What the PHOTO iD by U Scope Zapier integration does
PHOTO iD by U Scope is a platform where inspectors photograph a site, label the pictures and turn them into photo reports. Its Zapier integration lets the rest of your tools react when something new appears in it, an assignment, a photo, a report or a ZIP file, and lets another app open an assignment for you.
Three results come up first. Reports filed without anyone touching them: New PDF Report sends each finished report to the cloud folder or the email inbox where the claim is handled. Assignments opened from your claims system: a new claim in your CRM starts Create Assignment, so the inspector finds the job ready in PHOTO iD. A full photo pack for the adjuster: New Zip File hands over the archive holding every image of an assignment, ready to store or share.
Now what Zapier does not do here. None of the six triggers is instant: Zapier asks PHOTO iD for news at the interval of your plan, so a report produced now reaches the Zap a little later. There is a single action and no search, so a Zap cannot update an assignment, find one, or edit a photo. And a Zap only sees what appears after you switch it on; older reports stay where they are.
If you are weighing Zapier against other tools, the Zapier review and Make vs Zapier pages are close by.
Zapier vocabulary, in plain words
Seven Zapier words appear all over this page. One line each, then they are used as they are.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a new PDF report in PHOTO iD. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like creating an assignment.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance counts those, never the trigger.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer, asking the app for new items. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it there the rest of the time.
- Connection
- Your PHOTO iD account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that uses PHOTO iD, trigger or action.
What a PHOTO iD Zap costs
Zapier bills tasks, and a task is one action that works. The PHOTO iD triggers never cost anything, however often Zapier checks for new photos or reports.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Zap size on freeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- Trigger checksNever billed, whatever the interval
- Premium appNo, it works on the free plan
A Zap that files each new report in your storage costs one task per report. Add an email to the adjuster and each report costs two. An action that fails is not counted. Watch New Photo in particular: if an assignment holds many pictures, a Zap on every photo uses one task per picture. PHOTO iD by U Scope is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, which builds two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
Connect PHOTO iD by U Scope to Zapier
- 01
Open your app connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You link PHOTO iD once here, and every Zap that watches or feeds PHOTO iD reuses that link.
- 02
Find PHOTO iD by U Scope
Type PHOTO iD in the search box of the dialog, pick PHOTO iD by U Scope, then click Add connection. You need an existing PHOTO iD account: Zapier does not create one.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A tab opens on PHOTO iD. Sign in, then let Zapier into the account. If the assignments you want to follow belong to a colleague, check you have read or write rights on them before building.
Your first PHOTO iD Zap
GoalEvery PDF report that meets your condition is emailed to the adjuster handling the claim.
- 01
Create the Zap, pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose PHOTO iD by U Scope as the app and New PDF Report as the event, then select the connection you added earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent reports of the account, so you map the next steps on a real report rather than an empty one.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, and set the field, the rule and the value. A text rule on text, a number rule on numbers. This step makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the email
Add your email tool and its send action, then map the report from the trigger into the message. Test it and check the email arrives as you expect.
- 05
Publish
When the test reads right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Reports produced before that are not sent; only new ones go through.
The 6 PHOTO iD by U Scope triggers
6 events start a Zap when something happens in PHOTO iD by U Scope. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Assignment
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new assignment is created.”
Starts the Zap when an assignment is created in PHOTO iD, whether someone opened it in the platform or another Zap did. It is the earliest point in the life of an inspection job you can react to.
New Labeled Photo
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new Labeled Photo is available.”
Reacts once a photo carries its label in PHOTO iD and becomes available, so the picture already says what it shows when it reaches the next app. That makes it the better pick for anything a person will read.
New PDF Report
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new PDF Report is available.”
Fires when a PDF photo report is available, the finished document that sums up an inspection. Where other triggers start a run per picture, this one waits for the report itself.
New Photo
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new Photo is created.”
Every photo created in PHOTO iD, label or no label, sets this one off. It is the rawest feed the integration offers, picture by picture, as the inspector shoots.
New Structure Template
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new template is created.”
Triggers when a new structure template is created in PHOTO iD, the model that shapes how an inspection is organised. It concerns the office team setting up the platform more than the inspectors in the field.
New Zip File
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new Zip file is available. A ZIP is a file with all images available in an assignment.”
Once a ZIP file is available, an archive holding all the images of an assignment in one piece, the Zap starts. Handy when the whole set has to move together rather than photo by photo.
The PHOTO iD by U Scope action
PHOTO iD by U Scope gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Assignment
ActionIn Zapier“Creates an Assignment in PHOTO iD”
Opens a new assignment in PHOTO iD from what another app sends, so an inspection job exists before anyone types it in. The one mandatory field is Claim Insured Name, the name of the insured party on the claim.
When a PHOTO iD Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article and no PHOTO iD specific limit. What breaks is what breaks on any app with polling triggers, and four cases cover it.
Each case comes from how Zapier itself works. If a run fails anyway, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the place to start.
Older reports are never sent
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Reports, photos and ZIP files already in PHOTO iD stay put; moving that archive is a separate job.The assignment loop
A Zap on New Assignment that also runs Create Assignment writes where its own trigger watches. It sets itself off again and again and drains your tasks.A big photo batch held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a heavy day of shooting, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back rather than run it all.No double runs on the same item
On polling triggers Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same photo, report or ZIP does not start the Zap twice.
