reused by all 13 Agencyjoy modules. If the authorization window asks for something unexpected, Agencyjoy itself is the place to ask.
03Do Agencyjoy triggers in Make react in real time?
No, the 5 Agencyjoy triggers are scheduled, not instant. Make checks Agencyjoy each time the scenario runs, every 15 minutes by default, so a new lead or an edited customer appears at the next check. On the Free plan, 15 minutes is also the shortest interval; paid plans go down to 1 minute. Note that Make's directory did not describe these modules, and their scheduled type comes from their names. Check the clock badge on the module in the editor to be sure.
04What if an Agencyjoy module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It sends a request to any endpoint of the Agencyjoy API with the connection you already have, so no extra login is needed. It does require knowing the endpoint and what it expects, and Make's documentation for Agencyjoy is flagged as limited because little public information exists about the app. Ask Agencyjoy which calls its API accepts before building, and test each call with Run once so you can read the response before switching the scenario on.
05Is Make or n8n the better fit for Agencyjoy?
It depends on what you compare, and this page only covers the Make side. In Make, Agencyjoy offers 13 ready modules, runs on the Free plan as a standard app, and fills gaps with Make an API Call. Whether n8n has a dedicated Agencyjoy node is not documented here, so check that first. Then weigh the criteria that matter to your team: the modules you need, how you want to be billed and how your colleagues prefer to build. The comparison page on this site sets both tools side by side.
