What you can automate

What does the telli Make integration do?

The telli Make integration links your telli account to Make, a tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each module being one brick that acts on one app. telli brings 15 modules, all of them actions, and their names cover three areas: contacts, calls you schedule, and the auto dialer.

Every new lead gets a call planned. A form or a CRM in another app starts the scenario, Add a Contact creates the person in telli, and Schedule a Call books the call right after. When leads arrive as a list, Add multiple Contacts and Schedule multiple Calls do the same job in bulk.

Two tools, one version of each contact. A sales rep edits a record in your CRM; Get a Contact by External ID finds its twin in telli, then Update a Contact or Delete a Contact brings telli in line.

Closed deals stop ringing. Once a prospect signs, Remove from Auto Dialer takes that person off the auto dialer, going by the module's name, so nobody calls a customer to sell them what they just bought.

What you will not find here: a trigger. None of the 15 modules can start a scenario on its own, and Make marks the telli documentation as limited, with no field described for any module. Test each one with Run once before you rely on it. Many apps also have an n8n node; the n8n vs Make comparison lays out how the two tools differ, and Make training walks you through the editor from the start.

Connect

How do you connect telli to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a telli module

Inside a scenario, click the + and type telli in the search box. Pick any module, Add a Contact for instance, then click Create a connection. The connection is your telli account linked to Make once; every telli module reuses it afterwards.

  2. 02

    Give it a name

Make offers a name field for the connection. You can skip it, yet a clear label, such as the team that owns the telli account, saves confusion when several people build scenarios in the same Make account.

  3. 03

    Authorize, then save

Make either opens a telli page where you approve access, or asks you to paste a key that telli gives you. The documentation does not say which of the two telli uses, so follow the window that appears, then click Save.

First scenario

Your first telli scenario in Make

GoalWhen a new lead arrives in another app, Make adds it to telli and schedules a call.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

Open the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to place the first module. telli has no trigger, so start with the app where your leads land, such as a form or a CRM.

  2. 02

    Add Add a Contact

Click the + on the right of that first module, search for telli and choose Add a Contact. Create the connection if this is your first telli module, then map the lead data coming from the previous module.

  3. 03

    Chain Schedule a Call

Use the + again and pick Schedule a Call. Map what Add a Contact returned, so the call is attached to the person you just created and not to an empty record.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once and send one test lead through the first app. Open each module to read the bundle it received: a bundle is one item moving from module to module, here one lead.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch it on

Set the schedule on the first module; a new scenario runs every 15 minutes by default. Then switch the scenario on. Each module run on one bundle counts as one operation on your Make plan.

Modules

What can each telli module do?

telli gives you 15 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

telli1

Add a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Get a new person into telli straight from another app. The module creates one contact for each bundle it receives, so leads no longer have to be copied over by hand from a form or a spreadsheet.

When to use it
a form, a shop or a CRM hands you leads one at a time.
Watch out
the documentation lists no fields, so open the module once the connection exists and see what Make offers you to fill.
telli2

Add multiple Contacts

ActionIn the docs only

Load a whole batch of people into telli in a single module run instead of one run per contact. Your scenario stays short when the source already delivers a list rather than single records.

When to use it
you import a list from an export or a sheet, not one lead at a time.
Watch out
nothing says how many contacts one run accepts; start with a small list and read what Run once returns.
telli3

Call Ended Webhook

ActionIn the docs only

See what happens after a telli call finishes, at least as far as the name suggests. The module list gives it as an action, not a trigger, and the documentation says nothing about what it sends back.

When to use it
you want to explore call results in a test scenario before building on them.
Watch out
do not count on it to start a scenario; run it with Run once and read the bundle first.
telli4

Contact Status Changed Webhook

ActionIn the docs only

Keep an eye on status changes of your telli contacts, going by the module's label. Like Call Ended Webhook, it is listed as an action, and the documentation says nothing about which statuses exist.

When to use it
another tool needs to hear when a contact moves forward, and you are ready to test first.
Watch out
treat its output as unverified until Run once shows you the real data coming out of telli.
telli5

Delete a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Erase one person from telli so they no longer appear anywhere in your call work. Handy when someone asks to be removed, or when a record was created by mistake during a test run.

When to use it
a record disappears from your CRM and telli has to follow.
Watch out
nothing documented says a deletion can be reversed; place Get a Contact before it to confirm you hold the right person.
telli6

Get a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Read one telli contact and pass its details to the modules that follow. A later step can then write an email, fill a sheet or update a CRM with what telli already knows.

When to use it
an earlier module already points to the contact and you need its current state.
Watch out
it brings back a single contact, not a list; for a group, Get multiple Contacts fits better.
telli7

Get a Contact by External ID

ActionIn the docs only

Find the telli contact that matches a record living in another tool. The name suggests a lookup by that other tool's own reference, which is how two systems stay paired without names getting mixed up.

When to use it
a CRM row changes and you need its telli twin before touching it.
Watch out
it can only find contacts that carry such an ID, so check in your first test that yours do.
telli8

Get multiple Contacts

ActionIn the docs only

Pull several telli contacts in one go. The name suggests several bundles come out of it; if so, every module placed after it runs once per contact, and each of those runs is an operation.

When to use it
you want to review, export or sync a group rather than one person.
Watch out
a long result multiplies operations on your plan; count the bundles in Run once before you switch the scenario on.
telli9

Make an API Call

ActionIn the docs only

Reach any part of the telli API that the listed modules leave out, using the same connection and no second login. It is the escape hatch when a feature you need has no module of its own.

When to use it
none of the modules on this page does the exact thing you need in telli.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so you need telli's API reference; Make does not document it for this app.
telli10

Remove from Auto Dialer

ActionIn the docs only

Take one person off the telli auto dialer, judging by the module's name. Deleting the contact is a separate module, so this one is the gentler choice when you only want the calls to stop.

When to use it
a lead books a meeting or signs elsewhere and should not be called again.
Watch out
the documentation does not say whether the person can be put back; check in telli before running it on real contacts.
telli11

Remove multiple Contacts from Auto Dialer

ActionIn the docs only

Pull a whole group off the auto dialer in a single run: the batch version of Remove from Auto Dialer. One module does the work that would otherwise take one run per person.

When to use it
a campaign ends, or a list turns out to be wrong, and many people must stop being called at once.
Watch out
a bad batch hits everyone in it, so try it on a test group with Run once first.
telli12

Schedule a Call

ActionIn the docs only

Book a telli call for one contact at the moment your scenario decides, instead of setting it up in telli by hand. The call planning moves out of someone's to do list.

When to use it
right after Add a Contact, so every fresh lead leaves the scenario with a call on the way.
Watch out
no date format is documented; map a date from the previous module and read in Run once how telli stored it.
telli13

Schedule multiple Calls

ActionIn the docs only

Plan calls for a batch of contacts in one module run. It pairs well with Add multiple Contacts when a whole list arrives together and each person on it needs a call.

When to use it
an event registration list or an import lands and nobody should be forgotten.
Watch out
a mapping mistake repeats across the whole batch, so test with two or three contacts before the real list.
telli14

Update a Contact

ActionIn the docs only

Bring one telli contact up to date with what just changed in another tool. Your callers then work from the same details as the rest of the company, not an old copy.

When to use it
a record is edited in your CRM and telli would otherwise keep the previous version.
Watch out
the module has to know which contact to change; Get a Contact by External ID placed before it is one way to find it.
telli15

Update multiple Contacts

ActionIn the docs only

Apply changes to many telli contacts in one run rather than one run per person. Useful when a bulk edit elsewhere has to reach telli without a long chain of single updates.

When to use it
a territory is reassigned or a list relabelled in your CRM, and telli has to catch up.
Watch out
the documentation does not say which details accept bulk changes; try a small set and compare with Update a Contact.

FAQ

Questions about telli and Make

01Is the telli Make integration free?
Yes, telli is a standard app in Make, so it works from the Free plan. That plan has limits: 2 active scenarios, at least 15 minutes between two scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) lower the interval to 1 minute, remove the cap on active scenarios and count usage in credits, meaning operations, each month. This page gives no price for telli itself.
02What do you need to connect telli to Make?
A telli account and a Make account. The documentation lists no other prerequisite and no telli specific steps, so the generic flow applies: add a telli module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then either approve Make on a telli page or paste the key telli provides, and click Save. The same connection then serves all 15 telli modules. If Make asks for a key you do not have, ask the person who manages your telli account.
03Can a telli scenario in Make start in real time?
Not from telli itself. The app has no trigger in Make, so none of its modules can start a scenario. You have two ways around it. Start the scenario with a trigger from another app, such as a form or a CRM, and add telli modules after it. Or rely on the schedule of the first module, every 15 minutes by default on a new scenario. The two modules named Webhook are listed as actions, not triggers.
04What if a telli module is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. With this module, any endpoint of the telli API can be reached from your scenario, reusing the connection you already created, so you are not stuck with the 15 listed modules. The catch: you write the request yourself and need telli's own API reference, because Make marks the telli documentation as limited and describes no fields. Test each call with Run once before switching the scenario on.
05Should you use Make or n8n with telli?
It depends on what you need, and this page can only speak to the Make side. On Make, telli offers 15 action modules, including Make an API Call, and no trigger. Many apps also have an n8n node, but this page does not confirm one for telli, so check the n8n side before deciding. No ranking between the two tools is given here. The n8n vs Make comparison linked above explains how each one works, which is a sounder basis for choosing.
