Which mentoring software should your company pick in 2026?
Mentoring programs rarely fail because of the software. They fail because pairs are badly matched and nobody follows up. The right platform fixes both, at a price your headcount can carry.
You're running, or about to launch, an employee mentoring program: onboarding buddies, leadership development, a women-in-leadership track, reverse mentoring for the exec team. A spreadsheet works for the first cohort. By thirty pairs it breaks: who's matched with whom, who hasn't met in two months, who asked for a new mentor.
The short answer. For a mid-size or large company, Together is our top pick: easy to launch, and you only pay for employees who are actively matched. For an enterprise on Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, MentorcliQ has the widest integrations and the only published entry price in the enterprise tier. If your security team asks for FedRAMP or ISO 27001, Chronus has the deepest compliance file. For a small team or a pilot, Mentornity is free for up to 10 users.
Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own pricing page. When a vendor publishes nothing, we say "quote-only" and don't repeat numbers floating around elsewhere.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored placement is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link ever changes a score.

The full ranking. The "What you pay for" column shows the unit each vendor bills on. That often matters more than the sticker price: every program has more sign-ups than pairs that actually meet.

How we compared and scored
Search "best mentoring software" and several of the top lists are published by the vendors themselves, ranking themselves first. Others mix enterprise platforms with marketplaces where individuals pay for a mentor. Almost none show real prices, and none explain why most programs stall after the first quarter.
We read each vendor's pricing page, product page and security page, then admin feedback from people running programs, starting with the negative. A platform makes the ranking only if the vendor itself describes its matching, its billing unit and its mentoring formats.
Some names didn't make it. Guider and PushFar: their official pricing and product pages weren't readable when we compared, and we don't rank a tool on directory listings alone. Ten Thousand Coffees and Torch come up often in US lists, but we couldn't check their offers on official pages. Price figures for Chronus and PushFar circulate online, but the vendors don't publish them, so we left them out.

Together
Together does something unusual in this market: it tells you how it bills. You pay only for employees who are actively matched, not your whole headcount and not the sign-ups who never find a partner. Implementation and support come included, with no setup fee. The actual number is still quote-only, based on learners, pairing types and goals.
Every plan ships the same core: matching on goals, skills and interests, or manager-assigned pairs, program templates, reporting, HRIS integrations and SSO. There's a dedicated Microsoft Teams version. Slack doesn't appear on the pricing page, so if your company runs on Slack, ask before the demo.
The security page is thorough: SOC 2 Type II audited every year, an annual penetration test, AES-256 encryption at rest, SAML login and automatic user provisioning. Data sits on Google Cloud, region not stated. The vendor, Together (US) Inc., offers a DPA and a UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, which matters if you have staff in Europe.
What admins tend to say: auto-matching saves serious time, the admin navigation is less intuitive than it could be, and scheduling is the complaint that comes up most. Plan for mentors to book meetings in their normal calendar.
Tip: ask for a quote built on the active pairs you're targeting (say, 40 pairs in year one), not on headcount. That's the vendor's own model, so get it in writing.
- Billed per active participant
- Implementation and support included
- Microsoft Teams version
- ✓No paying for inactive sign-ups
- ✓Auto-match or manager-assigned pairs
- ✓SOC 2 Type II, AES-256 at rest
- ✗No public price
- ✗Hosting region not stated
- ✗Scheduling is a common complaint
The best starting point for a mid-size or large company launching its first serious program. If you need a published price or a free tier, look at Mentornity first.
MentorcliQ
MentorcliQ is the only enterprise-grade vendor here that publishes an entry price: CliQ Start begins at $9,900 a year for 100 employees. That works out to $99 per employee per year. The two plans above it, CliQ Plus and CliQ Complete, are quote-only. Complete is built for unlimited, multilingual programs on a 500-employee base.
Its strength is the integration list, the longest on this page: Microsoft 365, Teams, Slack, Outlook and Google Calendar, Zoom, then the big HRIS names: Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle and UKG. SSO is included from Start. The mobile app only arrives with Plus.
The compliance file is strong for US buyers: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA, the Data Privacy Framework, Microsoft SSPA and TX-RAMP for Texas public-sector work. Hosting location isn't stated, so get it in the contract.
The recurring user complaint is predictable: it's too expensive for a small organization. Admins also mention a learning curve and reporting that's hard to customize. On the other side, HR leaders at large companies recommend it to peers without hesitation.
Tip: CliQ Start is sized in bands of 100 employees. If your first program covers one population (say, managers in one business unit), negotiate on that scope, not on total headcount.
- Published entry price
- Workday, SAP, ADP, Oracle, UKG
- Teams and Slack
- ✓Widest HRIS integrations
- ✓SSO on every plan
- ✓Multilingual programs (Complete)
- ✗$9,900 a year minimum
- ✗Mobile app from Plus only
- ✗Hosting location not stated
The pick for enterprises already on Workday or SAP. For a 300-person company, the price floor is hard to justify next to Together or Mentornity.
Chronus
Chronus carries the deepest security file in this ranking. It's hosted on AWS with a choice of US East, Europe or Australia, and holds ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2, FedRAMP Moderate and CSA STAR. GDPR is covered through standard contractual clauses, with a DPA available. If your vendor review is a 200-question spreadsheet, Chronus has probably answered it before.
The product line goes beyond mentoring: Rumi Mentor for programs, Rumi Coach for coaching, Rumi Match for pairing and Rumi Communities for peer groups. Useful if you want one platform for all employee development conversations.
Integrations are broad. HRIS: Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle PeopleSoft, Namely. Messaging: Slack and Teams. Learning: Cornerstone, Degreed, Percipio and LinkedIn Learning. SAML SSO and Entra ID.
User feedback is positive, with three recurring caveats: reporting feels limited without exports, Outlook calendar sync could be better, and some find the interface dated.
The main limit is price. Nothing is published, a demo is required, and the product clearly targets large accounts. Tip: bring your security questionnaire to the first call. It's where Chronus pulls ahead, so make the comparison on paper.
- FedRAMP Moderate and ISO 27001
- US, EU or Australia hosting
- Mentoring, coaching and communities
- ✓Most complete compliance file
- ✓Cornerstone, Degreed, LinkedIn Learning links
- ✓Slack and Teams
- ✗No public price
- ✗Reports hard to export
- ✗Outlook sync needs work
The best choice when security review decides the deal. Without strict compliance needs, Together is quicker to launch.
Qooper
Qooper stands out for the number of formats it handles: one-to-one, reverse mentoring, flash mentoring (short one-off conversations), peer and group. Matching is flexible too: Smart Match, manual pairing, bulk suggestions or auto-match.
Integrations: SSO, Outlook and Google Workspace, Slack and Teams, HRIS, LMS and CSV import. There are iOS and Android apps, plus apps that run directly inside Teams and Slack. That's a real plus: employees don't get yet another tool to open.
Pricing is quote-only, based on usage and participant volume. The site has an ROI calculator, handy for the business case you'll write for leadership.
Read the security wording carefully. Qooper lists SOC II, FedRAMP hosting and "GDPR Ready", which is not the same claim as "GDPR compliant". The hosting region isn't stated. If you have European staff, ask for the DPA and the region before signing.
Users like the range of formats. They flag a mobile app that needs polish, notifications from groups they didn't join, and limited customization.
Tip: Qooper has published its own take on why programs die (fuzzy goals, bad matches, no cadence, no admin visibility). Use it as your demo script and ask them to show how the product handles each one.
- Five mentoring formats
- Native Slack and Teams apps
- ROI calculator
- ✓Most formats on this list
- ✓Lives inside Slack and Teams
- ✓CSV import for a fast start
- ✗No public price
- ✗"GDPR Ready", not "compliant"
- ✗Mobile app needs polish
The right pick if you want reverse mentoring, groups and flash sessions side by side. If one format is enough, Together is simpler.
Mentornity
Mentornity is the only tool in this ranking with a full public price list, free tier included. The free plan covers up to 10 users, every feature, no time limit. The Program plan is $289 a month, or $260 a month billed yearly ($3,120 a year), for 50 active participants.
Two details matter. Admins and coordinators don't count toward the 50. And you decide who's "active": a mentor taking a break costs you nothing. Programs, cohorts and admins are unlimited.
What costs extra: SAML single sign-on, white labeling (the platform in your brand colors), and AI features sold on credits with no price shown.
Its limit is the top end. Past 50 active participants, it's quote-only. The pricing page lists no HRIS integrations and no security certifications, which won't pass an enterprise vendor review.
Tip: run your pilot on the free plan with 5 pairs (10 people) for a quarter. If it takes off, yearly billing saves you $348 over monthly.
- Free up to 10 users
- Admins don't count
- Full public pricing
- ✓Pilot with zero budget
- ✓You choose who's active
- ✓Unlimited programs and cohorts
- ✗SSO and white label cost extra
- ✗Quote-only above 50 participants
- ✗No HRIS integrations listed
The easiest way to test mentoring without a budget line, and a solid option up to 50 participants. Enterprises will need Together's or MentorcliQ's integrations.
Mentorloop
Mentorloop has a clear entry price: Pro starts at $299 a month, aimed at nonprofits and smaller organizations. Matches are unlimited. Running several programs at once is a paid add-on on the base plan. Enterprise is quote-only. The page doesn't say which dollar or what commitment applies so confirm both on your quote.
Its matching has a smart idea. The algorithm processes the whole cohort at once instead of first-come, first-served, and you can cap how many requests a mentor receives. The result: popular mentors don't get swamped, and quieter profiles still get mentees. An AI assistant called Coco supports participants.
Integrations cover Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Google, Exchange and O365 calendars, Zoom and Teams for video, SAML SSO (Entra ID, Okta) and HRIS or CRM systems including Salesforce, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR and Oracle. The split between Pro and Enterprise isn't clear on the page.
Data residency is Australia, the UK or the US. For a US company, that's fine. For EU staff, there's no EU region.
From users, the most cited complaint is ironic given the pitch: some find the matching inefficient. Calendar and Teams links feel light, and there's no mobile app.
- Published entry price
- Whole-cohort matching
- Request cap per mentor
- ✓Built for nonprofits
- ✓Unlimited matches
- ✓Entra ID and Okta SSO
- ✗No EU data region
- ✗No mobile app
- ✗Matching criticized by some users
A good fit for a nonprofit or association that wants a simple, fair structure. Enterprises with deep HRIS needs should look higher up the list.
Mentiway
Mentiway is the simplest tool in this ranking. It publishes a per-user price: 1,188 zł per user per year for 10 to 100 users, then 1,414 zł above that, paid a year upfront. The price is in Polish zloty, so convert at today's rate before comparing.
It covers the basics: automatic matching, ready-made program templates, a library of about a hundred pieces of content to guide meetings, and a buddy module for new hires. That makes it a natural entry point if mentoring is mainly part of your onboarding.
The limits are clear. The site lists no integrations (HRIS, Teams, Slack, calendar) and doesn't say where data is hosted. For a small company that manages pairs by hand inside the tool, that's workable. For anyone syncing employees from an HRIS, it isn't.
It also bills every user, mentor and mentee alike. A 20-pair program is 40 users, or 47,520 zł a year. Count both sides when you budget.
Tip: before signing, ask in writing for the integration list, the hosting location and the DPA. If any answer is missing, go with Mentornity, which does the same job and has a free plan to try first.
- Buddy module for new hires
- About 100 content pieces included
- Published per-user price
- ✓Easy to pick up
- ✓Ready-made templates
- ✓Automatic matching
- ✗No integrations listed
- ✗Hosting location not stated
- ✗Priced in zloty, paid yearly upfront
An acceptable option for a small team that runs everything inside the tool. Once your HRIS or Teams enter the picture, look higher up the ranking.
Which mentoring platform fits your company?
Three questions cut this list in half: how many participants you'll have, what your security review requires, and where your employees spend their day.
Small business: under 250 employees
Mid-market: 250 to 5,000 employees
Enterprise and regulated sectors
What your security team will ask
Teams, Slack and calendars
The real cost of a program
- Set one measurable goal before picking a tool (first-year retention, promotions, managers ready to lead)
- Ask what the bill is based on: headcount, users or active pairs
- Get the hosting region and DPA in the contract
- Check the HRIS connector, or plan on CSV import
- Book a real meeting through the tool during the demo
- Start with a 5 to 10 pair pilot for one quarter
Six steps to a mentoring program that lasts
Vendors admit it themselves: programs rarely die from bad software. They die from fuzzy goals, poor matches, lost cadence and a program owner who can't see trouble coming. These six steps work with every platform on this page.
The steps
Write one measurable goal
Before"Develop talent" can't be measured. "Keep new hires past their first year" or "get ten managers ready to lead a team" can. One goal per program: if you have three, run three programs. Every tool here supports multiple programs, sometimes as a paid add-on (Mentorloop).
- Goals per program
- 1
Start small with a pilot
BeforeFive to ten pairs, one population (new hires at one site, for example), one quarter. Mentornity lets you do it free up to 10 users. The pilot tells you who signs up, who actually meets and what mentors think, before you buy for the whole company.
- Pilot size
- 5 to 10 pairs
Get the matching right
LaunchA bad match rarely recovers. Ask for goals and skills, not just job titles. Let mentees choose from three suggestions rather than assigning a name. Cap how many mentees each mentor takes (Mentorloop does it natively) so your most popular mentors don't burn out.
- Suggestions per mentee
- 3
Lock in the cadence at the first meeting
LaunchPairs that drift are the ones that never booked a second meeting. Ask every first meeting to end with a recurring slot on the calendar, and turn on the platform's automatic nudges. This is where Outlook, Google Calendar or Teams integration pays off.
- To book
- A recurring slot
Prepare your mentors
LaunchA great manager isn't automatically a great mentor. An hour of prep covers the essentials: listen more than you advise, keep things confidential, and know when to say the pairing isn't working. Together and Mentiway ship templates and content to guide conversations.
- Minimum prep
- 1 hour
Check the dashboard every month
DuringThe program owner needs three things: pairs that haven't met in a month, rematch requests, and progress toward the goal. Nudge a silent pair right away and be willing to rematch. At the end of the cycle, check against your original goal before you expand.
- Review cadence
- Monthly

Mentoring software · FAQ
What is mentoring software?
It's a platform that runs an employee mentoring program: mentor and mentee sign-ups, matching, scheduling, content to guide meetings and a dashboard for the program owner. It replaces the spreadsheet and email reminders once a program grows past about twenty pairs. How much does mentoring software cost?
From free to five figures a year. Mentornity is free up to 10 users, then $260 a month billed yearly for 50 active participants. Mentorloop starts at $299 a month. MentorcliQ starts at $9,900 a year for 100 employees. Together, Chronus and Qooper are quote-only. Check the billing unit: headcount, users or active pairs. Is there free mentoring software?
Yes: Mentornity is free for up to 10 users, all features, no time limit, and admins don't count. That's enough for a 5-pair pilot. No enterprise-focused platform offers a free plan beyond that. What features should mentoring software have?
Four matter most: matching you can adjust (auto, self-select, admin override), calendar and Teams or Slack integration so meetings happen, automatic nudges for quiet pairs, and reports on participation. SSO and an HRIS connector become essential past a few hundred participants. How does mentor matching work?
Each participant fills in a profile (goals, skills, interests), then the platform suggests pairs. Depending on the vendor, matching is automatic, chosen by the mentee from suggestions, assigned by a manager or done by hand. Mentorloop processes the whole cohort at once to spread popular mentors fairly. What is reverse mentoring?
A junior employee mentors a senior leader, usually on digital skills, social media or how younger colleagues see the company. Qooper treats it as a format of its own, alongside one-to-one, group, peer and flash mentoring. Can I run a mentoring program in a spreadsheet?
For a pilot under ten pairs, yes. Beyond that, a spreadsheet doesn't nudge anyone, doesn't show which pairs have gone quiet and forces you to match by hand. That's usually the point, around twenty or thirty pairs, when program owners start shopping for a platform.
