NextBrain Zapier integrationAutomate NextBrain with Zapier.

The NextBrain Zapier integration gives you 2 triggers and 1 action. Both triggers are instant, NextBrain works on the free plan, and each of the three steps is tied to one model through its model identifier. Here is how to use them without guessing.

Overview

What the NextBrain Zapier integration is for

NextBrain is a no-code machine learning tool: you build models without writing code, and they produce predictions. Linking it to Zapier lets a fresh prediction or a finished training run start work in your other apps, and lets other apps ask a NextBrain model for a prediction.

Predictions that land where people read them. On New Prediction starts a Zap each time a model generates a prediction, so the result can go to a sheet, a chat or a report instead of staying inside NextBrain.

A heads-up when a model is ready. On New Train reacts when a model is trained or retrained, which is the moment to tell whoever relies on it.

Predictions requested from outside. Create Prediction asks a NextBrain model for a prediction from inside a Zap, so an event in another app can request one without anyone opening NextBrain.

What Zapier does not do here: it does not build or train models, and it offers no search step to look a model up. Every one of the three steps works on a single model that you designate by its identifier, so the identifier is the first thing to have at hand before you open the editor. If you are still weighing tools for that kind of work, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison and our Zapier review.

Vocabulary

Zapier words used on this page

Seven terms in plain words. After this, the page uses them without explaining them again.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for it to happen.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or creates something in an app for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance counts those.
Polling vs instant
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when the data that arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter turns it into one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What NextBrain on Zapier really costs

Zapier does not reserve NextBrain for paid plans: it works from the free plan. What you spend are tasks, and only successful actions count.

  • Reserved for paid plansNo, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • TriggerCosts no task
  • Failed actionNot counted

A trigger never costs a task, so a Zap that only listens for new predictions is free until it does something. Each action that goes through counts once; a Zap with two actions uses twice as many tasks per run. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers; both NextBrain triggers are instant, so it does not apply to them.

Connect

Connect your NextBrain account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Go to Apps

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your NextBrain account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that talks to NextBrain.

  2. 02

    Find NextBrain

Search NextBrain in the dialog, pick it and click Add connection. You need an account on NextBrain, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

NextBrain opens in a new tab. Sign in with the account Zapier should use and grant Zapier access to it. The connection can then be picked in any Zap you build.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a log of every NextBrain prediction

GoalEach prediction a chosen model produces becomes a row in your spreadsheet, and a second action can post it to your team chat.

  1. 01

    Start on On New Prediction

Create a Zap, pick NextBrain as the trigger app and On New Prediction as the event, then select your NextBrain connection.

  2. 02

    Point it at one model

Paste the Model Identifier of the model you want to follow. Copy it from under the model's name on its page in NextBrain, then test the trigger to see what a prediction carries.

  3. 03

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add your spreadsheet as the action, choose its create-row event and map the prediction details you saw at test into the columns. Test the action and check the row.

  4. 04

    Decide on the chat message

The chat card is a second action: it makes the Zap multi-step, which requires a paid plan. On the free plan, keep the row only and leave the message out.

  5. 05

    Publish

Publish the Zap to switch it on. It only reacts to predictions made after that point. For hands-on practice, see our Zapier training.

Triggers

NextBrain triggers on Zapier

2 events start a Zap when something happens in NextBrain, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

On New Prediction

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a model generates a new prediction.”

Starts your Zap every time the model you picked generates a new prediction, and hands that prediction to the next step.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
when a model's output is needed in a sheet, a chat or another tool rather than in NextBrain itself.
Watch out
the trigger needs the Model Identifier of one model, found under the model's name on its page. Test it to see which details a prediction actually sends.
2

On New Train

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a model is trained/retrained.”

Reacts when a model is trained or retrained, so the end of a training run can start something elsewhere.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
when someone should hear that a model has a fresh version, or when a log of training runs should be kept outside NextBrain.
Watch out
like the prediction trigger, it watches one model through its required Model Identifier. Only training runs that finish after the Zap is published start it; earlier ones are never picked up.
Actions

NextBrain action on Zapier

NextBrain gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Prediction

Action

In Zapier“Creates a prediction in NextBrain”

Asks a NextBrain model for a new prediction from inside a Zap, started by an event in another app.

When to use it
when something that happens elsewhere should get a prediction from a model you already built, without anyone opening NextBrain.
Watch out
Model Identifier is required and points the step at one model. Run the test to see what the step needs and what it returns before you publish.
When it breaks

When a NextBrain Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to NextBrain, so these are the general limits that apply to any Zap built on it.

Go through them before you publish. If a Zap still acts up, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next place to look.

  • Past predictions stay behind

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Predictions and training runs that already existed are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again and use up your tasks.
  • A sudden burst of results

When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back.
  • The wrong model identifier

Each step is tied to the model whose identifier you pasted. Copy it from under the model's name on its page, and test the step before publishing.

FAQ

NextBrain Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the NextBrain Zapier integration free?
Yes. Zapier does not reserve NextBrain for paid plans, so the free plan is enough to start. It gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you want, as long as each one has two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that writes each new prediction into a spreadsheet fits that limit. Add a filter or a second action, such as a chat message after the row, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a NextBrain Zap use?
One task for each action that succeeds, and none for the trigger. A Zap that logs each prediction in a sheet uses one task per prediction; add a chat message and it uses two. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Waiting for predictions or training runs costs nothing either. If a model produces a lot of predictions, keep an eye on the count, because the 100 tasks of the free plan can go fast.
03Do NextBrain triggers fire in real time?
Yes. On New Prediction and On New Train are both instant triggers: NextBrain tells Zapier the moment the event happens, and the Zap starts right away whatever your plan. The polling interval of the plans does not apply to them. A Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt in the editor. A sudden huge batch, after an import for example, can still be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
04What does it take to connect NextBrain to Zapier?
An account on NextBrain, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. From the Apps page of your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search for NextBrain, click Add connection, sign in to NextBrain in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Keep the Model Identifier of each model you plan to use at hand, because every NextBrain step asks for one.
05Where is the NextBrain model identifier?
Under the model's name, on the model's page, once you open the workspace that holds it. You can also reach it by searching your models in NextBrain. Both triggers and the Create Prediction action require this Model Identifier, and each identifier is unique to one model. Copy it carefully, paste it into the step, then run the test: the result shows whether the step is talking to the model you meant before the Zap goes live.
06What if the NextBrain operation you want is not on Zapier?
Then this integration cannot do it today. Open the NextBrain page on Zapier: it shows the current list of triggers and actions, and that list is the reference. On this page you have two triggers, for new predictions and new training runs, and one action that creates a prediction. There is no search step and no action that builds or trains a model. If your process depends on one of those, this integration does not cover it today.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for NextBrain?
Decide on criteria rather than on a ranking. On Zapier, NextBrain brings two instant triggers and one prediction action, and a two-step Zap runs on the free plan with 100 tasks a month. Ask yourself how many steps the flow needs, since a filter or extra action requires a paid plan on Zapier; how many predictions a month will pass through, since each successful action is billed; and whether the steps you need are on the NextBrain list. Then check the same three points on Make and n8n.
