Flatchr alternatives: where to go and how to take your candidates with you

Six recruiting tools, one per reason to leave, and a seven-step migration plan.

The short answer: Manatal for the lowest entry price ($15 per user per month billed annually), JOIN if you want a public price per job (€17 a month), Teamtailor if your careers site matters, Recruitee if you hire across several countries, Workable if you hire nonstop, Breezy HR for a flat monthly bill. Before you pick, know this: Flatchr returns your data on request by email, but your account is deactivated the day your subscription ends. So ask first. We compared these six destinations and checked their prices in 2026.

The real reasons

Why teams leave Flatchr, and what gets in the way

Flatchr, a French ATS, has real strengths: 160+ job boards, logins for field managers, fast support. People leave for other reasons: a price you only learn after a sales call, plans that cap your job slots, and a tool built for companies that hire constantly in France. Six reasons, all checked in 2026.

No public pricing

Flatchr's pricing page describes three plans without a single number. To learn what you'll pay, you need a quote. Figures on some review sites don't come from the vendor. So you can't compare it on your own against JOIN at €17 per job or Manatal at $15 per user.

Capped job slots

How many jobs you can post depends on your plan. A detailed French HR review called that cap the tool's main limit. For a network that hires in waves (seasonal staff, store openings), it's a forced upgrade.

Too much tool for occasional hiring

Flatchr targets operational SMBs and mid-size firms hiring year-round across several sites. One comparison calls it oversized for a business that hires two or three times a year. Paying per job is cheaper in that case.

A careers site with little room to customize

It's the only complaint in the user reviews collected on a large French comparison site, which are otherwise very positive. If your employer brand matters, Teamtailor goes much further.

France-first distribution

The 160+ job boards are Flatchr's strong suit in France. If you're hiring in the US, the UK or across Europe, the value of that list drops, and an international tool fits better.

Very few public reviews

One review on Capterra, one on GetApp, seven on Appvizer, two on Trustpilot. That's thin for a tool you'll commit to for a year. One of the two Trustpilot reviews describes a closed account reactivated and billed again: isolated, but a reason to cancel in writing.

The 6 alternatives

Flatchr alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, its catch, how to migrate from Flatchr, and what it costs. Prices are what vendors list in 2026, in the currency they show.

01

Manatal: the cheapest way in, with migration help included

Lowest entry price

Why switch to Manatal. It's the lowest entry price on this page for a small team. Professional costs $15 per user per month billed annually ($19 monthly). The pricing page lists implementation and data migration support on all three plans, plus a CSV or JSON import tool for candidates, jobs and contacts.

Who it's for. A team of 1 to 5 recruiters who want a full applicant tracking system (ATS, the software that follows every application from job post to hire) with AI resume screening, without a sales call.

Who it's not for. A multi-site network where every store manager needs a login. Manatal bills per user, the opposite of Flatchr's model.

The catch. Professional caps you at 15 jobs per account; Enterprise ($35 annually, $39 monthly) removes the cap. Some users find the interface clunky and the reporting thin. Free job board posting also needs account verification, which takes up to three working days.

How to migrate. Start the 14-day trial (no card), import a 50-candidate sample from your Flatchr file, check that resumes came across, then ask the team to handle the rest.

JOIN: a price you can read, paid per job

Public pricing

Why switch to JOIN. Flatchr publishes no prices at all. JOIN shows everything on its European pricing page: Standard at €17 per active job per month billed annually (€20 monthly), Advanced at €34, both excluding VAT. You pay for open roles, not seats, and users are unlimited on every plan.

Who it's for. A European SMB with 2 to 10 roles open at a time that wants a number before talking to sales. Four roles open all year on Standard comes to €68 a month.

Who it's not for. A network keeping 40 ads live at once: above 15 jobs, JOIN moves to a custom Enterprise quote.

The catch. Free distribution covers about ten job boards, far from Flatchr's 160-plus. Paid multiposting to 250+ sites is an add-on. Candidate export, API access and Zapier or Make connections need Advanced.

How to migrate. The 14-day trial opens Advanced with 5 jobs and no card. Post your live roles during the trial, let Flatchr finish the hires already in progress, then cut over.

03

Teamtailor: when your careers site matters as much as screening

Employer brand

Why switch to Teamtailor. The one recurring complaint about Flatchr is a careers site you can't customize much. Teamtailor is built around exactly that: rich career pages, team videos and content that makes people want to apply. Jobs and users are unlimited, and AI is included.

Who it's for. Companies from 50 to several thousand employees that hire on their brand: hospitality, retail, fast-growing startups.

Who it's not for. A small business hiring three times a year. Pricing is quote-only, with no monthly plan shown on the pricing page.

The catch. Quote-only pricing, and some features cost extra: job approval flows and multi-brand management. Franchise networks should price those in the first quote. Users also note that some emails go out from Teamtailor's domain rather than yours.

How to migrate. Teamtailor doesn't publish an import process on its pricing page. Ask sales whether candidate import is included or billed, and negotiate a renewal cap before signing.

Recruitee: hiring as a team, managers included

Collaborative hiring

Why switch to Recruitee. Recruitee is built for shared hiring: managers rate, comment on and move candidates in the same pipeline as HR. That's Flatchr's collaborative promise, in a tool designed for teams that hire across several countries.

Who it's for. Companies of 50 to 500 people hiring in more than one European market.

Who it's not for. Anyone leaving Flatchr to escape quote-only pricing: Recruitee publishes no prices either.

The catch. There's a one-year minimum commitment. You can pay monthly, and annual billing takes 20% off. Three plans (Start, Advance, Optimize) are priced on company size.

How to migrate. The free trial needs no card and takes a few minutes to set up. The Optimize plan adds expert setup help: if your Flatchr database is large, that's the plan to get quoted.

05

Workable: the full machine, with a visible price

All-in-one

Why switch to Workable. Workable lists its prices and covers the whole cycle: sourcing, multiposting, interviews, assessments, plus an HR module if you want it. Standard starts at $299 a month for companies of 1 to 20 employees, Premier at $599.

Who it's for. A company that hires continuously, in Europe and the US, and wants depth over simplicity.

Who it's not for. A small business opening four roles a year. $299 a month is a lot for that.

The catch. Price follows your headcount band, not your hiring volume. Add-ons (texting, video, assessments) stack on top.

How to migrate. The trial runs 15 days with no card. Workable offers data export and an API: use the trial to check that your Flatchr resumes import with their notes.

Breezy HR: a flat monthly fee, no per-seat math

Flat monthly fee

Why switch to Breezy HR. Breezy charges a flat company fee with public tiers: Startup at $157 a month billed annually ($189 monthly), Growth at $273 ($329), Business at $439 ($529). For a US-based team used to Flatchr's all-in bundle, it's the closest model with a visible price.

Who it's for. US and international SMBs that want a simple pipeline and a known monthly bill.

Who it's not for. A team that needs French-market job boards: Breezy's distribution leans toward US sites.

The catch. There's no free plan on the pricing page anymore, only a 14-day trial. AI credits, texting ($41 a month) and onboarding ($49 a month) are add-ons.

How to migrate. Breezy advertises migration from other platforms; full data export and import sits in the Custom Pro options. Ask what's included on your tier before you commit.

Migration plan

Leaving Flatchr in seven steps

Order matters. Each step protects something: your candidates, your right to keep them, your hires in progress, your job board reach.

01

Map everything running in Flatchr

Week 1

List every live job, each pipeline stage, email template, tag, application form, and the job boards that actually bring you hires. Flatchr's reports show the share of each channel: keep them, they tell you which boards to pay for at the destination.

Add the list of people with access: managers, branch heads, site directors. They're the ones you'll need to train.

Time
half a day
Risk if rushed
a lost candidate channel
02

Check your plan and end date

Week 1

The monthly pack can be cancelled at any time; the annual commitment runs to its term. Find your order form and the exact end date. On that date, the account is deactivated.

Tip: Flatchr lets you switch plans. If you're on annual, ask to move to monthly for the transition instead of renewing a full year.

Cancel in writing and keep the acknowledgment. One review describes a closed account being reactivated and billed again: an isolated case, but a written trail settles it in one email.

Keep
the cancellation receipt
Trap

03

Request your data before the end date

Week 2

Flatchr's terms of use provide for data return "in a standard readable format" on request by email to contact@flatchr.io. Ask at least three weeks before your end date: the public terms set no deadline.

Spell out what you want: each candidate record, the resume attachment, notes and ratings, current stage, linked job and date of last contact. A bare spreadsheet without resumes is close to useless.

Address
contact@flatchr.io
Lead time
3 weeks before end
04

Clean up before you import

Week 2

Under GDPR, France's regulator (the CNIL) recommends keeping a rejected candidate for at most two years after last contact, unless they agreed to longer. Use the migration to delete everyone past that line.

Keep the original last-contact date. If the import stamps today's date, you reset a clock you aren't allowed to extend.

Rule
2 years after last contact
Bonus
a lighter import
05

Import a sample, then the rest

Week 3

Start with 50 candidates and their resumes. Open ten records at random in the new tool: does the resume display, are the notes there, is the stage right? A matching row count doesn't prove the files came across.

Only then import everything. Manatal takes CSV and JSON; with quote-only vendors (Teamtailor, Recruitee), get the import written into the contract.

Sample

Check

06

Reconnect job distribution

Week 3

Flatchr advertises 160+ job boards. No destination here gives you that many for free: JOIN posts to about ten, then 250+ as a paid add-on. Go back to your inventory and pay only for the boards that brought hires.

Update the Apply link on your site and social pages. A job left live on Flatchr keeps sending candidates into an account that's about to close.

Trap

07

Cut over in stages and train managers

Week 4

Open new roles in the new tool; let hires already in progress finish in Flatchr. Two to four weeks of overlap is usually enough.

Train field managers in 30 minutes on their part only: read a profile, leave feedback, move a candidate. They're the ones who sink a migration when nobody shows them the new screen.

Migration pitfalls

What makes a Flatchr exit go wrong

The same mistakes show up in vendors' migration guides and in user feedback. None is technical: they're oversights, and each costs more than the time it would have taken to avoid.

Asking for your data too late

The account is deactivated on your end date. If your request goes out the day before, you depend on the vendor's goodwill. Email contact@flatchr.io three weeks ahead.

Getting a list without resumes

A spreadsheet of names and emails is not a resume database. Insist on attachments, manager notes and each candidate's stage. Open ten random records after import to check.

Importing expired candidates

France's CNIL says a rejected candidate is kept two years after last contact at most. Re-importing them with today's date erases that clock. Clean up first.

Comparing prices without comparing units

Flatchr bills a package, JOIN per job, Manatal per user, Workable by company size, Breezy per company tier. Do the math on your real case: roles open at once, number of recruiters and managers.

Forgetting the Apply links

Your site, your LinkedIn page and in-store posters may still point to Flatchr. Replace every link on cutover day and submit a trial application yourself.

Leaving managers untrained

Flatchr's strength is hiring by field managers. If nobody shows them the new tool, they fall back to email and phone. Thirty minutes each is enough.

  • Contract end date found and cancellation sent in writing
  • Data return requested from contact@flatchr.io three weeks before the end
  • Resumes, notes and stages present in the export
  • Candidates older than two years deleted
  • 50-candidate sample imported and checked
  • Apply links replaced everywhere

FAQ · 8 questions

Flatchr alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • How much does Flatchr cost?

Flatchr publishes no prices: everything goes through a quote. Its pricing page describes a monthly pack with no commitment, an annual pack at a better rate, and an offer with an annual commitment. Setup, training and data return are included. Figures you'll see on some review sites don't come from Flatchr, so wait for your own quote.

  • Is there a free alternative to Flatchr?

Not among serious tools. JOIN has no permanent free plan, and Breezy HR no longer lists one. You get trials instead: 14 days at JOIN, Manatal and Breezy, 15 at Workable, all without a card. The cheapest after that is Manatal at $15 per user per month billed annually.

  • How do I get my data out of Flatchr?

Email contact@flatchr.io. The terms of use promise data in a standard readable format. Ask before your subscription ends, since the account is deactivated that day, and insist on resume attachments, not just a candidate list.

  • Can I cancel Flatchr at any time?

Yes on the monthly pack, which has no commitment. No on the annual commitment, which runs to its term. If you're planning to leave, ask to move to the monthly pack: Flatchr allows plan changes.

  • Which ATS is closest to Flatchr?

For a European company, JOIN is the closest on unlimited users with a public price (€17 per job per month billed annually). Teamtailor is closest on multi-site hiring with field managers. Our applicant tracking system ranking compares more tools.

  • How long does an ATS migration take?

About a month of preparation for a small business (inventory and contract, export and cleanup, import and job boards), then two to four weeks of overlap while current hires finish in Flatchr.

  • What should I do with candidates older than two years?

Delete them before importing, unless they agreed to longer retention. France's CNIL recommends two years after last contact at most for rejected candidates. Keep the real last-contact date in the new tool.

  • Is Flatchr a good fit for a small business?

It depends on how often you hire. Flatchr targets operational SMBs and mid-size companies with several sites and managers who hire. If you hire two or three times a year, a per-job tool like JOIN costs less. Our ATS for small business page covers that case.
