42min Zapier integrationAutomate 42min with Zapier.

The 42min Zapier integration gives you 4 triggers, 2 actions and 2 searches. All four triggers are instant, so a new, moved, canceled or missed booking reaches your other tools at once, even on the free plan, and Zapier can book or cancel in return.

Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

Overview

What the 42min Zapier integration actually does

It connects your 42min scheduling account to Zapier, so that every change in your calendar of bookings (a new meeting, a reschedule, a cancellation, a no-show) can set off work in your other apps. It also works the other way round: Zapier can create a booking in 42min or cancel one.

Three results that come up often. A sales pipeline that fills itself: Booking Created sends every new meeting to your CRM the moment a prospect picks a slot. A no-show follow-up: Booking No-Show lets you send a second-chance email to anyone marked absent, instead of chasing them by memory. A booking made from somewhere else: Create Booking turns a sign-up in another tool into a real meeting on one of your event types.

Now the limits. The integration does not move a booking to a new time: there is a trigger for reschedules, but no action that reschedules. Searches only find a booking by the attendee's email, and they return the most recent match, so an attendee with several meetings will not give you the older ones. And 42min is flagged as beta by Zapier, which is worth keeping in mind before you build something your sales team relies on.

To weigh Zapier against other tools on your own criteria, our Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier comparisons cover the trade-offs. If you would rather learn the platform properly first, see the Zapier training.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words carry this whole page. Here they are without jargon.

Zap
The automation you build in Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. As soon as the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event to come along.
Action
The step that does the work once the Zap is running: it writes, sends or moves something in an app on your behalf.
Task
What Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts these and nothing else.
Instant vs polling
An instant trigger is pushed by the app the moment the event happens. A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a fixed timer.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it when it does not.
Search step
A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so the steps after it can reuse what it found.
Connection
Your 42min account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that works with 42min.
Cost

What a 42min Zap really costs

42min is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. What you pay for is what happens after the trigger.

  • TriggerFree, never counted
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps only
  • Premium appNo, but flagged beta by Zapier

The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier waiting for new events. Each action that succeeds counts once, so a three-action Zap uses three times what a one-action Zap uses. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each one stops at two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter, a second action or one of the 42min searches and the Zap turns multi-step, which needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your 42min account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog appears with a search box: type 42min and pick it from the list of matching apps.

  2. 02

    Sign in to 42min

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on 42min: sign in with the account that owns the event types and bookings you want your Zaps to see and change.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to use the account. If some event types or bookings belong to a teammate, you need read or write access to them first, or the Zap will not reach them.

First Zap

Your first Zap: every new booking in your CRM and your team chat

GoalWhen a prospect books a meeting in 42min, create the contact in your CRM and post the booking in your sales channel.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose 42min as the app and Booking Created as the event, then select the 42min connection you made in the previous section.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier pulls the three most recent bookings of your account, so you map fields from a real meeting rather than from empty placeholders.

  3. 03

    Add the CRM step

Add your CRM as the first action and map the attendee's name and email from the booking into the new contact record of your CRM.

  4. 04

    Add the chat step

Click the plus icon under the CRM step and add your team chat as a second action, with the meeting details in the message.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each step once and read what came back, then click Publish. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

Triggers

The 4 triggers of the 42min Zapier integration

4 events start a Zap when something happens in 42min, and 4 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Booking Canceled

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a booking is canceled by the invitee or the host.”

Starts your Zap whenever a meeting is called off, whether the person who booked or you as the host did the canceling. You learn about the freed slot straight away.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a sales team that marks the deal as stalled in the CRM as soon as a demo is dropped.
Watch out
do not pair it with the Cancel Booking action in the same flow, or a cancellation can feed itself.
2

Booking Created

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new meeting is booked on one of your event types.”

Fires each time someone books a meeting on one of your event types. It is the main entry point for anything that should happen after a slot gets taken.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a recruiter who wants every interview booked logged in the hiring tracker with the candidate's email.
Watch out
a Zap that uses Create Booking will also set this trigger off, so never let the two loop into each other.
3

Booking No-Show

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an attendee is marked as a no-show for a booking.”

Runs when an attendee is marked as absent for a booking. That gives you a clean signal for the people who reserved a slot and never turned up.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a consultant sending a polite second-chance email with a fresh booking link to anyone who missed the call.
Watch out
it only fires once someone is marked as a no-show, so it depends on that marking being done.
4

Booking Rescheduled

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a booking is rescheduled to a new time.”

Goes off when a booking moves to a new time. It keeps every copy of that meeting, in a calendar or a CRM, from pointing at the old slot.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
an account manager who logs each reschedule as an activity, to spot clients who keep pushing meetings back.
Watch out
Zapier has no action that reschedules, so a Zap can learn about a move but never make one.
Actions

The 2 actions: book or cancel in 42min

42min gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Cancel Booking

Action

In Zapier“Cancels a scheduled booking, with an optional reason.”

Calls off an existing booking, and lets you attach a reason if you want the attendee to know why.

When to use it
a deal closes as lost in your CRM and the next demo on the calendar no longer makes sense.
Watch out
it needs the Booking UID, which comes from a 42min trigger or from the Find Booking search.
2

Create Booking

Action

In Zapier“Creates a booking on one of your event types at the given time.”

Puts a new meeting in your 42min calendar, on the event type you choose and at the time you give it, for the attendee whose email you pass in.

When to use it
a webinar sign-up in another tool should land as a real one-to-one follow-up call.
Watch out
Event Type, Start Time and Attendee Email are all required; a missing one stops the step.
Searches

The 2 searches: find a 42min booking or event type

2 search steps look for data that already exists in 42min, so a later step can use it.

A search step reads 42min and passes what it found to the next steps. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Some action fields also offer + Add search step, which inserts a search just before and wires its result in. Three settings decide what happens when results surprise you.

1

Find Booking

Search

In Zapier“Finds a booking by the attendee email address, returning the most recent match.”

Looks up a booking from the attendee's email address and hands back the most recent one that matches.

When to use it
you only have an email in your CRM and need the Booking UID to cancel that person's meeting.
Watch out
only the latest match comes back, so older bookings for the same email stay out of reach.
2

Find Event Type

Search

In Zapier“Finds an event type by its slug, for example intro-call.”

Finds one of your event types from its slug, the short name that appears in its link, such as intro-call.

When to use it
a form lets people pick a meeting type and you need the matching event type before Create Booking.
Watch out
the Event Type Slug is required and has to match the one set in 42min.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
On its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap continues empty-handed.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
This box turns a search into find-or-create. 42min offers no such variant, so you will not see a second line for either search.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three exits when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them along at once.
When it breaks

When your 42min Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to 42min, so the failures to expect are the general ones, and two of them hit this app hard.

Most trouble only shows up once real bookings start flowing through. If a Zap stalls and the history gives you no clue, our Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the checks one by one.

  • Create Booking sets off Booking Created

A Zap that books in 42min while listening for new bookings in 42min wakes itself up again and again, and burns through your tasks fast.
  • Past bookings never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Bookings made before that are not picked up; moving that history is a separate job.
  • A search finds nothing and the Zap stops

With the default setting, a Find Booking with no match halts the run and skips every step after it, Cancel Booking included.
  • A bulk import gets held back

When a burst of bookings arrives at once, after a migration for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold them back before they run.

FAQ

42min Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the 42min Zapier integration free?
Yes, it works on the free plan, because 42min is not a premium app. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The real limit is size: each Zap stops at two steps, one trigger and one action. As soon as you add a filter, a second action or one of the two searches, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. Note that Zapier flags 42min as beta. No price is quoted here, since plan grids change too often.
02How many tasks does a 42min Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing else. The 42min trigger costs nothing, however many bookings it catches, and Zapier waiting for events is free as well. A Zap that only creates a CRM contact uses one task per booking; a Zap that also posts in your team chat uses two. A Create Booking or Cancel Booking that fails is not billed. Watch the loop between Create Booking and Booking Created, which can drain the count quickly.
03Is the 42min integration real-time?
Yes. All four 42min triggers are instant: 42min tells Zapier the moment a booking is created, moved, canceled or marked as a no-show, and the Zap starts at once. The polling grid, from 15 minutes on the free plan down to one minute on Team and Enterprise, does not apply to instant triggers. For a free account that is a real advantage, since a new booking does not wait for the next check. The editor shows these Zaps with a lightning bolt.
04What do you need to connect 42min to Zapier?
A 42min account and a Zapier account. From the Apps page in Zapier, add a connection, pick 42min, sign in to it in the tab that opens and grant access. If some event types or bookings belong to a teammate, you also need read or write access to them, or the Zap will not reach them. For Create Booking, the event type you want to use must already exist in 42min. The connection is then reused by every 42min step.
05Can a 42min Zap trigger itself in a loop?
Yes, and it is the main trap of this app. Create Booking adds a meeting in 42min, and Booking Created fires on every new meeting there. A Zap that listens for new bookings and also creates one will keep restarting itself and burn through your tasks. The same goes for Booking Canceled combined with Cancel Booking. Keep each Zap pointed in one direction: either 42min is the source of the event, or it receives the change, never both.
06What if the 42min operation you need is missing?
Then the integration does not cover it today, and no setting in the editor will add it. What exists is fixed by what 42min publishes to Zapier: four triggers, two actions and two searches. Moving a booking to a new time is a typical gap, since there is a reschedule trigger but no reschedule action. A workaround is sometimes possible, like canceling and creating a new booking. If not, ask 42min to extend its Zapier app or check another automation tool.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for 42min?
It comes down to your criteria rather than a single winner. Zapier offers the four instant triggers, two actions and two searches covered on this page, and simple two-step Zaps run on the free plan. If you need branching, long scenarios or self-hosting, compare how each tool handles that, and check first whether it supports 42min at all. Your team's skills, your booking volume and the beta status of this app on Zapier also count in the decision.
