OTPLESS Zapier integrationAutomate OTPLESS with Zapier.
The OTPLESS Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 0 actions and no search. That single trigger is instant: each signup or sign-in through OTPLESS on your site or app can start a Zap, and the rest of the work happens in your other tools.

What the OTPLESS Zapier integration actually does
OTPLESS lets people sign up or log in to your website or app without a password or a one-time code, through social logins. Connected to Zapier, it does one job: it reports each new signup or sign-in, so your other tools learn about the user right away.
Three results you can build from that one event. A user list that keeps itself current: New User Signin starts the Zap and a spreadsheet action adds a row per signup. A CRM record from the first login: the same trigger feeds a CRM action, so sales sees a new account without exporting anything. A team alert on new signups: a chat action posts a message, handy while a product is young and every account counts.
The good news: the trigger is instant, so none of this waits for a timed check, even on the free plan.
What Zapier does not do with OTPLESS. There is no action and no search: a Zap cannot create, block or look up a user in OTPLESS. The flow only goes one way, out of OTPLESS. And the trigger does not tell a first signup from a returning sign-in by its name alone, which matters for your task count and for duplicate rows.

Zapier words, in plain English
Seven words come back across this page. Here they are once.
- Zap
- An automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, here a signup or sign-in. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something. With OTPLESS, actions live in other apps.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan allowance is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens, as with OTPLESS.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so later steps can use it. OTPLESS offers none.
What an OTPLESS Zap really costs
OTPLESS is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan onward. The trigger is free; the action in the other app is what you pay for.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap
- OTPLESS triggerInstant, outside the interval grid
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
- BilledEach successful action in the next app, one task
The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier waiting for new sign-ins costs nothing either. Each action that completes in the next app counts as one task, and one that fails is not billed. Since every sign-in starts the Zap, a busy login page turns into a steady flow of tasks. The free plan builds two-step Zaps only, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is for polling triggers; the OTPLESS trigger is instant and escapes it.
Connect your OTPLESS account to Zapier
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your OTPLESS account linked once to Zapier, then reused by every Zap that starts from OTPLESS.
- 02
Pick OTPLESS
Search for OTPLESS in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. A new tab opens on the OTPLESS sign-in; use the account tied to the site or app whose logins you want.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to OTPLESS in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. You need an OTPLESS account, plus read or write rights on anything you do not own but want a Zap to touch.
Your first OTPLESS Zap, step by step
GoalAdd a spreadsheet row for each OTPLESS sign-in that passes your condition.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Build a new Zap, choose OTPLESS as the app and
New User Signinas the event, then select your connection. The trigger has no required field. - 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent sign-ins of the account, so you map the next steps on a real user, not a guess.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter: the field to check, the rule and the value. A text rule only works on text, so pick the one that suits the field.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet action
Pick your spreadsheet app and its new-row action, choose the sheet, then map the columns to the details that came with the sign-in.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action and check the row appears. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. Because of the filter, this Zap needs a paid plan.
The OTPLESS trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in OTPLESS, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New User Signin
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there's a new user signup or sign in on your website or application using otpless.”
Starts your Zap each time someone signs up or signs in on your website or app through OTPLESS. It is the only way into Zapier for this app, so every automation you build begins with a user arriving at your login screen.
When an OTPLESS Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article and no documented limit to OTPLESS. What breaks comes from the way the trigger works and from general Zapier behavior.
Three cases to check before you publish. For anything else, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Your existing users are not sent
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. People who signed up before are never picked up; moving that base is a separate job.Returning users fill the sheet
The trigger covers sign-ins as well as signups. Without a filter, a regular user adds a row or a CRM update at each login, and each one costs a task.A sudden burst gets held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running every item.
