Marketing 360 Zapier integrationAutomate Marketing 360 with Zapier.
Marketing 360 Zapier integration: 3 actions, 1 search, 0 triggers. Marketing 360 cannot start a Zap. Another app fires it, then Zapier creates or updates a lead or a contact in the CRM, or looks a contact up by phone to update the right record.

What the Marketing 360 Zapier integration does for you
The Marketing 360 Zapier integration feeds the Marketing 360 CRM from your other tools, so nobody has to retype a lead or a phone number. Marketing 360 bundles marketing tools in one platform. Zapier sits between it and your other apps: something happens elsewhere, Zapier writes it into the CRM. Here it offers three actions and one search.
Leads that land in the right inbox. CRM - Create or Update Lead puts each new prospect in the lead inbox of the CRM, already tagged with a status, a type and a lead source. If the email address is already known, the existing lead is updated instead.
Customer records that stay current. CRM - Create or Update Contact works the same way for contacts: a new email creates one, a known email updates it.
The right contact, found by phone. When all you hold is a phone number, CRM - Get Contact ID by Phone finds the contact and hands its ID to CRM - Update Contact by ID. That pairing edits the exact record without touching anyone else.
What Zapier does not do here. Marketing 360 has no trigger on Zapier. Nothing that happens in the CRM can start a Zap, so every Zap starts in another app. The only way to read from Marketing 360 is the phone search, and it returns an ID, nothing more. To weigh Zapier against other tools, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier words, in plain English
Eight terms run through this page. Here they are once, in ordinary words.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Marketing 360 has none, so it comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes something for you, here a lead or a contact in the CRM.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier at a fixed interval. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Marketing 360 Zap really costs
Zapier bills in tasks, and Marketing 360 is not a premium app: it works from the free plan.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
- Premium appNo, Marketing 360 works on the free plan
- What is billedEach Marketing 360 action that succeeds
The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking for new data costs nothing either. Each Marketing 360 action that goes through counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. A few apps and actions take more than one task. The free plan only builds two-step Zaps, so adding the phone search, a filter or a second action makes a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns the other app's trigger when it is a polling one: Marketing 360 has no trigger, so no interval applies to it.
Connect Marketing 360 to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. This connection is made once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Marketing 360.
- 02
Pick Marketing 360
Type Marketing 360 in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab then opens, so you can sign in to your Marketing 360 account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Marketing 360 in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need your own Marketing 360 account, plus read or write access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Zap: update a CRM contact found by phone
GoalEach new row of your spreadsheet carries a phone number. Zapier finds the matching Marketing 360 contact by that number, then updates that exact contact through its ID.
- 01
Build: pick the trigger
Start a new Zap and choose your spreadsheet with its new-row event. The trigger always comes first, since a Zap is one trigger followed by its actions.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real row with a real phone number.
- 03
Add the phone search
Add Marketing 360 and pick CRM - Get Contact ID by Phone, listed under SEARCH. Map the phone column to Phone Number, the only required field. Test it and read the ID it returns.
- 04
Add Update Contact by ID
Add CRM - Update Contact by ID. Map the ID found by the search into Contact Id, then the columns you want to change. The search makes this Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back before going further. When the right contact changes in Marketing 360, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 3 Marketing 360 actions
Marketing 360 gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
CRM - Create or Update Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Creates or updates a lead in the Marketing 360® CRM lead inbox.”
Drops a prospect into the lead inbox of the Marketing 360 CRM. When that email address is already there, the existing lead is updated with what you send.
CRM - Create or Update Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Creates or updates a contact in the Marketing 360® CRM based on contact email address.”
Writes a contact into the CRM, keyed on the email address: a new address creates the contact, a known one updates it with the information provided.
CRM - Update Contact by ID
ActionIn Zapier“Updates a contact in the Marketing 360® CRM using contact ID.”
Changes one existing contact, pointed at by its Marketing 360 contact ID rather than by email.
The Marketing 360 search, and its settings
1 search step looks for data that already exists in Marketing 360, so a later step can use it.
A search step does not change anything: it finds a record so the next steps can use it. In the editor, Marketing 360's search sits at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not a clean single match.
CRM - Get Contact ID by Phone
SearchIn Zapier“Searches Marketing 360® contacts by phone and returns the contact id.”
Looks through your Marketing 360 contacts for a phone number and gives back the matching contact ID, ready for the next step.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there, and the steps that needed its result are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. Marketing 360 exposes no find-or-create variant on Zapier, so its phone search only ever finds.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several contacts match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When a Marketing 360 Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Marketing 360, and no limit specific to the app is documented. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap.
Four cases are worth knowing before you publish. For deeper digging, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Older rows stay out
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows added before that never reach Marketing 360; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your task count. Keep the trigger and the write in different places.A bulk import held back
When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them all.No double runs on polling
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of the items it has already seen, so the same row does not start the Zap twice.
