Ohmylead Zapier integrationAutomate Ohmylead with Zapier.

The Ohmylead Zapier integration is small: 1 trigger and 1 action, no search. The trigger is instant, so a lead that changes status starts your Zap right away, even on the free plan. Here is what both operations do, what they cost and where they trip people up.

Overview

What the Ohmylead Zapier integration really covers

Ohmylead collects leads from your different sources in one platform so your team can follow up quickly, before they move on to a CRM or an email tool. On Zapier it offers exactly two moves: start an automation when a lead's status changes, and add a new lead into Ohmylead from any other app.

Two operations still cover the core of a lead workflow. A hand-off when a lead is ready: Lead Status fires when a lead moves to the status you choose, so the next tool hears about qualified leads only, not every contact that arrived. One inbox for every source: Create Lead takes a sign-up from a form, a webinar tool or a spreadsheet row and adds it to Ohmylead with its own source name, so you can tell where each lead came from. A relay between workspaces: chained together, the two let a lead qualified in one workspace show up as a fresh lead in another.

What Zapier does not do for Ohmylead: it cannot update or delete a lead, it cannot change a status for you, and there is no search step to look up an existing lead before acting. If your process needs any of those from outside Ohmylead, this integration stops short.

Vocabulary

Zapier words you will meet on this page

Seven terms, explained once in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier just waits for it to happen.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that creates, writes or sends something for you in an app.
Task
What Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is counted in tasks.
Polling vs instant
Zapier checks a polling trigger on a timer; an instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment it happens. Ohmylead's is instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when the data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your Ohmylead account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Ohmylead step in your Zaps.
Cost

What an Ohmylead Zap costs

Ohmylead is open to the free plan: Zapier does not reserve it for paid accounts. The trigger never costs a task, and waiting for a status change costs nothing either.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Free plan limitTwo steps: one trigger, one action
  • Paid plan required? No, Ohmylead runs on the free plan
  • Ohmylead triggerInstant, plan interval does not apply

Each successful action counts as one task; one that fails is not billed. On the free plan, a Zap holds two steps, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The polling grid below does not apply to Ohmylead, since its only trigger is instant. In practice, a plain Lead Status to Create Lead Zap costs one task per lead handed over, and every extra action adds one more task to each run.

Connect

Connect Ohmylead to Zapier

  1. 01

    Start from the Apps page

Open Apps in your Zapier account and click + Add connection. You need an Ohmylead account already; Zapier links to it and never creates one for you. Keep its login at hand.

  2. 02

    Pick Ohmylead

Search for Ohmylead in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on Ohmylead's side, and that is where you sign in. Keep Zapier open in the first tab.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Ohmylead in that tab and let Zapier reach your account. The connection now sits in your Apps list, ready for both the trigger and the action.

First Zap

Your first Ohmylead Zap: pass qualified leads to a second workspace

GoalWhen a lead reaches the status you choose in your marketing workspace, it lands as a new lead in your sales workspace, ready for follow-up.

  1. 01

    Build: choose the trigger

Create a Zap, pick Ohmylead and the Lead Status event. Select your connection, the marketing workspace and the status that means a lead is ready.

  2. 02

    Test on real leads

Run the test. Zapier pulls the three most recent matching leads from the account; pick a real one so the mapping in the next steps uses true values.

  3. 03

    Add a filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, and let the Zap go on only when the lead has an email, since Create Lead requires one. This makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Create Lead

Add Ohmylead again with Create Lead. Choose the sales workspace, map the email, and give this Zap a source name of its own.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the action and check the lead in the sales workspace. If it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, it runs on its own.

Triggers

Ohmylead trigger: 1 instant event

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Ohmylead, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Lead Status

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new support ticket is created.”

Starts a Zap when a lead in Ohmylead moves to the status you selected while setting it up. You pick both the workspace and the status, so one Zap watches one stage of your pipeline, and leads that sit elsewhere never set it off.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
send a lead to your CRM or alert the right salesperson the moment marketing marks it as ready, instead of exporting a list at the end of the week.
Watch out
the official description on Zapier talks about support tickets, which does not match the name; trust the status and workspace you pick, and test with a real lead.
Actions

Ohmylead action: add a lead from any app

Ohmylead gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Lead

Action

In Zapier“Creates a Ticket”

Adds a new lead to the Ohmylead workspace you choose, from whatever app sits upstream. It needs an email and a lead source name, which is how Ohmylead labels where the lead came from.

When to use it
a webinar sign-up, a form or a new spreadsheet row should land in Ohmylead for quick follow-up.
Watch out
give every Zap its own source name; Ohmylead asks for a unique one per Zap.
When it breaks

When an Ohmylead Zap breaks

Zapier lists no help article and no rate limit specific to Ohmylead. The failures come from general Zapier behaviour and from the two required fields.

For a hand with a Zap that keeps failing, start from our Zapier troubleshooting page. These four cases cover most surprises with Ohmylead.

  • No backlog

A Zap only reacts to status changes after it is published. Leads that reached the status before that will never fire it; moving them is a separate job.
  • The relay loop

Lead Status plus Create Lead on the same workspace can feed itself: a lead created by the Zap may reach the watched status and start it again, eating tasks.
  • Bulk imports held back

Move a big batch of leads to a status at once and the trigger returns a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.
  • Shared source names

Create Lead asks for a different lead source name in every Zap. Copy a Zap without changing it and you break that rule; rename it before publishing.

FAQ

Ohmylead Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Ohmylead Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan, as long as the Zap stays at two steps. Zapier does not reserve Ohmylead for paid accounts, so a free plan with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps can use it. The catch is the shape of the Zap: one trigger and one action, nothing more. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The trigger itself never costs a task.
02How many tasks does an Ohmylead Zap use?
One task each time an action completes, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap that listens to Lead Status and then runs Create Lead costs one task per lead that reaches the chosen status. A second action doubles that. An action that fails is not billed against your plan. Waiting for status changes is free too, however many leads move in a day, because only completed actions count toward your monthly allowance.
03Is the Ohmylead trigger real time?
Yes. Lead Status is an instant trigger: Ohmylead tells Zapier as soon as a lead reaches the status you picked, and the Zap starts straight away on every plan, the free one included. The polling intervals on Zapier's pricing grid only concern triggers Zapier has to check on a timer, which is not the case here. In the editor, a Zap built on this trigger shows a lightning bolt next to it.
04What does it take to connect Ohmylead to Zapier?
An existing Ohmylead account with access to the workspaces your Zaps will use. From the Apps page in Zapier, add a connection, pick Ohmylead, sign in on Ohmylead's side and grant access. Both the trigger and the action then ask for a workspace in a required field, so an account that cannot see your team's workspace will not be able to use it, even though the connection itself works fine.
05Why does Create Lead ask for a unique source name?
Because the field itself asks for it: in Create Lead, the Lead Sources Name box tells you to name each Zap differently. That name is required, like the email and the workspace, so the action will not run without it. The simplest habit is to pick a name that describes the upstream app or campaign, such as the form or webinar tool feeding this Zap, set it once, and never reuse it in a second Zap. If you build a new Zap by copying an old one, change that name before you publish.
06What if the Ohmylead operation needed is not in Zapier?
Then this integration cannot do it as published. The editor offers two operations only, Lead Status and Create Lead, with no way to update a lead, delete it, change its status or search for an existing one. Sometimes a different design gets around it, for example acting on the lead in the next tool instead. Otherwise, handle that step inside Ohmylead or check whether another automation platform exposes more of it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Ohmylead?
It depends on your criteria. Zapier has a ready Ohmylead integration with an instant trigger and the gentlest setup, but multi-step Zaps need a paid plan and you pay per completed action. Make and n8n bill differently and leave more room for branching logic, at the price of a steeper learning curve. Start by checking which Ohmylead operations each platform actually exposes, then compare how each one would bill your expected lead volume.
