MAT by Massively Zapier integrationAutomate MAT by Massively with Zapier.
The MAT by Massively Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 0 actions and 0 searches. Every new contact your chatbot or live chat collects can start a Zap and land in another tool, but Zapier cannot write anything back into MAT.

What the MAT by Massively Zapier integration does for you
MAT by Massively is a chatbot and live chat platform driven by generative AI. Linking it to Zapier means one thing: each new contact that shows up in MAT can set off an automation elsewhere. It is a one-way street. MAT talks, Zapier listens, another app receives.
With a single trigger, New Contact, the useful outcomes all look the same from the MAT side and differ only by where the contact ends up. Three that make sense: a running log, where each contact becomes a new row in a spreadsheet your team already checks; a team ping, where a message lands in your team chat so a person can follow up; and a list entry, where the contact joins your mailing tool.
Here is what Zapier does not do for this app. There is no action, so no Zap can create, update or tag anything inside MAT. There is no search either, so a Zap cannot look up a MAT contact it did not just receive. If you need the other direction, Zapier is not the tool for it here, at least not as the integration stood when read on 9 October 2026. One more thing to know: New Contact is a polling trigger, so a contact reaches the other app at Zapier's next check, not the moment MAT records it.

Zapier words you will meet on this page
Eight terms, plain English, so the rest of the page reads without a dictionary.
- Zap
- An automation you build on Zapier: one trigger first, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, in this case always in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that your Zap completed successfully; your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer, Zapier asks for new items and keeps the unseen ones. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and quietly stops it the rest of the time.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app so later steps can use it. MAT by Massively offers none on Zapier.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap that goes beyond one trigger and one action. Adding a filter, a search or a second action makes it one, and it needs a paid plan.
What a MAT by Massively Zap really costs
MAT by Massively is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works on the free plan. The bill comes from the action in the other app, never from MAT.
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
- Trigger cost0 tasks, checks included
- Filter or second actionMulti-step Zap, paid plan
The New Contact trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier goes looking. Each action that goes through counts as one task, and one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, as many Zaps as you like, but each Zap stops at two steps. Add a filter to keep only some contacts and the Zap becomes multi-step, which means a paid plan. How often Zapier checks for contacts depends on your plan, as the grid shows.
Connect MAT by Massively to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your Zapier apps
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your MAT account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that needs it.
- 02
Find MAT by Massively
Type the app name in the dialog, pick MAT by Massively from the results, then click Add connection. You need an existing MAT account at this point; Zapier only links to it.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
A new tab opens. Sign in to MAT with the account that sees the contacts you care about, then grant Zapier access. If those contacts belong to someone else's workspace, you need read access to them first.
Your first Zap: every new MAT contact becomes a spreadsheet row
GoalKeep a shared sheet where each new MAT by Massively contact appears as a row, but only the contacts that meet a condition you set.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose MAT by Massively as the app that starts it, then New Contact as the event. Select the connection you set up earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of your MAT account, so you map the next steps on a real one. Note which fields come back: that is what you can use.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, add Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers, or the filter never passes.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet step
Add the action from your spreadsheet tool, choose the file, then map the contact fields from the test into the columns. Test this step too and open the sheet to check the row.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Because of the filter this is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan; drop the filter and it fits on the free one.
The MAT by Massively trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in MAT by Massively. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Contact
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there's a new contact on Massively.”
Fires when a contact is added to your MAT by Massively account, which is the only door Zapier has into this app. The contact it brings back then feeds the steps that follow.
When a MAT by Massively Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to this app and lists no limit specific to MAT. What goes wrong comes from how Zapier itself works.
Here are the general limits to know. For a structured way to diagnose a stuck Zap, see our Zapier troubleshooting page.
Old contacts never show up
A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts already in MAT are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.A big import gets held back
If a bulk import suddenly adds many contacts, Zapier's flood protection can hold the batch back. The same contact twice
Zapier keeps track of what it already saw on a polling trigger, so one contact should not start the Zap twice. Each new contact is meant to count once.Loops and runaway task counts
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes where its own trigger looks can set itself off again. With MAT that cannot happen, since Zapier writes nothing back.
