What you can automate

What can the JivoChat Make integration automate?

The JivoChat Make integration listens to your live chat and hands each event to Make, the visual tool where you chain apps without code. It only watches: all 6 modules are instant triggers, so JivoChat starts the automation and a module from another app does the actual work.

Never lose an after-hours lead. Watch Offline Message Sent picks up every message a visitor leaves in the offline form, and the next module can create a task in your CRM or post it where the sales team reads first.

Keep a clean call log. Watch New Call / Call Status Changed reacts to each new call and each status change, which is enough to fill a sheet or a support dashboard without anyone typing it in.

Turn a closed chat into a follow-up. Watch Chat Finished fires when the agent closes the conversation, a good moment to send a thank-you email or a short survey through another app.

What this integration does not do: there is no action or search module, so Make cannot send a chat message, edit a visitor or read your history in JivoChat. There is no Make an API Call module either. If you are weighing tools, the n8n vs Make comparison lays out the criteria, and the Make pricing page explains how operations are counted. Connect

How do you connect JivoChat to Make?

  1. 01

    Add a JivoChat module

In a scenario, add any JivoChat module and click Create a connection. A connection is your JivoChat account linked to Make once; all six triggers reuse it afterwards, so you only do this step one time.

  2. 02

    Name it and authorize Make

Give the connection a name if you like, for example the name of your website, which helps when you run several. Then either approve Make on the JivoChat page that opens, or paste the key JivoChat gives you, depending on what the window asks for.

  3. 03

    Save the connection

Click Save. Make returns to your module with the connection selected, and the trigger is ready to be configured and tested in the scenario you are building.

First scenario

Build your first scenario with JivoChat

GoalWhen a visitor leaves an offline message in JivoChat, Make passes it to the tool your sales team checks first.

  1. 01

    Create a new scenario

Open the Scenarios page and create a new scenario. A scenario is the automation you build in Make: a chain of modules, each one brick doing a single job. Click the + in the middle to add the first one.

  2. 02

    Pick the JivoChat trigger

Search for JivoChat, choose Watch Offline Message Sent and select the connection you created. This trigger is instant: JivoChat calls Make through a webhook as soon as a visitor submits the offline form.

  3. 03

Add where the message should go

Click the + on the right of the trigger and add a module from the app your team works in: a CRM, a sheet or an email tool. Map the visitor details and the message from the JivoChat bundle into its fields.

  4. 04

    Test with Run once

Click Run once, then leave a test message through the offline form on your own site. Open the bubble above each module to read the bundle it received, the single item that moved from one module to the next.

  5. 05

    Switch the scenario on

When the test looks right, switch the scenario on. Because the trigger is instant, there is no schedule to wait for: every new offline message starts a run, and each module run counts as one operation on your plan.

Triggers

The 6 JivoChat triggers

6 modules start a scenario when something happens in JivoChat. A scheduled trigger is checked by Make on the scenario's schedule; an instant one is called by JivoChat as soon as it happens.

JivoChat1Watch Chat Accepted

Watch Chat Accepted

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when an agent clicks 'Reply'.

Your scenario starts the moment an agent clicks Reply on an incoming chat, so the conversation reaches your other tools while the visitor is still on the page.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat calls Make through a webhook as soon as the agent answers, with no polling interval in between.
When to use it
log every handled chat in a sheet, or open a ticket assigned to the agent who took it.
Watch out
it reacts to the agent's reply, not to the visitor's first message, so a chat that nobody answers never reaches this trigger.
JivoChat2Watch Chat Assigned

Watch Chat Assigned

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a chat connects to CRM using the parameter "crm_link" from a reply on Chat Accepted.

Tie a live conversation to the right customer record: this trigger wakes up when JivoChat connects the chat to a CRM through the crm_link parameter sent back in a reply to Chat Accepted.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat notifies Make through a webhook right when that link is made.
When to use it
add the chat context to the matching contact or deal once the conversation is attached to it.
Watch out
it builds on the Chat Accepted event, so set up that step first and make sure the reply carries a crm_link.
JivoChat3Watch Chat Finished

Watch Chat Finished

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a chat is closed in the agent application.

Act once the conversation is over: the scenario runs when the agent closes the chat in the JivoChat agent application.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat sends the event to Make through a webhook as soon as the chat is closed.
When to use it
send a thank-you email or a short satisfaction survey through another app, or add a note on the customer record that the chat is closed.
Watch out
nothing happens while the chat is still open; if you need to act during the conversation, start from Watch Chat Accepted instead.
JivoChat4Watch Chat Updated

Watch Chat Updated

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a visitor's information has been updated - for example, a visitor filled the contacts form in the chat.

Capture the contact details a visitor types mid-conversation: this trigger fires when visitor information changes, for example when someone fills in the contact form inside the chat.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat alerts Make through a webhook the moment the details are updated.
When to use it
create a lead in your CRM as soon as a visitor shares an email address or phone number.
Watch out
every update is a separate event, so one visitor can start several runs; look the contact up in your CRM before creating it to avoid duplicates.
JivoChat5Watch New Call / Call Status Changed

Watch New Call / Call Status Changed

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when operators get a new call or an existing call change status.

Keep a call log that fills itself: the scenario runs when an operator receives a new call and again whenever an existing call changes status.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat calls Make through a webhook as soon as the call arrives or its status moves.
When to use it
record each call in a sheet or a helpdesk so support leads can see the volume without asking operators.
Watch out
a single call produces several bundles, one for the new call and one per status change, and each module run on each bundle is an operation on your plan.
JivoChat6Watch Offline Message Sent

Watch Offline Message Sent

Instant trigger

In MakeTriggers when a visitor sends an offline message through the chat offline form.

Stop losing the messages visitors leave when nobody can chat: this trigger picks up each message sent through the JivoChat offline form.

How it fires
instant: JivoChat informs Make through a webhook as soon as the form is submitted.
When to use it
turn each offline message into a CRM task or an email to the sales inbox, so someone replies first thing.
Watch out
only the offline form counts here; regular chat messages go through the chat triggers above, so pair them if you want every conversation covered.

FAQ

JivoChat and Make: common questions

01Is the JivoChat Make integration free?
Yes, JivoChat is a standard app in Make, so you can use it on the Free plan. That plan gives you 2 active scenarios, runs of 5 minutes at most, files up to 5 MB and 512 MB of data transfer. The 15-minute minimum interval applies to scheduled triggers, and all JivoChat triggers are instant, so they are not held back by it. Paid plans (Core, Pro, Teams and Enterprise) remove the cap on active scenarios and count usage in credits per month. Your JivoChat subscription is a separate matter.
02What do you need to connect JivoChat to Make?
A JivoChat account and a Make account. The Make documentation lists no specific prerequisite for this app, so the generic flow applies: add a JivoChat module, click Create a connection, optionally name it, then authorize Make on the JivoChat page or paste the key JivoChat provides, and click Save. The connection is created once and reused by all six triggers, so adding a second JivoChat scenario later takes no extra setup on the account side.
03Do the JivoChat triggers in Make react in real time?
Yes. All 6 JivoChat modules are instant triggers: JivoChat calls Make through a webhook as soon as the event happens, whether that is an agent replying, a chat closing, a visitor updating details, a call changing status or an offline message arriving. You do not wait for the 15-minute default schedule that applies to scheduled triggers. The flip side is that each event starts its own run, so busy chat periods produce more runs and more operations.
04What if the JivoChat module you need is missing in Make?
It depends on what you want to do. The integration only watches events: there is no action module to send a message or edit a visitor, and no Make an API Call module to reach other parts of JivoChat. If your goal is to react to chats, calls or offline messages, the six triggers cover it and the work happens in the next app of the scenario. If you need to write into JivoChat, Make cannot do it with this app, and the team can help you find another route.
05Should you use Make or n8n for JivoChat?
It depends on your criteria, not on a ranking. In Make, JivoChat gives you 6 instant triggers and a visual editor where each module is drawn as a bubble, which suits someone building a first scenario. The same app often exists as a node in n8n too, so check what that node offers before choosing. Compare the events you need, the tools already in your stack and how your team prefers to work, then test your real use case on the platform that fits it.
