6sense alternatives: what to switch to and how to leave cleanly

Eight replacements, one for each reason to leave, and an eight-step exit plan.

The short answer: Demandbase if you want to keep a full ABM platform, ZoomInfo if reps want contacts and intent in one place, Apollo.io if the budget no longer adds up, Warmly if you want to act on website visitors in real time, Leadfeeder for visitor identification at a published price, Cognism if you sell into Europe, HubSpot if your team already lives in that CRM, and AdRoll ABM if 6sense was mainly an ad tool for you. One thing to know first: 6sense has no free plan in 2026 and publishes no prices, so your exit starts months before renewal, contract in hand. We compared these eight tools on intent data, published pricing and what it takes to migrate.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why teams leave 6sense, and what keeps them stuck

6sense is still one of the most complete ABM platforms around: predicted buying stages, account scoring, ad audiences, rep alerts. People don't leave for missing features. They leave because of the gap between what the contract costs and what the team actually gets out of it. Six reasons come up again and again in user reviews and practitioner threads.

No price until a rep sends a quote

The pricing page shows no numbers. Seats, credits, products and data packs are each priced by volume band, and the rest is negotiated. You can add seats or credits at any time; nothing on the page says you can take them away. Comparing two quotes means rebuilding a per-module price yourself.

The free tier is gone

The free Sales Intelligence tier disappeared in 2026, along with every "start for free" button. To judge data quality on your own accounts, you now go through a demo, then a test environment that only new customers get during onboarding. In short, you sign before you really see.

Expensive dashboards nobody audits

In one practitioner thread, a team describes spending over $1M on the platform and its add-ons without clear results. The replies line up: these tools have value, but they turn into very expensive dashboards that just sit there, and nobody audits them until a year's budget is gone. The shared lesson is that the platform doesn't work on its own. Someone has to run it.

Intent signals that don't hold up on the phone

The sharpest complaint comes from SDRs: accounts flagged as in-market whose people had never heard of the company when called. Reviews mention inaccurate data and inconsistent intent signals. Outside North America, mobile numbers are described as limited. If you sell into Europe, that's the first thing to check.

Slow onboarding and a steep learning curve

Users describe a platform that loads slowly, takes real effort to learn, and needs a long onboarding and CRM integration. Expect weeks before scores actually help reps. When the person who set up 6sense leaves, much of the value often walks out with them.

Annual contracts that renew on autopilot

Contracts are annual. The classic trap is renewal: the cancellation window closes well before the end date, and a team that never measured return renews by default. Some teams stop renewing once they run the numbers. Read your notice clause today, not a month before the deadline.

The 8 alternatives

6sense alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, its main limit, how to migrate from 6sense, and what it costs. Prices are what vendors publish in 2026; where a vendor publishes nothing, we say so. The order runs from full platform to plain signal.

01

Demandbase: the most direct replacement

Full ABM

Why switch to Demandbase. It's the other big ABM platform: account identification, intent, scoring, B2B advertising and company data. If your marketing team built its programs around 6sense buying stages, Demandbase is where those habits carry over fastest. Its B2B data is also sold on its own, so you can feed your CRM or warehouse without buying the whole platform.

Who it's for. Mid-market and enterprise marketing teams running real ABM programs, with someone who owns the tool.

Who it's not for. A team that mostly wanted contacts. You'd be buying the same cost problem under a new name.

Its limit. Pricing follows the same logic as 6sense: a platform fee covering software and services, plus a per-user charge, all on a quote. No free trial is advertised. You're trading one negotiation for another.

How to migrate. Export your target account lists and segments from 6sense as CSV and rebuild them as account lists in Demandbase. Recreate stage and score definitions by hand, since they don't export. Tip: ask for an overlap period in the contract so both tools run on the same accounts for a month.

ZoomInfo: contacts and intent in one place

Contact data

Why switch to ZoomInfo. Plenty of teams used 6sense mainly to find who to call inside a hot account. ZoomInfo does that with a deeper contact database and intent by package: buyer intent signals and clusters on Copilot Advanced, real-time and custom intent signals on Copilot Enterprise. On the marketing side, Marketing Demand tracks 25 intent topics, ABM Lite 100 and ABM Enterprise an unlimited number.

Who it's for. Structured sales teams, especially those selling into North America.

Who it's not for. A small team that wants a readable price or a short commitment.

Its limit. No published prices: everything goes through a "Get pricing" form. On marketing packages each export costs one credit (75K credits on Marketing Demand, 150K on ABM Enterprise). Our review scores it 3.6 out of 5, mostly because of pricing and contracts.

How to migrate. Export target accounts from 6sense, import them into ZoomInfo for enrichment, then rebuild your intent topics. The sales packages offer a free trial: run it on your 50 hottest 6sense accounts and compare the signals. Our ZoomInfo review and ZoomInfo pricing page cover the contracts.

Apollo.io: the affordable option, intent included

Lowest price

Why switch to Apollo.io. Apollo combines a contact database, enrichment, email sequences and Bombora intent data. The free plan tracks 1 intent topic, Basic and Professional track 6, Organization 12, out of more than 14,000 topics Apollo says are available. If your team used 6sense as a list of hot accounts to call, that's often enough, at a very different price point.

Who it's for. SMBs and scale-ups whose reps prospect themselves, with no dedicated ABM marketer.

Who it's not for. A team running account-based ad audiences or relying on predicted buying stages.

Its limit. Credits are granted at the start of each cycle and don't roll over. Intent topics are capped by plan, and 6 is tight if you sell several products. Basic is $49 per seat per month billed annually ($65 monthly), Professional $79 ($99), Organization $119, annual only with a 3-seat minimum.

How to migrate. Connect Apollo to your CRM, import your 6sense target accounts as CSV, then pick your 6 topics from the ones that actually produced meetings in 6sense. Our Apollo.io review explains what the credits buy.

Warmly: visitor ID, intent and automated action

Visitors + AI

Why switch to Warmly. Warmly identifies who's on your site and layers that with Bombora research intent, job changes, hiring and funding signals. Then it acts: website chat, rep alerts, automated outreach. It's one of the few 6sense alternatives that publishes its prices.

Who it's for. US B2B teams with real inbound traffic who want to turn visits into conversations the same day.

Who it's not for. A team with modest traffic. The entry ticket is high for what you'd get from a few hundred company visits a month.

Its limit. AI web de-anonymization starts at $10,000 a year, Inbound Chat at $20,000, AI Inbound Autopilot at $30,000, each from 10K credits a month. The GTM Signals Package and Warm Experiences add $10,000 a year each.

How to migrate. Warmly's own advice: pay quarterly to try ($4,875 for de-anonymization), then move to annual if it holds. Run the Warmly script alongside 6sense during that quarter and compare the companies each one surfaces.

Leadfeeder: visitor identification at a published price

Visitors, European

Why switch to Leadfeeder. A good chunk of what 6sense does comes down to one signal: this company just looked at your pricing page. Leadfeeder identifies company visits from IP data, with a free plan and published prices. It's a European vendor (Dealfront went back to the Leadfeeder name in 2026), and it lists prices in euros only. The Activate plan adds filtering by intent signals, from €369 a month billed annually.

Who it's for. B2B SMBs with steady website traffic who want to turn company visits into calls.

Who it's not for. Teams targeting accounts that never visit their site. No visit, no signal.

Its limit. The free plan only shows the last 100 companies a month with 7 days of history. The first paid tier, Discover, covers up to 50 identified companies a month; intent filtering waits for Activate. Standard credits don't roll over at the end of the contract. Our review scores it 3.3 out of 5.

How to migrate. Add the Leadfeeder tag before you pull the 6sense one so you don't lose visits, and use the 14-day trial to compare which companies each tool identifies. See our Leadfeeder review and Leadfeeder pricing page.

Cognism: for teams selling into Europe

European data

Why switch to Cognism. The UK vendor built its reputation on European contact data, which is where 6sense users say the data gets thin. The Pro package includes Bombora Company Surge intent: up to 12 topics out of more than 11,000. A record you reveal stays usable for the whole contract, with no extra credit.

Who it's for. Sales teams prospecting the UK, France, Germany or Spain, especially phone-heavy ones.

Who it's not for. A two-person team: Standard and Pro both include 5 seats, so that's the minimum shape.

Its limit. Pricing is a quote, tailored to the product, team setup and usage. No free plan.

How to migrate. Import your target accounts, add CRM enrichment if you want existing records refreshed, then rebuild your 12 topics. Our switch from Cognism page shows the other side: why its own customers leave.

HubSpot: buyer intent inside the CRM

Already in your CRM

Why switch to HubSpot. If your team already runs on HubSpot, its buyer intent tool (the former Clearbit) tracks companies visiting your site and companies researching related topics across the web. Everything stays in the CRM: no connector to maintain, no fields to sync.

Who it's for. SMBs on HubSpot Starter or above who want a simple signal without adding a vendor.

Who it's not for. Teams on another CRM, or anyone who needs account-based ad audiences.

Its limit. Without a Starter, Professional or Enterprise subscription you only see 20 companies per view. Adding companies and tracking their intent both use HubSpot Credits, and tracking is then charged monthly. The CRM is free for 2 users, but Marketing Hub Professional runs $800 a month billed yearly for 3 seats, plus a $3,000 onboarding fee.

How to migrate. Recreate your target accounts as tracked companies, starting small, since every addition uses credits. Our HubSpot review (4.2 out of 5) covers the tiers.

AdRoll ABM: when 6sense was mostly an ad tool

Account-based ads

Why switch to AdRoll ABM. Some teams used 6sense first and foremost to serve ads to target accounts. AdRoll, which absorbed RollWorks, offers account-based advertising, full ABM or account-based retargeting, without the buying-stage prediction layer.

Who it's for. Marketing teams whose main ABM motion is paid media.

Who it's not for. Teams who need a tool for reps: AdRoll doesn't provide a contact database.

Its limit. ABM packages are quote-based. Only retargeting shows its model: no fee to get started, you pay for media, with no minimum spend.

How to migrate. Export your ad account segments from 6sense, rebuild them in AdRoll, and keep the same creatives for two weeks so you can compare cost per account reached.

8 6sense alternatives side by side

Our default picks: Apollo.io for a sales team that wants an intent signal at a known price, Demandbase for an ABM marketing team that can't lose anything. For scale: three Apollo Basic seats cost $1,764 a year ($49 x 3 seats x 12 months), while Warmly's entry plan is $10,000 a year. Exit plan

Leaving 6sense in eight steps

6sense doesn't publish an exit guide. This plan follows the order that protects your data: contract first, export before uninstall, parallel run before cutover. If 6sense is installed in Salesforce, step 7 is the one that doesn't forgive mistakes.

01

Find your renewal date and notice clause

First

Pull the contract and write down two dates: the end of term, and the deadline to give notice of non-renewal. On annual contracts in this market, the cancellation window often closes well before the end date. Miss it and you're in for another year.

Put a calendar reminder three months before the notice deadline. That's roughly how long steps 2 to 4 take.

Time
one hour
Cost of skipping
another year
02

List everything 6sense feeds

Week 1

List what depends on 6sense: scores and buying stages in the CRM, segments, ad audiences, rep alerts, reports, syncs to your email platform. For each, note who uses it and how often.

This is often where the decision gets made. If only two segments and the alerts get real use, you don't need a full ABM platform.

Output
one row per use
03

Export segments, lists and fields first

Week 1

Export segments and account lists as CSV. In your CRM, copy the values of 6sense fields (scores, stages, profile fit) into fields you own. Why? Uninstalling a managed package in Salesforce removes its components and data, custom fields included.

The export Salesforce offers at uninstall is deleted two days after the uninstall completes. Download it right away and store it elsewhere.

Trap
Salesforce export deleted after 2 days
04

Run the replacement in parallel for 30 days

Month 1

Turn on the replacement for the same accounts 6sense covers, for 30 days. Better, run a real holdout: a high-intent segment on one side, an ICP-only control segment on the other, the same SDR campaign on both. Compare meetings booked, not scores.

This also tells you what 6sense was really worth. If the control segment performs as well, you can go simpler and cheaper.

Length
30 days

05

Rebuild your intent topics

Month 1

Intent topics don't transfer between tools: you pick them again from the new vendor's library. Caps vary: 6 Bombora topics on Apollo Basic, 12 on Cognism Pro, from 25 to unlimited on ZoomInfo's marketing packages.

Tip: only bring the topics that led to meetings in 6sense. Fewer topics, less noise for reps.

Cognism Pro

06

Reconnect ad audiences and alerts

Month 2

Rebuild your account-based ad audiences in the new tool (Demandbase, AdRoll) or directly in the ad platforms from your exported lists. Then reconnect rep alerts in the CRM or your team chat.

Keep the same creatives for two weeks. If results move, you'll know it's the targeting, not the message.

Control
same creatives for 2 weeks
07

Remove references, then uninstall the package

End of contract

Salesforce won't uninstall a package while an outside component still references it: a report, a validation rule, a flow, a formula field. Find them and remove them first. Then confirm the fields you copied in step 3 are populated.

Uninstall only after the parallel run ends, and never before the export is in hand.

08

Remove the tag and update consent

Last day

Pull the 6sense script from your site, your tag manager and your cookie banner. Update your privacy policy so the old vendor is gone and the new one is listed with its purpose.

Run a test visit from a corporate network to confirm the new tool picks it up.

Pitfalls

What makes a 6sense exit go wrong

Exits rarely fail on the technical side. They fail on a contract nobody read, data lost at uninstall, or a replacement picked from a demo instead of a test. Six mistakes keep coming back.

Missing the notice window

The date that matters is the notice deadline, not the end of term. Teams that start comparing three months before renewal are often already too late. Write it down the day you decide to leave.

Uninstalling before exporting

In Salesforce, uninstalling deletes the package's fields and data. Copy scores and stages into your own fields, download the export, and only then uninstall.

Swapping one platform for another without measuring

Moving from 6sense to another ABM platform without knowing what 6sense delivered means taking the same bet again. Run the holdout test first. It tells you whether you need a platform or just a signal.

Tracking 30 intent topics

More topics don't mean more signal. Broad topics surface accounts reading out of curiosity. Keep the topics that turned into meetings.

Forgetting consent

A new visitor identification tag is a tracker: it belongs in your consent banner and your privacy policy, especially for EU traffic. Two tags in parallel means two trackers to declare.

Comparing quotes without comparing units

Seats, credits, volume bands, identified companies, tracked topics: every vendor counts differently. Ask for the per-unit price and the renewal price in writing. Our Apollo.io vs ZoomInfo comparison shows the gap between a published price and a quote.

  • Notice deadline is in a shared calendar
  • 6sense CRM fields are copied into fields you own
  • Segments and account lists are exported as CSV
  • The high-intent vs control holdout ran for 30 days
  • Intent topics are rebuilt, keeping only the ones that produced meetings
  • Cookie banner and privacy policy are updated
FAQ · 9 questions

6sense alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • What is the best alternative to 6sense?

It depends on which part of 6sense your team actually used. If marketing ran full ABM programs (account scores, ad audiences, buying stages), Demandbase is the closest replacement. If reps mostly pulled contacts and intent alerts, ZoomInfo or Apollo.io cover that, the second at a fraction of the budget. If you want to act on website visits fast, look at Warmly. Our B2B prospecting ranking widens the field.

  • Is there a cheaper 6sense alternative?

Yes. Apollo.io starts at $49 per seat per month billed annually, includes 6 Bombora intent topics on that Basic plan, and still has a free plan. Three Basic seats come to $1,764 a year. Leadfeeder has a free plan and paid tiers listed in euros on its pricing page. What you give up: predicted buying stages and account-based ad orchestration. For many sales-led teams, that trade is worth it.

  • Does 6sense still have a free plan?

No. The free Sales Intelligence tier, which gave a handful of contact credits each month, was removed in 2026 along with every "start for free" button on the site. New customers get a test environment during onboarding, after signing. To evaluate intent data without a contract, Apollo.io's free plan (1 intent topic) and Leadfeeder's free plan are the easiest ways in.

  • How much does 6sense cost?

6sense doesn't publish prices. Seats, credits, products and data packs are each priced by the volume band they fall into, on a quote. Purchase data shared by software buying platforms puts annual contracts in the tens of thousands of dollars, with wide swings depending on modules. That's market data, not a 6sense price list. Always ask for a per-module breakdown and the renewal price in writing.

  • 6sense vs Apollo: which one should I pick?

6sense if you have someone running it full time and your deals take months across large buying committees. Apollo.io if your main job is finding contacts, enriching them and running sequences, with an intent signal on top. Apollo has no predicted buying stages or ad audiences, but it publishes its prices and you can cancel without a negotiation. Our Apollo.io review breaks down its credits.

  • 6sense vs Bombora: what's the difference?

Bombora sells data, 6sense sells a platform. Bombora measures which companies are researching thousands of topics more than usual and sells that signal through partners such as Apollo, ad platforms and data tools. 6sense builds its own signals, blends them with your website traffic and turns them into buying stages, scores and audiences. If all you need is the signal, buy a tool that bundles Bombora; buying it direct means talking to their team, with no public price list.

  • Can I get intent data without a full ABM platform?

Yes, and it's often the smarter buy. Apollo.io, ZoomInfo, Cognism and Warmly all bundle third-party intent. You pick topics, the tool flags accounts that are surging on them, and reps act from the CRM. Start with 5 or 6 topics tied closely to what you sell. Thirty broad topics mostly bring back accounts reading out of curiosity.

  • How do I cancel 6sense without losing my data?

Start with the contract: find the notice deadline, not just the end date. Then copy every 6sense field in your CRM into fields you own, export segments and account lists, and run your replacement in parallel before you uninstall anything. In Salesforce, uninstalling a managed package deletes its fields and data, and the export offered at uninstall is deleted two days later. The full plan is in the eight steps above.

  • Is intent data accurate?

Accurate enough to prioritize, not accurate enough to trust blindly. Reps on 6sense report calling "in-market" accounts that had never heard of them, and the same complaint shows up across vendors. Companies with several subsidiaries on one domain also blur the signal. The fix is a holdout test: run the same outreach on a high-intent segment and an ICP-only control segment for 30 days, then compare meetings booked.
