Narvar alternatives: where to go when the renewal quote lands, and how to leave without breaking tracking or returns

Eight destinations with public pricing, one per reason to leave, and a six-step migration plan.

The short answer: AfterShip if you're replacing tracking and want to keep your Klaviyo flows (it publishes an official Narvar-to-AfterShip guide), WeSupply if you want tracking and returns in one tool ($50 a month for 2,000 shipments and 100 returns), Loop if exchanges are the problem, CWILL Order Tracking (formerly ParcelPanel) for a small Shopify store, Return Prime or ReturnGO for returns only, Malomo for month-to-month tracking, and Sendcloud if you ship from Europe. First, pull your Narvar order form: the non-renewal notice matters more than the tool you pick. We compared all eight on their official pricing pages in 2026.

The ranking is editorial: a sponsored spot is always labeled on its card, and no affiliate link changes a score.

The real reasons

Why brands leave Narvar, and why it's rarely quick

Narvar is still the most complete post-purchase platform out there: estimated delivery dates, multi-channel notifications, returns fraud controls, 1,000+ carriers integrated and 1,500+ brands as customers, by Narvar's own count. People don't leave because it lacks features. They leave over price, contract terms, and how long it takes to change anything. Six reasons, each pulled from official pages or user reviews in 2026.

No public pricing, and a five-figure annual budget

Narvar's site offers a demo request and nothing else: no price list. Purchase data published by Vendr, a software buying service, puts the median around $38,000 a year, in a range of $11,625 to $72,849. That's roughly $3,200 a month at the median, while every tool on this page starts somewhere between $0 and $340.

Multi-year terms that renew on their own

Also per Vendr, Narvar strongly prefers multi-year deals, often prepaid annually. Renewal is automatic with a 30 to 90 day notice window, and renewal uplifts run 3% to 7% a year. Go over your contracted volume and overage fees kick in.

Onboarding measured in months

Reviewers often describe a launch that took several months, and some talk about a year or close to two for a full rollout. One Shopify agency calls onboarding slow and painful, built for enterprise brands rather than stores under $2M in revenue.

Every change goes through Narvar's team

Editing a returns rule, the tracking page or a notification often means opening a ticket. Several users find the admin rigid for rules, and an agency flags limited merchant autonomy. For an ecommerce team that experiments a lot, that slows down every week.

Support that depends on who you get

Reviews split: some customers praise support, others call it unresponsive, with an account manager who's hard to reach and help that vanishes when a real problem shows up. A few say it never felt like a true partnership.

Exchanges that frustrate merchants on Shopify

Narvar's returns and exchanges app on Shopify lists as free to install and holds 4.5 stars on 21 reviews, but the negative ones target exchanges: one merchant warns they can cost you money, another moved to Loop and won't go back. An agency also notes the portal only lets shoppers return one item at a time.

The 8 alternatives

Narvar alternatives, tool by tool

For each tool: why switch to it, who it's for, the catch, how to migrate from Narvar, and what it costs. Prices are what vendors list in 2026. Only tools with a published price are ranked: parcelLab, Happy Returns, ZigZag and ClickPost sell by quote, like Narvar, so they stay off the list. Route is its own case: its Standard plan costs the merchant $0 because your shoppers pay for package protection at checkout.

01

AfterShip: replace tracking without rebuilding your Klaviyo flows

Best for replacing tracking

Why switch to it. It's the only tool here with an official guide for leaving Narvar. The guide maps each Klaviyo event: Narvar's "Just Shipped" becomes "Delivery summary - All Items fulfilled", and "Missed Delivery" becomes "Delivery exceptions - Failed attempt". You update flow triggers and templates, then check the new triggers. That remap is the part of a Narvar exit people dread most, and here it's written down.

Who it's for. Shopify brands that send shipping notifications through Klaviyo and want a branded tracking page with a price they can read.

Who it's not for. A brand whose real pain is returns and exchanges. AfterShip sells returns separately; this profile covers tracking.

The catch. Costs climb with volume. Premium is $70 a month for 500 shipments, then $0.12 per extra shipment, so 2,000 shipments a month comes to 70 + 1,500 × 0.12 = $250. The Klaviyo guide also targets Premium, Enterprise or API plans, not Essentials.

How to migrate from Narvar. Install the app (7-day trial, first month for $1), connect Klaviyo, follow the event remap guide, and run both tools for a full cycle before you switch Narvar off. Our page on switching from AfterShip lists its weak spots too, which helps when you negotiate.

WeSupply: tracking and returns on one bill

Best for replacing all of Narvar

Why switch to it. WeSupply covers both halves of Narvar, tracking and returns, with a published price. Growth costs $50 a month and includes 2,000 shipments and 100 returns a month. Past that, it's $0.05 per shipment and $0.50 per return. The trial runs 14 days with no credit card.

Who it's for. Mid-size brands that want to replace Narvar in one move, without stitching together two tools and two contracts.

Who it's not for. Brands shipping 15,000+ orders a month. They land on Enterprise, priced by quote, which puts you back in a negotiation that looks a lot like Narvar's.

The catch. No annual pricing is shown, and Advanced costs $168 a month for the same quotas with pricier overages ($0.07 per shipment, $0.65 per return). Check what Growth leaves out before you sign.

How to migrate from Narvar. Start the trial, rebuild the tracking page first and the returns portal second, and write down every Narvar return reason and credit rule so you can copy them across. You can run WeSupply on part of your orders during your last contract month.

Loop: when exchanges are why you're leaving

Best for returns and exchanges

Why switch to it. Loop is built around the exchange: instant exchanges, shop-now during the return, bonus credit to keep the revenue, and fraud controls. Negative reviews of Narvar's exchanges often name Loop as where merchants went. Returns starts at $340 a month for up to 1,000 returns.

Who it's for. Apparel and beauty brands with lots of size or shade swaps that want a return to turn into a new sale.

Who it's not for. Small stores. With no trial and a $340 monthly floor, Loop only pays off with real return volume.

The catch. No trial, and Checkout+ (free software and free return shipping, funded by the shopper) isn't open to everyone: the Shopify listing says it's for brands with 5k+ annual orders. Loop also sells tracking (Loop Tracking, formerly Wonderment), with no price shown.

How to migrate from Narvar. Copy your Narvar return reasons, rules and windows into Loop, then redirect the old returns portal link. If you also take tracking from Loop, ask about the bundle discount shown on the Loop Tracking page.

CWILL Order Tracking (formerly ParcelPanel): the cheapest tracking on Shopify

Best for small stores

Why switch to it. It's the best-rated tracking app on this page in the Shopify App Store: 5.0 stars on 3,212 reviews. The free plan covers 20 orders a month, Essential is $11 a month for 200, and Professional is $59 for 2,000. Billed yearly, Professional is $564.

Who it's for. Shopify stores that want a branded tracking page and notifications without a five-figure annual contract.

Who it's not for. Brands that need returns, exchanges or advanced multi-channel messaging. CWILL is a tracking tool first.

The catch. Each extra quota unit costs $0.05, and the app has changed names (ParcelPanel, then ParcelWILL, then CWILL), so most tutorials still use an old name.

How to migrate from Narvar. Install the app (7-day trial), rebuild the tracking page, then redirect Narvar's old tracking URL to the new one so links already sent to customers keep working.

Return Prime: returns on a small budget

Best value for returns

Why switch to it. Return Prime starts free (5 requests, then $0.49 per request) and Grow costs $19.99 a month for 60 requests. At 100 returns a month, Grow comes to 19.99 + 40 × 0.49 = $39.59, and Thrive AI covers 180 requests for $79.99. It's the best-rated returns app here: 4.8 stars on 780 reviews.

Who it's for. Shopify stores replacing only the returns half of Narvar that want cost to track volume.

Who it's not for. Brands selling across several platforms or in stores: Return Prime lives inside Shopify.

The catch. The per-request overage climbs on Thrive AI ($0.79), and above 450 requests a month you need Scale at $149.99.

How to migrate from Narvar. Start the 15-day trial, copy your Narvar reasons and rules across, and keep your current tracking setup until the new one is live.

ReturnGO: full returns without an enterprise contract

Best for mid-size returns

Why switch to it. ReturnGO gives you the core of a returns platform (portal, rules, exchanges, store credit) with a published entry price: Premium from $147 a month, Pro from $297. That keeps you far from Narvar territory, with Enterprise by quote if you grow.

Who it's for. Shopify brands that have outgrown a basic returns app and want deeper rules without going back to an enterprise contract.

Who it's not for. Stores that want to start free: there's no free plan.

The catch. Return quotas aren't clearly shown on the pricing page, and the 14-day trial only applies to self-serve Shopify plans. Get your quota in writing before you sign.

How to migrate from Narvar. During the trial, copy your Narvar rules and route a share of returns through ReturnGO. Screenshot every rule before your Narvar access closes.

Malomo: branded tracking you can cancel monthly

Best for leaving with no lock-in

Why switch to it. Malomo is the opposite of a Narvar contract: its pricing page says month-to-month contracts can cancel at any time. Lite is $49 a month for 1,000 shipments, then $0.06 per shipment. Starter is $189 for 4,000.

Who it's for. Brands that treat the tracking page as a sales channel and never want to sign a three-year deal again.

Who it's not for. Brands that also need a returns module: Malomo is about tracking.

The catch. At 2,000 shipments a month, Lite comes to 49 + 1,000 × 0.06 = $109, and Growth starts at $400 a month. No trial is listed on the pricing page.

How to migrate from Narvar. Use the monthly billing: start Malomo a month before your Narvar end date, rebuild the tracking page and notifications, then switch the tracking URL the day Narvar stops.

Sendcloud: shipping, tracking and returns for Europe

Best if you ship from Europe

Why switch to it. Sendcloud replaces Narvar from the bottom of the stack: you print labels with European carriers and get a custom tracking page and returns portal from the Growth plan at €109 a month. Advanced returns management comes with Premium at €219. Our full Sendcloud review scores it 3.7 out of 5.

Who it's for. Brands with European warehouses that want one tool for labels, tracking and returns, billed in euros.

Who it's not for. US-only brands, or anyone who just wants the tracking page and notifications without changing how they buy labels.

The catch. You pay twice: the subscription (Lite €35, Growth €109, Premium €219, Pro €799 a month) plus a per-label fee from €0.12 on Lite down to €0.08 on Pro. Support is its weakest score in our review (2.7 out of 5).

How to migrate from Narvar. Connect your store and carriers, rebuild the tracking page and returns portal on Growth, then switch notifications over. The Free plan (600 labels a year) is enough for a first trial run.

Narvar and 8 alternatives side by side

For scale, take a brand shipping 2,000 orders and handling 100 returns a month. Narvar runs about $3,200 a month at the median, per Vendr's purchase data ($38,395 a year divided by 12). WeSupply Growth covers both needs for $50. For tracking only, CWILL Professional is $59, Malomo Lite $109 and AfterShip Premium $250. For returns only, Return Prime comes to $39.59, ReturnGO starts at $147 and Loop at $340.

Migration plan

Leaving Narvar in six steps

Order matters. Step one protects your budget; the rest protect your customers, who should never hit a dead tracking link.

01

Find the notice window and send it in writing

First

Pull your Narvar order form: end date, non-renewal notice (often 30 to 90 days), contracted volume, annual uplift clause. Send non-renewal in writing inside the window and keep the confirmation.

Send it even if you haven't picked a tool yet. You can still renegotiate with Narvar, but a missed notice locks in another full year.

02

Decide what you're replacing: tracking, returns or both

Week 1

Tracking only: AfterShip, CWILL or Malomo. Returns only: Loop, ReturnGO or Return Prime. Both: WeSupply, Sendcloud, or AfterShip paired with Loop. That choice sets how many contracts you sign and the order of the migration.

Time

Who

03

List everything that depends on Narvar

Week 1

Write down the branded tracking page URL, every notification and every event sent to Klaviyo, your return rules and reasons, your credit and exchange rules, and connected integrations (Gorgias, Netsuite, ShipHero). Whatever isn't on the list gets forgotten.

Time
one day
Output

04

Ask for your history export

Weeks 1 to 2

Ask your account manager for an export of shipment and return history, and specify the format. We found no public export documentation, so ask early, in writing, while the contract is still running.

If skipped

05

Install the new tool and remap Klaviyo

Weeks 2 to 4

Start the trial (7 days at AfterShip and CWILL, 14 at WeSupply and ReturnGO, 15 at Return Prime). Rebuild the tracking page, then remap each Klaviyo event to its new name, following AfterShip's guide if that's where you're going. Check every flow with a real order.

Time

06

Migration pitfalls

What makes a Narvar exit go wrong

Exits that go badly almost never fail on the tech. They fail on the contract calendar, a forgotten link, or a return rule nobody wrote down.

Missing the notice window

With 30 to 90 days' notice and auto-renewal, a late letter commits you to another year, possibly with a 3% to 7% uplift. Set a reminder 120 days before the end date.

Forgetting overage fees

If your last year ran over contracted volume, overage charges can land at the end. Check them before you leave, and don't sign an amendment to cover one peak season.

Breaking Klaviyo flows

Your flows fire on Narvar events. The day Narvar stops, they stop too, with no visible error. Remap every event and check every flow before cutover.

Letting the old tracking page die

Customers have Narvar tracking links in their inboxes. Without a redirect they hit an error and email support. Point the old URL at the new page.

Moving returns without the rules

Windows, reasons, bonus credit, exclusions: every Narvar rule has to be copied by hand. Screenshot them before your access closes.

Buying off the feature sheet

Narvar does more than most alternatives. Don't try to copy all of it: list what you actually use and pay for that. With in-store returns and huge volume, staying and renegotiating may be the right call.

  • Non-renewal notice sent in writing
  • Overage fees checked
  • Klaviyo events remapped and checked
  • Old tracking URL redirected
  • Return rules and reasons copied
  • History export received
FAQ · 8 questions

Narvar alternatives: frequently asked questions

  • What is the best alternative to Narvar?

It depends on what you're replacing. For tracking, AfterShip, because an official guide covers the move from Narvar and the Klaviyo remap. For tracking and returns together, WeSupply at $50 a month for 2,000 shipments and 100 returns. For exchange-heavy returns, Loop. Our ranking of the best package tracking software goes deeper on tracking.

  • How much does Narvar cost?

Narvar doesn't publish pricing; everything is quoted. Purchase data published by Vendr puts the median around $38,000 a year, in a range of roughly $11,600 to $72,800, depending on order volume, modules and integration complexity. The final number is negotiated.

  • What's the cheapest Narvar alternative for a small Shopify brand?

CWILL Order Tracking for tracking (free up to 20 orders a month, $11 for 200) and Return Prime for returns (free for 5 requests, $19.99 for 60). Together that's about $31 a month at low volume. See also our ranking of the best returns management software.

  • Is AfterShip better than Narvar?

For a mid-size Shopify brand, often yes on price and control: Premium is $70 a month and you edit your own tracking page. Narvar keeps the edge on very high volume and in-store returns. Our AfterShip alternatives page shows the other side.

  • What's the difference between Narvar and Loop?

Narvar covers the whole post-purchase journey, tracking to returns, by quote. Loop focuses on returns and exchanges, with a published price from $340 a month. If exchanges are your problem with Narvar, Loop is the name merchants mention most.

  • Is parcelLab a Narvar competitor?

Yes. It's the German vendor closest to Narvar: enterprise clients, tracking and returns, and no public pricing. So it doesn't fix a budget or transparency problem. We don't rank it because no price is published.

  • How long does it take to migrate off Narvar?

Plan six to ten weeks for a mid-size brand: one to two weeks of inventory and export, two to three weeks of setup and remapping, then four to six weeks in parallel. Start at least four months before your end date to clear the notice window with room to spare.

  • Does Narvar have a free trial?

Not for the platform; the site only offers a demo. Its Shopify returns app lists as free to install, but one merchant review says you can't use it until someone from Narvar contacts you.
