Overview

What the Nteraction Zapier integration actually does

The Nteraction Zapier integration links your Nteraction account (the tool that sends personalized, cookie-free playlists of web content to customers and staff) to the rest of your apps. You build a Zap, an automation made of one trigger and one or more actions, and it runs on its own every time the trigger event happens.

Three results come back again and again. First, a welcome that sends itself: a contact lands in Nteraction, Contact Created fires, and Email Playlist sends your onboarding playlist. Second, engagement that reaches your sales team: Playlist Opened or Playlist Link Clicked tells another tool that someone is actually reading. Third, a contact list that stays clean: Contact Unsubscribed and Contact Resubscribed carry opt-out changes to wherever else you keep that person.

The good news for a free plan: all eight Nteraction triggers are instant, so the plan's check interval never slows them down. Worth knowing before you compare tools.

What Zapier does not do here: there is no action to delete a contact or a playlist, and nothing to build or edit a playlist's content. You create playlists inside Nteraction, then Zapier sends them. Every send action also wants a Playlist ID and a Contact ID, so plan on a search step or a mapped value for each. If you're still weighing platforms, our Zapier review and the n8n vs Zapier comparison help you weigh the platforms.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words cover everything on this page. Each one is explained once, here, then used as is.

Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for it, for example a new Nteraction contact.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, such as sending a playlist by SMS.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan's allowance is a count of those.
Polling vs instant trigger
A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant one is reported by the app itself the moment it happens. Every Nteraction trigger is instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and quietly stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists, like a contact or a playlist, so later steps can reuse what it found.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger plus one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Nteraction Zap really costs

Nteraction is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only on actions.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • TriggerCosts nothing
  • Failed actionNot counted
  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan

The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier waiting for events. Each action that succeeds counts once, so a Zap with two actions costs twice as much per run as a Zap with one. An action that fails is not counted, so a broken step costs you time, not tasks. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps per Zap: add Find Playlist or a filter and you need a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your Nteraction account

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Nteraction account linked once, then reused by every step that touches Nteraction.

  2. 02

    Pick Nteraction

Type Nteraction in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab then opens on the Nteraction sign-in screen.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in with your Nteraction account and allow Zapier to use it. You need an account of your own, plus read or write rights on any contacts and playlists you don't own but want the Zap to handle.

First Zap

Your first Zap: onboard every new contact

GoalEach new Nteraction contact receives your welcome playlist by email, picked by its title.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap and choose Nteraction as the app that starts it, with Contact Created as the event. Select the connection you set up above.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts from your account, so you map the next steps on a real person rather than an empty template.

  3. 03

    Find the playlist

Add Find Playlist and type the title of your welcome playlist. It returns the Playlist ID, which saves you from copying it off the edit screen by hand.

  4. 04

    Send it

Add Email Playlist. Map the Playlist ID from the search, and the contact from the trigger into Contact ID. Both fields are required.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step and read what came back. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. With three steps, this Zap needs a paid plan.

Triggers

The 8 Nteraction triggers

8 events start a Zap when something happens in Nteraction, and 8 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Contact Created

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new contact has been created in Nteraction.”

Starts your Zap as soon as someone new is added to your Nteraction contacts, whether by hand, by import or by another Zap. It's the natural entry point for any welcome sequence.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a new sign-up should get an onboarding playlist or land in your CRM without anyone touching a keyboard.
Watch out
if another Zap uses Create Contact on the same account, each contact it adds sets this one off too.
2

Contact Resubscribed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Contact resubscribes to email.”

Fires when a contact opts back in to email after having unsubscribed. Small event, big signal: that person chose to hear from you again.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
lift the suppression flag in your mailing tool or spreadsheet, so the comeback is reflected everywhere and not only in Nteraction.
Watch out
this covers email consent only; it says nothing about SMS or WhatsApp sends.
3

Contact Unsubscribed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a Contact unsubscribes from emails.”

Reacts to a contact opting out of your emails. Use it to stop other tools from writing to someone who has said no.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
your sales team works from a separate CRM and should see the opt-out before the next manual follow-up goes out.
Watch out
the Zap only sees opt-outs made after it is switched on; older ones stay where they are and need a one-off cleanup.
4

Contact Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a contact is updated.”

Goes off whenever an existing contact record changes in Nteraction. Handy to keep a second copy of your contact base in step with the first.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a rep corrects a name or a detail in Nteraction and the change must reach your CRM too.
Watch out
never pair it with Update Contact on the same account, or each edit triggers another edit and your tasks drain in a loop.
6

Playlist Opened

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a playlist is opened.”

Tells your Zap that someone has just opened a playlist you sent. It's the first proof your content reached a human and not a spam folder.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
log the open on the deal in your CRM so the next call starts from what the prospect actually looked at.
Watch out
busy playlists produce many opens, and every action behind this trigger costs a task each time.
7

Playlist Sent

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a playlist is sent from Nteraction.”

Runs each time Nteraction sends out a playlist. Think of it as your outbound log: who received what, recorded where your team already works.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
add a row to a tracking sheet so managers see send volume without logging in to Nteraction.
Watch out
a Zap that sends a playlist through one of the send actions will set this off as well, so keep the two ideas apart.
8

Playlist Shared

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a playlist is shared by a contact.”

Picks up the moment a contact passes one of your playlists on to someone else. That forward is free word of mouth, and usually a new name worth knowing.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
flag the sharing contact as an advocate in your CRM, or thank them through your usual channel.
Watch out
shares that happened before the Zap was published are never picked up, so start it before your next campaign.
Actions

The 11 Nteraction actions

Nteraction gives you 11 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Bulk Email Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via Email to multiple contacts.”

Emails the same playlist to several contacts in one step instead of one Zap run per person.

When to use it
a whole cohort, such as everyone registered for one webinar, should get the replay together.
Watch out
the field is Contacts IDs, plural, and required; you pass a list of contact IDs, not email addresses.
2

Bulk SMS Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via SMS to multiple contacts.”

Texts one playlist to a group of contacts at once.

When to use it
a store team or a shift needs the same short briefing on their phones before opening.
Watch out
you need both the Playlist ID and the list of Contacts IDs; Find Contact turns an email into an ID.
3

Bulk WhatsApp Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via WhatsApp to multiple contacts.”

Sends a single playlist to many contacts through WhatsApp in one go.

When to use it
a product update or a policy change must reach a group that mostly reads WhatsApp.
Watch out
without a valid Playlist ID and Contacts IDs the whole step fails, and nobody receives anything.
4

Create Contact

Action

In Zapier“Creates a Contact.”

Adds a person to your Nteraction contacts from data another app captured, such as a form or a booking tool.

When to use it
new leads should be ready to receive playlists the moment they sign up elsewhere.
Watch out
First Name and Last Name are both required, so a form that only asks for an email will fail here.
5

Email Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via Email.”

Sends one playlist to one contact by email, straight from Nteraction.

When to use it
a single event, like a demo booked, deserves a tailored playlist for that one person.
Watch out
it needs the Playlist ID and the Contact ID; Find Playlist and Find Contact return both if you don't have them at hand.
6

External Email Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Facilitates the external sending of a Playlist. An external send is logged in Nteraction and sample content returned for that send.”

Logs a send in Nteraction without Nteraction sending it, and returns sample content you then deliver through your own email tool.

When to use it
your emails must leave from your usual sending platform, but you still want Nteraction to track the playlist.
Watch out
nothing reaches the contact until a later step of your Zap actually sends it.
7

External SMS Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Facilitates the external sending of a Playlist via SMS. An external send is logged in Nteraction and sample content returned for that send.”

Records an SMS send of a playlist in Nteraction and hands back sample content for your own texting service to deliver.

When to use it
you already pay for an SMS provider and want to keep it.
Watch out
that makes at least two actions, so a multi-step Zap and a paid plan.
8

External WhatsApp Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Facilitates the external sending of a Playlist via WhatsApp. An external send is logged in Nteraction and sample content returned for that send.”

Registers a WhatsApp send in Nteraction and returns sample content, leaving the delivery itself to another WhatsApp tool in your Zap.

When to use it
your WhatsApp conversations run through a dedicated messaging platform.
Watch out
Playlist ID and Contact ID are still required even though Nteraction doesn't deliver the message.
9

SMS Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via SMS.”

Delivers a playlist to a single contact as a text message rather than an email.

When to use it
field staff or customers read their phone faster than their inbox, for instance on the day of an appointment.
Watch out
Playlist ID and Contact ID are required, exactly as for the email version.
10

Update Contact

Action

In Zapier“Updates a Contact.”

Changes an existing Nteraction contact. You point at the record by its ID and pass the new values.

When to use it
your CRM is the master record and Nteraction should follow its corrections.
Watch out
ID, First Name and Last Name are all required, even when only one of them changes; get the ID through Find Contact.
11

WhatsApp Playlist

Action

In Zapier“Sends a Playlist via WhatsApp.”

Pushes a playlist to one contact over WhatsApp, for audiences that live in that app.

When to use it
your customers already talk to you on WhatsApp and ignore marketing email.
Watch out
the step stops without a Playlist ID and a Contact ID, so map both before testing.
Searches

The 2 Nteraction searches

2 search steps look for data that already exists in Nteraction, so a later step can use it.

Searches sit at the bottom of the action list in the editor, under the SEARCH heading of Action event. Here they mostly turn something readable, a title or an email, into the ID every send action requires. Some send fields also show + Add search step, which inserts the search right before the current step and wires the result in for you.

1

Find Contact

Search

In Zapier“Finds a Contact”

Looks up an existing Nteraction contact, for example from an email address, and returns the matching Contact IDs for the next steps.

When to use it
a form sends you an email address and you need the ID before any send action can run.
Watch out
several contacts may match; decide with the setting above whether the Zap keeps the first one.
2

Find Playlist

Search

In Zapier“Finds a Playlist”

Finds a playlist by its title and hands back the Playlist ID, so you never copy it off the edit screen again.

When to use it
the same Zap sends a different playlist depending on the case and you'd rather work with titles.
Watch out
if no playlist matches the title, the Zap stops there unless you switch on the setting above.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that depended on it. Switched on, the Zap continues with nothing in hand.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
Ticking this box turns a search into a find-or-create. Nteraction offers no such variant, so you won't see it on these two searches.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When a Nteraction Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Nteraction, so the failures below are Zapier's general ones, applied to this app.

Each case below names the trap and how to avoid it. When a Zap still won't behave, our Zapier troubleshooting service takes it from there.

  • Old contacts are ignored

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts and sends that already existed are never picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • The contact loop

Contact Updated plus Update Contact on the same account: each edit fires the trigger, which edits again. The Zap runs in circles and burns through your tasks.
  • A bulk import gets held back

Importing a large list fires Contact Created for every row at once. Zapier's flood protection can hold back such a sudden batch instead of running it.
  • The free plan stops at two steps

Adding Find Playlist, Find Contact or a filter makes the Zap multi-step. On the free plan you can't publish it until you move to a paid plan.

FAQ

Nteraction Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Nteraction Zapier integration free?
Yes, within the limits of the free plan. Nteraction is not a premium app, so you can connect it without paying. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap is limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. That covers a Contact Created to Email Playlist Zap. As soon as you add Find Playlist, Find Contact, a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Only actions that succeed are counted.
02How many tasks does a Nteraction Zap use?
One task per action that completes successfully, nothing else. The trigger is free, and so is Zapier waiting for new events. A two-step Zap that emails a playlist costs one task per new contact. Add a second action and each run counts two tasks. A failed action is not counted. The trap is volume: triggers like Playlist Opened can fire often on a popular playlist, and each run multiplies by the number of actions behind it.
03Does Nteraction trigger Zaps in real time?
Yes. All eight Nteraction triggers are instant: the app tells Zapier the moment an event happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan. The plan grid of check intervals (15 minutes on Free, down to 1 minute on Team and Enterprise) only applies to polling triggers, and Nteraction has none. In the editor, an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The type comes from the app itself and cannot be changed from Zapier.
04What do you need to connect Nteraction to Zapier?
An Nteraction account of your own, plus read or write access on any contacts or playlists you don't own but want the Zap to touch. In Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, pick Nteraction, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. Then check one practical point: send actions require a Playlist ID and a Contact ID, which live on the Playlist edit screen and the Contact page, so your login should be able to open both.
05Where are the Playlist ID and Contact ID in Nteraction?
In Nteraction, the Playlist ID sits in the Playlist Properties section at the bottom of the metadata panel on the playlist edit screen. The Contact ID is in the top left metadata panel of the Contact page. Copying them by hand works for a fixed Zap. For anything dynamic, use the searches: Find Playlist turns a title into a Playlist ID, and Find Contact turns an email address into a Contact ID. Keep in mind that each search adds a step, which needs a paid plan.
06What if the Nteraction operation you want doesn't exist?
Then the Zap has to work around it, or the job belongs elsewhere. Nteraction on Zapier has no action to delete a contact or a playlist, and none to build or edit playlist content: those stay in Nteraction itself. Sometimes another step covers the gap, such as External Email Playlist paired with your own sending tool. When nothing does, check whether Make or n8n offers that operation for Nteraction before you build a workaround.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Nteraction?
It depends on your criteria rather than on a winner. Zapier already offers Nteraction with 8 instant triggers, 11 actions and 2 searches, ready to use without code, and the free plan covers two-step Zaps. That makes it the shortest path to a working setup. If you need many steps or heavy volume, compare the task pricing and the available connectors on Make and n8n before committing, since costs grow with every successful action on Zapier.
