Overview

What the MyBizzMail Zapier integration does

MyBizzMail is an email marketing service: you build newsletters, magazines and forms in its editor and send them to your lists. Linked to Zapier, it reacts when someone subscribes through one of your forms, and it accepts orders from other tools to file addresses into groups or to send emails you prepared beforehand. If Zapier is new to you, start with our Zapier review.

A welcome that goes out by itself. New Subscriber is an instant trigger. Paired with Send Email to User, it sends an email you already built in MyBizzMail to the person who just signed up, with no timer in between.

Contacts from other tools, sorted into groups. Add to Group takes an email address from a CRM, a sheet or a checkout tool and files it into the MyBizzMail group you pick.

One click less for a group send. Send Email to Group sends one of your existing emails to a whole group when something happens elsewhere, such as a new row in a planning sheet.

What Zapier does not do here. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot check whether an address is already in a group. The actions send existing emails only: Zapier does not write or design the email for you. There is no action to remove someone from a group, and only one trigger is offered. To compare platforms on criteria, see Make vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven terms come back on this page. Each one in plain words.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Here, a new MyBizzMail subscriber.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like sending an email.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MyBizzMail Zap really costs

MyBizzMail is not reserved for paid plans: it works from the free plan. What Zapier bills is tasks.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • TriggerNever billed
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Failed actionNot counted

New Subscriber never costs a task. Each action that succeeds counts one: an Add to Group, a Send Email to User, a Send Email to Group or a step in another app. One that fails is not counted. The free plan stops at two steps, so the welcome Zap that also writes into a CRM is multi-step and needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers only; it does not apply to New Subscriber, which is instant.

Connect

Connect MyBizzMail to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your MyBizzMail account linked once, then reused by every step that needs it.

  2. 02

    Pick MyBizzMail

Search for MyBizzMail by name in the dialog, select it in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens, this time on the MyBizzMail side, for the sign-in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to MyBizzMail in that tab and grant Zapier access. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: welcome each subscriber, then log them in your CRM

GoalEach new subscriber through your MyBizzMail form receives your welcome email and becomes a contact in your CRM.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap, choose MyBizzMail as the trigger app and New Subscriber as the event, pick your connection, then select the form to watch.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map the fields on a real subscriber rather than a blank one.

  3. 03

    Add Send Email to User

Add an action, choose MyBizzMail and Send Email to User. Select your welcome email in Email, and map the subscriber's address into User.

  4. 04

    Add the CRM step

Add a second action with your CRM and its create-contact event, mapped from the trigger values. Two actions make it a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step, check the email received and the new CRM contact, then click Publish. For guided practice, see our Zapier training.

Triggers

The MyBizzMail trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in MyBizzMail, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Subscriber

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when you have a new subscriber.”

Starts your Zap each time someone subscribes through the MyBizzMail form you selected, and hands the subscriber's details to the next steps. It is the only trigger this app offers on Zapier, so every flow that starts from MyBizzMail starts from a new sign-up.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a new sign-up should get a first email, land in your CRM or alert the person who handles new contacts.
Watch out
the trigger is tied to one Form, which is required; subscribers from another form do not reach this Zap.
Actions

The 3 MyBizzMail actions

MyBizzMail gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add to Group

Action

In Zapier“Adds the given email to one of your groups.”

Files an email address into one of your MyBizzMail groups, picked from the groups that already exist in your account.

When to use it
contacts appear in another tool, a CRM or a checkout, and you want them in the right MyBizzMail group without exporting a list.
Watch out
both Group and Email are required; map the address from the earlier step rather than typing one.
2

Send Email to Group

Action

In Zapier“Sends an existing email to one of your group of users.”

Sends one of your existing MyBizzMail emails to every member of a group you choose.

When to use it
an event in another tool, such as a new entry in a planning sheet, should release a prepared mailing to a whole group.
Watch out
the email has to be built in MyBizzMail beforehand; the action selects it, it does not write it.
3

Send Email to User

Action

In Zapier“Sends an existing email to an email address.”

Delivers a ready-made MyBizzMail email to a single address taken from an earlier step.

When to use it
one person, a new subscriber or a new customer elsewhere, should receive a specific email at that point and nobody else.
Watch out
the address goes into the User field, while the field named Email is where you pick the message to send.
When it breaks

When a MyBizzMail Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article and no specific limit to MyBizzMail. What can go wrong comes from how Zapier works in general and from the required fields.

Four cases are worth knowing before you publish. If a Zap behaves oddly, start with our Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Earlier subscribers are not picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. People who subscribed before are not sent anywhere; reaching them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again and burn through tasks.
  • A bulk import at once

If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.
  • The wrong form selected

New Subscriber watches the one Form you chose. If sign-ups come through another form, the Zap does not see them; check the form in the trigger step.

FAQ

MyBizzMail Zapier integration: questions

01Is the MyBizzMail Zapier integration free?
Yes. MyBizzMail is not reserved for paid plans, so it runs on the free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. Sending a welcome email to each new subscriber fits inside that limit. Adding a CRM step after the welcome, or a filter that keeps only some subscribers, turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a MyBizzMail Zap use?
One per action that succeeds. New Subscriber itself is never billed. The welcome Zap with a CRM step spends two tasks per subscriber, because each successful action counts on its own. A Zap that only runs Add to Group spends one task per address it files into a group. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Before adding steps, count the subscribers you expect each month against the tasks of your plan.
03Does the MyBizzMail trigger work in real time?
Yes. New Subscriber is an instant trigger: MyBizzMail tells Zapier itself when someone subscribes, and the Zap starts right away whatever your plan, free included. The interval grid of the plans does not apply to it. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. Whether a trigger is instant is decided by the app, and it cannot be switched from the editor. No setting on the Zapier plan speeds it up or slows it down.
04What do you need to connect MyBizzMail?
An account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You add the connection once from the Apps page of your Zapier account: search for MyBizzMail, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. Every MyBizzMail step then reuses it. Have your form, your groups and the emails you plan to send ready in the account before building.
05Can a Zap write the email that MyBizzMail sends?
No. Send Email to User and Send Email to Group both send an existing email: the Email field lets you select a message already built in MyBizzMail, and that is all. The content, the layout and the subject stay in MyBizzMail. So prepare the email there first, then pick it in the step. On Send Email to User, the recipient's address goes into the User field, not into Email. Both fields are required on that action.
06What if the operation you want is not offered?
Then the integration does not offer it in the editor. The MyBizzMail page on Zapier shows the current list of operations: today one trigger and three actions, with no search and no action to take someone out of a group. A flow that must check whether an address is already in a group, for example, cannot be built that way with this app. Check that page before you design the Zap, so a missing step does not surprise you halfway through.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MyBizzMail?
Compare them on criteria rather than on a ranking. Coverage: Zapier gives you New Subscriber and three actions on groups and sends; on another platform, first check whether it has a MyBizzMail module and what that module covers. Speed: the trigger here is instant, so the plan interval does not slow it on Zapier. Shape of the flow: a welcome email plus a CRM step already goes past the two steps of the free plan.
