Doctolib alternatives: where to go and how to leave cleanly
Seven destinations sorted by country and practice type, what the Doctolib contract actually says, and an eight-step exit plan.
The short answer depends on where you practice. In Germany, look at Samedi, which publishes its per-doctor pricing, or Terminland, a cheaper scheduler cancellable month to month. In Italy, the main rival is MioDottore, run by Docplanner, and AlfaDocs if you want practice software with online booking instead of a marketplace. In France, Maiia is the closest medical match. In the UK and other English-speaking markets, where Doctolib's own app listing names no presence (it cites France, Germany and Italy), Cliniko publishes a flat price per practice size and lets you cancel at any time. And if you just need a booking link, not a medical platform, meetergo or SimplyBook.me will do.
Whatever tool you choose, the hard part is the contract, not the software. In France, Doctolib's terms give you a 15-day notice period, bill any started month in full, and only guarantee a free data export if you ask for it before the termination takes effect. We compared the eight destinations in this guide and read the contract in 2026.
The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a rating.
Why practices leave Doctolib, and why they hesitate
Doctolib's biggest strength is that your patients already have the app. That's also what makes leaving uncomfortable. Practices rarely switch for one reason alone. These six come up again and again, each one checked against the contract or a public decision.
No public price list in France
Doctolib publishes no price grid for France. Everything goes through a sales rep and a quote, and the amount depends on your specialty, your add-ons and the number of practitioners. The figures you see quoted online come from testimonials or from competitors, never from Doctolib. Ask for the official quote for your practice in writing, wherever you are.
Price increases with a short window
The French contract lets Doctolib change its prices with at least one month's written notice. You then have 15 days to cancel without penalty. On an annual plan, the increase only applies once the period you already paid for ends. Miss the 15 days and the new price stands.
Bundled services fall together
Canceling the scheduling service or the practice software automatically cancels the add-on services attached to it, such as video consultations. You can't keep one piece and hand back the rest. Line up a replacement for every component before you send your notice.
A dominant position that regulators fined
France's competition authority fined Doctolib 4.665 million euros for abusing a dominant position in online booking and teleconsultation (decision 25-D-06). It cited exclusivity clauses in contracts until 2023, tied selling, and the 2018 purchase of rival MonDocteur. Doctolib has appealed. The practical takeaway: reread your own contract and check that no clause stops you from running a second tool alongside it.
Fewer rivals than the lists suggest
MonDocteur was bought by Doctolib in 2018 and its services moved to Doctolib. In Italy, Doctolib entered the market by buying Dottori.it. Many comparison lists still show these names as independent options. They aren't.
Wellness practitioners pushed out
In France, Doctolib removed online booking for about 5,700 practitioners in unregulated professions in 2022 (naturopaths, sophrologists, hypnotherapists). They kept the calendar, but lost their visibility to patients. If that's you, the question isn't whether to leave, it's where to go.
You're leaving because… go to…
The right Doctolib alternative depends first on your country, then on what's pushing you out. One line usually fits. Each card jumps to the tool's full profile.

Doctolib alternatives, tool by tool
For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, its limit, how to move over and what it costs. Samedi and Terminland are for Germany, MioDottore and AlfaDocs for Italy, Maiia for France, and the last two are for anyone who just wants a booking link.
A note on prices: most medical booking platforms, Doctolib included, don't publish rates in every country. Numbers floating around online often come from competitors. We don't repeat them. When the vendor publishes nothing, the card says "on quote".
The tools
Samedi: the German option with prices you can read
Germany, public pricingWhy switch to it. Samedi is one of the few medical booking platforms in Germany that publishes its prices. Essential costs 59 € per doctor per month, Comfort Praxis 99 €, and Comfort Praxis Premium 199 €. If what drives you out of Doctolib is not knowing what your colleague pays, Samedi fixes that on day one.
Who it's for. German practices and medical centers that want online booking and a clear per-doctor cost.
Who it's not for. Practices outside Germany, and anyone who needs the pull of a patient-facing marketplace: Samedi is a practice tool, not a directory.
Its limit. The pricing page doesn't state the contract length. Ask for the minimum term and notice period in writing before you sign, and compare them with your Doctolib contract.
How to move from Doctolib. Set up your appointment types in Samedi while Doctolib is still live, import future appointments first, then switch the booking link on your website and Google profile on the same day.

Terminland: a German scheduler you can cancel monthly
Germany, monthlyWhy switch to it. Terminland is a German online scheduling tool with a public price list: Easy from 14.90 € a month, Profi from 29.90 € and Enterprise from 59.90 €, all plus 19% VAT. Every plan can be cancelled monthly, with two weeks' notice before the end of the contract month. If Doctolib's annual renewal is what you want out of, that is the opposite model.
Who it's for. Small German practices and therapists who want a booking page and reminders without a medical platform price tag. The vendor mentions medical centres among the users of its multi-schedule network.
Who it's not for. Practices that need patient records or a marketplace that brings new patients.
Its limit. SMS reminders are an add-on: 6.90 € a month for up to 100 SMS, 13.80 € for up to 200. Each extra schedule costs more too, from 6.90 € on Easy.
How to move from Doctolib. Build your appointment types on the one-month minimum term, run both tools side by side, then point your website and Google profile to the new link.

MioDottore: the main rival in Italy
ItalyWhy switch to it. In Italy, Doctolib arrived by buying Dottori.it. The established player is MioDottore, the Italian brand of Docplanner, the group behind Doctoralia in Spain and Latin America. It combines a patient marketplace with practice tools, so it can replace both the visibility and the calendar.
Who it's for. Italian doctors and specialists who rely on patients finding them through a marketplace.
Who it's not for. Practices that want to leave the marketplace model entirely: MioDottore is the same kind of platform, just a different owner.
Its limit. Its Italian pro site lists a free version and three paid plans. Starter covers the online calendar and email and push reminders; Plus adds clinical records, SMS and WhatsApp reminders and online prescriptions; VIP adds an advanced waiting list and lower online-payment fees. No amounts are shown. Ask for the plan, the billing period and the notice terms in writing.
How to move from Doctolib. Claim or complete your MioDottore profile first, since reviews and visibility take time to build. Then move future appointments and redirect your booking link.

AlfaDocs: Italian practice software with online booking
Italy, practice softwareWhy switch to it. MioDottore is a marketplace. AlfaDocs is the other route in Italy: cloud software for medical and dental practices, where the calendar shows the patient's history, accounts and documents, patients can book online straight into it, and reminders go out automatically. It suits a practice that already has its patients and wants to own the tool.
Who it's for. Dental practices, multi-specialty clinics, physiotherapists and aesthetic medicine practices, the specialties the vendor names.
Who it's not for. Solo doctors who mostly need new patients: a marketplace does that job, AlfaDocs doesn't.
Its limit. No public price. The vendor sells three plans (Light, Smart, Elite) priced by specialty and modules, and online booking is one of the add-ons, so ask for it in the quote.
How to move from Doctolib. Use the free trial to load your patient list and appointment types. The vendor says onboarding costs nothing extra and plans can change at the next billing cycle.

Cliniko: practice software with a price you can read, cancel any time
UK and English-speaking marketsWhy switch to it. Cliniko is practice management software for clinics and allied health practitioners: calendar with online bookings and repeat appointments, treatment notes, invoices and payments. Its pricing is public, in US dollars, and depends only on the number of practitioners: $45 a month for one, $95 for two to five, $145 for six to eight, up to $395 for 26 to 200. Every feature is included in every plan; SMS is the only optional extra, at 10 cents a message from prepaid credit.
For whom. Physios, osteopaths, chiropractors, psychologists and multi-practitioner clinics in the UK and other English-speaking markets, where Doctolib does not sell.
Not for whom. Practices that need a patient marketplace to bring in new bookings: Cliniko is your own software, not a directory.
Its limit. Prices are in dollars, so a UK or eurozone practice carries the exchange rate. Telehealth only unlocks once a card is on file.
How to migrate. The first 30 days are free, with no card needed, and Cliniko's team migrates data from many other practice systems at no cost. There is no minimum term: you can cancel at any time and you are not billed again. Its import and export tools also make your next exit easier, which is exactly what Doctolib's contract does not.

Maiia: the closest match in France
France, regulatedWhy switch to it. Maiia is the French platform that looks most like Doctolib: online booking, a patient app and video consultations. It comes from Cegedim Santé, a large medical software vendor, and was born from the merger of Docavenue and RDVmédicaux, so those two names no longer exist as separate products.
Who it's for. French doctors, physiotherapists, nurses and other professionals registered in the RPPS directory, especially those already on Cegedim software.
Who it's not for. Wellness practitioners: Maiia is limited to RPPS-registered professionals. Cegedim points them to Medoucine, a separate brand it acquired in 2026.
Its limit. Like Doctolib, Maiia publishes no price list in France: you get a quote. Patients know the brand less well, so you'll need to push your new link yourself.
How to move from Doctolib. Get Maiia to confirm in the quote how it imports a Doctolib export (patients and future appointments). Run both calendars until your booking link is replaced everywhere.

meetergo: a simple booking link, free to start
CheapestWhy switch to it. meetergo is a German general-purpose scheduling tool hosted on servers in Frankfurt. It has a free plan, then Light at 9.90 € per user per month billed annually (the vendor doesn't say whether VAT is included), and Suite at 29.90 € for the first year, then 34.90 €. Of all the options here, it has the clearest pricing.
Who it's for. Therapists, coaches, psychologists and small independent practices who want a booking link on their own site, with no marketplace.
Who it's not for. Practices that need patient records, billing to health insurers or certified hosting for health data.
Its limit. It's not a medical tool. If you collect health information in the booking form, check the hosting terms first, or keep the form to name and phone number.
How to move from Doctolib. Recreate your appointment types, paste the link on your site and Google profile, then add the future appointments still on Doctolib by hand.

SimplyBook.me: a booking widget that fits any practice
GeneralWhy switch to it. SimplyBook.me is a general online booking tool used by salons, coaches and clinics. It replaces the booking part of Doctolib with booking pages, a website widget and reminders, and nothing more. Its pricing is public, in dollars: a free plan, Basic at $11.9 a month billed annually ($13.9 monthly), Standard at $24.9 and Premium at $49.9, taxes not specified.
Who it's for. Independent practitioners who want a booking widget on their site and automatic reminders, in any country.
Who it's not for. Medical practices that need a patient marketplace or clinical records.
Its limit. Like meetergo, it's not a health platform. Keep the form minimal and check where data is stored before adding anything medical.
How to move from Doctolib. Rebuild your services and durations, connect Google or Outlook to block double bookings, then replace your Doctolib link everywhere it appears.

The 8 alternatives side by side
Our default pick: Samedi in Germany (Terminland on a tighter budget), MioDottore in Italy (AlfaDocs without a marketplace), Maiia in France, Cliniko in the UK, meetergo for a solo practitioner who just needs a link.
Replacing your practice software too? We compared medical practice management software and physical therapy software. If your current tool is a general scheduler, our guide to switching from Calendly follows the same method.

Leaving Doctolib in eight steps
Order matters. The main trap isn't technical: it's the data export, which you have to request before the contract ends, not after. The contract terms below are the French ones. If you practice in Germany or Italy, check the same clauses in your own contract.
The steps
Read your contract first
BeforeCheck whether you signed a monthly or an annual plan. The French terms offer both, auto-renewed month to month or year to year. Many guides say Doctolib means a one-year commitment: true for annual plans, not for monthly ones.
List every service attached to your calendar (video consultations, practice software). They all stop when the calendar stops.
- Find out
- monthly or annual
- Risk if rushed
- paying an extra year
Open the new tool in parallel
Week 1Create your account with the new tool while Doctolib still runs. Recreate appointment types, durations, opening hours and locations. The regulator targeted exclusivity clauses present until 2023: check your contract, then nothing stops you from running two calendars during the transition.
Get the vendor to state in writing how it imports a Doctolib export: which fields, how long, at what cost.
Request the export in writing, before the end date
CriticalThe French contract provides a data export at no extra cost, on request. The request must arrive no later than the date the termination takes effect. Doctolib then has 15 calendar days to deliver a file in a standard structured text format.
Put the export request in the same letter as your notice, or earlier. An older version of the terms allowed two months after termination to retrieve data. Don't count on it: that window isn't in the version we read.

- free
- Delivery

Import patients and future appointments
Week 2Start with appointments already booked for the coming weeks: those hurt most if they vanish. Then import the patient list. Spot-check ten records afterwards, especially phone numbers, since reminders depend on them.
Tell patients and redirect your link
Week 2Replace your Doctolib link everywhere: practice website, Google Business Profile, email signature, voicemail message, prescriptions and business cards. Send regular patients a short message with the new link.
This is the step every other guide skips. A patient who can't find you in the app doesn't always look elsewhere.
Send the notice at the right time
Month endIn France you can cancel without giving a reason and without a fee, by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, with 15 days' notice. Any month that has started is due in full, so aim for an end-of-month effective date. On an annual plan, the unused part is refunded pro rata, except the current month.
If you're leaving because of an announced price increase, you have 15 days from receiving the notice to cancel without penalty.

Replace bundled services
Same dayThe day the calendar stops, video consultations and other add-ons stop too. Have your video tool ready the day before, and send remote patients their new link.
Monitor for a month
AfterOpen the export file as soon as it arrives and check it's complete. Watch no-shows during the first month: a rising rate often means some patients never got the new link or reminders are misconfigured. Store the export somewhere secure, since it holds health data.

What makes a Doctolib exit go wrong
The costly mistakes almost all come from timing, not from the tool you pick. Six show up more than the rest.
Requesting the export too late
The request has to arrive by the effective termination date. After that, the contract guarantees nothing. Put it in your notice letter.
Canceling mid-month
A started month is billed in full. An effective date on the 3rd means paying a full month for three days.
Forgetting video consultations
They stop with the calendar. A remote patient clicking an old link lands on a dead page.
Moving to a sister brand
MonDocteur was absorbed into Doctolib, and Docavenue merged into Maiia. Check who owns the tool before you call it an alternative.
Leaving the old link on Google
That's often where new patients come from. Change it on switch day, not three weeks later.
Not asking who hosts the data
In France, health data entrusted to a provider must sit with an HDS-certified host (hébergeur de données de santé). None of the official pages we read, Maiia's or meetergo's, displays that certification: Maiia mentions a "secure environment", meetergo mentions EU servers and GDPR. Ask in writing for the host's name and certificate before you move patient records.

Doctolib alternatives: frequently asked questions
How much does Doctolib cost?
In France, Doctolib publishes no price list: you get a quote based on specialty, add-ons and number of practitioners, and invoices are in euros including VAT. Ask for a quote that splits scheduling, video consultations and any setup fees, so you can compare line by line.
Is Doctolib's contract a one-year commitment?
Only if you chose the annual plan. The French terms offer a monthly plan, renewed month to month, or an annual plan, renewed every year. Either way you can cancel without a reason on 15 days' notice. On annual plans, Doctolib refunds the unused part pro rata, minus the current month.
Do I get my patient data back when I leave?
Yes, if you ask in time. Doctolib delivers a free export within 15 calendar days, in a standard structured text format. Set up the new tool first: an export only helps if the destination can read it, so ask for a test import.
Can Doctolib raise prices during my contract?
Yes, with at least one month's written notice. You can then cancel without penalty within 15 days. On annual plans, the increase only applies at the end of the paid period. Keep the notice letter: its date starts your 15-day clock.
Can Doctolib end my contract on its side?
Yes. The terms allow it to end the subscription without any fault on your part, with six months' notice. That's enough time for a clean migration if you follow the same steps as a voluntary exit.
Why was Doctolib fined in France?
France's competition authority fined it 4.665 million euros for abusing a dominant position in online booking and teleconsultation. The decision targets exclusivity clauses in contracts until 2023, tied selling and the purchase of MonDocteur. Doctolib has appealed.
What is the best free Doctolib alternative?
For a plain booking link, meetergo and SimplyBook.me both have a free plan. They are general schedulers, not medical tools, so keep the form to name and phone number. The medical platforms in this guide (Maiia, MioDottore) work on quote and publish no free tier.
Can I run Doctolib and another booking tool at the same time?
In principle, yes. The regulator targeted exclusivity clauses present in contracts until 2023: reread yours to make sure none applies. Running two calendars for a few weeks is the safest way to migrate: sync both to Google or Outlook to block double bookings.
Is there a Doctolib alternative in the UK?
Doctolib does not present itself as a UK service: its own app listing counts its professionals in France, Germany and Italy. A UK practice that wants Doctolib-style booking looks at practice software with online bookings instead. Cliniko is one with public pricing, from $45 a month for one practitioner, free data migration and no minimum term. Budget the dollar price in pounds before you sign.
