Perkstar Zapier integrationAutomate Perkstar with Zapier.
The Perkstar Zapier integration gives you 29 triggers, 10 actions and 2 searches. Every trigger is instant, the app works on the free plan, and the loyalty actions refuse duplicates on their own. Here is what each one does, what it costs and where it breaks.
Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

What the Perkstar Zapier integration actually does for you
Perkstar runs digital wallet passes and loyalty programs: stamp cards, points, cashback, memberships, gift cards, tickets. Plugging it into Zapier means two things. Whatever happens on a card (a booking, a redemption, a renewal) can start work in your other tools, and what happens elsewhere (a sale, a visit) can land on the right card without anyone typing it in.
Three results people usually build first. A stamp per visit: a booking marked attended adds a stamp through Add Stamp or Visit, so the card fills itself. Points from your shop: an order paid elsewhere becomes points through Award Points, or a purchase amount through Record Purchase on a cashback or discount card. And a win-back nudge: when Customer Card Expired or Membership Cancelled fires, the Zap can follow up, for instance with Send Wallet Push straight to the pass on the customer's phone.
One detail makes this app easier than most. All 29 triggers are instant, so the free plan's waiting time between checks never applies here. Another one protects you: every action that writes to a card asks for a stable source ID and refuses to record the same one twice, so a replayed Zap does not double the points.
What Zapier does not do with Perkstar: there is no action to create or edit a card, design a pass, delete a customer or start a broadcast. Those stay inside Perkstar. The integration only moves customers, enrolments and transactions. Redemptions also stop at whole-number balances on Stamp, Points, Cashback or Multipass cards; coupons, memberships, discounts, gift cards and tickets follow their own flows that Zapier does not reach.
Before you commit, two reads help put Zapier in context: Zapier review and Make vs Zapier.
Zapier vocabulary, in plain words
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are once, so the rest reads easily.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts your Zap, like a booking marked attended in Perkstar. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or changes something for you, such as adding points to a card.
- Task
- What Zapier bills you for: one action your Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan is a count of these.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment it happens. Perkstar only has instant ones.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and quietly stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists, a customer for example, so the next steps can use what it found.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Perkstar Zap really costs
Perkstar is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. The trigger never costs anything; only an action that succeeds counts as a task.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan (marked beta by Zapier)
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Trigger cost0 tasks
- Instant triggers29 of 29
An action that fails is not billed. A Zap with three actions uses three tasks each time it runs, so a chain of stamp, push and update adds up fast. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter, a search or a second action and you need a paid plan. The polling grid below does not touch Perkstar, whose triggers are all instant. Only completed actions ever show up on the bill.
Connect Perkstar to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need a Perkstar account first, plus access to any program you do not own yourself but want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Perkstar
Type Perkstar in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Perkstar side: keep it open, the next step happens there.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Sign in to Perkstar in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved once, and every Perkstar step in every Zap reuses it. No need to redo it per Zap.
Your first Zap: a stamp and a push after each visit
GoalWhen a booking is marked attended, add a stamp to the customer's card, then send a wallet push to their pass.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Perkstar as the app and Booking Attended as the event, then select your Perkstar connection. Any of the 29 triggers is set up the same way.
- 02
Test it on a real booking
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from your account, so pick a real booking to map the next steps against.
- 03
Add the stamp
Add Add Stamp or Visit. Choose how to find the customer, map the lookup value, pick the stamp card, enter 1, and map the booking reference as Source activity ID.
- 04
Find the pass, then push
Add Find Enrolment or Pass for the same card, then Send Wallet Push with a message of 180 characters or less. The search makes this a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each step and read what came back before moving on. When every step looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 29 Perkstar triggers
29 events start a Zap when something happens in Perkstar, and 29 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Automation Fired
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an automated-message firing is recorded.”
Each time one of your Perkstar automated messages goes out, Zapier gets a record of that firing. It is the hook for anything you want to happen alongside an automated campaign, without rebuilding the campaign logic in Zapier.
Booking Attended
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a booking is marked attended.”
A booking gets marked as attended, and the Zap starts. This is the cleanest signal that a customer actually showed up, which makes it the natural starting point for visit-based rewards.
Booking Cancelled
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a booking is cancelled.”
Cancelled bookings land in Zapier here. You get the event the instant a customer or your staff calls off an appointment, which gives you a chance to fill the slot or follow up.
Booking Confirmed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a booking is confirmed.”
Fires when a booking moves to confirmed. Unlike Booking Created, it waits for the confirmation step, so you only act on appointments that are actually locked in.
Booking Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a booking is created.”
The earliest booking signal Perkstar sends: a new booking exists, confirmed or not. It suits anything that should start the moment a request comes in rather than once it is validated.
Booking Marked as No-Show
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a booking is marked as a no-show.”
When staff flag a booking as a no-show, this trigger passes it on. It is the only booking event that tells you someone did not come, which the attended and cancelled triggers cannot.
Broadcast Sent
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a wallet broadcast completes delivery processing.”
Your wallet broadcast has finished going through Perkstar's delivery processing, and Zapier hears about it. The event comes at the end of processing, not when you press send.
Card Scanned
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an online scanner lookup successfully finds a customer card.”
Fires after an online scanner lookup successfully finds a customer card. A failed scan, where no card matches, does not start the Zap.
Coupon Redeemed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a coupon card is redeemed.”
Covers coupon cards specifically: the Zap starts when one is redeemed. Other kinds of rewards and vouchers come through Reward Redeemed instead.
Customer Anonymised
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer’s personal data is anonymised.”
A customer's personal data has just been anonymised in Perkstar. For privacy requests, this is the signal you need to clean the same person out of every other tool that holds a copy.
Customer Card Expired
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when an enrolment reaches its effective card expiry, once per expiry instant; extending it can produce a later event.”
When an enrolment reaches its card expiry date, this event goes out, once per expiry. Extending the card can later produce a new expiry event for the same customer.
Customer Lifecycle Group Changed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer moves between lifecycle groups, not when a saved segment changes.”
Customers move between lifecycle groups in Perkstar, and each move reaches Zapier. It reacts to those built-in lifecycle groups, not to changes in a saved segment you built yourself.
Customer Unenrolled
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer’s access to a loyalty card ends.”
A customer's access to a loyalty card has ended. Whatever the reason on the Perkstar side, the Zap gets the moment the link between that person and that card is cut.
Feedback Submitted
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer submits feedback for a loyalty card.”
Customers can leave feedback on a loyalty card, and every new piece arrives here. It is the shortest path from a comment on a pass to someone who can answer it.
Gift Card Purchased
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a paid gift card purchase is fulfilled.”
Only paid gift card purchases count here, and only once they are fulfilled. An abandoned or unpaid order never reaches the Zap.
Gift Card Redeemed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when value is spent from a gift card.”
Value has just been spent from a gift card. Each spend is its own event, so a card used in three visits shows up three times.
Loyalty Tier Changed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer’s status, cashback, or discount tier changes.”
Status, cashback or discount tier: when any of them changes for a customer, Zapier knows. It works in both directions, up and down.
Membership Cancelled
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a recurring membership is cancelled or expires incomplete.”
A recurring membership that is cancelled, or that expires incomplete, ends up here. Both cases mean recurring revenue just stopped.
Membership Purchased
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a recurring or one-off membership first activates.”
The first activation of a membership, recurring or one-off. Renewals do not come through here; they have their own trigger.
Membership Renewed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a recurring membership renews for a new billing period.”
Each time a recurring membership rolls into a new billing period, the Zap starts. It tracks loyalty in money terms: who stays, period after period.
Multipass Purchased
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a multipass is purchased or topped up.”
Multipasses are bundles of prepaid visits, and this trigger catches both a new purchase and a top-up of an existing one.
New Customer Enrolment
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer is enrolled in a loyalty card.”
Somebody just joined one of your loyalty cards. It is the classic onboarding trigger, the right moment to welcome someone to the card.
New Customer Referral
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when one customer refers another customer to a loyalty card.”
One customer has brought another to a loyalty card. Zapier gets the referral as a single event, which is enough to reward the person who spread the word.
New Loyalty Transaction
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a loyalty transaction is committed.”
The broadest trigger of the app: any loyalty transaction that gets committed. Stamps, points, purchases and redemptions all pass through here.
Reward Redeemed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a reward, offer, voucher, or milestone is redeemed.”
A reward, an offer, a voucher or a milestone has been claimed by a customer. It covers every redemption that is not a coupon card.
Ticket Cancelled
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a ticket event is cancelled.”
This one concerns the event, not a single ticket: it fires when a ticketed event is cancelled. Every buyer is affected at once.
Ticket Purchased
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a paid ticket purchase is fulfilled.”
A paid ticket purchase has been fulfilled. Free or unpaid orders do not count, so what reaches Zapier is money you actually took.
Ticket Refunded
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a ticket payment is refunded or charged back.”
A ticket payment has been refunded or charged back. Both end in the same place for you: the seat is free and the money is gone.
Wallet Pass Installed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a customer’s Apple or Google Wallet pass installation is first observed; Google observation is periodic and can be delayed by provider cadence or projector backlog.”
Perkstar reports the first time it observes a customer's pass installed in Apple or Google Wallet. That is the proof the card is now sitting on their phone.
The 10 Perkstar actions
Perkstar gives you 10 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Add Stamp or Visit
ActionIn Zapier“Adds one or more stamps or visits to a customer’s loyalty card.”
Adds stamps or visits to an active Stamp or Multipass card, usually one at a time.
Award Points
ActionIn Zapier“Awards a specific number of points to a customer.”
Credits a chosen number of points to a customer on an active Points card. Fractional points are accepted, to two decimals, when the card allows them.
Create Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a customer; a matching external reference safely returns the existing record.”
Adds a customer to Perkstar. If a customer with the same external reference already exists, Perkstar hands back that record instead of creating a twin.
Enrol Customer in a Card
ActionIn Zapier“Enrols a customer in a loyalty card, creating the customer first when needed.”
Puts a customer on a loyalty card, and can create the customer first when the lookup finds nobody.
Record Loyalty Activity
ActionIn Zapier“Records a purchase, visit, stamp, points award, discount purchase, or redemption.”
The all-purpose recorder: one action for a purchase, a visit, a stamp, a points award, a discount purchase or a redemption, picked in Activity type.
Record Purchase
ActionIn Zapier“Records a purchase amount on a customer’s cashback or discount card.”
Logs a purchase amount on a Cashback or Discount card so the customer earns what the card promises.
Redeem Loyalty Balance
ActionIn Zapier“Redeems a whole-number loyalty balance or prepaid visit from a customer’s card.”
Takes a whole-number balance or a prepaid visit off a Stamp, Points, Cashback or Multipass card. Perkstar never lets the balance go below zero.
Reverse Loyalty Transaction
ActionIn Zapier“Reverses a previously recorded loyalty transaction.”
Cancels a loyalty transaction that was already recorded, for example after an order is returned.
Send Wallet Push
ActionIn Zapier“Sends a consent-checked wallet push to a customer’s pass.”
Sends a push message to the wallet pass on a customer's phone, after Perkstar checks their consent.
Update Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Updates an existing customer.”
Changes an existing Perkstar customer, picked by Customer ID from an earlier Perkstar step. Zapier can insert a Find Customer step for you.
The 2 Perkstar searches
2 search steps look for data that already exists in Perkstar, so a later step can use it.
Searches sit at the bottom of the event list in the editor, under SEARCH. On their own they change nothing in Perkstar: they fetch a customer or an enrolment so the next step knows who to act on. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not the one you expected.
Find Customer
SearchFind or createIn Zapier“Finds a customer by customer ID, email, phone, external reference, or pass barcode.”
Looks a customer up by customer ID, email, phone, external reference or pass barcode, and hands their record to the next steps.
Find Enrolment or Pass
SearchFind or createIn Zapier“Finds a customer’s enrolment and wallet pass links by customer ID, email, phone, external reference, or pass barcode.”
Finds a customer's enrolment on a given card, plus the links to their wallet pass, using the same lookup choices as Find Customer.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nobody stops the Zap and the steps that depend on it are skipped. Turned on, the Zap continues empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet?Ticking it turns the search into a find-or-create: the setting above disappears and the step asks for what it needs to create the missing item.
- If multiple search results are found?Keep the first match (the default), stop the Zap, or hand every match to the next steps at once.
When a Perkstar Zap breaks
Zapier publishes no help article and no documented limit specific to Perkstar. What breaks is what breaks on every Zap, plus one setting of this app.
If a Zap behaves oddly, start with these four cases. For a methodical pass on a broken Zap, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Old activity is never picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Bookings, enrolments and transactions from before stay where they are; moving that history is a separate job.The Zap keeps setting itself off
Enrol a customer from a Zap that starts on New Customer Enrolment, and each run creates the next one. A loop like that burns through your task allowance quickly.A bulk import gets held back
After a big import or a migration, a trigger can suddenly send a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection may hold it back until you check and release it.Test activity running live steps
Include test events on New Loyalty Transaction and Reward Redeemed is off by default. Switched on in a live Zap, test activity starts your real actions.
