Sales training 2026: the 8 best programs for B2B reps and teams

We compared sales training programs and sales courses for B2B reps and teams: curriculum, format, hours, price, certificate and team fit, from official pages.

The short answer, depending on what you need. You want one rep, or a whole team, on a complete selling method without flying anyone anywhere: The Brooks Group and its IMPACT Selling seminar, six live two-hour virtual sessions, open to individuals. Your B2B team needs one structure for customer conversations: Richardson and its Consultative Selling Training, one or two days in the room or short virtual workshops. You're an account executive selling software and want a live course with a price you can budget: Winning by Design and Selling for Impact, $1,500 per person for four weekly 2-hour sessions. You need sharper discovery on a small budget: Gap Selling, from $59 a month. You want a shareable certificate and financial aid: the HubSpot Academy specialization on Coursera. Price pressure is killing your margins: Dale Carnegie and Winning with Relationship Selling. You want the Sandler method taught live in short virtual sessions: Sandler Essentials. A rep wants to learn alone, on demand, with a certificate at the end: RAIN Group's online sales training.

Sales training doesn't pay off in the room. It pays off when reps still run the method in their calls a quarter later. We compared twenty programs on what their official pages actually say: curriculum, format, hours, price, certificate, and whether they fit a team. We rank eight. Dale Carnegie is scored from its official UK page and brochure. One warning before you start: most of the big names don't publish a price; Winning by Design, Dale Carnegie's UK page, Gap Selling and RAIN Group are the exceptions. Lists that quote exact seat prices for them are usually repeating estimates, so ask every provider for a written quote per seat.

Best sales training for a complete method, open to individuals

The Brooks Group · IMPACT Selling Seminar

3.9/5

IMPACT is a six-stage selling system developed by the late Bill Brooks: Investigate, Meet, Probe, Apply, Convince and Tie-it-Up. The open-enrollment seminar runs as six live two-hour sessions with a sales effectiveness trainer, so a rep can join without waiting for a full company cohort. Each participant gets a personal assessment and selling skills analysis, the IMPACT course workbook, and sales tools to keep.

The Brooks Group says the method has been presented to over one million sales professionals over four decades. Team training is delivered in person or virtually. The seminar page does not show a price and mentions no certificate: ask for both in writing, and ask whether reinforcement after the six sessions is included.

Standout features
  • Open enrollment: one rep can join, no full cohort needed
  • Six live two-hour sessions, easy to fit into a selling week
  • Personal skills assessment and workbook included
  • Same method for new hires and seasoned reps
+Pros
  • ✓A simple process reps can remember in a call
  • ✓Live trainer, not video only
  • ✓Virtual format removes travel cost
−Cons
  • ✗Price only on request
  • ✗No certificate mentioned on the page
  • ✗A general method: little on complex multi-stakeholder deals
Verdict

The most accessible full method on this list for one rep or a small team. Get the per-seat quote and the reinforcement plan before you compare it with anyone else.

2
Best live virtual course for SaaS account executives, with a published price

Winning by Design · Selling for Impact

3.8/5

Selling for Impact is Winning by Design's course for account executives. It runs over four weeks: one live 2-hour session a week on Zoom with a certified trainer, so 8 hours of live instruction, plus 30 to 45 minutes of online work between sessions. The eight modules follow the deal: the sales method, the perfect discovery call, applying research to emails and calls, critical events and urgency, storytelling, the demo, and trading versus negotiating.

Cohorts are capped at 25 learners, there are no prerequisites, and the course ends with a one-hour online certification exam (75% or higher to pass). The page shows $1,500 per person and open sessions for US and EMEA time zones. It's built around SaaS and recurring revenue selling, so a rep in a transactional or field sales role will have to translate the examples.

Standout features
  • $1,500 per person, published
  • 8 hours live, one 2-hour session a week
  • Cohorts capped at 25
  • Certification exam, 75% to pass
  • Private course possible for a team
+Pros
  • ✓Price published on the course page
  • ✓Short live format that fits a working week
  • ✓Role plays and breakouts in every session
−Cons
  • ✗Built around SaaS and recurring revenue selling
  • ✗Only 8 live hours for $1,500
  • ✗The certificate is the provider's own
Verdict

The easiest program here to budget for an AE: one price, four weeks, a clear curriculum. Pick it if you sell software or subscriptions; look elsewhere if your deals are transactional.

3
Best consultative selling program for a B2B team

Richardson Sales Performance · Consultative Selling Training

3.7/5

Richardson presents Consultative Selling Training as a program that "equips sales teams to lead customer-focused conversations that create value and build trust." It's one of Richardson's two core offerings, and the company positions it as the starting point before its skill programs on prospecting, negotiation and opportunity pursuit. The content covers how to prepare each customer meeting, build rapport, ask a full range of consultative questions, listen actively, position value and close.

The format is spelled out on the page, which is rare at this level: a 1 or 2-day instructor-led workshop, or two or four 4-hour virtual workshops, with digital learning before and after. The price isn't published. Richardson sells to companies, so ask for a price per participant and the minimum group size before you compare it with an open-enrollment seat.

Standout features
  • Length published: 1 or 2 days, or two or four 4-hour virtual workshops
  • Four formats: virtual, in person, blended, digital
  • Pre and post digital learning around the workshop
  • Built for reps, managers, business development and sales leaders
+Pros
  • ✓A clear, published format you can plan around
  • ✓Covers the whole conversation, from preparation to close
  • ✓A base you can extend with prospecting or negotiation programs
−Cons
  • ✗No price on the page
  • ✗Sold to companies, not to one rep
  • ✗No certificate described
Verdict

The pick when you want a whole B2B team on one conversation structure in one or two days. A solo rep should look at an open-enrollment seat instead.

Best sales course for discovery on a small budget

A Sales Growth Company · Gap Selling Online Training (GAP+)

3.6/5

Gap Selling teaches a problem-centric approach: find the gap between where the buyer is and where they need to be, then sell the bridge. The online course, taught by Keenan, the author of the book, covers getting buyers to take calls, keeping deals from dragging on, defending price instead of discounting, running discovery calls, handling being ghosted and writing emails that get read. Your answers to interactive questions decide what you see next.

The GAP+ membership starts at $59 a month for training, classes and sessions, with a free trial, and adds over 26 hours of recorded masterclasses from certified partners (demos, proposals, credibility, booking meetings). For teams of 1 to 9 reps, a small-team package bundles a live session to build the team's Problem Identification Chart and daily AI coaching. Larger companies are pointed to instructor-led enterprise training, without a public price.

Standout features
  • From $59 a month, with a free trial
  • Taught by the author of Gap Selling
  • Small-team package for 1 to 9 reps
  • Over 26 hours of recorded masterclasses
+Pros
  • ✓Lowest entry price among the paid programs we rank
  • ✓Start today, no cohort date to wait for
  • ✓Strong on discovery, where many deals are really lost
−Cons
  • ✗Self-paced: no role-play unless you buy the team package
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗Enterprise training price not published
Verdict

The best value if discovery is your weak spot. Pair it with weekly call reviews by the manager, or the videos will stay videos.

Best relationship-selling program with in-person practice

Dale Carnegie · Winning with Relationship Selling

3.6/5

Winning with Relationship Selling is Dale Carnegie's flagship sales program. Its pitch: informed, skeptical buyers make selling tougher than ever, so reps need trust, emotional intelligence and consultative skills. The curriculum covers credibility, a clear customer value proposition, selling on value instead of discount, controlling long sales cycles, prospecting with AI tools, handling objections and using social media.

On its official UK site and brochure, it runs as three full days in person, spaced over several weeks to leave room for practice and feedback, plus a live online kick-off session. The UK page publishes a price, from £2,200 + VAT (£2,250 in London), which is rare among the big names. In the US the course is sold by local Dale Carnegie offices: ask yours for the format, the trainer and a written price per seat.

Standout features
  • Value-based selling to reduce price pressure
  • Three full days spaced over several weeks, plus a kick-off
  • Prospecting with AI tools in the curriculum
  • Public price on the UK page
+Pros
  • ✓Live practice and feedback between sessions
  • ✓Trainers who still sell
  • ✓Fits experienced and new reps
−Cons
  • ✗US price set by each local office
  • ✗No certificate mentioned
  • ✗Quality depends on the local trainer
Verdict

A strong pick when price pressure is your real problem. Meet the local trainer before you sign: with a franchise network, that person is the course.

Best sales course with a shareable certificate

HubSpot Academy on Coursera · Sales Training for High Performing Teams

3.5/5

A four-course specialization from HubSpot Academy, taught by Kyle Jepson: Building Your Sales Career (10 h), Techniques for a Human-Centric Sales Process (15 h), Sales Team Management (11 h) and Inbound Business Strategy (13 h). That's about 49 hours at beginner level, with no prior experience required, and HubSpot CRM as the tool used in examples.

It ends with a career certificate from HubSpot Academy that you can add to LinkedIn. Learners rate it 4.7 out of 5 on 1,217 reviews. On price, read the page closely: it shows an "Enroll for free" button and says the program is included with Coursera Plus, while its FAQ says you cannot take it for free; enrolling gives you all four courses and the certificate when you complete the work, and Coursera offers financial aid if you can't afford the fee. Coursera estimates 4 weeks at 10 hours a week, while the instructor's recommended pace is 6 to 8 weeks.

Standout features
  • 4.7 out of 5 on 1,217 reviews
  • Career certificate from HubSpot Academy
  • About 49 hours over 4 courses
  • Includes a course on sales team management
+Pros
  • ✓Structured path for beginners
  • ✓Career certificate you can add to LinkedIn
  • ✓Included with Coursera Plus, financial aid available
−Cons
  • ✗No live role-play or feedback
  • ✗Examples lean on HubSpot CRM
  • ✗Beginner level only
Verdict

A solid, cheap foundation for a new rep. It teaches the process; it can't replace a manager listening to real calls.

7
Best live virtual program to learn the Sandler system

Sandler · Sandler Essentials

3.4/5

Sandler Essentials is sold by authorized Sandler training centers; the page we compared is run by Tridenza LLC, because we found no national sign-up page for the program on sandler.com. It runs as ten 1.5-hour instructor-led sessions, conducted virtually, each with real-time role-play, live reinforcement of key concepts and coaching on your own sales challenges. The sessions follow the Sandler system: the success triangle, the buyer-seller dynamic, communication skills, buyer-focused conversations, mutual agreements, the buyer's motivations, questioning, investment parameters, the decision-making process, then presenting the solution and closing.

You also get one year of access to Sandler Online, the learning portal. The page shows no price: ask the training center for a written price per seat and the minimum group size. Because Sandler sells through local centers, the trainer you get matters as much as the method.

Standout features
  • Ten live 1.5-hour virtual sessions
  • Role-play and coaching in every session
  • One year of Sandler Online
  • A complimentary DISC assessment
  • For reps and sales leaders
+Pros
  • ✓A complete, named method taught live
  • ✓Short sessions that fit a working week
  • ✓Managers and reps learn the same system
−Cons
  • ✗No price on the page
  • ✗Sign-up runs through an authorized Sandler center (Tridenza on our link)
  • ✗Quality depends on the local training center and trainer
  • ✗No certificate described
Verdict

A good pick if your team wants Sandler's method live and in short doses. Ask for the price and meet the trainer before you sign.

Best on-demand sales course for an individual rep

RAIN Group · Online Sales Training (Sales Mastery Program)

3.1/5

RAIN Group's online sales training is designed, in its own words, to help individual learners stay competitive in a modern sales environment. Its starting point is the Sales Mastery Program, a foundational course that the page describes as 75+ lessons over 15 modules (one box on the same page says 100+). Lessons come as text or video, with exercises, tools and ebooks to apply what you learn, and a knowledge check at the end of each module.

The content is based on over a decade of RAIN Group's proprietary sales research, and you finish with a certificate of completion. Tuition is $199 a month, billed every 30 days until you cancel, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The limit: it's on demand only, with no trainer watching you run a call.

Standout features
  • 75+ lessons over 15 modules, per the page
  • Text or video, on desktop, tablet or mobile
  • Knowledge check in each module
  • Certificate of completion
  • $199 a month, 30-day money-back guarantee
+Pros
  • ✓Large curriculum for one person
  • ✓Fully self-paced
  • ✓Exercises and tools to use on the job
−Cons
  • ✗$199 a month adds up if you take months to finish
  • ✗No live role-play
  • ✗Not a team rollout tool
Verdict

A solid pick for a rep who learns alone and wants breadth. If you need someone to correct how your reps actually run calls, take a live program instead.

By role and size

Which sales course for your role, team size and level?

By role

  • New rep or SDR: start with the free HubSpot Academy Inbound Sales course (about 3 hours, 7 lessons, with a certificate), then the Coursera specialization for a structured foundation.
  • Account executive on mid-size deals: IMPACT for the process, Gap Selling if deals stall at discovery.
  • Enterprise AE with buying committees: Richardson Consultative Selling for the conversation structure, then an opportunity-planning program from the same kind of provider.
  • Sales manager: pick a program with a coaching track (ask Richardson or Brooks what they offer for managers). Training reps without training the manager to coach is the most common waste we see in reviews.
  • Rep who prospects on LinkedIn: add the tool to the method with our Sales Navigator training comparison.

By team size and level

  • One rep: an open-enrollment seat (Brooks) or a monthly plan (Gap Selling). No need to commit to a company program.
  • 2 to 9 reps: Gap Selling's small-team package, or Brooks team training, virtual or in person.
  • 10 reps or more: get quotes from Richardson, Brooks and your local Dale Carnegie or Sandler office for a private program, and ask each for the price per seat and the reinforcement plan.
  • Team moving to a new CRM: method first, then the tool. See our HubSpot training and Salesforce training comparisons.
  • Zero budget: HubSpot Academy for inbound selling, free Salesforce Trailhead modules for CRM basics. Enough for a solo starter, not for a team that needs role-play.
  • Experienced reps who plateau: skip fundamentals. Go conversation-focused (Richardson) or discovery-focused (Gap Selling).
Buyer's guide

How to choose sales training that sticks

Before comparing programs, answer three questions: how many reps you're training, what kind of deals they sell (short transactional or long complex), and who coaches them after the course. Here is what we noticed comparing official pages and reviews, and the traps that keep coming back.

Ask for a written price per seat

Most large providers don't publish prices, and the numbers you see in online lists are often estimates repeated from blog to blog. The American Management Association's Fundamental Selling Techniques is a classic many lists quote with a price, but its official page refused our access, so we couldn't verify its price, length or format and left it out of the ranking: check them on amanet.org before you buy. Ask each provider for a written quote per seat, and check whether it's per person, per team or per month: those three models can't be compared until you convert them.

The big names we didn't rank

Korn Ferry (Strategic Selling with Perspective, the Miller Heiman lineage) and Challenger are serious methodologies for complex deals, but their official pages give neither a price nor a length, only formats, so you can't compare them before a sales call: we cite them and leave them out of the ranking. Corporate Visions and Huthwaite International (SPIN Selling, with open programmes for individuals) are in a similar case: we could not find a public price or course length on their official pages. Shortlist them if you sell to buying committees, and ask each for a price per participant, the length and the follow-up.

Check who delivers it

Some methods are taught through franchises or licensed partners, and reviewers repeatedly say quality depends on the trainer you get. That's the case for Dale Carnegie and Sandler, both in our ranking. Dale Carnegie's Winning with Relationship Selling is sold by local offices; Sandler Essentials by authorized Sandler training centers. Ask the local office for the program, the trainer and a written price per seat. Ask who will run your sessions, how long they've sold, and for a reference from a client in your industry.

No role-play, no training

A community member summed it up: if it isn't interactive, it isn't training. Video courses teach the vocabulary. Live practice, with feedback on how each rep runs a call, changes behavior. Count the role-play time before you count the hours.

Budget the reinforcement

The effect of a workshop fades fast without follow-up. Ask what happens after the last session: coaching for managers, refresher modules, deal reviews, access to the platform. If nothing is included, plan it yourself, or budget it with the provider.

Use employer-sponsored budgets

In the US, sales training is usually paid by the employer as a business expense, not by the rep. Many companies have a learning budget per employee: ask HR before paying yourself. A certificate of completion proves attendance; it isn't an accredited credential, so don't pay more just for one.

Match the method to your deals

A six-stage process fits mid-size B2B deals. A complex enterprise sale needs account and opportunity planning. A high-volume SDR team needs prospecting and discovery. Buying the wrong method for your sales cycle is the fastest way to waste a training budget.

Talent still matters

Training raises the floor, it doesn't replace hiring. Teaching people how to sell works best when they have the talent to sell in the first place. Use a program to align good reps on one method, not to fix a hiring problem.
  • Count reps and split them by deal type before asking for quotes.
  • Get a written price per seat, and convert monthly or team prices.
  • Ask who the trainer is and for a client reference.
  • Measure live role-play time, not total hours.
  • Get the reinforcement plan for the months after the course.
  • Train the managers to coach the method.
FAQ

Sales training: the questions buyers ask

  • What is the best sales training program?

For most B2B teams, The Brooks Group's IMPACT Selling seminar: a complete six-stage method in six live two-hour virtual sessions, open to individuals. For a B2B team that needs one conversation structure, Richardson's Consultative Selling Training, in one or two days or short virtual workshops. For an account executive selling software, Winning by Design's Selling for Impact at $1,500 per person. For a small budget, Gap Selling from $59 a month. The right one depends on your deal size and who will coach after the course.

  • How much does sales training cost?

It ranges from free (HubSpot Academy), $59 a month (Gap Selling), $199 a month (RAIN Group's Sales Mastery Program) and $1,500 per person (Winning by Design's Selling for Impact) to £2,200 + VAT (£2,250 in London) for Dale Carnegie's three-day program on its UK page, and programs priced on quote only, like Brooks, Richardson and Sandler. The big names rarely publish prices, so ask each one for a written price per participant and the minimum group size before you compare. Tip: compare the cost per rep who still uses the method months later, not the sticker price.

  • How long does sales training take?

From about 3 hours for a free introductory course to about 49 hours for the HubSpot specialization on Coursera. A live seminar like IMPACT runs 12 hours over six sessions, Winning by Design's Selling for Impact 8 hours over four weeks, Sandler Essentials 15 hours over ten, and Richardson's workshop one or two days. Add the weeks after the course: reps need managers to review calls and push the method into real deals.

  • Do sales training programs give a certificate?

Some do. The HubSpot Academy specialization on Coursera ends with a career certificate you can add to LinkedIn, and HubSpot Academy's free Inbound Sales course also gives one. RAIN Group's online training ends with a certificate of completion, Winning by Design's Selling for Impact with a certification exam (75% to pass), and the pages we read for Brooks, Richardson and Gap Selling don't mention one. A certificate proves completion; buyers judge reps on results.

  • Who pays for sales training, the company or the rep?

Usually the employer, as a business expense from the learning or sales enablement budget. Ask HR or your manager before paying yourself. If you're paying alone, a monthly plan like Gap Selling or a Coursera subscription keeps the cost low.

  • Is online sales training as good as in-person?

Yes, if it's live and includes role-play. IMPACT runs as six live virtual sessions with a trainer, which on-demand programs like RAIN Group's can't replace. Self-paced video alone teaches vocabulary but rarely changes how reps run a call.

  • Is there free sales training?

Yes. HubSpot Academy's Inbound Sales course is free, about 3 hours over 7 lessons, with a certificate, and Salesforce Trailhead has free modules. They're enough to start. They won't give you feedback on your calls, which is where most progress comes from.

  • What's the difference between a sales course and a sales methodology program?

A sales course teaches skills to one person: prospecting, discovery, closing. A methodology program gives a whole team a shared process and tools, like Sandler's system or Richardson's conversation structure, plus manager coaching. One rep needs a course; a team that wants consistent forecasting needs a methodology.
