Autocalls Zapier integrationAutomate Autocalls with Zapier.

The Autocalls Zapier integration is small: 1 trigger and 2 actions. That is enough to start an AI phone call from any app, then send what the call produced wherever it is needed. The trigger is instant, even on the free plan.

Overview

What the Autocalls Zapier integration is for

The Autocalls Zapier integration connects Autocalls, a platform where AI voice agents place phone calls for you, to the rest of your tools, without code. It works in both directions: another app can ask an Autocalls assistant to dial a number, and the end of each call can feed what was said into your CRM, a sheet or a chat.

Three results justify setting it up. Leads called within the flow: a form submission or a new CRM contact runs Make Phone Call, so an assistant rings the person while the request is still fresh. Campaigns that fill themselves: Create Lead drops each new prospect into an Autocalls campaign, so nobody pastes phone numbers into a dashboard. Call outcomes that reach your team: Phone Call Ended passes the variables the assistant extracted during the conversation to the next step, ready to be written into a sheet or a CRM.

The limits are just as clear. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a past call or an existing lead in Autocalls. There is no trigger for a lead added or a call started, only for a call that has ended. And nothing that happened before the Zap was switched on is picked up.

The Autocalls n8n integration and the Autocalls Make integration cover the same app on the other two platforms, if you are still choosing your tool.

Vocabulary

Zapier words you will meet on this page

If Zapier is new to you, these seven terms are all you need to read the rest.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or launches something for you, here a call or a lead.
Task
What Zapier counts and bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Triggers and failed steps do not count.
Polling vs instant
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is pushed by the app itself as soon as the event happens.
Filter
A step that only lets the Zap go further when the incoming data matches your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Autocalls account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step in every Zap that talks to Autocalls.
Cost

What an Autocalls Zap costs in Zapier tasks

Autocalls is not reserved for paid plans: the free Zapier plan can connect it. What you consume depends on actions only.

  • Paid plan requiredNo, free plan works
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Trigger cost0 tasks
  • Autocalls triggerInstant

The trigger never uses a task, and neither does Zapier looking for new data. Every action that succeeds counts once, so a Zap that calls and then logs the call in a sheet uses two tasks per run. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, and that needs a paid plan. Phone Call Ended is instant, so the polling grid below never delays it.

Connect

Connect your Autocalls account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Start from the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. You only do this once: every Zap that uses Autocalls afterwards picks the same connection from a dropdown.

  2. 02

    Find Autocalls and sign in

Search for Autocalls in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens: sign in with the Autocalls account that owns the assistants and campaigns you plan to use.

  3. 03

    Allow access

Grant Zapier access to the account. You need an Autocalls account, plus access to any assistant or campaign you did not create yourself but want the Zap to use.

First Zap

Your first Autocalls Zap: call back whoever asked for it

GoalWhen an assistant hangs up and the caller asked for a callback, a second Autocalls assistant rings them back.

  1. 01

    Set the trigger

Create a Zap, choose Autocalls and the Phone Call Ended event, select your connection, then the Assistant whose calls the Zap should follow.

  2. 02

    Test on a real call

Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent ended calls, so you see the exact variables your assistant extracts before mapping anything.

  3. 03

    Keep only callbacks

Add Filter from the plus icon, pick the variable that records the callback request, a matching text rule, then Configure & test. The Zap is now multi-step.

  4. 04

    Add the callback

Add Autocalls again with Make Phone Call. Pick a different Assistant from the one the trigger follows, map the caller's number in international format and pass the extracted variables on.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the call step on your own number first, then click Publish. The lightning bolt in the editor confirms the trigger is instant.

Triggers

The Autocalls trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Autocalls, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Phone Call Ended

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a phone call ends, with extracted variables.”

The single Autocalls trigger fires when one of your assistants hangs up, and it hands over the variables that assistant pulled out of the conversation: an answer, a choice, a date the caller gave. That is what turns a voice call into data the rest of your stack can use.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
logging every qualified call in your CRM, or alerting a salesperson in chat when a prospect asks for a callback.
Watch out
the Assistant field is required, so one Zap follows one assistant; a second assistant needs its own Zap.
Actions

Autocalls actions: what your Zap can launch

Autocalls gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Lead

Action

In Zapier“Creates a lead in a campaign.”

Adds a contact to one of your Autocalls campaigns, so the number joins that campaign instead of being dialled by a one-off call step.

When to use it
feeding a reactivation campaign with every customer flagged as inactive in your billing tool.
Watch out
the phone number must be in international format with the + and country code, and the Allow Duplicate choice is required, so decide whether the same number may enter twice.
2

Make Phone Call

Action

In Zapier“Call a customer by it's phone number using an AI assistant from Autocalls.”

Has an Autocalls assistant ring a customer straight away, using the variables you map to personalise what it says.

When to use it
calling back a lead who just filled a demo request, while the interest is still warm.
Watch out
the Assistant, the customer number in international E.164 format and the Variables are all required; a number without its country code is the usual reason the step fails.
When it breaks

When an Autocalls Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Autocalls, so the cases below are the general Zapier limits applied to phone calls.

With a calling tool, a Zap that misbehaves does more than waste tasks: it can dial real people. These are the situations worth checking before you publish.

  • Old leads are never called

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts already sitting in your form or CRM are not picked up; moving them over is a separate job.
  • A loop that keeps calling

If the step after Phone Call Ended writes into the very app that starts a Make Phone Call Zap, each call can set off the next one, burning tasks and calls.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Importing a large contact list at once can fire a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back rather than run every call.
  • Wrong phone format

Both actions want an international number with the + and country code. A local number from a form makes the step fail; format it before the action.

FAQ

Autocalls Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Autocalls Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes: Autocalls is not reserved for paid plans, so the free plan can connect it. That plan includes 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stays at two steps, one trigger and one action. A filter, such as skipping leads without a phone number, or a second action needs a paid plan. For a first test, Phone Call Ended followed by a single Autocalls action fits inside those limits.
02How many tasks does an Autocalls Zap use?
One for each action that succeeds, and none for the trigger. A Zap that starts on Phone Call Ended and writes one row to a sheet uses a single task per call. A Zap that receives a form, runs Make Phone Call and then posts a message uses two. A step that fails, for example because the phone format was wrong, is not counted, so testing errors does not drain your allowance.
03Does the Autocalls Zapier integration work instantly?
Yes. Phone Call Ended is an instant trigger: Autocalls tells Zapier as soon as the call is over and the Zap starts at once. The polling grid of the plans, 15 minutes on the free plan, does not apply to it. The editor shows a lightning bolt next to the trigger to confirm it. The speed of a Make Phone Call action, however, depends on the Zap that triggers it.
04What do you need to connect Autocalls to Zapier?
An Autocalls account, a Zapier account, and at least one assistant or campaign already set up in Autocalls. The connection is made once from the Apps page in Zapier: search for Autocalls, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. If you use assistants or campaigns that a colleague created, you also need access to them, otherwise they will not appear in the dropdowns of the Zap steps.
05Why does Make Phone Call fail on some numbers?
Most of the time the number is not in international format. Autocalls expects the plus sign and the country code in front, the E.164 format, and many forms collect local numbers instead. Fix it at the source by making the phone field international, or reshape the number in a step before the call. Remember that any extra step makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid Zapier plan. Testing with your own number first avoids surprises.
06What if the Autocalls operation you need is missing?
Then the integration does not offer it today. The visible set is one trigger and two actions: no search, no trigger on a new lead and no action to update or remove one. A common workaround is to keep the master list in your CRM and let Autocalls only receive leads and return call results. When a flow truly needs more, it calls for a different tool or a custom build.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Autocalls?
Choose by criteria rather than by brand. Zapier is the fastest way to plug a form into Make Phone Call, and its instant trigger works the same on every plan. Before choosing Make or n8n, check that their Autocalls integration offers the operations your flow needs, and who on your team will maintain it. Coverage and maintenance are better criteria than a ranking, especially for a tool that dials real phone numbers.
