What you can automate

What can the Toky Make integration do for your team?

The Toky Make integration links your Toky phone account to Make, a no-code tool where you build a scenario: an automation made of modules, each one a single brick such as a trigger, an action or a search. Toky can alert Make the moment a call, text or voicemail comes in, and Make can write contacts or send texts back.

Never lose a voicemail in someone's inbox. Watch New Voicemails fires as soon as a caller leaves a message, and Get a Voicemail hands you the recording link so the next module can pass it to whoever handles the callback.

Turn fresh leads into Toky contacts that get a text. When a lead arrives in another app, Create a Contact adds the person to your Toky phone directory and Create a Text Message sends a first note, without anyone copying numbers by hand.

Keep your team's call history visible elsewhere. Watch New Calls and Watch New Text Messages push each new conversation into Make, where you can log it in a spreadsheet or a CRM such as the one in the Agile CRM Make integration.

Where the listed modules stop, Make an API Call reaches the rest of the Toky API with the same connection. The Make documentation for Toky lists no extra limits, and notes that it was drafted with AI help, so check key details with Toky. The same app often exists in n8n too; the n8n vs Make page lays out how the two tools differ. To learn the editor properly, see our Make training.

Connect

How do you connect your Toky account to Make?

  1. 01

Grab your API key in Toky

You need an active Toky account and an API key. In Toky, open the settings panel, click the API section or the API keys tab, and copy the key shown on screen. Keep it handy for the next step.

  2. 02

Add a Toky module and start the connection

In your Make scenario, add any Toky module and click Create a connection. A connection is your Toky account linked to Make once, then reused by every Toky module. You can type a label in Connection name, which is optional.

  3. 03

    Paste the key and save

Paste the API key you copied from Toky, or follow the instructions Make shows on screen, then confirm. Once saved, the connection appears in the dropdown of every Toky module you add later.

First scenario

Build your first scenario with Toky

GoalWhen a new lead lands in another app, Make adds the person to Toky and sends a welcome text.

  1. 01

    Create the scenario

On the Scenarios page, create a new scenario and click the + to add the first module. Pick the app where your leads arrive, such as a form or CRM, and its trigger.

  2. 02

    Add Create a Contact

Click the + on the right of that first module, search Toky and choose Create a Contact. Select your Toky connection, then map the lead's name and phone number from the previous module.

  3. 03

    Chain Create a Text Message

Add one more module with the +: Toky, Create a Text Message. Map the phone number again and write the welcome text, mixing plain words with data from the lead.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once and send a test lead. Each module shows the bundles it received, a bundle being one item passed along, here one lead. Check the contact in Toky and the text on your test phone.

  5. 05

    Schedule and switch it on

On the first module, open Scheduling; a new scenario checks every 15 minutes by default. Keep it or adjust it, then switch the scenario on so each new lead follows the same path.

Triggers

Which Toky triggers can start a scenario?

4 modules start a scenario when something happens in Toky. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by Toky as soon as it happens.

Toky1Watch Call Events

Watch Call Events

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when the event you selected happpens in Toky,

Pick the call event you care about and this trigger starts your scenario the moment it happens in Toky. It is the flexible one of the four, since you choose what counts instead of taking a fixed event.

How it fires
instant: Toky calls Make through a webhook as soon as the event happens, shown by the lightning badge on the module.
When to use it
the call moment you need to react to is not simply a new call, a new text or a new voicemail.
Watch out
you pick the event inside the module when you set it up, so open that setting before planning your flow around one specific moment.
Toky2Watch New Calls

Watch New Calls

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when there is a new call in Toky.

Each new call in Toky reaches Make as one bundle, ready to log, share or route to another tool without anyone typing a call summary. It gives you a steady record of phone activity in the apps your team already reads.

How it fires
instant: Toky sends the call to Make through a webhook as soon as it exists, no waiting for a polling cycle.
When to use it
a manager wants every call to appear as a row in a shared sheet or as an activity in the CRM.
Watch out
when setting it up, click Create a webhook before the connection, or the trigger never receives anything.
Toky3Watch New Text Messages

Watch New Text Messages

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when there is a new incoming text message in Toky.

Incoming texts land in Make as soon as they reach Toky, so a reply from a customer can alert the right person or update a record right away. Only incoming messages start it, not the ones your team sends.

How it fires
instant: Toky alerts Make through a webhook as soon as the text arrives, marked by the lightning badge.
When to use it
customers answer your texts and those answers must reach sales or support in the tool they watch all day.
Watch out
to review older messages, including sent ones, use List Text Messages instead, since this trigger only sees what arrives after it is on.
Toky4Watch New Voicemails

Watch New Voicemails

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when there is a new voicemail in Toky.

A caller leaves a message, and your scenario starts right away with that voicemail as its bundle. No more messages sitting unheard because nobody checked the Toky inbox.

How it fires
instant: Toky notifies Make through a webhook as soon as the voicemail is saved.
When to use it
missed calls after hours or during busy periods need a named owner for the callback.
Watch out
to pass the recording itself, chain Get a Voicemail after this trigger, which returns the recording link from the voicemail ID.
Modules

What else can Make do in Toky?

Toky gives you 10 modules. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Toky1

Create a Contact

Action

In MakeCreates a new contact in the phone directory.

Adds a new person to your Toky phone directory, so the number is tied to a name and a record your whole team can find. No more guessing whose number it is.

When to use it
a lead signs up in a form or a CRM and should exist in Toky before anyone dials.
Watch out
it always creates a new entry, so search with List Contacts first if the person might already be there.
Toky2

Create a Text Message

Action

In MakeSends a text message.

Sends a text from Toky with words you write and data you map from earlier modules, like a first name or a booking time. It is the fastest way to reach someone on their phone without a person typing the message.

When to use it
a confirmation, a reminder or a first hello should go out as soon as something happens elsewhere.
Watch out
each run sends a real text, so test with Run once on your own phone number first.
Toky3

Get a Voicemail

Action

In MakeRetrieves voicemail recording URL with ID of the voicemail.

Gives you the recording link of one voicemail from its ID, which is what you need to let someone listen from an email, a chat message or a ticket. It is the step that turns an alert into something playable.

When to use it
right after Watch New Voicemails, to attach the audio to the callback task.
Watch out
it needs the voicemail ID, so map it from a trigger or from List Voicemails.
Toky4

Get a Contact

Action

In MakeGets a contact.

Fetches one Toky contact so its details are available to the modules that follow. Handy when a flow knows exactly which contact it is dealing with and needs the rest of the record.

When to use it
before updating a contact or writing a personal text, to read what Toky already holds.
Watch out
it returns a single contact; when you do not know which one, List Contacts is the better start.
Toky5

Make an API Call

Action

In MakePerforms an arbitrary authorized API call.

Reaches any endpoint of the Toky API from your scenario, reusing the connection you already made. It fills the gaps when none of the ready-made modules covers what you need.

When to use it
the Toky feature you want to automate has no dedicated module on this page.
Watch out
you write the request yourself, so keep the Toky API documentation open to get the path and parameters right.
Toky6

Update a Contact

Action

In MakeUpdates a contact.

Changes an existing Toky contact so the phone directory stays in line with the tool where your data really lives. Callers keep showing up with up-to-date details.

When to use it
a customer's record changes in your CRM and Toky should reflect it without a manual edit.
Watch out
it works on a contact that already exists, so find it first with Get a Contact or List Contacts.
Toky7

List Agents

Search

In MakeRetrieves all agents from a Toky Account.

Returns every agent of your Toky account, one bundle per person, so a scenario can know who is on the team. Useful for routing work or reporting per agent.

When to use it
a flow must assign a callback or share a call summary with a specific agent.
Watch out
as a search, it can return several bundles, and every module after it runs once for each agent.
Toky8

List Contacts

Search

In MakeGets all contacts from the phone directory.

Pulls the contacts from your Toky phone directory, one bundle each, so you can copy them elsewhere or check whether someone exists. It is the way to see the whole directory from Make.

When to use it
before Create a Contact, to avoid duplicates, or to sync the directory into a spreadsheet.
Watch out
a large directory means many bundles, and each module that follows uses operations for every one of them.
Toky9

List Text Messages

Search

In MakeList text messages history, sent and received. The result is ordered by descending date.

Brings back your text history, sent and received, newest first. You get the full thread of what your team and your customers wrote, not only fresh arrivals.

When to use it
building a log of conversations or reviewing past exchanges with a customer before a call.
Watch out
every message becomes its own bundle, so later modules can multiply operations on a long history.
Toky10

List Voicemails

Search

In MakeList voicemail history. The result is ordered by descending created date.

Lists your voicemail history, most recent first, each voicemail as its own bundle. That makes it easy to catch up on messages left before your scenario was running.

When to use it
recovering older voicemails, then passing each ID to Get a Voicemail for its recording link.
Watch out
for new messages as they come, Watch New Voicemails is quicker and uses fewer operations.

FAQ

Toky and Make: common questions

01Is the Toky Make integration free?
Yes, on the Make side. Toky is a standard app, available from the Free plan. That plan lets you run 2 active scenarios, with at least 15 minutes between scheduled runs, 5 minutes of execution at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) bring the interval down to 1 minute and allow unlimited active scenarios. Make counts usage in operations, one per module run on one bundle. Your Toky subscription is separate and depends on Toky's own pricing.
02What do you need to connect Toky to Make?
An active Toky account and an API key. In Toky, open the settings panel, go to the API section or the API keys tab, and copy the key shown. In Make, add a Toky module, click Create a connection, give it a name if you like, and paste the key. For an instant trigger, click Create a webhook before creating the connection. The connection is then reused by every Toky module in your scenarios, so you only do this once per account.
03Do Toky triggers in Make react in real time?
Yes. All four Toky triggers are instant: Watch Call Events, Watch New Calls, Watch New Text Messages and Watch New Voicemails. Toky calls Make through a webhook as soon as the event happens, so the scenario starts without waiting for a polling interval. That is why setup asks you to click Create a webhook. Scenarios that begin with another app's scheduled trigger still follow their schedule, every 15 minutes by default on a new scenario, and never less than 15 minutes on the Free plan.
04What if the Toky module you need is missing in Make?
Use Make an API Call. It reaches any endpoint of the Toky API with the same connection, so a feature without a ready-made module is still within reach, provided you build the request from the Toky API documentation. The Make documentation for Toky lists no specific limits, and it says it was written with AI help from Toky's own docs, so verify important details with Toky before relying on them in a live scenario.
05Should you pick Make or n8n for Toky?
It depends on the tool your team already uses. On Make, Toky offers 14 modules, including 4 instant triggers and Make an API Call for anything missing, and runs from the Free plan. The same app often has an n8n node as well, so check that its operations cover your needs before choosing. Neither tool is ranked above the other here: compare the modules you need, how your team likes to build, and what each platform's plan includes for your volume.
