BigMarker Zapier integrationAutomate BigMarker with Zapier.

The BigMarker Zapier integration gives you 5 triggers and 1 action. Registrations, attendees walking into a webinar, the attendance report at the end: Zapier can start on each of them, then sign a person up for an event without anyone copying names by hand.

Overview

What the BigMarker Zapier integration actually does

BigMarker hosts webinars, online workshops and streamed events. Plugged into Zapier, it does two things: it tells your automations when someone registers for or enters a webinar, and it can register a person to an event for you. Five events to listen to, one thing to do. That is the whole surface, and it is narrow.

Three results people actually build with it. A follow-up session that fills itself: everyone who registers for your intro webinar through New Webinar Registration gets put on the list of the deeper session with Register Member to an Event. A live-presence signal: Conference New Attendee Enter fires the moment someone shows up, which is the difference between a registrant and a real attendee. A channel-wide feed: if you run a whole BigMarker channel, the two channel triggers watch every webinar in it instead of one at a time.

What Zapier does not do here: there is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing BigMarker member or event before acting. There is no action to create a webinar, cancel a registration or edit a member either. One action, registering someone, is all you get on the writing side. If your plan needs more than that, it is worth checking the BigMarker Make integration page before you commit, and the Make vs Zapier comparison if you are still choosing a tool.

Vocabulary

Zapier in one minute

Seven words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or registers something for you in an app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Connection
Your BigMarker account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches BigMarker.
Cost

What a BigMarker Zap really costs

BigMarker is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill depends on actions, not on how often Zapier looks.

  • Free plan100 tasks per month
  • Zaps on freeUnlimited, two steps each
  • Premium appNo, works on free
  • Billed onSuccessful actions only

The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new registrations, however often it checks. You pay one task each time Register Member to an Event goes through. If it fails, it is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter and the Zap becomes multi-step, which means a paid plan. A few apps bill more than one task per action; nothing in the BigMarker listing says this one does.

Connect

Connect BigMarker to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a BigMarker account first, plus access to any channel or webinar you do not own but want the Zap to read.

  2. 02

    Find BigMarker and start

Type BigMarker in the search box of the dialog, pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the BigMarker side, where you sign in with the account the Zap should act as.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to use the account. From then on that connection is reused by every BigMarker step you build, so you only do this once per account, not once per Zap.

First Zap

Your first BigMarker Zap: feed the advanced session

GoalEach new registrant of your intro webinar gets signed up for the advanced session, as long as their email came through.

  1. 01

    Build: pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose BigMarker, then New Webinar Registration. Paste the Webinar ID of the intro webinar, the one people sign up for first.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent registrations of that webinar, so you map the next steps on a real person rather than on blank fields.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

From the plus icon, add Filter: pick the registrant's email as the field and a text rule that only lets a filled-in value through, so the run stops before an action that would fail. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the action

Choose Register Member to an Event, pick the advanced session as Conference, and map the email, first name and last name from the trigger. All four fields are required.

  5. 05

    Test, then Publish

Test the action once and check the person appears on the advanced session. Then click Publish. Only registrations made after that moment will go through.

Triggers

The 5 BigMarker triggers

5 events start a Zap when something happens in BigMarker, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Registration Attendees Report

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when webinar is ended with attendees.”

Once a webinar has ended with people in the room, this one hands your Zap the attendees of that session. It is the closing report of a webinar, delivered to your other tools instead of sitting in BigMarker.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
you want the people who actually attended, not everyone who signed up, to move into the next step of your program.
Watch out
it needs the Webinar ID of the session, found in the About This Webinar section of its BigMarker page.
2

Channel Wide New Attendee Enter

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new attendee entered a webinar for a given channel.”

Someone walks into any webinar of a given channel, and the Zap starts. One trigger covers the whole channel, so you do not build a Zap per session.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you run a recurring series under one channel and want a single Zap that reacts to live attendance across all of it, including sessions you have not scheduled yet.
Watch out
the Channel Name field expects the channel ID, the one shown in the address bar when you open the channel page.
3

Conference New Attendee Enter

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new attendee entered a webinar.”

Watches one specific webinar and fires as each new attendee enters it. This is presence, not intent: the person is in the room right now.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a product demo where your sales team wants to know who actually showed up while the session is still running, so the follow-up goes to live attendees only.
Watch out
the Webinar ID is required, so a new webinar means editing the Zap or building a second one.
4

New Channel Webinar Registration

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new webinar registration is created from the specified BigMarker channel.”

Picks up every new registration made on any webinar of the BigMarker channel you choose. It is the wide-angle version of the single-webinar registration trigger.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a training company that publishes a new session each month under the same channel and wants every sign-up handled by one Zap, without touching it when a session is added.
Watch out
the Channel ID field is required and the trigger stays blind to other channels.
5

New Webinar Registration

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new registration is created for a particular webinar.”

Fires on each new sign-up for one particular webinar. You get the registrant as soon as Zapier spots them, which is before the event even starts.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a one-off launch webinar where each registration should travel to the advanced session or another event, as in the Zap above.
Watch out
the Webinar ID comes from the About This Event section of the event page. Paste the ID of another session and the Zap watches that one instead.
Actions

The BigMarker action

BigMarker gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Register Member to an Event

Action

In Zapier“Registers a member to an event.”

Puts a person on the registration list of a BigMarker event, using the details earlier steps carried in.

When to use it
moving registrants or attendees of one session onto the next one, or signing up people who came in from another tool.
Watch out
four fields are required (the Conference, the member email, first name and last name). If a previous step leaves one empty, the action fails and nobody gets registered.
When it breaks

When a BigMarker Zap breaks

Zapier ties no help article to BigMarker, so the risks below are the ones every Zap shares. With this app, they bite in specific places.

Most surprises come from IDs and from timing. A Zap is not a sync: it only reacts to what happens after you publish it, and the webinar, channel or event it watches is fixed by the ID you typed. If you are stuck after these four checks, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Past registrations are not picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Registrants who signed up before you published stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.
  • A loop that eats your tasks

Register people to the same webinar your registration trigger watches, and each new registration starts the Zap again. Always point the action at a different event.
  • A big import held back

After a bulk import of registrants, the trigger can suddenly return a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back instead of running everything at once.
  • No duplicates on polling triggers

Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same registration does not start the Zap twice, even if it checks many times.

FAQ

BigMarker Zapier integration: questions people ask

01Is the BigMarker Zapier integration free?
Yes, it works on the free Zapier plan, because BigMarker is not a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A BigMarker trigger followed by Register Member to an Event fits that exactly. As soon as you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and you need a paid plan. No price is shown here because the grids change too often.
02How many tasks does a BigMarker Zap use?
One task each time an action completes successfully, nothing else. The trigger is free, and Zapier checking for new registrations costs nothing however often it looks. So a Zap that registers each new attendee to a follow-up event costs one task per person registered. If the registration fails, for example because the email is missing, that run is not counted. A Zap with three actions would use three tasks per run, since every successful action counts on its own.
03Does BigMarker trigger in real time on Zapier?
Two of the five triggers do: Channel Wide New Attendee Enter and Conference New Attendee Enter. BigMarker reports those to Zapier itself, so the Zap starts right away whatever your plan. The other three, including both registration triggers and the attendance report, are polling: Zapier checks on a timer, every 15 minutes on the free plan, every 2 on Professional and every minute on Team and Enterprise. You cannot switch a trigger from one mode to the other in the editor.
04What does it take to connect BigMarker to Zapier?
A BigMarker account, plus access to any webinar or channel you do not own but want the Zap to read or write. You add the connection once from the Apps page of Zapier with + Add connection, sign in on the BigMarker side and grant access. Keep the IDs at hand too: each trigger asks for a Webinar ID or a channel ID, and the action asks which Conference to register people to.
05Where is the Webinar ID that BigMarker asks for?
On the BigMarker page of the webinar itself, in the About This Webinar section (About This Event for an event). Three of the five triggers need it, and the attendance report trigger cannot run without it. The channel triggers ask for a channel ID instead, which shows up in the address bar when you open the channel page. Paste the ID of another session by mistake and the Zap simply watches that other session.
06What if the BigMarker action you need does not exist on Zapier?
Then Zapier cannot do it with BigMarker today. The only action is Register Member to an Event, and there is no search step, so creating webinars, cancelling registrations or looking up a member are out of reach from the editor. The practical move is to keep BigMarker as the trigger and let another app handle the rest of the work, or to check whether Make covers the operation that is missing for this use case.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for BigMarker?
It depends on three criteria rather than on a winner. Coverage: on Zapier, BigMarker brings five triggers and a single action, so check what the other tools expose for the same app before choosing. Cost model: Zapier bills each successful action as a task and charges nothing for checking, which suits a webinar flow where only registrations cost anything. Fit with your team: the tool people already know is the one they will maintain. Weigh those three criteria for your own case, not a general ranking between the three tools.
