Arcads alternatives: where to go and how to keep your winning ads
Six tools, one for each reason people leave, plus a seven-step exit plan.
Short answer: Creatify if you want a lower cost per video and a permanent free plan, MakeUGC if you want the same workflow (AI actors pitching your product to camera) with public pricing, Argil if the face on screen has to be yours. Arcads hides its prices behind sign-up, charges 800 credits per talking-actor video and wipes your credits when you cancel. We compared six alternatives on entry price, billing unit and what you have to rebuild to switch.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.
Why media buyers leave Arcads, and why some stay
Credit where it's due: Arcads makes some of the most convincing UGC-style actors around. Over 1,000 of them, 74 languages with accents, and plenty of five-star reviews from brands that got winning hooks out of it. But its Trustpilot score sits around 2.6 out of 5 in 2026, with close to half the reviews at one star. Read them and a pattern shows up fast. The complaints are about money and billing, not about the footage.
You only see the price after you sign up
Arcads has no public pricing page: arcads.ai/pricing returns a 404 and the homepage shows no numbers. The official help center lists the plans (Starter, Creator, Pro, Scale, Business, then custom Enterprise) and their credits, but never a dollar amount. Pricing appears inside the app once you've created an account. One UK customer put it bluntly: "The adverts on Instagram dont make the true cost clear" (Trustpilot review, 2026).
One actor video burns 800 credits
A talking-actor video on Arcads 1.0 uses 800 credits, for up to 2 minutes. The audio-driven models charge 800 credits per started minute. Starter includes 8,000 credits a month, so roughly ten videos. Creator doubles that (16,000), Pro goes to 48,000. Video models like Kling or Seedance are billed separately, per generation.
Every fix is a full re-render
One mispronounced word or an awkward gesture means generating the whole video again, and paying again. A US customer summed it up: "No warning that every small fix is a full re-render". On a ten-video plan, three redos eat almost a third of your month.
Your credits vanish when you leave
On Starter and Creator, unused credits reset every billing cycle. Pro, Scale and Business roll them over, but cancel and the balance is gone. The help center says so directly: cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle, "and unused credits are lost". Hence reviews like "If I cancel now, I lose the balance credits".
The trial turns into Starter after 72 hours
Good news first: Arcads does have a free trial, whatever older articles say. It lasts exactly 72 hours, with 1,000 credits and every feature unlocked. It needs a card, though, and if you don't cancel you're moved to the Starter plan automatically. A run of one-star reviews describe renewals people didn't see coming.
Bad output isn't refundable
The refund policy is tight. Full refund only if you used zero credits in the period, requested within 30 days. A 24-hour cooling-off window after your first charge, with no credits used, once per account. And "poor output quality alone" doesn't qualify: off lip sync or a surprise accent gets you nothing. Platform errors get your credits back, not your money.
You're leaving because... go to...
The right Arcads alternative depends on what's pushing you out. Usually one row fits. All six tools get a full card below, with pricing and what you need to rebuild.

Arcads alternatives, tool by tool
For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, where it falls short, how to move over from Arcads, and what it costs to start. Every one of them bills in credits. The only number that matters is how many usable ads you get for your budget, redos included. If your problem is static ads (banners, display creatives), see our guide to switching from AdCreative.ai. If you mostly make training videos, none of this is your list: see our guide to switching from Synthesia or our ranking of the best AI avatar video generators.
The tools
Creatify: product-URL-to-video ads, with a real free plan
Cheapest way inWhy switch to Creatify. Paste a product page URL and Creatify turns it into a video ad with an avatar, voiceover and captions. Same job as Arcads (short UGC-style ads for TikTok, Reels and Shorts), with two differences that matter. Pricing is public. And a permanent free plan lets you judge the output before paying: 10 credits a month, watermarked.
Who it's for. Shopify and DTC brands pushing out new ad variants every week who'd rather start from product pages than write every script by hand.
Who it's not for. Anyone who needs an actor to carry a long, nuanced story. Creatify is strongest on 15 to 30 second product ads, less so on a two-minute testimonial.
Where it falls short. Video eats credits quickly, and Creatify's terms rule out refunds unless the law requires one. One real edge over Arcads: credits stay valid for two months instead of resetting every cycle. Standard is $10 a month billed yearly ($15 monthly) for 55 credits. Pro is $38 ($55 monthly) for 280 credits.
How to switch. Take your three best-converting Arcads scripts and rebuild them on the free plan before you cancel anything. If you already automate ad production, there's a Creatify module for Make to generate videos from a spreadsheet.

- 10 credits a month, watermark
- Paid
- Standard $10/mo yearly, $15 monthly
- Best for
- product ads from a URL

- no refunds
MakeUGC: the Arcads workflow, with the price on the page
Closest to ArcadsWhy switch to MakeUGC. It's the tool that looks most like Arcads: a library of AI actors, a script, a talking-head ad. Your workflow doesn't change. What changes is that you can see the price before signing up. Starter is $29 a month billed yearly for 500 credits.
Who it's for. DTC brands and media buyers who test a lot of hooks and want to keep the one actor, one script, one video logic.
Who it's not for. Anyone leaving Arcads over surprise charges. MakeUGC has similar complaints: Trustpilot hides its score for breaching platform guidelines, and some customers describe charges after cancelling.
Where it falls short. Starter renders in 720p. For 4K and one custom avatar you need Growth, at $39 a month billed yearly for 1,000 credits. Pro is $79 with three custom avatars. The trial costs $1, then renews at full price unless you cancel.
How to switch. Take the $1 trial and put the end date in your calendar that same day. Rebuild your winners with a similar-looking actor, keep the exact same script, and track cost per usable video for a week.
- Trial
- $1, then full price
- Paid
- Starter $29/mo yearly, 500 credits
- Best for

- Catch

HeyGen: when your ad has to speak several languages
Best for translationWhy switch to HeyGen. HeyGen wasn't built for ads, but it handles part of the job very well: realistic avatars, a UGC avatar gallery, and above all video translation with lip sync. An ad that works in English can go out in Spanish or German in minutes. We rate it 4.0 out of 5 in our AI avatar video generator ranking.
Who it's for. Brands selling in several countries that want to localize their best ads instead of producing new ones. Also teams that want an avatar of themselves: HeyGen allows it on the free plan.
Who it's not for. The media buyer who needs fifty hook variants a week. HeyGen isn't designed for ad volume.
Where it falls short. The free plan gives you 3 videos a month, one minute max, watermarked. Creator is $24 a month billed yearly ($29 monthly) for 600 credits, and the credit cost changes with the avatar engine you pick.
How to switch. Start by translating an Arcads ad that's already winning: that's where HeyGen adds the most. If HeyGen isn't right either, our guide to switching from HeyGen covers its own alternatives.
- Free
- 3 videos a month, watermark
- Paid
- Creator $24/mo yearly
- Best for
- lip-synced translation
- Catch
- not built for ad volume
Argil: your own video clone, for founder-led brands
Founder-led adsWhy switch to Argil. Arcads rents you actors. Argil clones yours: you, your founder, your spokesperson. You record a reference video once, then generate videos where your own face and voice do the talking. It's built around creators and founders who post often.
Who it's for. Brands that sell on the founder's face, and coaches or consultants who want to post daily without filming daily.
Who it's not for. Anyone testing twenty different faces on the same ad. Argil's whole point is one face: yours.
Where it falls short. Its pricing is in flux: the site now lists a Pro plan "from $50 per month", while its docs still list Classic at $39 a month for 1,500 credits and Pro at $149 for 6,000. Check the amount at checkout. Pay-as-you-go credits never expire.
How to switch. Nothing carries over from Arcads: you record a new reference video and give consent. Keep your Arcads scripts, they work as they are.
- Paid
- Pro from $50/mo on the site
- Credits
- pay-as-you-go credits never expire
- Best for
- founder or creator clone
- Catch
- one face only, yours
Topview: the avatar that holds your product
Most product-focusedWhy switch to Topview. Its standout feature is missing from Arcads: Product Avatars. Upload a photo of your item and the avatar holds it, shows it, talks about it. Topview claims over 5,000 public avatars, a dedicated AI UGC video tool, and talking avatars up to 180 seconds with its Avatar 4 model.
Who it's for. Ecommerce brands whose product needs to be seen in hand: beauty, accessories, small gadgets.
Who it's not for. Anyone who wants to try before paying. Topview shows no free plan on its pricing page.
Where it falls short. Pricing is mostly annual. Plus is $36 a month, or $432 a year, for 100 credits a month. Business is $44 a month, but its 3,000 credits are per year, not per month. Check the unit before you compare.
How to switch. Shoot clean product photos on a plain background first: that's the tool's raw material. Then remake your most-watched Arcads ad as a product-in-hand version and compare click-through rates.
- Paid
- Plus $36/mo yearly ($432/yr)
- Credits
- 100 a month on Plus
- Best for
- product shown in hand
- Catch
- no free plan listed
Higgsfield: the big video models, plus a UGC ad studio
Most creativeWhy switch to Higgsfield. Arcads already plugs into Kling and Seedance, but bills every generation separately. Higgsfield is built around them: the major video models in one place, a marketing studio and a UGC builder. We rate it 4.2 out of 5 in our Higgsfield review.
Who it's for. Creative teams that want more than talking heads: product in motion, staged scenes, effects.
Who it's not for. Anyone who just needs an actor reading a script. Talking heads exist, but they're not the strength.
Where it falls short. The UGC builder starts on Plus, at $49 a month for 1,000 credits. A 10-second 720p UGC ad uses 70 credits, so about 14 ads a month. Starter ($15 for 200 credits) doesn't include the UGC builder, and the free plan rules out commercial use.
How to switch. Treat Higgsfield as an add-on, not a full replacement: keep an actor tool for talking heads and use Higgsfield for the scroll-stopping opening shots.
- Paid
- Plus $49/mo, 1,000 credits
- 10 s UGC ad
- 70 credits at 720p
- Best for
- creative shots, many models
- Catch
- UGC from Plus up
The 6 alternatives side by side
Arcads against its six alternatives, plus Billo for anyone who wants real creators back. Don't look at the monthly price first. Look at what's left after redos. On Arcads, 8,000 credits buy about ten actor videos. On Higgsfield, 1,000 credits buy about 14 ten-second UGC ads.

Leave Arcads in seven steps
Order matters. On Arcads, anything you haven't used or downloaded by the end of the cycle is gone. Each step protects something: your credits, your videos, the ads still running, your money.
The steps
List what's actually working
Day 1List every Arcads ad still running, with its script, hook, actor, format and results (CTR, cost per purchase). Flag the top three by return: those are the ones you rebuild first. Copy your scripts into a doc you own. They're the real asset, far more than the renders.
- Time
- about an hour
- Keep
- scripts, hooks, results
Find your renewal date
Day 1Under Settings, then Billing, note your next charge date. Everything hangs on it. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle, and Arcads makes no exceptions to its refund window. On Starter and Creator, credits reset on that date whether you cancel or not.
- Where
- Settings > Billing
- Why
- every step keys off it
Spend your credits before you go
Before cycle endsRemaining credits disappear when you cancel. Use them on things you'll still need afterward: new formats of your best ads, versions in other languages, fresh hooks on a proven script. On Pro, Scale or Business, rollover can build a big balance, which is exactly where the loss hurts most.
- Reminder
- 800 credits per actor video
- Rollover
- Pro, Scale, Business only
Download every video
Before cycle endsThere's no project export to another tool. Download every final render in every format (vertical, square, landscape) and name files by script and actor. Once access ends, you can't get them back or reformat them. Ads already live on Meta or TikTok keep running.
- Project export
- none
- Download
- every format of every video
Rebuild your avatar in the new tool
Week 1An Arcads library actor doesn't exist anywhere else. Pick a similar profile (age, tone, style) in the new tool. If you had a custom avatar, you rebuild it: new reference video, new consent. On MakeUGC, custom avatars need Growth; on HeyGen, you can make one on the free plan.
- Avatar transfer
- not possible
- Plan for
- a new consent video
Run both tools side by side
Weeks 1 and 2Rebuild your three winners in the new tool with the same scripts and run them on the same budget as the Arcads versions. Compare CTR and cost per purchase, not how the video feels. Plan for AI disclosure too: Meta already flags AI content under "About this ad", and if you sell into the EU, the AI Act requires transparency on synthetic content that imitates a real person in 2026.
- Time
- one to two weeks
- Metric
- cost per purchase, same budget
Cancel, and keep the proof
Before renewalGo to Settings, Billing, Manage subscription, then Cancel subscription. Custom plans go through support. Keep the confirmation email: if you're charged after cancelling anyway, that email is what gets you refunded. If you haven't used a single credit since the last charge, request a refund within 30 days.
- Path
- Settings > Billing > Manage subscription
- Keep
- the confirmation email

What makes an Arcads exit go wrong
The same mistakes show up again and again in reviews from people leaving Arcads and its competitors. None of them are technical. All of them cost money.
Cancelling the day after renewal
You pay for a month you won't use, then lose the credits anyway. Cancel right after your last useful generation, a few days before the charge date.
Letting a trial roll over
The Arcads trial becomes Starter after 72 hours; MakeUGC's $1 trial renews at full price. Put the end date in your calendar the day you sign up, not later.
Comparing monthly price instead of cost per ad
A cheaper plan that needs three renders per usable ad costs more than a pricier one that nails it first time. Count usable ads over a week, redos included.
Killing Arcads before you have a winner
Until the new tool has produced an ad at least as profitable as your best Arcads ad, keep the old one running. Published ads don't depend on your subscription.
Not listening to the voice in your market
An actor that speaks "74 languages" won't always sound native in each. Run your longest script, with numbers and brand names, through every tool before committing to a year.
What if the problem is AI itself?
Some brands leave because their ads look AI-made. Then the right move is real creators. Billo sells videos shot by human creators from $99 per 15-second video, no subscription, with packs from $1,000 and a balance valid 12 months. For more options, see our ranking of the best UGC platforms.
- Your three most profitable Arcads ads, with scripts and results
- Next charge date, written down
- Remaining credits spent on useful variants
- Every video downloaded in every format
- A new avatar, with a consent video if it's you
- Two weeks of testing on the same budget
- AI disclosure planned for the new ads
- Cancellation confirmation email, archived
Arcads alternatives: frequently asked questions
How much does Arcads cost per month?
Arcads doesn't publish prices: you see them in the app after sign-up, and Enterprise is custom-quoted. What is public is the credits: 8,000 a month on Starter, 16,000 on Creator, 48,000 on Pro, 96,000 on Scale and 192,000 on Business. At 800 credits per actor video, Starter gets you about ten videos.
Does Arcads have a free trial?
Yes, despite what many reviews say: exactly 72 hours, 1,000 credits, every feature. A card is required. Cancel before it ends and you're not charged, but access stops immediately. Otherwise you move to Starter.
What's the best free alternative to Arcads?
Creatify, with 10 free credits a month, no time limit, watermarked. HeyGen gives 3 one-minute videos a month, also watermarked. No free plan replaces a paid one for running ads: they're for judging the output.
Arcads or Creatify?
Arcads if actor realism comes first and you're fine seeing the price after sign-up. Creatify if you start from product pages and want public pricing and a permanent free plan. Its credits last two months, while Arcads Starter credits reset every cycle.
Arcads or MakeUGC: which is cheaper per video?
You can't settle it from public pages alone, because Arcads doesn't show its prices. What you can compare is credits: Arcads charges 800 per actor video, out of 8,000 on Starter. Do the math with the price you see in the app, then run the same script on MakeUGC's $1 trial.
Can you get a refund from Arcads?
Rarely. You must have used zero credits in the period and ask within 30 days. There's a 24-hour cooling-off window after the first charge, once per account. A video you don't like isn't enough. The clear exception: a charge after a confirmed cancellation, refunded when you show the email.
Do I have to disclose AI actors in ads?
Increasingly, yes. Meta adds an AI label under "About this ad", even for videos made in third-party tools. If you sell into the EU, the AI Act requires transparency on synthetic content imitating a real person in 2026. Write the disclosure into your plan from the script stage.
What happens to my Arcads videos after I cancel?
Anything you downloaded is yours, and ads already live on Meta or TikTok keep running. Videos left in your Arcads workspace become inaccessible once the cycle ends. Download everything, in every format, before that date.
