Overview

What the OneWayLoyalty Zapier integration does for a shop

The OneWayLoyalty Zapier integration lets the tools where you record sales feed your OneWayLoyalty loyalty programme, the platform that turns one-off buyers into returning members with memberships and digital rewards. Zapier runs small automations called Zaps. Here, OneWayLoyalty is always the destination of the Zap.

Points for every online order. A new order in your online shop starts the Zap, and Add Point records the amount spent against the member's mobile number, with no copy at the till.

Bookings that count too. A paid appointment in a booking tool can credit the same member, so a salon or a studio rewards visits the way a shop rewards baskets.

One programme across several sales channels. Orders from a marketplace, invoices from a billing tool and sales from the shop can all end in the same Add Point step, so every channel credits the same programme.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. OneWayLoyalty has no trigger on Zapier, so no Zap can start from a new member, a reward or a points balance. There is no search, no action to remove points, and no way to read a member's balance. A Zap also ignores every sale recorded before you switched it on.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back all over this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. OneWayLoyalty has none, so the trigger is always a sale or booking in another tool.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, here adding points in OneWayLoyalty.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan gives you a set number of them.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen yet.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check by Zapier.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
Cost

What a OneWayLoyalty Zap really costs

OneWayLoyalty is not reserved for paid plans: it works on Zapier's free plan. What you spend is tasks, and nothing else is billed.

  • Trigger checkNo task
  • Successful Add Point1 task
  • Failed actionNot counted
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • OneWayLoyalty on the free planAvailable

The trigger of the sales app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. Each Add Point that goes through counts as one task, and one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month, so 100 credited sales at most, and stops at two steps: one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. How fast points land depends on the trigger you pick, and on the grid below when it is a polling one.

Connect

Connect OneWayLoyalty to Zapier in 3 steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your OneWayLoyalty account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that touches OneWayLoyalty.

  2. 02

    Pick OneWayLoyalty

Type OneWayLoyalty in the search box of the dialog, select it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the OneWayLoyalty side so you can sign in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to OneWayLoyalty in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. Any programme you do not own yourself but want a Zap to credit needs write access for your account first.

First Zap

Build your first OneWayLoyalty Zap

GoalWhen a new order comes into the online shop, credit the buyer in OneWayLoyalty, but only for orders that carry a mobile number.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Start a new Zap and choose the app that starts it, here your online shop and its new-order event. OneWayLoyalty has no trigger, so the Zap always opens on another tool.

  2. 02

    Test it on real data

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so the rest of the Zap is set up on a real order, not an empty sample.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare with. A text rule only works on text.

  4. 04

    Add Add Point

Add OneWayLoyalty with Add Point as the action, then map the three required fields from the order: the buyer's Mobile number, their Name and the Amount spent.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the action with 0000 as the Mobile and read what came back. When it looks right, map the real number and click Publish. With its filter, this Zap needs a paid plan.

Actions

The OneWayLoyalty action on Zapier

OneWayLoyalty gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Point

Action

In Zapier“Add point (simplified)”

Add Point credits a member of your programme with the amount they just spent. It identifies the member by their Mobile number and also takes their Name and the Amount, and all three fields are required.

When to use it
a coffee roaster selling online wants each order to count toward the same rewards as purchases made in the shop.
Watch out
an order without a mobile number cannot fill the required field, so the action fails for that sale.
When it breaks

When a OneWayLoyalty Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to OneWayLoyalty and lists no limit of its own for it. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap, plus one trap that comes from the required fields of Add Point.

Read the four cases below before you switch the Zap on. If one catches you anyway, there is the Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Sales without a mobile number

Add Point needs a Mobile number. A sale that arrives without one cannot be credited, and the action fails; a filter stops those sales before they reach OneWayLoyalty.
  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Orders placed before that never earn points through it, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A sudden flood of orders

After a bulk import or a migration in the shop, a trigger that suddenly returns a huge batch can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
  • Why a sale is not credited twice

On a polling trigger Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same order does not start the Zap again and does not credit the member a second time.

FAQ

OneWayLoyalty and Zapier: common questions

01Is the OneWayLoyalty Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as the Zap stays at two steps. OneWayLoyalty is not reserved for paid plans, so it runs on Zapier's free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps. The limit is the shape of the Zap: one trigger from another app, then Add Point, nothing more. Add a filter, for example to skip sales without a mobile number, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. On the free plan, a polling trigger is checked every 15 minutes.
02How many tasks does a OneWayLoyalty Zap use?
One per sale credited. The trigger of the sales app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. Each Add Point that goes through counts as one task, and one that fails, for example on a missing mobile number, is not counted. On the free plan, 100 tasks a month therefore means at most 100 credited sales. If the Zap also does something else, such as sending a thank-you message, each successful action counts on its own.
03How can a OneWayLoyalty Zap start without a OneWayLoyalty trigger?
It starts in the app where the sale happens. OneWayLoyalty has no trigger on Zapier, so the first step is always an event elsewhere: a new order, a paid invoice, a confirmed booking. How fast points land depends on that trigger. If it is instant, the app reports the sale and the Zap runs straight away, whatever the plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks every 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional and 1 on Team and Enterprise.
04What does connecting OneWayLoyalty to Zapier require?
A OneWayLoyalty account you can sign in with, and a Zapier account. You add the connection from the Apps page with + Add connection, pick OneWayLoyalty, sign in to it in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Anything you do not own but want a Zap to write into needs write access for your account. Then make sure the starting app gives you a mobile number, a name and an amount, the three fields Add Point requires.
05Why does Add Point fail on some orders?
Most often because a required field is empty. Add Point needs the member's Mobile number, their Name and the Amount spent, and a sale that arrives without a mobile number cannot fill the first one. The action then fails for that order, which costs no task but credits no points either. Make the phone field mandatory at checkout if your shop allows it, or add a filter that lets only sales with a mobile number through. For tests, the Mobile field accepts 0000.
06What if the OneWayLoyalty action you need is not on Zapier?
Then this integration cannot do it, and no setting will add it. OneWayLoyalty on Zapier offers 1 action, Add Point, with no trigger and no search. Removing points after a refund, reading a member's balance or reacting to a reward is out of reach. Sometimes the gap closes upstream: a filter keeps refunded or test orders away from Add Point. Past that, the work stays manual, inside OneWayLoyalty itself, for whoever runs the programme.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for OneWayLoyalty?
It depends on criteria, not on a ranking. First, the shape of your automations: if one trigger and Add Point cover the need, the Zapier free plan handles it with 100 tasks a month. Second, volume: each credited sale is a task, so a busy shop adds up fast. Third, what is missing: OneWayLoyalty on Zapier has no trigger, no search and no way to remove points. Check that a single Add Point action is enough, then hold the other tools to the same three criteria.
